Food excellent,staff very attentive and pleasant,a really enjoyable experience will be going again. We especially appreciated the quiet background music,making the atmosphere relaxing.

Seriously disappointed. Food took 40 minutes to arrive. Staff were surly and unengaged. The food, when it arrived, was tasty although arrived on a board and could have done with a plate to transfer to, to eat from. The staff really let the place down. Barman didn’t know how to make lime and lemonade. Serving staff were just short of rude and had no people skills at all, obviously only there for the £. Staff constantly coming in and out of the front door going for smoke breaks. Staff coats hung on coat hooks inside door. Hugely lacking any professionalism. Such a shame in a lovely venue

This renovated former flour mill dating back to 1813 is now the home of a characterful restaurant combining great atmosphere with first-class food and service. The building is steeped in history, retaining its original wooden floorboards, support beams and much of the upgraded milling and grinding machinery installed at the beginning of the 20th century. Food is served from 10am until 9pm Monday to Saturday and from 12 noon until 6pm on Sundays and guests have a wide choice of tables laid out across two floors. There are also private dining rooms and a space for corporate events and entertaining. The menu offers a range of tasty and interesting dishes and includes some items that will provide a new experience for many diners. We visited Black Pool Mill restaurant for a private family function and did not leave feeling disappointed. The experience was memorable from start to finish. We will return!

Booked for Sunday lunch for 13 of us. Had a lovely side room. They were very accommodating, let us put some banners up for a 60th birthday. Starters arrived. Then the main meal. Half the group had their meal before the rest of us , had to wait a few more minutes for the veg. Apart from that, the meals were delicious. Belly pork, beef, salmon, and the vegan option all went down a treat. Would recommend, and definitely go back there.

Waited 10 minutes to be seated. Building was cold and asked for window to be closed due to draft. Food was good , however, one of the group was handed her meal on a long board and it didn’t balance correctly as the table was too small , boiling sauce all over her hand and clothes , not even asked if she was ok. Disappointing as it was a 50 birthday celebration ! Cash not also accepted, even though £ on menu , please omit as this the case

We pre booked this for a birthday Sunday lunch. We arrived on time to find that the veggie option was sold out and were not given any alternative. Two vegetarians ended up with just a few vegetables! The room was freezing cold and the meal, when it eventually arrived was poor with not enough vegetables and parsnips which were completely raw. All in all a very poor meal with disinterested staff. Will not be going back!

Beautiful setting but disappointed with the rest of the experience.Very overpriced for a poorly presented and inedible meal .The ham hock was greasy ,full of fat and mostly tasteless ,two small sticks of celery ,6 grapes ,1/4 of sliced apple,chunk of bread and whipped butter and a chunk of overated 'local' cheese for the price of £16 .We paid extra for coleslaw ! We did mention to our server at the time ,and was assured it would be passed onto the chef .We waited 40 mins for 3 Cold meals.The restaurant, all 3 floors were busy with pre mothering Sunday lunches .We would have to think twice before dining there again unfortunately.

What an amazing experience. Fantastically finished themed restaurant with amazing food and service. We had a private room, table of 10 all having 3 courses for lunch, the salmon and prawns to start and the burger for main was delicious. We will be back 👍

Special family meal - incredible building, friendly staff and lovely food. We had a lovely Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday - really recommended for a special occasion.

A big disappointment was so looking to a nice evening. Waited 40 minutes for drinks to arrive they arrived one by one food was ok but over priced starter pigeon breast with mash no imagination and obviously been on hot plate for a while as dry.Staff need serious training passed plates down the table instead of placing in front of customer. Asked for plates to be passed to them no puddings or coffee offered very slow service overall very disappointing started clearing main course before everyone had finished. Staff obviously wanted a early finish.

Brilliant evening, good food but the bread was dry, lovely and unique setting, fantastic customer service. Only real negative - we were very disappointed to find the restaurant did not accept cash (only found out at the till). Great otherwise.

