Honestly, I cannot believe what I witnessed last night! Was in for dinner, just me and my wife, sat down, ordered drinks, ordered our food and waited, all was perfect, then, all of a sudden, this rotund object, appropriately, dressed in pink, she’s obviously the pig, as she certainly wasn’t a butterfly! walked past our table and burped as loud as was humanly possible! Absolutely vile. Turned to my missus and said, I’m off! I left and the wife told the girl serving (who was fantastically professional) what had happened and she was so apologetic, never, ever again. Foul creature.

We decided on the butterfly and the pig due to its high recommendation and word of mouth. We pre booked our table in the bar in advance and unfortunately ended up at a table in front of the toilets which had a smell of ammonia that was unavoidable. Since my husband and I are big foodies we decided to get the rib eye Sunday roast and try one of each of the sides available - since the plan was to review this for my foodie review channel. Our waitress seemed shocked at us wanting to try each of the sides due to the volume of food so we decided to not bother with any of them and just go for the mains. When the food arrived it looked gorgeous but unfortunately I can only give it a 3/5. The steak was cooked beautifully however everything was very like warm. - I’m normally not one to judge on this since I manage a bar in hospitality and I know you can’t cook a roast fully fresh however the temperature of everything on the plate was disappointing and the veg and roast potatoes were rock solid. We did mostly eat everything on our plate, my husband didn’t eat his green veg as it was too solid and I did leave one of my potatoes as my steak knife had a bit trouble with it. Very much not an inedible dinner but it was a disappointment. Would I come back? Probably not, would it be first on my list to recommend? Again probably not. Our table as at 4pm. Even at just before peak time I wouldn’t say was overly busy. I can’t comment for anything else on the menu. Maybe I would return to try one of their menu classics.

Excellent meal with my parents and hubby to celebrate their 66th anniversary. We chose the basement owing to dad’s minor mobility issues. We didn’t have starters we had fish n chips, 2 roast chicken dinners and a gammon steak dinner (Sunday roast). We had some nice drinks and the service was very good not intrusive. Aiming to return again soon. If you want food that aligns with home cooking, then try here.

The tearoom is a lovely spot with lots of charm but the food and service were pretty awful. £14 veggie breakfast and every item was cold, undercooked, and really unpleasant to eat - they forgot to toast the toast then took about 15 mins to do so when asked. The bread was inedible, as was the gluten free cake I ordered. The menu descriptions didnt macth what they brought, and we had to keep asking for butter and other things they'd forgotten then turned out they'd run out of key ingredients so the plates were half empty. Gutted as this place used to be delicious. Big roast lunches downstairs looked and smelled good but avoid the tearoom

Unique little restaurant in appearance and menu. Lots of veggie options and choice of drinks. They had a live band starting too just as we were leaving. I think the only down side was the price, £50+ for 2 mains and two drinks (one was a cocktail mind you) just seems a bit much for a Wednesday evening.

Service was VERY slow (excruciatingly) and our waitress didn't seem overly excited to be working. Our waitress NEVER checked in with us, we had to call her or someone else over any time we wanted anything, and because we knew it would be an ice-age before getting whatever we wanted, we just settled for things (for example: rather than asking to see the menu again so we could see the tea options again, we just played it safe and went for our old faithful - earl grey... However, we would have liked to try something different, but that would have had us waiting FOREVER.)

Was super excited to go to this restaurant after a friend recommending it and seeing all the amazing pics on social media of plated food. As a family we all get the chance to pick a venue to eat at as a family as a treat ever few mths. This was my choice! Unfortunately a family of 4 left very disappointed! Most likely not to return. We were greeted by a a lovely friendly server who invited us to our seat. We were brought completely to water and menus to the table. A short time later a different server approached our table and asked what we were having (not very friendly and quiet standoffish) With it being our first time in the restaurant I asked if I could have the Sunday roast and asked her advice on which meat she would suggest. She stared at me for a brief second and said it’s on the menu I repeated myself and she said it was up to me in a dismissive tone! My kids were going to ask her advice on burgers but decided after the response from her not to. We ordered a Sunday roast with Sirloin and 3 burgers, 2 portions of onion rings, 3 soda waters and lime and one with blackcurrant. The server returned a short time later with our drinks and cutlery no pleasantries came from the server. Whilst waiting for our food (around 30 mins) we all played with the games that were in the area (great idea) Our food arrived the burgers looked great ! The Sunday roast most definitely did not look anything like their social media images. Looked like a big very pink slab of beef with over cooked roast potatoes 3 stems of broccoli tenders, some green beans with 2 of the smaller carrots ever and a small grey looking Yorkshire pudding!!! Very disappointed. The kids and my husbands burger was over cooked! The meat was dry, tough to eat, lettuce was big thick clumps, not much sauce, untoasted burger bun which fell apart. The best part of their plate was the chips. The onion rings were mostly batter a couple didn’t even taste like they had onions in them. Result was the burgers were half eaten, roast - half of the meat was left due to the very pink (would say rawness) only one potatoe was eaten as rest were solid as if the had been cook d 3/4 times over. Unfortunately not a nice family experience. We don’t find the atmosphere great and left with an unpleasant, disappointing experience.

