Fantastic food, great atmosphere. Very friendly staff and excellent service. Probably one of the best burgers I've had in the UK, my son had the same burger and agreed it was one of the best.

Visited with Mum in law as she loves fish. As always, we were not disappointed - the food is original, amazing and cooked on site. My allergies are very well taken care of and the team of staff are so friendly and helpful and make your evening out a very personal occasion. Lots of laughs and fun. Everyone else in the very full restaurant seemed to be feeling the same way and enjoying the atmosphere. We will definitely be back soon.

We were here to celebrate my father in laws " big " birthday, the meal was excellent, clean plates all round. The " prawn cocktail " wow delicious as were the scallops . Cannot wait to go back

Wonderfully friendly family restaurant. So impressed by the fresh fish and steak lunch. If you are in the area definitely make this a place to visit.

We dropped in on a cold and windy autumn day and were transported into a fabulously cosy atmosphere. Becks's cooking was out of this world - our choices: scallops, haddock, halibut and Chloé and Josh were excellent and very pleasant hosts. The idea of a dessert was more than friendly, but we would have had to be rolled out.

Die Mussels als Appetizer mit Pernod oder Lemon-Gin waren eine gute Idee und haben fein geschmeckt. Der Haddock im Teigmantel war hervorragend. Das andere Gericht, die Chicken mit Reis hat sehr pikante, feine Sauce. Der Service professionell und schnell. Wir können dieses Restaurant sehr empfehlen.

The Captain’s Table offers a dining experience that feels like a warm embrace from the moment you walk in. Our family, including our 5-year-old, was made to feel right at home thanks to the genuine friendliness and kindness of the entire team. The menu offers a great selection, and everything we tried was simply delicious. The soup of the day, scallops, and langoustine cocktail were all standout dishes, and our little one thoroughly enjoyed the sausages from the children’s menu. A huge thank you to the staff for their wonderful hospitality. We’ll definitely be back when we’re in the area!

We arrived at The Captain's Table with high expectations and we weren't disappointed. The food was well cooked and the service was friendly and efficient. One place not to be missed if you are in the area. The only criticism would be change your lollipop supplier (lollies given with the bill) - it is almost impossible to get the wrapper off the lolly!

This was some of the best food we have had on our travels around the Scotland. Sam was wonderful.......funny, informative, and fun. We felt like we were very welcomed.

First time in Fraserburgh for us and we cannot recommend this lovely restaurant highly enough. We found The Captain's Table through it's great reviews online. The food was absolutely amazing. We ordered the battered fish and onion rings and the macaroni cheese and Garlic bread for our toddler who inhaled it! A special shout out to Sam, the most nicest and friendliest waitress. Not only did we have a lovely lunch but Sam made the whole experience just lovely and she was super good with our toddler. Will definitely recommend and return when we're back in the area. First visit and can’t recommend this restaurant enough. The staff and service were 5 ⭐️as was the quality of the food. Visited on Fathers Day and was warmly welcomed by staff who took time to chat. We will definately be back. Dad was especially thrilled with his Knickerbocker Glory ☺️

Date of visit: 9th June 2024 Never been to Fraserburgh before and decided to visit after seeing the restaurant on social media in 2023. It looked nice on entering, really clean, tidy, bright and airy. It was nice to see they support local fisheries and businesses. The menu looked really good. The lady who served us was very knowledgeable about the food and what could be adapted to my gluten/ dairy free allergies. They serve alcohol free cider which was great for me ( I was the designated driver). She was very friendly and chatty. I ordered the Langoustine cocktail ( starter) which was absolutely lovely 10/10. For my Main course I chose the Rock Turbot off the specials board with home made chips and salad. My Rock Turbot was cooked just perfect. My partner and son both chose the Cajun chicken strips (starter), my partner then ordered the 6oz burger with all the toppings and the sides were coleslaw and homemade chips. My son had a plain cheeseburger with cheesy chips and onion rings. The chef really took time with presentation which was nice to see. The desserts looked nice but we didn’t have enough room. An absolutely lovely family run restaurant. The family were so nice to chat with and we did for quite a while. We’d highly recommend visiting here. The service was fabulous. We Will definitely be back. The toilets were really clean. You can definitely see the high standards the owners have for their fabulous business.

