Pretty sure I keep this restaurant in business. If any employee reads this you know exactly who I am. I order the club sandwich with the truffle fries. DAMN NEAR EVERY DAY. Always the Uber eats. Exactly at 8:20 on the dot. I know. I know. I've been in the restaurant TWICE, but my fame levels made me shy, I didn't want to expose my identity. I love this sandwich so much. My comfort food. Each time I've been in, your staff has been fantastic, thank you for the free crispy creme from time to time, it's much appreciated. Thank you for being my favourite restaurant <3

One star is too high for the experience we received today! Both my husband and I simply ordered 2 x soups and 2 x cold sandwiches to takeaway. They took our payment, and 5 mins later decided to tell us it would be a 45 mins wait. We didn't have this time, hence the reason we wanted takeaway, so I asked to cancel the order and get a refund. We paid by debit card, which meant the funds had instantly been taken, but unfortunately, the staff didn't know how to process a refund. I asked if there was no way they could do our order sooner but was told no because they were prioritising the uber eat orders and sit in's!! After a further 10 mins, they said they had voided the payment, but at no point had I represented my card so I was very sceptical as the funds had still been taken. A manager eventually came over and said they would prioritising the order which seemed like the sensible option, so we agreed. It was at this point I was asked to pay again, which I refused to do as the money had already been taken. They said the refund should appear in my bank 5 days later but if not I should go back. The manager (lady with short blonde hair) had awful customer service and had so much attitude. We eventually left we no food but also out of pocket. I have since had to spend 30 mins on the phone with my telephone banking to ensure the payment was voided. I will NOT be going again and urge everyone else to do the same.

During a brief visit to Oldham, called here for breakfast. Without a doubt, the best bacon, ever. Enjoyed it so much I went back the next day for more.

Visited this cafe today and was instantly racially profiled. If you are a non-white person you're probably not welcome here unless you're there as a delivery agent

Ordered this morning to have my breakfast delivered, the full Monty and a Spam butty. Poached egg was lovely and soft even after delivery, the cafe paid attention to the notes and amended to breakfast as ordered. Food came in good time and was still hot when it arrived. Fantastic food will be ordering again!

I should have realised a cafe next to Tesco would purchase it’s produce from the frozen section! Cheap frozen sausages with no flavour and coffee that resembles maxwell house at best despite being apparently fresh bean! First and last visit! If you want a decent breakfast then avoid it and I would even suggest McDonald’s over the road! Atleast they have some quality control! Avoid avoid avoid!

Situated in the Greenacres district of Oldham The Café is very close to shops, a major supermarket, bus links and within walking distance of several residential areas. It serves a wide range of food including sandwiches, salads, toasties, traditional British favourites, deserts and items on the specials board. Drink wise you can have the usual tea/coffee, and soft drinks that you would expect to find in a café, plus miniature bottles of wine and a brand of popular cider. During busier times you may have to wait for a table and when you are seated it can be a wait for your order to arrive. Because The Café also does takeaway food at the same time you get the impression that they are taking on too much and customer service and experience is suffering as a consequence. The huge TV on the wall is unnecessary and a little distracting. You don’t particularly want to watch re-runs of Coronation Street whilst eating out. Lose the telly and put on some decent background music. However for the more discerning there are a selection of newspapers for you to read.

Always use to eat here when we worked up the street, so on a recent visit from America we went for a full English breakfast. It was fantastic. We really miss the English sausages and bacon.

Well what can I say, the food is touch and go sometimes, you can tell the difference at weekend - properly because it's busy, I avoid weekends but love the food during the week. I find it expensive for takeaway food.

If you're after a place that’s got character, cold pints, cracking food, and a landlord who’s clearly binned the corporate playbook – this is your spot. Came in expecting the usual pub experience… left wondering why every other place isn’t doing it like this. Prices? Fair (and actually frozen – take that, greedy suppliers). Atmosphere? Like Cheers, but Northern. Staff? Friendly, fast, and genuinely sound. The food? Let’s just say the chef knows what they’re doing – proper portions, piping hot, and seasoned better than most reality TV judges. Bonus points for the pub being clean, family-friendly, and somehow still managing to feel like your local even on your first visit. The Famous King George isn’t just a pub – it’s a stand against boring chain bars and overpriced nonsense. 10/10 would drink here again. And again. And again.