Scrambling to find somewhere to eat after 9pm due to late arriving train from London, we found the Butterfly and Pig. Let us know when we arrived that kitchen as about to close so took food order first and ensured kitchen would stay open for us. Food was really good. Serving staff level of attention was spot on. Decor was a bit shabby chic but charming. A pick-up band was playing in the pub side of the pub-restaurant- guitar flutes and a violin really added to atmosphere

The best afternoon tea I have ever had! I was on my honeymoon, visiting from NYC, and we had the best time here. We’re coming back to Glasgow for a highland hike tour, and we are spending a full day in Glasgow solely to come back here for afternoon tea. If you’re willing to fly 6 hours to go here, I’d say it’s pretty damn good! It’s very affordable. We have pretty garbage afternoon tea places in the city, and it’s made worse by how expensive they are. I also loved the atmosphere, and the girl serving us. I don’t remember her name, sorry! She had a lot of nice things to say about the owners, and how she felt like they treated everyone like family. That really matters to me personally, and I think it reflects that in their food.

This place is outstanding. I just looked for somewhere that offered full breakfast but stepping inside was something else. A bit like stepping back in time with a modern twist. The House and the decor are great. So cool. So vintage. Real china, lots of wood, impressive lighting. And then the food was great. A big pot of breakfast tea too (not one of these miserly ones you tend to get). And they had a raspberry and pistachio gluten free cake, so I had to squeeze a slice of that in as well. When your menu reads like a novel, you know you’re in for a bangin good time 😉 I loved everything I ordered, from the fried mushrooms to Sunday’s roast (of the chicken variety). Whatever herb/seasoning the chicken was roasted with was *chefs kiss*. My partner got the gambas to start and he didn’t quite like that one however. Flavours were a little confusing, but perhaps it’s a local rendition of the Spanish dish? He loved the steak pie however, so that made up for it. For dessert, we asked the wait staff for recommendations - wholly expecting her to point to the sticky toffee pudding as most places had so far - and was surprised when she told us that the pavlova was better than the pudding. One enormous portion later, no regrets! One of the better pavlovas I’ve had. Regarding atmosphere, the place was cosy and quaint, but because of their pub/bar area next door (separated by a curtain) you get quite a bit of noise bleed through. Not unpleasant, but got a little loud at times. Service was excellent however, and I would love to come back for more Sundays roast when I’m in town!

Decided on The Butterfly and the Pig for Sunday lunch because it looked interesting. Service was pleasant with Lauren but even BETTER when she handed us off to another server who had an amazing sense of humor, sadly didn't get her name. Mushroom fritters shouldn't be missed! Perfectly crisp and outstanding flavor! Love the tiny bit of spice that develops as you enjoy the bite. Sunday roast with sirloin wasn't hot, just barely warm even cold in places of dish, but still yummy with horseradish. The accompanying carrots were OUTSTANDING! Steak pie was beautiful and perfectly tender, order with mash, you won't be disappointed! If you're not from the UK, make note, if you want to dine in the restaurant, you must make a reservation, however, you may eat in the bar area, which is just as nice.

Food was okay, as the steak which we ordered medium rare came out as well done, while there was a wee bit too much salt on the risotto. The former was rectified with a replacement steak, and not being charged for it (totally surprised). Happy with the recovery by the team, so +1 ⭐ to the team. Honestly felt that the waitress was condescending when we asked to take the food orders after the drinks came. She said "There are other tables that we are waiting to take orders first, but we can take yours". Honestly an unnecessary comment if you aren't interested in taking our order. Totally could sense her unhappiness in being asked to take an order after that. Surprisingly quiet on a Fri night!

I was keen for her to try an authentic Italian restaurant and I always try and dine her when I’m in Glasgow. I have even travelled for 5 hours before , just to be able to dine here. I also have introduced some friends from Europe to this special restaurant . The staff are special , as is the food. It never disappoints. My grand daughter loved the kids menu , with the quiz on pasta shapes. She chose linguine bolognese and she said it was almost as good as mine hah. They kindly packaged up what she couldn’t eat . The portions are generous. It’s like a warm hug on a cold day.
