Lush food, lush ambience, lovely staff. Landlord went above and beyond for us on both our visits here. Well worth a visit people.

Went here for a wedding anniversary meal with friends. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the service was amazing and the food was outstanding. Proper wholesome pub grub at very reasonable prices. I'll definitely go back there in the future.

The staff that run the pub and the regulars were incredibly friendly and welcoming. If I didn't live the other side of Bristol I'm certain that I'd frequent it. To top it off, it's the first time I've paid less than 3.50 for a pint of Amstel in years. If I'm ever in the area, I'm sure I'll pop back in. Thanks very much for having us all.

Steffan is an absolutely lovely host who is totally focused on giving his customers a great all round experience. A really nice clean and modern pub with lots of parking, a kids play area and a nice outdoor seating area too. A really friendly place. Will definitely be back again. Nothing not to like and highly recommend!

We have lived not far from the Charlton for nearly 2 years and have visited a handful of times and were not in a hurry to go back. We heard the the new owner Steffan had reached out to local publicans and decided to give it another try. What a difference. Good range of well kept lagers and warm attentive service. On the back of this we decided to try the food. I went for the burger and my partner had the nachos. The burger bun was freshly toasted and kept its form around a substantial burger and perfectly crispy bacon. The onion rings and fries were crisp with hardly a drop of oil on the paper. The chilli on the nachos was full of flavour with plenty of cheese throughout not just melted on top. Part way through our meal we were asked if everything was ok and if we needed anything, perfect customer care. A new member of staff was in training and both Steffan and the head bar person took the time to explain their expectations and show them what to do. In so many cases I have seen staff thrown in at the deep end to sink or swim. Very refreshing to see proper training delivered on the floor. The atmosphere was a little quiet with the sport on and no music but we went fairly early in the evening. There were a range of customers from guys enjoying the sport to a families out for a bite to eat. It really felt like a good old fashioned local that was welcoming for all. I would urge everyone to get behind Steffan and his team and support him to make a success of this local business.

Stef is a lovely bloke. Only been at the Charlton a few weeks, but made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Clean and tidy pub, decent pool table and atmosphere

Horrible experience in this pub with my family. Ten of us came in on Saturday night at 7pm wanting some food. We were told we couldn't be catered for as the numbers were too great! (A pub turning away food trade in this economic climate!) We had drinks instead so we added a spare table at the end of one of the booths to accommodate our numbers (Including a high chair for our one year old daughter). We were told by one of the staff that this was not allowed and we had to put it back as it blocks the gangway for the servers. The general attitude of all the staff was disinterested, rude and we certainly won't be returning.

Fantastic local Pub! Great food for a great price. Excellent selection of beers. Friendly atmosphere with live sport! Friendly staff and lovely outdoor area. Very lucky to have this well run pub around the corner from us. Keep up the great work!

Since the new ownership has come in, we now *really* enjoy stopping off here or having an evening at this pub! It's a great place to go with friends and your dogs too, and a great place to catch some sport too. And the prices for food and drink are very reasonable! Thank you, The Charlton team!

I've been to this pub quite often since it opened after refurbishment two years ago. The food was delicious, the service very nice and friendly. There has been a new management now for a few months now and the pub has definitely changed for the worse. Most of the staff behave as if they had to work as punishment. It's hard to count on a friendly and nice reception at the entrance. Service is indifferent at best. When I came for the first time a few weeks ago, only three tables were occupied and yet the tables were dirty, not prepared to receive new guests, dirty carpet and no one from the staff did anything about it. No one even bothered to ask if the food was okay. The second (and probably the last time) I was with friends yesterday. The pub looked even worse - tables rearranged after previous guests were flooded with drinks, litter on the floor, dirty toilets. I spent an hour and a half there and it wasn't until the end that one of the waitresses (I think) wiped four tables. She left the rest dirty. Plus, the young cook cleared the table instead of the waiters!

Went there Christmas Day lunchtime. Good atmosphere. Great bar service. Loved it!

Do not bother eating here. Food is the worse we ever had. Couldn’t even make a cheese sandwich correctly and it was even left under the heat lamp and it was disgusting. The chicken was as dry and the bloke said it’s the ingredients sent and how it was done in the microwave. I tried to make a joke of how absolutely awful it was by saying sorry lovey your meals today was sh1t as that was being polite tbh. I seriously didn’t expect the rude and unprofessional response. Definitely avoid. Ppl who know me know I would never normally complain but seriously it was shocking.

If taking children although nice play area and food is ok.... staff member children are not nice bullys other children including mine but seem to be up there every night so good luck I won't be visiting this pub again any time soon

The pub has had a lovely refurbishment and is really clean and bright, a lovely venue We had a great meal and there are a few vegetarian and vegan options. Really friendly staff, environment and we had fun. We will be going back again soon.

We were there for a party last night. Nice place with good prices to be honest. The staff were very friendly and the toilets were very clean. Not somewhere we're near usually but if we found ourselves in that neck if the woods we'd definitely call in. Would recommend

Very friendly and helpful. Daughter in law has severe dairy and egg allergy. They were exelent to make sure it was safe for her to eat. I had one of the best cooked steaks there.

The Charlton has been fully renovated and revamped in 2020- it's now a great local pub with good food, friendly staff and a good selection of drink - great to have a a nice pub again without the long walk to the high street- I fully recommend the roast dinner too!

We really enjoyed our delicious Sunday lunch a few weeks ago. Our plates were completely full and so were our bellies by the end.

Pleasantly surprised by The Charlton, friendly staff, obviously had some money spent on it recently, the menu was a good range of pub grub and all 4 of our party enjoyed their choices, my steak would be very good value even without the Chancellor helping out! I wish the Charlton well for the future, they are trying hard.

Food was amazing. Sevice was brilliant and they have tables set out nicely for social distancing. Would definitely come back again.

Waited an hour for food . They said we must have given them the wrong table number ? Meaning it was definitely our fault not THEM putting in the wrong number . Perhaps more experienced management needed to take responsibility when they make mistakes . Food fine . Might try again as we live local .

Great pub, mint staff, amazing beer, terrific food.

Just been refurbished so smells and feels really clean. Not doing food yet which is quite sensible as it let's the Staff get used to it all. Nice to have somewhere local to enjoy.
