Such an amazing restraunt. Amazing food. Some of the best I've had and amazing service. Definitely recommend and will definitely return. The best lamb chops I've ever had.

Have not visited for a few months due to illness but a warm welcome as always , very quiet on a Thursday evening ,please support your local business ! Three of us tried new dishes , Hariyali for me is great can’t take too much heat but it’s full of flavour . The King Prawn Worri was a new one too , that went down very well with our King Prawn lover ! Empty plates all round. Cobra was nice and chilled . Prices are great for such good food. Unfortunately we are away for the Bangladeshi night in June but heard it’s very good. Thanks again guys .

We love this place. The food is not typical “Indian takeaway”. It’s designed and thought through. I have taken customers and friends over many years and if I have an issue it is always resolved. Tonight was a double birthday celebration. Food as always was amazing and luckily we got to meet Abdul’s granddaughter. Beautiful

Poor choice and variety of curries on the buffet Waiters constantly coming to the table whilst we were eating Over priced for what we had the drinks were also over priced coke from the pump over £4 a pint Will not be returning and would not recommend

TOP TIP IF GOING WHEN ITS COLD DRESS FOR OUTSIDE WEATHER BECAUSE ITS FREEZING INSIDE. Had the early bird special, which is great value for money. Onion bajhis were large and very tasty. Nice pickle tray and tasty curry's. Staff were polite and friendly. What really let it down was the temperature, we were sat next to window and it was absolutely freezing resulting in us having to eat wearing out coats. It was that cold we ended up leaving most of main course and nan and cancelling our desert and coffee we paid for. Resulting in a night out we wish we hadn't had as was ruined by being so cold, we were not the only ones complaining about the temperature. Unfortunately we will not be visiting again. Car parking was a absolute nightmare.

Great vegetarian options, also allowed me to order off menu. Very tasty and good service.

Celebrating a family birthday , Chilli Lodge is our go to . We like mid week as it’s quieter but this time two big tables had been booked so quite a buzz but fortunately we were served before they arrived ! We tried new mains including Afghani lamb ( have had this with mutton too and it’s very good ) and Murgh Jalpuri , everything very good. Extra staff to cope with the numbers and as friendly as always . Thanks

Before I start I want to make clear that this review is about the takeaway food we received last night and does not reflect on previous meals we have had in the restaurant. We ordered takeaway/delivery which I think spoilt the food somewhat by the time it arrived. The fish was tough (and I know this sounds strange but tasted and smelled really fishy - not in a good way). Overall it was just poor and disappointing because we have eaten in the restaurant a few times and have not been disappointed.

Excellent meal and a lovely pint all 8 of us enjoyed it 👍 Nice naans and the mixed rice was cracking. Could do with a lick of paint but was clean and a 5* food hygiene rating.

Waited 2 1/2 hours for our food to be delivered!

We waited 2 1/2 hours for our curry to be delivered at home. No warning there would be a delay and we had two hungry children waiting.

We ordered take-away it was 1.5 hours late and incorrect. When we phoned to say the order was wrong we were told they would sort it on the next order, not sure if we would order again we asked for it to be resolved. The boss was called but could not be found. We will not be ordering again.

We went to The Chilli Lodge for the traditional Bangladeshi night. The staff were dressed in traditional costume and the vibe was wonderful. We ate authentic food, so very different to what we would order. Wow - it was amazing. Chicken, Lamb, Fish, Vegetables, fresh naans and accompaniments. It was truly delicious. What a wonderful evening we had. Abdul and his team work tirelessly to bring you the most mouthwatering food imaginable. This restaurant is one of Barnsley's true hidden treasures. Thankyou for goving us the opportunity to try something different - the experience surpassed our expectations.

The food was great, full of flavour! (The garlic naan was one of the best I’ve had, very garlicky!) the staff are very friendly and we will definitely be returning in the future.

One of the best restaurants I have been to in the area. It was out time and the staff were extremely attentive. The staff even spent time to talk to us about how they made the homemade sauces. The food was absolutely delicious and the style in the restaurant was elegant and clean. We will definitely be coming back again, see you soon!

We visit fairly regularly as we live close by. The food is fantastic, but the place is often not full. Their naan breads are amazing.

A friend took me here for a treat, the service was great, food was delicious. I really enjoyed my meal.

Best tasting food around but they do let themselves down- forgetting orders, orders late etc. Soooo expensive and half full portions that arrive cold. Not worth it.

It’s been over 3 years since we’ve been able to dine in at the chilli lodge although we’ve had many take aways. It was lovely to see and chat with the staff who were as friendly as ever. The food was delicious. It was a special return to a great restaurant. Thank you Abdul and staff.

Lovely food but need to put heating on

Great food all the way from the poppadoms and pickle tray. Extensive main menu choice. Highly recommended. Atmosphere was a bit lacking but then again it was just us as a party of 5 on Blue Monday in January.😀. Will be going back.

Not visited for a few years so thought we would give it a try. We enjoyed our meal. Service was good and staff friendly so would happily visit again.

Brilliant as always. I am a regular and see the time and effort put into the food here. Sometimes this takes slightly longer than most Indians. But trust me- it’s worth it!!

Couldn't fault either the service or the quality of the food when I recently paid my first visit there.

