Have used Charcoal Grill consistently over the years and have always found the food to be delicious. However on the last few orders the lamb shish has been tough and tasteless,

Dear Owner / Manager If you have a bad day I can forgive you. But these bad days has been for a while now. Today I ordered Lamb Meat and Chips and ask you to make sure that the food are very HOT as the last few times was lukewarm. I also asked you for Mayo. What happened? The dish was swimming in Mayo *sick* and it arrived lukewarm. At the end I had to remove the Mayo and reheat the food. Why paying £30 when I have to do the cooking anyway? By the way .... your Mayo taste horrible ... have you put sugar in it? I have given you a few more chance and today was definitely the LAST one.

i have been a regular customer at CHARCOAL GRILL FOR OVER 10 YEARS but todays experience i will never walk in this takeaway again . today i ordered my usual kebab i always ask for chill sauce to be put in a tub . i noticed the tubs have got a little smaller but this was not even half full ,so i asked for a little bit of extra to be but on my kebab, the manager then wanted to charge 1.50 extra for my pot , i said you have got to be joking he said prices have gone up , i then a received a barrel of abuse ! its not the money but this guy needs to seriously needs a lesson in customer service ! i will never go in there again you MR MANAGER YOU HAVE LOST A LOYAL CUSTOMER OVER A DRIZZLE OF CHILI SAUCE GOOD LUCKI WITH YOUR OVERCHARGING !

We went for food after visiting the bar next door. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, the food was nice, I can't fault it and would happily go again. It was good to have the option to eat in so we could have a nice sit down meal. Nice place to unwind before all heading home after a night out.

Staff are friendly and food is always good. Portion size is ok but could be a tad bigger. Much cleaner than the kebab shop by Southgate tube station

I work in Southgate and when I get a chance often go here for lunch. The chicken shish is lovely and I am always greeted with a friendly welcome. I have never had a bad experience, and my Dad who lived locally would regularly order take-away from here which was always very good. I would be happy to recommend this for a casual meal or take-away and will continue to go when I can.

Ordered a falafel kebab, halloumi side and chips with my partner - absolutely no meat in our order. Bit into my ‘falafel’ kebab to find it was in fact lamb. As a vegetarian, you can imagine I was not best pleased - especially given we live around a 15 minute walk away. Walked back with the lamb kebab and was immediately met with denial by the man serving and a shrug from the man handling the food. Walked out from frustration - absolutely appalling service.

It was purely the name! Was staying in the area, wanted a quick steak, saw “the charcoal grill” and assumed, that whilst the dining area didn’t look that good, they would cook a decent steak. They don’t! Possibly the worst steak I have had for a long time. Cheap meat, cooked badly. Asked for medium rare, got well done. The prices aren’t cheap either. Maybe it’s a good kebab place but would I go back? no chance.

Have eaten several times recently at the Charcoal Grill - principally on the recommendation of #1 son who is, shall we say, more of an on-the-hoof kebab eater... Portions are huge, service very friendly and obliging. The smell of charcoal and over all ambience lend one to close ones eyes and think of being on holiday - not a bad mode of thinking I would venture. My partner cannot get enough of the Chicken in Soya Sauce whilst my own tastes venture more to the mixed kebabs. One word of warning - these are roughly the size of Belgium so be hungry! Complete meal for two and some drinks rolls in under £30.00 so I would say far from overpriced for this area.

Over the last three months we noticed a downward trend at the Charcoal Grill. At our last (and final) visit, that the meat was very salty and greasy, there was more ribs and chicken and less Kofte or Lamb. ... The Salad was actually completely missing and the service was slow. It wasn't busy, it wasn't Friday or Saturday night it wasn't good enough to keep us coming back. What a shame. We have moved on.

I tried takeaway couple of times. It was ok. I just had donor kebab. My husband and I ate in the restaurant and we were disappointed. My husband had chicken escalope which was quite hard and I ordered grilled chicken leg but it wasn't leg ... it was chicken breast which was ok. Salad wasn't fresh. The prices are way too high for what it serves and its ambience. The service wasn't that great. It was partially self-service .... glasses were set up on the table already. We order 2 diet cokes. The waiter came back with 2 cans of diet cokes. We have to pour them ourselves. I just thought it doesn't work for us. It charges restaurant prices but we didn't get the service that is expected at a restaurant.

situated just outside of Southgate tube this is a very good kebab shop if you like that sort of thing. award winning and apparently not using minced meat (but the read deal) I had a lamb kebab - pretty good although the meat was a little fatty and unremarkable. overall restaurant is clean and staff polite. recommended.

We have visited the Charcoal Grill twice now, once for takeaway and once for a sit down meal. On both occasions we were very satisfied with the food, the portion size and the prices. The restaurant is clean, and has a friendly atmosphere. The staff are friendly but not pushy so we ate at our own pace, and enjoyed our meal together. One point to note : Charcoal Grill DO NOT accept payment by card, but there is a high street bank cash machine just moments away.
