We had the most wonderful stay at Crug Glas for our honeymoon. Staying in the Coach House, with our dog, the room with two bathrooms - including a jet tub - was so comfortable and felt lovely and private. The breakfasts are fantastic. And we dined at the restaurant in the evening one of the nights and had a delicious meal too. The staff are super friendly and helpful, we were made to feel very special. It’s the perfect spot to nip down to the many wonderful beaches and coastal paths. Highly recommend. Thank you!

We had our wedding ceremony, reception and evening here back in May. We both can't recommend this place enough, it was everything we hoped for and more. The staff were all amazing and went above and beyond to make our day so special. In the planning process we were kept well informed and all of our needs/questions were addressed. On the day we were well looked after and all of our guests had such a great time. The food was phenomenal and only added to our happy faces. If we could we'd do it all again and have every faith that we'd have a perfect time at Crug Glas. We look forward to returning for special occasions! Diolch yn fawr iawn, Ian & Tansy

We are so glad that we chose Crug Glas to be our wedding venue. From start to finish the staff (especially Sandra) could not have been more friendly and accommodating. No question was too small, we were able to visit and take measurements for the decorations and they were extremely helpful with vendor suggestions. On the day everything was perfect. The warmth and hospitality from every member of staff we met from the owner to the chef was amazing. We had multiple guests commenting on how fantastic the food was and the vast quantity of it. We also really appreciated Sandra bringing us food all day as being the bride and groom you just forget to eat! The grounds are wonderful and we were lucky enough to have our wedding outside under the trees and my bridesmaid pictures in amongst the wild flowers. We had about 120 guests in total and there was plenty of space for everyone sat down as well as decorations and in the evening (once 3 tables had been expertly and effortlessly removed) a great space for a Scottish ceilidh and 3 piece band. If you are considering Crug Glas for a wedding venue/ weekend getaway or a special occasion dinner you will not be disappointed. Photos by Angharad Thomas photography

When you have a venue as beautiful as this one, you could easily get away with poor service, lazy staff, and unaccommodating people in charge…however, these guys are the total opposite! We cannot find enough words to describe how grateful we are for the wonderful people at Grug Glas. Getting married can be extremely stressful but they made it a total walk in the park for us. Excellent food from the £35 3 course menu. We ate: Wild mushrooms in truffle oil with pine nuts - magnificent but should have some bread to mop the oil. Smoked duck breast with plum - great Selwin with lemon and dill cream sauce - beautiful Lamb chump with Berry mint sauce - generous portion and melt in the mouth Lemon posset with pink peppercorn shortbread and rice pudding with Berry compote - both delicious. The tables were well spaced giving a good feeling of covid safety and service was fast but unhurried. Thoroughly deserves its 5 star rating

We did 4 nights here and absolutely loved our time. The house is lovely and the room was well appointed, and felt very luxurious. Breakfasts were perfect, with quality ingredients and presentation. We also ate supper at the house twice and were easily both the best meals of our holiday. The service was spot on, the staff were happy, helpful, and considerate and made us feel at home. The house was walking distance (40 mins) from Aberieddy, and the coastal path, so we had 2 full days not requiring our car. Wonderful service, setting and food in the cow shed. Went for a meal, not a big event just one table, 20ish people, the to was changed perfectly to fit this, the reception area barely fitted us all though. The food was good and so was the service. My only very minor complaint is that the rice pudding was to come with blueberry compot, but instead came with raspberries whole. I personally didn't mind but a relative was allergic to raspberries and would of ordered something else of they had known. Everything else was to order You get what you pay for, everything was £20-30+ on the mains, £6-10 on the starters and similar with the puddings. Overall very nice but equally matched in price.