The Black Pool Mill is a superb restaurant in the charming venue of a former Mill, which has several floors for different groups of guests. The service was courteous, friendly and luxurious, for instance we were all offered a glass of champagne as soon as we stepped through the door. Whilst eating it was as though we had an entire team waiting on us and on standby just in case we needed anything at all. The food itself was delicious and very filling, and the drinks and cocktails were excellent and exotic - I myself had a virgin espresso martini. Just to be really harsh there was a slight error where I was given the wrong drink and left waiting for a little while, but other than that it made a perfect Christmas Day lunch and couldn't have been better, hence why I confidently award the Black Pool Mill 5 stars.

We were made to feel welcome on arrival and shown to a table with comfortable seats. The other diners were friendly and there was a warm happy atmosphere with everyone chatting freely without being overheard. We skipped starters and one of us ordered smoked salmon with homemade pesto, balsamic tomatoes and a micro herb salad with king prawns and two of us chose seared pigeon breast with smoked mash, sweet and sour baby onions which melted in your mouth and green beans. The staff were attentive, efficient and unobtrusive. We enjoyed a delicious sticky ginger cake with crème anglaise for dessert and agreed that it’s easy to understand why Blackpool Mill has become one of our favourite places to eat.

We had an evening meal here as a large group of friends post Christmas. The location is beautiful and the building which as been restored is impressive. The booking process was very easy and there was plenty of space. Our table was booked for 8pm which although a little late worked for us with childcare etc. The food was tasty (perhaps could have done with a little more seasoning), if a little expensive. The food didn't quite match the location and price. I thought the starters were too large and the sauce I had with main didn't have as much flavour as I would have hoped for. I think the service could have been improved - the order taking was chaotic and instead of going around the table and asking everyone individually they wanted us to raise our hands / shout out if we wanted the same thing. I don't think this was the most efficient way of taking orders. We also had to order starters, mains and desserts at the same time. I understand why they asked us to do this as we were a fairly large table and the kitchen closes at 11. I decided not to order dessert although would have preferred to have decided after the main course was served. I guess this is a tip for large groups to book an earlier table. I would go back again but there are probably better options available in this price bracket in the wider area.

The Sunday lunch was one of the best meals I have had for a long time. The sirloin beef was tender and tasty and plenty of vegetables. The cheese plater for sweet was very good with a good selection. Service good and the setting is superb. One improvement would be serve the gravy separately as not all like the same amount of gravy but this did not detract from a great meal.

As a three generation family group we had a fabulous lunch today at the stunning Blackpool Mill. What an amazing setting to dine in, totally impressed by the history of this remarkable building. After sharing a bread basket our exceptional meals arrived, 3 went for the fish and 2 for the steak. We were all totally satisfied by our wonderful meals. We then decided to try the desserts. Again 3 for the cheese cake and 2 for the tiramasu, and I have to say they are phenomenal. Highly recommend this restaurant and next time we might go for a walk too!

Have been wanting to go here for a while since it reopened. Was not disappointed! Lovely ambience and incredibly attentive staff. Food was tasty with decent portion sizes. Had a nose around upstairs and noted the lovely private function rooms - will be popping back for a special occasion with family!

Nice food, if rather expensive for what it is. Service was slow and inattentive, and we were served doubles when we hadn't asked for them! They did put it right though, even if we were staggering out of there!

Had a lovely meal. The location is amazing and the history of the mill has been incorporated into the restaurant area which is very nice. We had the steak and the cheeseburger from the lunch menu, both of which were delicious. The staff were great and our waitress was very helpful and polite (can't remember name unfortunately). The only drawback is that I'd say the puddings are a little pricey, but the mains were definitely around industry standard currently (it is quite a fancy place).

First time we’ve been to this restaurant. Ambience and location lovely but, it stops there. Food cold, very slow service, very pricey wine list, very disappointing.

The setting in stunning but it's very much style over substance here! People were clearly coming in to visit the building refurbishment. The food doesn't match the venue at all. The service is very normal with tentative servers, immaculately laid tables and lovely linen napkins...

