Stayed in the village for a week and ate here several times. The food was really good. There was a dog friendly area in the pub which was great for us as our dog is quite big and nosey so was good to have a separate area. The pub had a friendly atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this pub.

Very enjoyable evening meal with good service. Great to visit a pub that caters both for holiday makers and its own community. The food was lovely. I had the fish and chips whilst my wife had the burger and chips after sharing the small plate choice of calamari. Great value too!

With limited places to eat in Manorbier and a regular influx of new visitors it seems the staff can be as rude as they wish. The food was very enjoyable, however the arrival time of all food ordered was so off it meant 2/4 had virtually finished eating before the other half of the order had even arrived. Staff responded with indifference when queried the whereabouts of the rest of the order, if anything making myself feel an inconvenience and rude for doing so. Quite pricey but the food quality reflected this, shame the service and organisation didn't. Staff need training on customer service, efficiency and manners.

In mid-July we hosted a welcome party for our daughter’s wedding at the Castle Inn Pub. What a WONDERFUL venue, and what delicious food!! Amber and her team were a delight to work with, and so thoughtfully put together a canopy in the outdoor garden incase of bad weather, but it was beautiful outside! An excellent evening had by all!

This place was recommended to us. First of all, it's DOG FRIENDLY inside and outside. Parking is limited so you have to park anywhere in the village. It is a small pub, and a lot of people would walk straight back out. This is a local pub with no frills and not fancy. My drink was a very nice pint, a well maintained cellar. The food was excellent. I had the fire bowl very tasty. My partner had a Korean flatbed, WOW, it was massive again, very tasty. 10 out of 10 for the food. It is best if you book because at least five family's was turned away. Forgot to say good price. It didn't get 5 stars because of the parking.

Excellent meal at The Castle this evening. Early evening table; the place was very, very busy but friendly and efficient service and great food. There are many reviews about queuing, uninterested young staff, waiting for orders but to be honest, chill out guys, this place is buzzing, which is the best recommendation you can have for a top place to eat, enjoy the company of your friends, be patient and respectful of the young people, who are not uninterested, just busy and doing their best to keep everyone happy. Great job Castle peeps, well done!!

Recommended by family, first visit today. Unfortunately, my mam didn't mention when booking I'm coeliac so had to wait 25 minutes for the gf roll to defrost. Have to say in fairness though, it was delicious! Served warm. I'd come straight from work so my bad, starving! The Whole Sea Bream was lush. My parents had the rib eye and chicken Caesar salad with fries and veg. Both absolutely loved; Great food well cooked Gutted I couldn't have the fries but totally understand as obviously needed to let them know before hand of dietary requirements. The staff are lovely, eager to please although could do with a little extra training, obviously, as the season beds in so will they 🤗

We visited here last Sunday, 21st April 2024, after asking for recommendations for somewhere for lunch whilst visiting Manorbier Castle. We were initially after Sunday lunch but the Castle came so highly recommended that we decided to go there despite them not offering Sunday lunch, and are so glad we did! We were a family of 4 with two large Labradors and were put in an area of the pub completely to ourselves which allowed the dogs to relax without getting in anyone’s way. Our server, Tom D, went above and beyond for us and was absolutely a highlight of our trip away. He took the time to get to know the dogs and upon learning that one of them was a rescue he treated her with the upmost care and gentleness, even using her name to let her know he would be walking past her to clear a table! The meals were excellent, all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the portion sizes were huge. It was just what we needed to fuel our drive home. I just wish we’d found it earlier on in our stay so that we could’ve visited them more. I honestly cannot recommend enough, particularly if you have dogs.

Good place for a drink. Food ok but chips were not nice, they were like left overs from the bottom of a deep fat fryer. Pub says it is dog friendly but dogs and owners can only sit in a designated area that is not as comfortable as the rest of the pub. The pub is lovely and the staff are helpful and friendly so these issues spoilt the overall experience.

Visited this quirky pub whilst staying in rented property nearby. Was unable to get in on Saturday as fully booked (band playing) so booked for the following night. Six of us had an array of meals, all of which were excellent value for the money paid. So good, my partner and I returned again prior to returning home. Yes, the service is a bit chaotic and you have to queue at times. But that is a result of its popularity. Attentive and helpful young staff. Would happily recommend

Not a great pub/inn its quirky but done wrongly in "my opinion" the service was sloppy from the start it was every clear there has been no formal training in service, even common sense on how to meet and greet customers would of helped, it really seemed like it was a chore to be served from the minimal beer selection at the makeshift bar, when our food was brought to our table it came without cutlery and missing condiments after they were politely asked for, nothing major I know but added to the lack of care and attention, the food was hot but the chips were over cooked and chipped into some weird fashion plus over priced from a very limited menu. The outside was untidy and in need of some tlc, I would of thought this would of been dealt with earlier as its the start of the season now, there was a younger element sitting outside the main door smoking and im lead to believe one of which was from the kitchen, considering there is a beer garden there it would of been more appropriate to smoke there instead of partially blocking the pathway to the toilets which are disgusting! and below par for such a venue I have seen nicer ones in small local clubs that have had some pride taken looking after them, we won't be back there and I would suggest before being disappointed like we were to look for the other nicer venues not to far away, really disappointing considering we were told it was the best pub! not.

