Lovely family-run hotel. Great location for exploring Armagh. Rooms were spotlessly clean and plenty of space. We'll be back next time we're in Armagh for certain.

Family hotel with outdated charm. They were clearly overwhelmed with our larger travel group. The rooms were clean and OK. The place is beautiful!

Passing thru on the way to Moy, I had always wanted to visit some of the places my grandad went while he was in Ireland. Instead, my travel companion decided to go North, lol! So the next best thing was to go off the Duke’s Safety spots, as if was good enough for him, I’d surely be safe ;). And right he was! This place is a gem. Protected by Irish Volunteers when need be, and the pub fair is generous and delicious or grab a pint if not a meal in the dining hall. Regardless is worth the stop. Or the stay at 50 quid a night.

Place a bit dated but food nice although menu could be more exciting and is done out on flimsy paper, reasonably priced for what is on offer

Bar type food. I don't know whether I enjoyed my burger as I had nothing to eat all day or was just good. For me it was just convenience as I stayed there. In the town are some brilliant places though

Purchase vouchers here every year for Christmas for my parents as they love the food, but I walked through the restaurant from b&m car park to the next street and I couldn't believe how I was spoken too. The lady from reception approached me and asked 'are yous OK girls?' To my mum, and my friend I had visiting from England. I replied 'yes thanks I'm just going to the car park'. She then replied with her back to me and shouted it across the foyer 'yeah that's right girls sure just yous go on through our business and use our services, use are car park there too sure!!' (Very sarcastically). I don't think this is very professional for someone who was apparently the "boss" to approach me in this way when she could see that I had a cast on both feet following earlier surgery in the week. And too add onto that we didn't even use the services or the car park!! Jumping to conclusions. Was an absolute disappointment and embarrassment to my friend who had came from England to see Armagh and this was we how were treated - we had also planned to eat here the next evening and I was bringing my friend through the restaurant to show her how nice it was. I hope this gets the attention of the management and they have a serious think about how they treat their clients as I won't be back or won't be purchasing vouchers here ever again.

The actual restaurant has a very homely atmosphere, with locals in the bar and the fireplace at the entrance. However the restaurant's menu isn't varied enough for my liking, with little vegetarian options. If you're a fan of 'traditional' food like roasts etc then this may be the place for you The food is nice, especially the desserts, and staff are friendly, but I wish the menu could be widened, with more vegetarian options

This place is really dated we were here for a celebration dinner the staff couldn't really cope with the numbers as there was a few large group of parties on the same day. One member of staff wasn't very pleasant, but the other girls were doing their best to accomadate us all. The roast beef was very tough and the vegetables were cold

Not a lot to say other than a disappointing experience . Food either "over microwaved" or left too long under the heat lamp ! First place I ever visited where nobody even bothered to ask, was everything okay. Perhaps that's why it was so quiet. Seems to fair better if you are a local.

Turner's Bistro which is downstairs in The Charlemont Arms Hotel serves delicious food. I've eaten in it a few times and always love it - they do an awesome vegetable crumble and the wine selection is great. A highlight is the Gourmet Night - I have been to one (Italian themed - however each night is themed differently) but do plan to go to many more as I had the most amazing night. Five courses of truly outstanding food and accompanying wines - absolutely scrumptious. A beautiful night (very reasonably priced) and the service was impeccable. Better food than I've had in New York, London, Edinburgh, Madrid, Barcelona and many other cities around the world. Can't praise this place enough - the people of Armagh are extremely lucky to have this gem of a restaurant...

We booked to go here as a rainy day trip. I was a little sad that on the day we were the only Afternoon Tea booking there so there was no atmosphere. The room itself is lovely, the set up at the table was pretty and the staff were very nice but the food itself was sadly a let down. It felt more like having tea and biscuits at a great aunts house than afternoon tea out. Rather than fancy tea cakes it was what I would describe as a selection of those locally made biscuits you grab from the local petrol station when visiting somebody.

On March 2nd prior to attending a show in the Marketplace Theatre a group of 22 had a meal in this restaurant. We were not disappointed. The food was very good and plentiful and the service was excellent - a great start to what turned out to be a most enjoyable and successful outing.

Staff were very helpful and a bit of old fashioned local hospitality, very much not the stuffy service you get in some hotels bars/dining rooms. The food came quickly and was excellent value, as were the puddings!!. Intending another trip to Armagh in the not too distant future, as this was a first visit and will definitely call here again.

called in for lunch when we were in Armagh, lunch was fine, although the Charlemont gives you that old fashioned feeling when you walk in the door, not sure if they want it like that or if it just does need a good overhaul on the decorating, but its a nice place to visit

I've just written a review recommending the bar meals at the Charemont, especially at lunchtime. The bar cannot be beaten for value and good traditional food. I have had the occasional Sunday lunch, which was always excellent, in the dining room and the food is very good value for money. It's one of the few places that seems not to have downhill at all in the past 30 years, so that's a recommendation in itself. The friendliness of the staff is exceptional and it's a very child-friendly place. Armagh has changed considerable in the past 10 years, but the Charlemont, remains as good as ever.

Fancied a bite to eat on Friday evening. We settled on the Charlemont Arms for a bar snack and it turned out to be a great choice. The service was efficient and friendly and the menu had plenty to chose from. The bar has been redecorated, creating a lovely ambience in which to enjoy a really nice early evening meal. Congrats to the Charlemont for great food and good service.

Although very old fashioned in dinning room - the food in this family run hotel is brilliant. Hubby had steak and says it is as good today as it was 20 years ago. Recommend for good hearty food.

It was pouring rain on a Monday morning when we arrived here In Poyntzpass on a recommendation. We didn’t know this independent place existed. This is a small village about 8 miles from Newry and this cafe is almost adjacent to the old canal towpath, which is part of the Ulster Way so hikers, bikers and walkers are a mainstay of their business. Like many places they currently offer the current government eat out to help out deal that ends at the end of August 2020. It’s about the only popular thing this lousy government has done in its first year in power. So we sat in and it was really cosy and homely. We were captivated by the sophisticated and shiny coffee machine - apparently it was only installed yesterday. The owner explained the inner workings of this contraption and I was impressed with the technology behind our coffee. We ordered large cappuccinos, one toasted chicken & pineapple toastie with side salad and one poached eggs (2) with avocado mash on sourdough with chilli flakes. All in all £8.5 for two. The service was ace and it’s really worth a visit or several.

It is both a place of quiet retreat and of friendly embrace. Everyone that walks in is treated with an attention to detail and customer service that puts nearly every coffee chain stores in Ireland to shame. The coffee is divine, the food is delicious and the service is unbeatable. And the craic? what can I say...it's in the Pot!
