I have eaten at Black Pool Mill previously and today brought four family members for the Festive Afternoon Tea🎄 The Greeting was Welcoming, all Members of staff that we saw were smiling and very friendly, very refreshing to see. Our Afternoon Tea was absolutely Fantastic, every aspect from fresh bread, the sandwich fillings, home made cakes (especially the mince pies and macaroons😍) with the fantastic display of festive foods on a slate cake stand ( with freshly picked holly) topped it off.. 🎄 Thank you All for a Magical and Delicious Afternoon Tea (& Prosecco🎄🥂)

The vegetarian Sunday lunch option, Paul's roast, is a small disc of potato. No protein and indistinguishable from the other vegetables in the plate. Expensive at £22 when others were having steak.

Overcharged for children's meals should have cost £25.50 actually paid £35.00 after waiting 50 mins for our drinks, I asked for refund food orders had not even been passed to the kitchen , realised later they had only refunded the correct price for the children's meals leaving me out of pocket to the tune of £9.50 trading standards to be informed shortly, based on my own experience I would not recommend this establishment, it looks lovely but completely fails to deliver

Beautiful old flour mill building. Booked a ground floor table in the dog friendly area for our two dogs (which were made to feel very welcome). We both had the Samphire & crab starter (delicious) and the Sea bass main course which was plentiful and amazing. We didn’t think potatoes came with the main so ordered a portion of chips to share. The main had creamy mash so we didn’t eat any of the chips (and explained why). The waitress insisted on taking the cost of the chips of our bill which I thought was really nice. We were on holiday here but wouldn’t hesitate to return.

A stunning building in a beautiful setting in the countryside. The food was exquisite and the service was outstanding. We were staying at the bluestone resort and I'd realised I'd left my wedding ring at the resort. One of the staff went out of their way to liaise with the resort and arranged for my wedding ring to be retrieved and returned to me, while I enjoyed our meal. It took the stress out of the situation for me. We had a large group and were seated in our own private room. We had no delays or issues with the food, which is quite often the case with large groups. Highly recommend this venue.

I recently visited Black Pool Mill in Narberth, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! Nestled in the stunning Pembrokeshire countryside, this charming historic site offers a unique blend of history, beauty, and great food. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the mill's picturesque setting. The beautiful stone building, surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of the nearby stream, made for a perfect tranquil getaway. The atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming, making it an ideal spot to unwind. The staff at Black Pool Mill were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable, providing interesting insights into the mill's history and answering all our questions with enthusiasm. The food was another highlight. We enjoyed a delicious meal at their on-site restaurant, which featured locally sourced ingredients and a menu that catered to various tastes. The dishes were beautifully presented and full of flavor. I highly recommend trying their homemade cakes – they were the perfect treat to complement the relaxing ambiance. Black Pool Mill is also a great spot for families. The kids enjoyed exploring the grounds and learning about the history of the mill. The on-site shop offered a variety of local products and souvenirs, making it easy to take a piece of this charming place home with us. Overall, our visit to Black Pool Mill was a memorable one. Whether you're a history buff, a nature lover, or simply looking for a peaceful place to enjoy good food and company, Black Pool Mill is a must-visit destination in Narberth. We will definitely be back!

We had afternoon cream tea at The Black Pool Mill Restaurant, which has been beautifully renovated. The afternoon tea was superb, very tasty and filling. A great selection of well made sandwiches followed by four different individual cakes and scones. Coffee was a really rich blend which was plentiful. Sadly, they were very short staffed. We waited 45 mins after sitting down at our reserved time. Although tea and coffee was unlimited we could not find anyone to replenish our cups, rather frustrating. Food was excellent, staff were lovely but the service, on this occasion, was really poor. Need more staff Black Pool Mill!

Only stopped for drinks and sat outside in the stunning grounds. The interior, whilst it looked sympathetically restored , felt rather cold & bare so not sure what its like to eat here. Oddly, for such a huge place, the bar area is tiny & is tucked up to one side on this spectacular looking building, this really is a place geared more for dining in our view. Lovely to drink outside but would be nice to have the benches randomly scattered across the front area rather than all in a straight line which we thought looked odd.