We took my daughter and son-in-law to The Captain's Table as a treat - a first visit for all 4 of us. We each had a main course and dessert and 8 clean plates showed the food was delicious. The fish and langoustines were the stars of the show but the puds were equally good. The restaurant and toilets were squeaky clean with loads of sanitiser and good spacing between tables. We had a great welcome and happy banter throughout our visit and will definitely be back. Well done the Masson family.

A fortuitous cancellation allowed us to book a table for two at short notice. What a great move. Food was fantastic, and fully justified stuffing in three courses each! Sam was our host and she’s so affable and relaxing and just puts a smile on your face. Had a lovely evening. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

Had great lunch yesterday - the langoustine salad was delicious as was the herb crusted halibut which my cousin had. All followed by lovely trifle. Really nice friendly hosts, very Covid compliant and a great wee place.

Wow so glad we came here for our lunch. The langustinen were amazingly tasty - fresh,huge and so very tasty. We also had the Cullen skink - again beautiful and clearly home made and fresh. The fish and chips - wonderful - and the service and ambience so friendly thank you to Sam for entertaining us, and recommending the cheese cake pudding - another lovely homemade dish.

We popped in after a visit to the Museum of Lighthouses. This family run restaurant is lovely. A small but well presented menu. We all had seafood; langoustine cocktail, scallops and mussels. They were all really fresh and excellent. Again, visiting during Covid-19 so both the restaurant and the toilets were super clean, and geared towards social distancing. Definitely recommend this cosy eaterie ... and the staff banter is supreme!

We just had a fantastic takeaway from the captains's table, which we eat overlooking the surf beach in Fraserburgh.The langoustine cocktail consisted of 14 shelled langoustines in a marie rose sauce and lettuce/ cucumber. The scallops- 4 large with roe.. Rolled lemon sole in a tasty cheese sauce with mustard mash and peas. Luckily we had our own knife and forks. Highly recommend.

The service for takeaway is as exceptional as it is for sitting in, the food has been excellent every time we have had a delivery.I personally can’t wait for the opportunity to get back inside the Captains Table and sincerely hope that they will be well supported as a local business.

Have dined at TCT many times now and never left unsatisfied or disappointed, the staff are friendly and very flexible with the dishes, nothing is too much bother but from a dining perspective the produce is always of a high quality and very well prepared.

We had an excellent meal. My husband had scallops with pork belly for starter and then seafood pasta.I had coronation chicken salad for starter and halibut fillet with pernod cream, it was delicious. The service was excellent and staff really friendly. Cannot wait to go back.

Another lovely lunch at The Captain’s Table. The battered haddock, chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce were amazing and the staff very welcoming and friendly. If in Fraserburgh, you must pay a visit!

We became aware of this little gem from its Tripadvisor ratings and made our first visit in October. We are an extended family group who visit at this time every year. The menu choices were excellent and cooking and presentation on the evening was just as good. We were all looked after royally and service on the night perfect.

Another great visit here. For starter i had camembert, which was exactly how id want it with a gooey centre, for main i had breaded haddock, excellent, first time id tried tartare sauce too (i thought i didnt like tartare sauce but this one looked so good i thought id try it), and it was so nice. The pudding i had was also great. My dad and husband also both loved their meals they had. Our 8 year old daughter had 'the best time ever' and wants back for her birthday and next time we go out for a meal. She had macaroni with garlic bread which she loved and then ice cream which she also enjoyed. We couldnt fault a thing. Thanks again for everything, especially keeping Alexa entertained when she had ants in her pants. xx

What a friendly little restaurant, which serves really fresh fish of all kinds! Staff were really helpful and chatty and the food was beautifully cooked.

We had lunch in the Captain’s Table and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. We had crab balls which weren’t on the menu that day, but they made it for us anyway. They were yummy. The seafood starter was excellent. We weren’t very hungry to decided to skip mains and had a pudding. Delicious too.