Business dinner for 16 people. All food preordered. Absolutely delicious. All group enjoyed all starters and mains. Only grumble was a wait of up to 15 minutes between first and last dishes coming out. Nice wine options but a bit surprised when we ordered another bottle of wine at 10.15pm to be told they stopped serving alcohol at 10. Perhaps someone could have told us before 10 that this was the case to give the opportunity to order then.

Really really disappointed, this is my second visit, first was just a pit stop on a walk with my daughter, ordered a coffee and hot chocolate at the bar, unfortunately we were turned away as I only had CASH and they refused to take it!!!! Then today 3 tables had customers on them at 1.30pm and we were refused a table as we hadn't made a reservation and they had a function upstairs and 3 tables downstairs with people on the, the lady said they couldn't take any more people in the restaurant due to the function although standing outside the restaurant walking back to the car you could book a table online for 15 minutes time.... really really disappointed.. I definitely won't try a third time Also it was absolutely freezing inside the restaurant, radiators were off...people in the restaurant still had coats on ... Absolutely beautiful place but unfortunately I'll never know what the food is like 👍🏻 Good luck with the future

i am local to the area and have had several lunches here this year, and i do find the service and quality are not holding up earlier in the year the fish and chips was spot on nice crunchy batter and crispy chips bur recently...

Beautiful restoration of old mill. Ambitious restaurant offer but unmatched by poor menu choices & expensive pricing. Friendly, willing waiting staff need more training to deliver high end service. Ambience would be improved by lighting dimmed & redirected away from people's faces.

I took my children on a Saturday evening for dinner, the driveway leading to the mill was grand with the mill standing elegantly in view, we were shown to our table, which was surrounded by history of the mill, magnificent! Service was impeccable, we were looked after from start to finish with a smile and professional service, not too intrusive. Food was a delight, the menu was easy to the eye, good choices throughout. The children's menu was great, my children were spoilt for choice. I opted for the vegetarian option of charred hispi cabbage, beetroot and crispy parsnip, amazing! What a refreshing change to the normal vegetarian options! This mill is a gem, and so reasonably priced for the quality of food! I highly recommend 👌

Such a stunning renovation and location. Seriously let down by the quality of the food ! It has such potential to be a high end A la Carte restaurant, but they need to recognise that guests will only return if the food meets the same quality of the refurbishment.

Beautifully and thoughfully refurbished watermill.Fabulous decor, tasteful with a luxurious ambiance. Top class staff, brilliant chefs, top quality produce. Surroundings outside with lovely terrace in heart of Pembrokeshire countryside, swallows and rushing water. Absolutely recommend.Breakfast is perfection.

Great ambiance in a recently refurbished old mill. The grinding mechanisms are still in situ and occupy pride of place within the building with tables arranged over two floors around it. Service was friendly. The food was nice but not exceptional and I expected better for the price. Glad I went and 3.5 stars would more accurately represent my feelings abut Blackpool Mill.

Unfortunate lunch. Despite a lovely renovation, portions were minuscule. The food took nearly 45 minutes to turn up. Would not recommend. Disappointing!

Lovely surroundings great building. Menu a bit limited and my Welsh rarebit was a pretty cold. Asked for some mayo for my salad but it didn't arrive until I had finished. The place was almost empty so I don't know what it would be like if it was busy!

First visit for ice creams and teas. Lovely calm atmosphere, spacious sitting area and quick service. Reasonably priced . The honeycomb ice cream was delicious.

Where do I start A beautiful building and surroundings, all went down hill then. A friend and I went here for a special meal. We both ordered risotto with basil and chicken. It was disgusting, it looked like lumpy wallpaper paste. We sent it back only to be told the chef said it was bad. I then ordered chicken salad and that was far from the standered for a place like this. We also had to remind the waitress that we ordered drinks and had not received them. . .