There is a good selection of beers and wine. The pub has a good atmosphere inside and along with the large garden out the back if the weather is good, would be great. The staff are young and w’re very pleasant and helpful when needed. You have no idea how much room there is from the front and it is tucked away in a small village not far from a good beach. We were staying down the road (about 100m!) at Castlemead for a few days and ventured here for a drink on our first night. Lovely sunny terrace at the back with plenty of (distanced!) seating and table service (unfortunately the norm these days). So, when it's busy you can wait a while for a drink as you can't just go to the bar and with its very popular pizza takeaway service, this place is usually buzzing. We ate here the following evening. Food was ok - we both had the curry, but wished we'd gone for the pizza afterwards which looked delicious and obviously 'properly' done in the big pizza oven out back. All in all, a great place - very friendly and accommodating in what must be very trying times for pub landlords. Thank you!

I visited the Castle Inn yesterday evening with family. Unfortunately the young staff members were put under a great deal of pressure with this venue being greatly under staffed. We were told when ordering that there was a long wait for food, but we weren’t expecting it to be 1 hour 45.minutes. It turned out that we weren’t the only table waiting a very long time for meals. Also, none of the social distancing guidelines were adhered to, with tables being very close together. No contact details were taken for the track and trace system that hospitality is required to follow. This was the only pub that we visited in Pembrokeshire for food that did not follow the guidelines. This, under different circumstances, would be a lovely pub to visit. It has a very pretty beer garden and a good atmosphere when customers aren’t complaining about the wait. Management need to sort out their staff numbers and supply them with PPE.

We had lunch here on our walk from Freshwater east to Tenby. it is a quaint pub with various parts to it. We placed our order, although there was some confusion about the number of soups ordered! I ordered the Glamorgan sausages, which turned out to be more like a cheese and leek burger. Most of the meals arrived in small batches, but the four soups seemed to take for ever. We did wonder if they had made the soup from scratch after we had ordered it!

From the outside the pub is nondescript, and I wouldn't have made it my first choice for a meal. However, appearances are deceptive, and after checking reviews we gave it a try and we had a fantastic meal. Other reviews all mentioned the chips, so I was expecting great things. They were possibly the best chips ever! Thin and very crispy, and a huge portion too. The fish I had was in a light crispy batter and very good, but the best bit was the salad 'garnish' . To call it a garnish is to totally undersell it - what it actually was was a beautifully presented simple bowl of green and white perfection! Shredded lettuce, rocket, cress, tiny slivers of cucumber and onion made a lovely refreshing accompaniment to the meal. My husband had the burger, which looked delicious and was accompanied by a different style of garnish, no limp lettuce and soggy tomato here. Definitely recommend.

Four of us walked here from the youth hostel. We first sat in the beer garden and tried some of the local beers. Being a Saturday we asked what time they would start serving food, we were told 6 pm, so just before 6 we went inside found a table and checked out the menu. The food came quickly and was excellent. I ordered the steak pie which I found hard to finish as it was filling on a hot day. Excellent beers, service and food.

Staying nearby so we walked down to the castle,I went in to ask if dogs were allowed in and they said of course and they had a front room with a few tables where you could eat with the pooches. Lovely menu and specials board,we both had the cod and chips it was delicious and the staff friendly will definitely return

Mixed reviews so cautious. But experience was excellent. Welcoming barman. Table booked for 6 people for dinner. We mostly had cod, chips and peas which were cooked to perfection - light and crunchy batter, great chips (and a small rocket salad thrown in). Very casual atmosphere, but that's OK.