We stayed at Crug-Glas for our wedding in The Cow Shed. The wedding was completely perfect and Sandra was so, so helpful at suggesting additional details and giving us contacts for photographers, florists etc. If you are getting married you HAVE to check out this venue - it is flexible, fun, quirky, friendly and the food and standard of service are both second to none. We'll upload some pics as soon as we have them. We were also lucky enough to stay in the house. The room (number 5) was exquisite - we didn't want to leave it! Janet, Perkin, Sandra and the team were the most wonderful hosts: nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious and the grounds are lovely. Outstanding service, food and accommodation. My wife and I were lucky enough to stay here for two nights (first time away together in 5 years) and Cruglas was just perfect. The room we stayed in was beautiful, bath in the bedroom, huge bed, lovely big shower room and lounge area. They even have Portmeirion tea cups in the room to have your tea/coffee in before heading down for breakfast. Breakfast is just stunning, again Portmeirion tea cups and plates etc. Everything was perfect down to the last detail. Fresh strawberries, mango blue berries with yogurt to start followed by a full cooked breakfast, absolutely spot on for me. St David’s Cathedral is just 10 minutes away and is lovely to visit, so are the local pubs :-) Dinner at Cruglas was absolutely fantastic as well, food cooked to perfection and the service was just amazing. This would have been 5 stars had they pitched their prices at a slightly lower market. An attractive setting and very friendly service, but the slightly pretentious menu is not backed up by the kitchen skills one would expect at this mid-upper price bracket. Lamb was rather overcooked not served pink as advised, and was accompanied by an incompatible combination of colcannon, dauphinoise potatoes and a strange tomato and vegetable timbale, with a reduction that lacked intensity of flavour. Risotto was commendably perfect in texture, but was swimming in butter and strangely this was accompanied by roast potatoes! All in all a pleasant evening with excellent service, but overpriced by about £5 per main for the quality offered.

My mum and I visited Crug-Glas for afternoon tea with two friends. We had heard great things about the food and atmosphere and wondered if it would live up to its publicity. The answer is a very definite yes! Rather than feeling like guests in a hotel we felt like guests in a family home, the proprietor and staff actually seemed pleased to see us. Nothing would have been too much trouble. Our table was laid in a beautiful sitting room - white china and crisp white linen on a low table and four luxurious arm chairs. We were asked to choose our tea. We had a pot of Assam and a pot of English Breakfast. We decided to forgo the Prosecco although another time I might be tempted. This is not a snack - none of us had eaten lunch and afterwards none of us wanted dinner. We had three beautifully presented sandwiches, sausage rolls and cheese tart, scones with pots of jam and cream and five cakes. From reading the other reviews it is clear that the menu varies from day to day so the selection will be different but each cake was delicious in its own right. It took us two hours to eat our tea - we were sharing the room with another family and they took the same sort of time. It was a completely different experience from a tea room or cafe. We were made to feel so at home and so relaxed.I can not recommend this place highly enough. Everything about it was first class and I know we will return.

From first contacting Janet from Crug Glas via email I was made to feel very important. After arranging to spend last Sunday afternoon with friends, who were staying with us, for afternoon tea, we were certainly not disappointed. We drove up to that amazing imposing house in beautiful surroundings and walked inside and were welcomed by a very polite gentleman who showed us into the sitting room. It was like stepping back in time with two very comfortable sofas facing each other with a finely laid table with white porcelain tea cups and saucers and plates in between them.We were offered all kinds of teas, herbal and posh brands too and the nicest coffee I have tasted anywhere! Then came the feast! Stacked on tiered plates were a combination of cakes, mini Victoria Sandwich cakes, Cup cakes with pink butter icing, Chocolate sponge cakes covered in chocolate, chocolate mouse served in mini China cups, homemade sausage rolls, 3 cheese filo pastry tartlets, and the lightest ever scones with cream, and raspberry compote. The sandwiches were a combination of roast beef and horseradish, smoked salmon and cream cheese and cheese and tomato, all beautifully laid out.The staff couldn't have been more accommodating making sure we had plenty of tea and coffee even though it was a busy Sunday lunch time for them too. The atmosphere was so relaxing and we were made to feel that we could have stayed there all day and they would not have minded. Our friends who were staying with us for the weekend were absolutely delighted with this little gem of a place we had found. We shall certainly be back to sample more of this gorgeous feast and have thoroughly recommended it to all our friends and family. Thank you once again Crud Glas for your generous and kind hospitality. .......WE WILL BE BACK!!!! x

Our orders were taken straight away and within 5 minutes our drinks and food were on the table. Very generous portions, I've never been out to Sunday dinner anywhere that had the choice of seasonal vegetables we had. Everything was cooked to perfection. Very much tasted like home cooking. Fresh and delicious. We had no room or need for a pudding! With that view, a lovely relaxed friendly atmosphere and decent prices you can't go wrong. Highly recommend.