Food was second to none. Fresh,tasty and delicious. We are all picky in our own way. Prawn cocktail - my brother nearly licked the bowl. Mums Cullen skink very hot just the way she likes it. My smoked haddock and poached egg perfect. Mains wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Looked through the window and saw a well presented restaurant, went in and met by friendly staff. The menu had a good selection of meals to choose from. I have never tasted such a fine fish selection a good portion size and full of flavour.

Having stayed only 20 miles away from this restaurant I can’t believe this is my first visit, It certainly won’t be my last!

We stayed overnight in St. Combs on our tour and decided to come to Fraserburgh for dinner. Fortunately we stumbled upon this lovely little restaurant with excellent management. Friendly and nice staff and always ready to welcome customers.

Visited with my husband and dog for lunch. I had lentil soup followed by breaded haddock and my husband the Cullen skink and battered haddock. All the food was tasty and portions were large.

been a few times now with friends we meet midweek for lunch and have yet to find fault with either food or staff - nothing is too much trouble - they cater for our dietary needs and let us sit and yap when we are done - no rush to get us out the door - if you havent been then go!

We went as most reviews looked good. How very disappointing.....we had the Halibut with veg...the fish was edible but could have done with a sauce as a wee bit dry....potatoes were unedable and broccoli too as way overcooked. Told the young waiter who just laughed!!!! Disgusted with that not an apology or a discount will never go back

Friendly staff. Awesome battered fish and chips and lobster pot. The sticky toffee pudding is so good it should not be legal. Huge loss for you if you pass this place by.

We just had a delicious meal at the captains table. Could not fault it. Lobster pots x 2, herring in oatmeal, fish cakes, lemon meringue cheesecake and a knicker bocker glory. Lovely friendly relaxed atmosphere with very helpful staff. I love that it is a family run business with a great ethos to support other local businesses by using locally sourced ingredients and services.

We were recommended The Captains Table by friends, so decided to visit, what a great place, excellent food - very, very good menu, and this is coming from someone who grew up surrounded by amazing sea food; plus the cheesecake was delicious! Great service; the staff were very friendly and accommodating to us and our shouty baby; half way through our meal they produced several toy sea creatures to help entertain him!

Food simple yet tasty, we had great starters, delicious home made mains (monkfish Thai green curry and smoked haddock fish cakes) great range of gins, desserts fantastic - butterscotch cheesecake homemade and the fudge sundae using local ice cream top quality. Attentive responive staff and some lovely touches. Different hand washes and moisturisers in the bathroom, baby wipes in the baby changing area and free sanitary protection. Modern and inclusive. Really worth a visit and anywhere popular with locals is a sign of doing something right. If you are in the area visit. Visit now!

An exciting menu with very fresh and delicious food. Excellent seafood, Scottish classics, appetizers and ice creams. I wish I was still in Scotland so I could return again and again. The family who runs the restaurant are wonderful. Dad catches the fish. Mum and daughters welcome and serve clients and the son is the inventive chef.

We booked a Birthday Meal for our mum (9 of us) as she really enjoys fresh seafood. Can not emphasise enough just how fresh and delicious all that was served was!. I believe the owners husband has his very own fishing boat and supplies all that is on the main coarse so cannot get fresher than this and having never been frozen a huge difference in taste and quality! From fresh Haddock to Prawns and all other fish and seafood i would go as far as to say the very best i have tried. I personally had the surf and turf the Scallops were to die for, superb taste and just literally melted in your mouth! The service was superb, sweets gorgeous and again they do superb Cullen Skink so for all fish and seafood lovers out there give the Captaind Table a try! You certainly will NOT be dissapointed!

Best food in Scotland. I had the Halibut, and that ws just as a halibut shall be (not all shefs know how to cook halibut). . Great service. If you are in Fraserburg, this is the place to go.