We booked a table at 7:30 for 4 adults and 3 young children. Arrived on time and placed our food orders soon after. After an hour of waiting our food was nowhere to be seen. On inquiring and the staff weren’t very apologetic and didn’t seem to care. One of the waitresses did make an effort after the fact to apologise and be as helpful as possible. The food took a further 20 minutes to come out and at this point the kids were virtually asleep and wouldn’t touch their food. We made a complaint and was offered a discount and free ice cream, which we turned down as this wasn’t really appropriate considering how late it was for the kids. We quickly ate our food and packed up to leave. I went to settle the bill and suggested that I’d like the kids meals for free as compensation. I waited for the landlord to come out of the kitchen to discuss the matter. The first thing he said when he came out was “I’m not going to give you a discount”. I explained the situation with the children, at which point something in his head flipped and he turned into the Hulk. At the top of his voice, making sure everyone in the pub heard him - “HOW DARE YOU, IN MY PUB. GET OUT OF MY PUB NOW. DON’T COME BACK HERE” at this point the whole pub was silent and in shock. I respected his wishes and got out of there as quickly as I could in fear of what might happen next, as he followed me to the door continuing to shout. Fortunately the children had already left and didn’t witness this unjustified act of aggression. I’ve never experienced anything like this before and certainly won’t be going back there. Such a shame as on the face of it the pub looks really nice.

Stopped here to sample the cider whilst my Wife and child went to the nearby beach, i spent a very pleasant hour here in the beer garden / terrace at the rear of the pub, there was building work going on at the time, other than that it was well kept and the cider was excellent.

Lovely looking pub but we turned up to eat and the landlord was very unwelcoming, saying 'you'll be lucky' when we said we were hoping to eat. Turned 8 of us away without a sorry at 7.00pm, lost all that business, didn't offer an alternative evening or anything. Bad hospitality skillz in my view

We were in Manorbier for a short stop to have a little look around, felt a bit peckish and fancied a pint so myself, my wife and two friends popped into this inn for a quick bite to eat. What a find! The decor of the pub is unusual shall we say but very welcoming and atmospheric. The staff were extremely helpful, chatty and attentive which further added to the pub's charm. The food however was incredible and without doubt the best 'pub grub' I have had anywhere.

We stayed near here over the weekend and went following a recommendation from friends and we weren’t disappointed. The food was freshly cooked and the chips were to die for. The menu is varied and the beer garden was lovely ( the sun helped)

Visited this pub twice whilst staying at Wyndhill Hideaway Manorbier for a week. Great food and atmosphere. Friday night was very busy but a table was still found for us. Fish and chips excellent the best I’ve had. Helpful friendly staff. I would definitely recommend.

Stayed here for a couple of nights over the Easter weekend as were doing some walking on the coast path. Lovely little independent pub with mix of cosy interior rooms, all of which overflowed with a welcoming and happy atmosphere.

We had a really nice meal here - I especially liked the garlic and chilli prawns with crusty bread starter. We didn't have desserts, so can't comment. A lovely old fashioned quirky pub.

Great little local pub in the fabulous village of Manorbier. Ate here several times over the bank holiday weekend, would recommend you book a table or eat before 6.30 during busy holiday periods. Service and food excellent on most occasions. The Greek salad was the only dish that let them down, needing lots more feta cheese to be called a Greek salad! The blanchebait was superb, the fish pie dreamy and the beef chilli the best I’ve ever had! Beer and wine reasonably priced too.

Staying up the road at Brynteg, the Castle was a recommendation. We had a super meal; home made fish pie, declared delicious and an excellent fish and chips. Great starters too, reasonably priced wine and a well kept pint or three of Sharpe's Atlantic.

No record of our pre-booked table. Very slow service, dishes arrived intermittently, with some of us waiting half an hour after others had finished eating. No beer available! One dish inedible / uncooked, had to be sent back (Welsh Rarebit, which was actually a cold sauce on toast). The very young staff were polite enough, but the acting manager gave no good explanation for the above. Never again. The experience marred a nice morning spent walking in beautiful Manorbier.

Overcharged for children's meals should have cost £25.50 actually paid £35.00 after waiting 50 mins for our drinks, I asked for refund food orders had not even been passed to the kitchen , realised later they had only refunded the correct price for the children's meals leaving me out of pocket to the tune of £9.50 trading standards to be informed shortly, based on my own experience I would not recommend this establishment, it looks lovely but completely fails to deliver

Booked a Sunday lunch out for family...although we frequently visit The Bar we had never tried their Sunday Dinners. As soon as we walked in we had a lovely welcome from Liam and his team. Our orders were taken straight away and within 5 minutes our drinks and food were on the table. Very generous portions, I've never been out to Sunday dinner anywhere that had the choice of seasonal vegetables we had. Everything was cooked to perfection. Very much tasted like home cooking. Fresh and delicious. We had no room or need for a pudding! With that view, a lovely relaxed friendly atmosphere and decent prices you can't go wrong. Highly recommend. Thank you Liam, we will be returning !