We had an early dinner here last evening, our second visit after a very lovely first meal. We were quickly greeted and shown to our table. Waitress sat us down with news that there was ‘none left’ of the starter we were looking forward to, samphire and crab salad. How can this be at 6.30pm? Waiter came quickly to take our drinks order, we wanted a bottle of Rosé. We asked which was the driest, to be told “all our Rosé’s are sweet”. I challenged the waiter on this, as we felt it couldn’t be the case, however, he returned from checking to confirm they WERE all sweet. We consequently order a glass of white and a beer. We ordered our meals, and the starters were promptly delivered. Egg ‘n’ soldiers was very nice, Cauliflower Pakora very disappointing. Main courses again were prompt, my wife had sea bass dish, very tasty but paltry sized fillet for £30. I had lamb and leek dhansak, which again was very tasty, but couldn’t find any leeks, and the ratio of sauce to rice was very poor. Overall, this restaurant is a very pleasant eatery, with attentive (but not knowledgeable) staff. This meal though, has left us not wanting to return. Checked wines online once home and found 3 were dry and one medium, most annoying.

This was my first time at Black Pool Mill for food and something I had been looking forward to, as my partner and I often go walking around the area, and were able to watch the renovation of this building over the past few years. Thankfully, the interior is just as beautiful as the exterior, and both the food and service are equally as good! There were two of us and we both had the lamb roast dinner with a pudding, plus some wine and drinks. The lamb was perfectly cooked - juicy and tender, with lots of flavour to boot. There was a good selection of vegetables served with it, including a large yorkshire pudding, a huge roast parsnip, plus roast potatoes and carrots, along with lashing of gravy. We also had a side of green vegetables to add to this, which gave us more than enough food on our huge plates. We both followed this up with a sticky toffee pudding, which was moist and sticky, and came a pot of ice-cream (we asked for a bowl of dairy ice-cream instead of the vegan ice-cream that it was served with and they were happy to oblige). Along with the great food, the staff were also very friendly and helpful. We had a dog with us and they brought us a bowl of water for him, and also smothered him in lots of attention (which he loved!). They were very attentive and checked on us throughout, so we never needed to wait around or fight for their attention, despite there being a good amount of people in the restaurant. Other than that, there is also a lot of parking for guests directly outside the building, plus an overflow car park. There are also tables outside for dry weather and a small coffee shop selling tea, coffee, cakes and alcoholic drinks (we're hoping to go back and enjoy this when it's a bit more sunny). Overall, this is a great addition to Pembrokeshire and somewhere I'll definitely be visiting again.

Barman didn’t know how to make lime and lemonade. Serving staff were just short of rude and had no people skills at all, obviously only there for the £. This renovated former flour mill dating back to 1813 is now the home of a characterful restaurant combining great atmosphere with first-class food and service. The building is steeped in history, retaining its original wooden floorboards, support beams and much of the upgraded milling and grinding machinery installed at the beginning of the 20th century. Food is served from 10am until 9pm Monday to Saturday and from 12 noon until 6pm on Sundays and guests have a wide choice of tables laid out across two floors. There are also private dining rooms and a space for corporate events and entertaining. The menu offers a range of tasty and interesting dishes and includes some items that will provide a new experience for many diners. The Black Pool Mill is a superb restaurant in the charming venue of a former Mill, which has several floors for different groups of guests. The service was courteous, friendly and luxurious, for instance we were all offered a glass of champagne as soon as we stepped through the door. Whilst eating it was as though we had an entire team waiting on us and on standby just in case we needed anything at all. The food itself was delicious and very filling, and the drinks and cocktails were excellent and exotic - I myself had a virgin espresso martini. Just to be really harsh there was a slight error where I was given the wrong drink and left waiting for a little while, but other than that it made a perfect Christmas Day lunch and couldn't have been better, hence why I confidently award the Black Pool Mill 5 stars.