Stunning venue, tastefully decorated and sympathetic to its surroundings. The staff were amazing and made a real fuss of a family members birthday. Compliments to the Chef and their team, delicious, flavoursome food. We’ll be back and cannot wait to return at Christmas!

We had a Welsh cream tea, we were served cold, straight from fridge, stale fruit scones and cold, dry Welsh cakes without butter. The tea was good and hot. Not impressed. The mill has been beautifully restored.

So, here goes... beautiful place, food very good but details were missed e.g.needing to request appropriate cutlery for specific dishes. Huge time lapse between being seated and when we could order the first course. Again, delays to enable ordering subsequent courses. Left in a dark room upstairs on our own where there was no real atmosphere of belonging to the restaurant next door( where it was lovely, light and more desirable) We had booked in plenty of time. Some people pay for separate rooms for private dining but we wanted to be a part of an evening which was intended as a celebration. Very disappointed. We didn't feel looked after adequately .

Sorry, Not Sorry. I carefully booked this place for my wife's 40th, having gone through a very aggressive double strength treatment of Chemo, late stage 4. It was awful. The food was 90 minutes late and when it came, the kids chicken meal was so dry I could not cut through it with a knife. The steaks were cooked badly and wrong, bernaise sauce and veg served cold, and the risotto was mushed and overboiled. I asked politely for improvements, and fed back privately not wishing to ruin the massive occasion for my wife. A defensive manager offered to recook food which I nicely explained why this would cause a scene, and ruin the occasion. A lovely serving staff took desert orders and we waited a further 45 minutes for desert. Avoid this place. It's horrendous.

Wonderful location but bitterly disappointed with the service, 2 drink orders messed up, waited over an hour for our mains, food was good but lack of vegetable choice, ordered an irish coffee but they had no idea what they were doing, it was a latte with whiskey added, so on the whole not impressed

The restored Mill makes a lovely setting. The food and service was nearly OK, but too many details were missed. We weren't greeted on arrival, the salad with the burger was very poor, the relish was obviously straight out of a jar, the chips were cold - and so the list goes on. Too many mistakes and omissions to make the visit enjoyable, we won't be going back - there are so many superior restaurants in Pembrokeshire.

Disappointing breakfast served in an amazing building. It is a stunning place to breakfast and there is little doubt that nothing has been skimped on in terms of the building and the setting but we went there for breakfast and it did not live up to expectations, . Three of us asked for ‘granary’ toast and what we received was a piece of ‘mass produced’ wholemeal toast akin to ‘Hovis’.likewise the white toast was from a cheap ready cut loaf. Runny baked beans and a strange flavour to the tiny button mushrooms. Great coffee. We will return for dinner- I hope that this future experience will be much better.

Ingredients are locally sourced from the area surrounding the establishment and then masterfully assembled. High-end, Welsh food at its finest. This alone makes this a special place. Yet, the fabulous service and the casual, historic atmosphere make it all the more. The mill is located in a conservation area along the river front. The setting is quite tranquil. I look forward to returning.

We spoke with the lovely member of the team that looked after us and shared comments on the tasty food we enjoyed. We did express however that the coffee was really bad sadly and did not come close to the really nice food. The lady really listened and was genuinely interested in why we felt that way. We shared our thoughts that the espresso used tasted really bad. The lady was grateful for the feedback as she expressed that we were not the first guests that had shared this feedback regarding coffee. The atmosphere and venue itself was really great and certainly had a ‘wow’ factor! Whilst it was disappointing that the bad drinks were not removed from the bill, perhaps this is company policy? Thank you to the team who worked hard to provide an nice experience for our family breakfast.

Fourth visit in 4 weeks and what a let down. Very long service and waited 40 minutes for dessert to be told it wasn't their fault. We had to chase up our first round of drinks as we had the starter delivered first. As I write this review we are still waiting for dessert. Staff standing around whispering and looking at our table leaving us feeling quite uncomfortable.

Excellent transformation. Had most enjoyable breakfast, with local Pembs Porsche posse, very good and highly recommended.
