Honestly, I cannot believe what I witnessed last night! Was in for dinner, just me and my wife, sat down, ordered drinks, ordered our food and waited, all was perfect, then, all of a sudden, this rotund object, appropriately, dressed in pink, she’s obviously the pig, as she certainly wasn’t a butterfly! walked past our table and burped as loud as was humanly possible! Absolutely vile. Turned to my missus and said, I’m off! I left and the wife told the girl serving (who was fantastically professional) what had happened and she was so apologetic, never, ever again. Foul creature.

We decided on the butterfly and the pig due to its high recommendation and word of mouth. We pre booked our table in the bar in advance and unfortunately ended up at a table in front of the toilets which had a smell of ammonia that was unavoidable. Since my husband and I are big foodies we decided to get the rib eye Sunday roast and try one of each of the sides available - since the plan was to review this for my foodie review channel. Our waitress seemed shocked at us wanting to try each of the sides due to the volume of food so we decided to not bother with any of them and just go for the mains. When the food arrived it looked gorgeous but unfortunately I can only give it a 3/5. The steak was cooked beautifully however everything was very like warm. - I’m normally not one to judge on this since I manage a bar in hospitality and I know you can’t cook a roast fully fresh however the temperature of everything on the plate was disappointing and the veg and roast potatoes were rock solid. We did mostly eat everything on our plate, my husband didn’t eat his green veg as it was too solid and I did leave one of my potatoes as my steak knife had a bit trouble with it. Very much not an inedible dinner but it was a disappointment. Would I come back? Probably not, would it be first on my list to recommend? Again probably not. Our table as at 4pm. Even at just before peak time I wouldn’t say was overly busy. I can’t comment for anything else on the menu. Maybe I would return to try one of their menu classics.

Had not booked a table . There were loads of free tables inside . We got put at a table in the hallway . Everyone passing to go to the toilet !! Ordered the afternoon tea . The ham in the ham sandwich was disgusting. It had turned black and smelled badly . Waitress said she would bring it to the attention of the chef . We got our bill , almost £40 . No deduction for the food . When asked the waitress said the chef said ‘it was just the way it was cooked’ .Absolutely not !! It smelled and was dark grey/black . Will NOT be having a return visit there EVER. If food is not up to standard ,you admit your fault and rectify !!

Really fun atmosphere with live music. Unfortunately the food is not great. Overcooked burger with solid fried egg on top, and a slab of haggis thicker than the beef. Starters were not great either. Olives served with standard sliced pan white great like you’d get from the local shops. Prawns on toast were disappointing- two thick bits of bread with six measley prawns . Service was quite slow- took a good 15 minutes after arrival before we were seen to.

Excellent meal with my parents and hubby to celebrate their 66th anniversary. We chose the basement owing to dad’s minor mobility issues. We dined in the Butterfly and the Pig on Saturday 12th October and picked this restaurant due to the high review it had on here but unfortunately we were very disappointed. The staff were great. There was a large build up of white dust on the dark brown wood on the walls beside our table, so much that it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I ordered the Chicken burger. It was extremely dry and over cooked. The chips were even more so. I ordered Sticky Toffee pudding for dessert and again it was extremely dry, like an old dried out cake, as opposed to a moist flavoursome pudding.

Excellent venue for work night out with room that sat 25 of us confortably. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Food was decent for a catered event although soup portions a bit miserly. The tearoom is a lovely spot with lots of charm but the food and service were pretty awful. £14 veggie breakfast and every item was cold, undercooked, and really unpleasant to eat - they forgot to toast the toast then took about 15 mins to do so when asked. The bread was inedible, as was the gluten free cake I ordered. The menu descriptions didnt macth what they brought, and we had to keep asking for butter and other things they'd forgotten then turned out they'd run out of key ingredients so the plates were half empty. Gutted as this place used to be delicious. Big roast lunches downstairs looked and smelled good but avoid the tearoom

Service was VERY slow (excruciatingly) and our waitress didn't seem overly excited to be working. Our waitress NEVER checked in with us, we had to call her or someone else over any time we wanted anything, and because we knew it would be an ice-age before getting whatever we wanted, we just settled for things (for example: rather than asking to see the menu again so we could see the tea options again, we just played it safe and went for our old faithful - earl grey... However, we would have liked to try something different, but that would have had us waiting FOREVER.)

Was super excited to go to this restaurant after a friend recommending it and seeing all the amazing pics on social media of plated food. As a family we all get the chance to pick a venue to eat at as a family as a treat ever few mths. This was my choice! Unfortunately a family of 4 left very disappointed! Most likely not to return. We were greeted by a a lovely friendly server who invited us to our seat. We were brought completely to water and menus to the table. A short time later a different server approached our table and asked what we were having (not very friendly and quiet standoffish) With it being our first time in the restaurant I asked if I could have the Sunday roast and asked her advice on which meat she would suggest. She stared at me for a brief second and said it’s on the menu I repeated myself and she said it was up to me in a dismissive tone! My kids were going to ask her advice on burgers but decided after the response from her not to. We ordered a Sunday roast with Sirloin and 3 burgers, 2 portions of onion rings, 3 soda waters and lime and one with blackcurrant. The server returned a short time later with our drinks and cutlery no pleasantries came from the server. Whilst waiting for our food (around 30 mins) we all played with the games that were in the area (great idea) Our food arrived the burgers looked great ! The Sunday roast most definitely did not look anything like their social media images. Looked like a big very pink slab of beef with over cooked roast potatoes 3 stems of broccoli tenders, some green beans with 2 of the smaller carrots ever and a small grey looking Yorkshire pudding!!! Very disappointed. The kids and my husbands burger was over cooked! The meat was dry, tough to eat, lettuce was big thick clumps, not much sauce, untoasted burger bun which fell apart. The best part of their plate was the chips. The onion rings were mostly batter a couple didn’t even taste like they had onions in them. Result was the burgers were half eaten, roast - half of the meat was left due to the very pink (would say rawness) only one potatoe was eaten as rest were solid as if the had been cook d 3/4 times over. Unfortunately not a nice family experience. We don’t find the atmosphere great and left with an unpleasant, disappointing experience.

Riverhill has incredible coffee and food. The staff are friendly, and the fact that it is always busy tells its own story. This is, for me, the best coffee in the centre of Glasgow and close to Central Station. The only problem is, they don't open until 8am and I now have to be in Central just before then, but you can't have everything.

What a bummer. Having done tons of research trying to find some vegan options for my trip, we’d been looking forward to breakfast at Glasvegan for months. I double checked the hours and both Facebook and Google stated they opened at 9am, Google even said the hours were confirmed by phone a few weeks prior. When we showed up, the place was closed & dark - no sign on the door, no post on their social media (and no website). Another traveller showed up around the same time and was also disappointed to see the dark restaurant. After looking into some news articles, it sounds like their inconsistent opening times was a blessing in disguise. Head chef up and quit, employee complains against owners, treatment and working conditions, and steadily declining food reviews. Good riddance I guess. They haven’t even responded to my inquires on their social media sites.
