The Butchers Arms in South Northamptonshire

We went to the pub at around 9:10, it was quite but there were other people drinking we got are drinks and went to sit outside, by half 9 doors were locked, no last order called and no warning that the pub would be locked, I love this place but wasn't impressed by today.

No sport, jukebox or atmosphere. How things have changed. Only interested in food and not the locals. Now closes at 19.00 on a Sunday.

We went here for a lovely evening meal and dessert from a varied menu which suited all our tastes which were delicious. The staff are brilliant and ensured we were well looked after. We will definitely be returning and recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a pub that has great ambience, fabulous food and fantastic staff.

Lovely beer garden, halloumi was lovely as was the haddock and chips. Good Guinness is always a plus and the cider was nice spot on for a sunny afternoon. Will pop in again

Great pub. Every village wants a local like the Butcher’s but very few exist these days. Jack C, Chelsea and (by no means least) Ruby, pull the best pint of Guinness this side of Tipperary.

Proper pub. Great beer. Really busy which was great. Lovely staff. Always a good day out.

Went to the Butcher’s Arms king Sutton last night we our friends didn’t know what to expect but come away all with a big smile on our face after a very enjoyable evening had our dinner off a simple menu which was well cooked food at a very inexpensive price lovely drinks served with a smile and was so pleased to go to a pub which was a pub darts team locals having a drink and enjoying their self well done to you Steve Betts Banbury

Lovely pub, in a lovely village. Real ale served, can get busy around lunch Time with food orders. Dog friendly and has a large outside garden.

The menu is pretty basic pub food...the quality however was very good and the prices very reasonable

Lovely, welcoming village pub. A great selection of food - not too much and not too little, with plenty of specials for people to enjoy. I had a Ploughman's lunch and my parents both had Scampi and Chips. No complaints from us!

Firstly.. this pub is not in Banbury.. little village, 4-5 outside.. Kings Sutton. Had 2 x steaks, to take away tonight… Absoluetly fantastic . Dont bother getting indian/chinese of unknown origin…. Eat in or take away, Karen cooks to perfection… 😁😁😁😁😁

Went past this town for work with my colleague and stopped by for a quick nibble, the pub is very nice, has a very comfortable environment, service is very good, friendly staff, very good price on food and drinks, VERY GOOD PRICE, will definatly try and come back again soon.

Great local pub serving real ales from Hook Norton. Meals and snacks are reasonably priced. There is a car park and three Aunt Sally pitches outside.

On arrival we ordered drinks and were asked if there was anything else. I replied we would like to eat. We were handed a menu and took a table. After choosing our meals we returned to the bar to order our food only to be informed that food was no longer available! Apparently because the kitchen closed at 7.45pm. At no point between ordering our initial drinks and trying to order some food ( approximately 12 minutes) were we informed that the kitchen was going to close. I feel that at some stage we might have been told we should order. We were surprised and shocked at this treatment. However The White Horse, nearby, was very accommodating.

This pub is run by the very friendly Wayne and Karen who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We visit here often for lunch with family including our Grandson. The garden is child friendly and safe. The food is traditional pub grub, always fresh and nicely presented and above all reasonably priced.

We have just called into this wonderful pub on our journey home from a holiday, we were made so welcome by the landlady that came and sat with us outside but without being intrusive at all, told us all about the village and all the community things they do. Our lunch was really nice, everything well presented and delicious . Highly recommend this country pub for food and the welcome.

Karen, Wayne, Jack and the team always give everyone who visits a very warm welcome. Hooky beers and real ale on tap. traditional pub grub served throughout the day. Ham, egg and chips is my fave. Dog friendly and lots of fun events throughout the week mean there is always a great atmosphere. We are privileged to have this pub in our village.

The pub food is always great here and so reasonably priced. Wayne and Karen are so friendly, we are lucky to have this in our village.

Excellent range of drinks and great service. Will be returning. Friendly staff and great to be able to watch the sports on plenty of TV screens.

Went with a friend today for a lunch, absolutely lovely staff, very friendly and the fish n chips! Perfect! All very well priced. We shall be back!

Would definitely recommend and indeed we want an excuse to return. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming, the locals equally so, and just a lovely, warm atmosphere. We didn't eat but the food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing.