We have had the nicest food around north Aberdeenshire in a homely setting, have been on celebration dinners which have delighted family and friends, casual suppers and romantic meals for two, captains table is excellent imo on all fronts. We had supper here yesterday. Husband had fish and chips and I had fish cakes. The blue cheese sauce was to die for. Absolutely first class food and service. Can’t recommend this place enough. Will be back for Sunday lunch in two weeks time.

Dinner with friends. Had heard good things about this restaurant but was my first visit. It certainly won’t be my last. The food is a delight with many locally sourced ingredients and beautifully presented. The staff are superb and so friendly. Five stars all the way.

House hunting in Fraserburgh and it was getting near lunchtime. Came across this restaurant by chance and had a quick look at the reviews before going in. Staff were very pleasant and courteous. We both had the fish n chips and were glad we did. The fish really was the freshest I’ve tasted in a long time and I only buy my fish direct from the fish houses in Aberdeen. The chips were consistent in quality and taste. We shouldn’t have, but did, we ordered a sweet. I ordered the meringue with strawberries and cream. This too was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely lunch. Came here for Sunday lunch and got amazing food served by a lovely, welcoming waitress.

The food was absolutely amazing! And what’s even better was the service. Extremely friendly waitress and owner with the Scottish banter that I’ve been craving. Definitely will come back and try the dinner menu.

The food. Let me tell you! The haddock fish and chips is something to behold. Massive fish and tasted beautiful. I alsao had the oreo cheese cake which was delicious. The staff were amazing, so friendly and welcoming. Childrens menu was very varied and offered genourus portions of veggies.

Visited for lunch on a Saturday it was quiet but very welcoming. Chose a table and was attended to instantly. The restaurant is spotless as are the toilets. Staff members were so attentive and extremely friendly. Lunch menu was condensed but still great choices to make. Our food arrived and was really excellent, homecooked but still had a degree of finesse too. Can't wait to go back and try the evening menu. Great to find such a great place.

In all the years we have been visiting Fraserburgh we could never understand why there wasn’t a fish restaurant. Well now there is and it is simply amazing. All the staff that we met, including the chef who came out of the kitchen to deliver food, went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with everything. A recurrent theme was ‘our mum would kill us if we...’ Well mum, you needn’t worry, killing is not necessary. Your kids are very talented and you should be proud of them. The service, the food...oh the food! Turbot, haddock, scallops, lobster pots it was all delicious and beautifully cooked and presented. We returned for a lunch time meal before heading back to London because we were so impressed with everything. We loved the way the loos were kitted out with anything you might need (these things matter.) Next time we are in Fraserburgh, we’ll definitely be back. thank you

We enjoy fish and seafood, and I had imagined that dinner here would top off a special day out to Fraserburgh, given that its a fishing port. I did not ask, but I suspect that the fish was largely frozen, perhaps in dishes microwaved to order.

Amazing food, very friendly and helpful service (daughters doing really well whilst owners / parents living it up in Thailand). Can’t recommend high enough. If we’re ever back in Fraserburgh there is no doubt where we’ll be eating. Thanks for a great meal. The Jessies

An update to my last review, have had a few family meals here now, and everything has been excellent. My favourite restaurant in the town. But my circumstances have changed, I am now gluten intolerant, and was wanting to book a meal with the family, but knew I needed to see if suitable for me. But not a problem in the slightest. The staff, which I see as friends now, were very helpful, listened to what happened to me, and Josh took time to explain, what could be altered for me no problem at all, which to be completely honest was a lot of the menu, including a couple of puddings, so one very happy customer, that can continue to go to my favourite place in town xxx ❤️❤️

The captains table serves the most exclusive gastronomic delights with the freshest of ingredients. A fantastic experience was had by all. Happy first birthday and here’s to much more.

Took my parents here for my mum's birthday and I have to say, everything was fantastic. The fish was all extremely fresh and very well cooked. The halibut was delicious. The batter on the haddock was light and crispy. Veg was fresh and tasty. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Prices were reasonable. I'll definitely be back.

Been a few times now, always good. Consistent standards of service, food and cleanliness. Menu always interesting and varied and the freshness and taste is epic. Highly recommend. I just saw another review saying its dog friendly too, I didn't know that.