We waited over 1 hour and half to be served. Had to get a third round of drinks because of wait times, which is clearly a tactic to get you to buy more. Despite the prolonged period of time spent sat without food, when we got it the food was amazing. My only problem was when it says mild, it shouldn't mean bland. The rice was amazing, the Naan perfectly soft and crispy, the curries the perfect texture. We will be visiting again.

we recently tried this unit,thsts what it is but poorly made into a restaurant ,the service was very poor having to constantly ask for there service, we spent over £267 pounds the food was bland very salty ,also we asked for a garlic Nan what was basically just covered in garlic butter also when I asked why this was he all could say its garlic, not "sorry" sir we will put this right,all he could say sorry its a new chef, I personally think they can't contend with big parties, won't be visiting again sometime soon ,sorry chilli Lodge

Quite a while since our last visit and did wonder about visiting on a Monday night but it was a family birthday so …. Anyway , the warmest of welcomes even though very quiet . They have a new chef we were told but food was very good as usual and five different mains all were enjoyed. If you want your dish less spicy do mention it , very obliging. Thanks again for a lovely evening, next time we will give the pickle tray a miss and try the starters , they look good!

A fantastic Indian restaurant. great service and every dish manages to have a unique flavour. The bhajis in particular are the best in the area.

Absolutely amazing. Great food, well cooked and a good variety from mild to really spicy. All flavourful and not just spice for the sake of it. The naan are amazing and the fa,ily size naans are to be seen. Decent attentive staff who know their menu and can advise if you want something different to your usual. So good we went back again (twice)

Love it here, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is great, staff are really lovely , its our favourite curry restaurant.

Attended on Monday 14th February. Our third visit in as many months. Outstanding food and service yet again. The fact that this place is a little way out for us and we have to pass a plethora of Indian restaurants to get there speaks volumes. Best in the Borough without a doubt.

Chilli Lodge has become our go to for curry night with friends as we now venture out again. We tend to go mid week when it’s quiet and we can chat. We were welcomed warmly , poppadoms and pickle tray spot on and we decided to try some new dishes this visit. The young waiter was helpful and happy to advise so an Afghan, Dopiaza and Dansak ordered and - our friend asked the chef to make him a special King Prawn as he couldn t decide what to order !! All dishes were good, the Dansak a bit too spicy but the Afghan dish was very tasty and will have again, the prawn dish was a big hit, Really pleased to have such great food right on our doorstep.

We’ve never really been disappointed with the food from here, but the last two take aways have been absolutely brilliant (we choose Chilli lodge over other take aways which are closer to us and this is nothing personal over dining in - we have a 3 year old). I like a hot curry and the Rajastani Jalfreizi is absolutely delicious, full of flavour and a reasonable kick. Great work and please keep it up 👍🏻

Visited with friends , haven’t been for some years , just us in the restaurant at first , mid week and 7pm but that was fine as we wanted to chat and catch up. Made to feel welcome , lovely young guy met us and gave us time to go through extensive menu .Four different dishes , all lovely and great naans , we will def be returning . Only negative comment was cars parked all over the place cos of the soccer next door !

Our previous go to place for a curry has been disappointing last couple of visits and we decided to try the Chilli Lodge . We haven’t been for several years and not much in the way of recent reviews so here goes. We like to eat out mid week and about 7pm , we like to chat and catch up with friends or family and don’t like noisy, crowded places or intrusive music, sometimes this can mean eating in an almost empty restaurant and it’s not always a great experience. There was just the four of us to start with but we were welcomed and seated by a smiling young guy , we thiugh the place was warm and well decorated . We ordered drinks, poppadoms and pickle tray but said we needed time to look at the extensive menu and he was fine ‘ just let me know when you are ready ‘ . They were taking orders over the phone and folks came to collect. The food was great , we ordered Bhuna, haryali , Dopiaza and a prawn dish, all different and the right level of spice. The naans were lovely, light and slightly crisp on the outside . Service was friendly and on the ball, The only negative comment was that the Cobra wasn’t chilled enough - we will def be returning sooner rather than later to try different dishes . Thanks .

Please order somewhere else!! Late, wrong food, cold food and the restaurant turned their land line off so customers couldn't ask about their food and delivery time. Absolute joke. Over 2 and a half hours to deliver and not the first time it has happened....

Always great food and lovely people eat in or out but enjoy

We haven't visited Chilli lodge for some time due to the covid pandemic and family and work commitments. But oh we have been missing out. The staff were lovely and friendly with loads of cleaning taking place and hand sanitiser every where. Our our was taken and we had poppadoms whilst our food came. The pickle tray was clearly home made and delicious, so much so we regretted only getting one poppadom each. After that the meal arrived and it was quite simply the best curry we have ever had. It was so full of flavour, loads of chicken in there and the naan was to die for. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will certainly be back even if it's just for the take away. Well done the staff and chefs for providing us with such an excellent experience!

Great location to catch up with Friends. Absolutely Fantastic Food,excellent quality. Consistently Very Good, not had a bad meal yet. A warm Friendly Atmosphere, all the Staff are so helpful and polite nothing is too much trouble they will make any meal to your taste....

Food is good but the customer engagement is awful. You will enjoy the food if it arrives but I would not use chefonline to order delivery and their phone line connection is very poor so don't expect decent comms

Our first visit and our first Indian restaurant meal since lockdown. We will be back!

After a number of years as a customer of chilli lodge we have recently attempted to order our usual order only to be spoken to by an obnoxious and rude person over the phone. Trying to scrape every penny out of us with extra charges for tiny little tubs of mint sauce.. We have been regular customers of this restaurant for several years and have never had this problem before. The change of staff answering the phone is an obvious mistake on their part and if they’re ok with losing long time customers by penny pinching over a tiny cup of sauce then their loss.. We won’t be back and neither will the large number of our friends that order from there once they know about this..

Late by 40 mins again and food cold

We ordered at 7pm and we are still wait for the food at 9.10pm. Tried to call the restaurant to multiple time to find out what’s happening but the phone is constantly engaged (obviously disconnected). This is the first time we have ordered and it will be the last!!!

Excellent food. 4 very different dishes enjoyed and shared by our group. Well worth a visit for food quality.

Food and service here has always been spot on. Some items are slightly overpriced in comparison to other indian restaurants. Still a great local for us.