We had an evening meal here as a large group of friends post Christmas. The location is beautiful and the building which as been restored is impressive. The booking process was very easy and there was plenty of space. Our table was booked for 8pm which although a little late worked for us with childcare etc. The food was tasty (perhaps could have done with a little more seasoning), if a little expensive. The food didn't quite match the location and price. I thought the starters were too large and the sauce I had with main didn't have as much flavour as I would have hoped for. I think the service could have been improved - the order taking was chaotic and instead of going around the table and asking everyone individually they wanted us to raise our hands / shout out if we wanted the same thing. I don't think this was the most efficient way of taking orders. We also had to order starters, mains and desserts at the same time. I understand why they asked us to do this as we were a fairly large table and the kitchen closes at 11. I decided not to order dessert although would have preferred to have decided after the main course was served. I guess this is a tip for large groups to book an earlier table. I would go back again but there are probably better options available in this price bracket in the wider area.

Then today 3 tables had customers on them at 1.30pm and we were refused a table as we hadn't made a reservation and they had a function upstairs and 3 tables downstairs with people on the, the lady said they couldn't take any more people in the restaurant due to the function although standing outside the restaurant walking back to the car you could book a table online for 15 minutes time.... really really disappointed.. I definitely won't try a third time Also it was absolutely freezing inside the restaurant, radiators were off...people in the restaurant still had coats on ... Absolutely beautiful place but unfortunately I'll never know what the food is like 👍🏻 Good luck with the future

Beautiful restoration of old mill. Ambitious restaurant offer but unmatched by poor menu choices & expensive pricing. Friendly, willing waiting staff need more training to deliver high end service. Ambience would be improved by lighting dimmed & redirected away from people's faces.

I took my children on a Saturday evening for dinner, the driveway leading to the mill was grand with the mill standing elegantly in view, we were shown to our table, which was surrounded by history of the mill, magnificent! Service was impeccable, we were looked after from start to finish with a smile and professional service, not too intrusive. Food was a delight, the menu was easy to the eye, good choices throughout. The children's menu was great, my children were spoilt for choice. I opted for the vegetarian option of charred hispi cabbage, beetroot and crispy parsnip, amazing! What a refreshing change to the normal vegetarian options! This mill is a gem, and so reasonably priced for the quality of food! I highly recommend 👌

Such a stunning renovation and location. Seriously let down by the quality of the food ! It has such potential to be a high end A la Carte restaurant, but they need to recognise that guests will only return if the food meets the same quality of the refurbishment.

We went for afternoon tea after a lovely walk around the area. We waited about 20 minutes for something to happen then the plate of sandwiches and cakes arrived, which looked lovely and were very tasty. However the fly in the ointment no tea, plates...

Great ambiance in a recently refurbished old mill. The grinding mechanisms are still in situ and occupy pride of place within the building with tables arranged over two floors around it. Service was friendly. The food was nice but not exceptional and I expected better for the price. Glad I went and 3.5 stars would more accurately represent my feelings abut Blackpool Mill.

Unfortunate lunch. Despite a lovely renovation, portions were minuscule. The food took nearly 45 minutes to turn up. Would not recommend. Disappointing!

Beautiful rural location. Historic building well restored. Plenty of young willing staff and plenty of parking. Wines by the glass were good but make sure the bottle was opened recently. Menu limited and not too exciting. Dishes were competent but not memorable. No need to make a detour

Lovely surroundings great building. Menu a bit limited and my Welsh rarebit was a pretty cold. Asked for some mayo for my salad but it didn't arrive until I had finished. The place was almost empty so I don't know what it would be like if it was busy!

Where do I start A beautiful building and surroundings, all went down hill then. A friend and I went here for a special meal. We both ordered risotto with basil and chicken. It was disgusting, it looked like lumpy wallpaper paste. We sent it back only to be told the chef said it was bad. I then ordered chicken salad and that was far from the standered for a place like this. We also had to remind the waitress that we ordered drinks and had not received them. . .

Booked a Sunday lunch out for family...although we frequently visit The Bar we had never tried their Sunday Dinners. As soon as we walked in we had a lovely welcome from Liam and his team. Our orders were taken straight away and within 5 minutes our drinks and food were on the table. Very generous portions, I've never been out to Sunday dinner anywhere that had the choice of seasonal vegetables we had. Everything was cooked to perfection. Very much tasted like home cooking. Fresh and delicious. We had no room or need for a pudding! With that view, a lovely relaxed friendly atmosphere and decent prices you can't go wrong. Highly recommend. Thank you Liam, we will be returning !