This is where the rainbow ends We took the train from Kings Sutton to Banbury and walked back. We had seen the reviews and chose this pub for lunch. The whole place exudes friendliness It is dog friendly (very friendly-dogs are welcome not tolerated) The beer was brilliant and very well kept The food menu was straight no nonsense pub food at prices that probably are cheaper than anywhere in Europe. Despite this everything was fresh plentiful and delicious. No sense of the catering pack here. Well worth deviation to pay a visit. This pub was the icing on the cake of a super day

Spent a couple of hours on a warm sunny afternoon in the spacious beer garden, every pint perfect and every staff member friendly and helpful. We will definitely eat on our next visit.

In a break in the clouds walked up the crooked mile to be greeted into a pub, genuine in all respects. What could be better. The offer of a lift back to the Oxford Canal was very welcome as the mist settled in and underlined how lovely the owners are. Thank you.

Decided at the last minute to eat outside at the Butchers seeing as the weather was glorious. Lots of tables available. 3 rounds of Hooky Cider , steak in peppercorn sauce with all the trimmings and ham, egg and chips. £36 in total. Great value for money and all the food was delicious. Everybody socially distanced and the outside bar was an added bonus.

Since Wayne and Karen took over this has been a great little pub and an asset to the village. We ate here regularly during eat-out-to-help-out, although they're such good value you can go anyway. Most affordable pub food in the county, no complaints.

The Butcher's Arms, Kings Sutton - Nothing much in the way of prentions, a good clean, country pub with benches outside, or the garden if you want a little more seclusion and...they have their own off street parking!

Visited the pub on a canal journey through the area. The staff were very warm and welcoming, and the pub had a great atmosphere for a Monday night. We sampled the range of Hook Norton ales and had the rump steaks from the menu. They were outstanding for the price, cooked really well and tasted amazing. At the end of the evening the Landlord was really helpful, going above and beyond in making sure we got back to our boat safely.

The garden is safe and well laid out and great for families. Fenced off car park and shade and outside bar if needed. Ice cream and soft drinks.

This is a really good pub, well run by the landlady and landlord who are site all the time, excellently kept Hook Norton beers at good value prices. Conversation and laughter plentiful. Spacious garden and good off road parking. If you haven't been there you should!!

Arrived today at lunchtime in walking gear with a very soggy dog, very warm welcome, gave us dog biscuits and water for doggy. Simple menu and chose all day breakfast, very tasty. Really friendly staff and excellent beer and great value

Thank you Wayne and Karen for fitting us in on valentine's day. The meal was gorgeous and so tasty. Loved it. Would recommend it every time. Think we may make our way down your menu and try everything..

After being invited to return to the restaurant by Jennifer after a previous bad experience, our meal was the complete opposite to what we had the last time. The restaurant was very busy, the food was served hot and fresh. I ordered the Cream of onion soup which was delicious and you could really taste the cider, my husband had the braised pig cheek which he said was cooked to perfection. Our children both had the chicken goujons which they said were very tasty, a roast dinner which was very filling and beer battered cod which was cooked so well it fell apart. Out of three visits to this restaurants this meal was outstanding in comparison. Whether there is a difference between lunch and dinner service I am unsure however after today’s lunch if I were to visit again I will ensure it would be a lunchtime. Thank you to Jennifer for her time and honesty. Compliments to the chef and hope that the standard of today is maintained for all future diners.

I went for a Christmas meal and upon arrival ordered a pot of tea and coffee and as a nice little suprise, a nice biscuit came with it. The prices are very good and the food and service was delightful.

This pub serves a decent pub meal at a good price and a very good real Ale from the local brewery. The staff are all friendly and will help where, and when, necessary to make sure your visit is enjoyable.

What a lovely warm pub. The lady and staff are so welcoming and friendly. We had to wait for rac breakdown for 8 hours and the landlady was so helpful keeping is warm and fed alday and said to stay in there as long as we wanted. It's a fabulous place will defo be back. Thank you so much for looking after us all.

A great little pub which does a good selection of bar-food classics. I took my little daughter here for lunch on a weekday; she had chicken nuggets, chips and beans while I had scampy and chips. The staff were very friendly, the food arrived hot and well-cooked, and we were offered a good selection of sauces. I was dissapointed to read an earlier negative review of the Butcher's Arms- particularly as the person didn't even stay to try the food! It's not high-end restaurant food but it doesn't pretend to be. What it offers is a simple selection of decently cooked meals in a family-friendly atmosphere and a very good price. It certainly ticks our boxes and we'll definitely be returning!
