The Burnbrae Bar and Restaurant in East Dunbartonshire

Ginelle was a fantastic waitress tonight. She was very attentive, checking if we needed anything and keeping our drinks topped up. Always chatty and makes you feel welcome. Definately a good place to be with staff like that.

The restaurant was full to capacity but that did not stop our waiter, Dominic, from providing an exceptionally attentive and professional service. Nothing was too much trouble and he easily rhymed off all of the beers, lagers and wines available. He kept a check to make sure that all of his customers had everything they wanted and maintained a happy friendly manner throughout. We need more 'Dominics' in the world.

On Wednesday night me and my friends went for some food and drinks and received very good service from dominika definitely will be back

What a rude front of house employee you have. Not only talking about my own experience, but how she interacted with 2 different sets of customers after me. Every response she gave out was negative, no smile, no warm welcome! She needs to work in the background and let the smiley server girl - black tied back hair, really charming be ur warm welcome. Lady in question is dressed in black with short brown Bob…retraining is needed here or find the cup half full mentality and bring it to work

A cosy, friendly and welcoming place to eat, drink and be merry. The food is always lovely, and if I am allowed a beer or two, the selection on tap is very good. We were served by Dominic tonight and he is always helpful and super friendly, thank you Dominic.

The food was Ok, drinks were good and the service by our Waiter, Struan, was excellent. Our Dog was made very welcome. We will be back.

We had our wedding meal/evening here and we could not recommend it more. We have been coming to the BurnBrae for years for different reasons so it was always going to be our venue but the staff,food and space we used were amazing. Craig, helped us from beginning to the end of the planning, was there all night for every need we had, and ensured that every member of our party had whatever they asked and needed. Nothing was too much for any of the staff, from the waiting team to the bartenders, the service was impeccable. Even the morning after, I was welcomed and helped with picking up various items. I truly would recommend this venue to everyone for a function or even a family meal. I will be back, the team have cemented this place in our hearts forever.

This is situated in Milngavie Rd in Bearsden, next to Premier Inn hotel.This is a pub restaurant.There is plenty of Carpark spaces on a hill at the back of the premises.The pub/restaurant has very dark wood throughout making it look cosy.It is quite a large place with lots of hidden areas to sit and even a balcony terrace to have drinks too.We had food so waited to be seated.The staff were fairly nice.The food was fairly good especially the fish and chips.Portion of chips was very small though.The vegan or vegetarian pie which the staff couldn’t decide on was ok.Overall was good.

Great food, good beer, good atmosphere. Ginelle was awesome! She was very friendly, helpful, and quick. The menu was a little “corporate “ and didn’t match the nice pub ambiance.

We regularly go to The. Burnbrae as the food and wine is usually good and reasonably priced ! Dominic our waiter was excellent tonight .friendly attentive and welcoming! Bravo Dominic!

The service from the lady behind the bar was absolutely atrocious (I think her names Lisa). We were here celebrating my friend’s birthday and she was unbelievably rude. We were waiting for the keg to be changed, and she came up to us and asked, in a cheeky tone, “why are you waiting here, this isn’t a social club” which I find rather peculiar as I go to pubs to socialise. She was complaining right in front of our faces of how she was wanting to close early (it was around 9:30pm) but we kept “Yap yap yapping”. I will say the rest of the staff haven’t been an issue and were quite warming but I find this behaviour incredibly unprofessional and this has put me off coming back to this establishment again.

Great atmosphere with friendly staff, out for a catch up with friends this place was recommended, 4 off us popped in it was reasonably busy (mostly for food) but service was quick and easy, one of the staff (think his name was Josh) was nice and gave some recommendations, we ended up staying for food after. The beer was nice and chilled and we never had to wait for refills.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Burnbrae yesterday. Food was delicious and excellent. Service was perfect and a special shout out to Derek who looked after us all very well and even spoiled our dog with two free sausages :-)

Warm welcome and happy, polite service by Ali and Dominic. Relaxing atmosphere. We had onion rings, battered haggis fritters and scampi ~ delicious! My daughter has autism and prefers a quiet corner. Staff are always happy to accomodate this. This is our happy place!

The roast was lovely and even had a vegan pie as part of the roast selection. Great there was a kids steak option too. Lovely atmosphere and Derek our server was very helpful and attentive. Live locally and it is always my go to place to catch up with friends.

I have previously written a 5 star review for the Burnbrae years ago and I would say I regularly go there for drinks and food. As it was a lovely sunny day on Easter Sunday we decided to stop off for some drinks as there are various places to sit out at Burnbrae. The bar staff were very friendly as usual (unfortunately no peroni or moretti on draft). However, a member of staff told us quite sharply that we couldn't sit outside at the back only the front! I informed her that there were people already sitting out there as it was sunny ... so reluctantly she said we could go out..but clearly not happy! It was just not very welcoming and quite honestly I will think again about where I drink on a nice sunny day....

Awful. Total comedy of errors! Visited for dinner with the wife around 19:30 today (Easter Sunday). Was busy, but certainly not full. Ordered a mixed grill for myself, and the wife had a steak sandwich. When our food arrived (approx 25mins), mine was missing 2 items and my steak (ordered med rare) was well done. Brought this to the attention of staff, who advised straight away that they knew they were "out" of one of the missing items. Note that this was not advised at any point when ordering. The wife also noticed at this point that one of the items on her meal was incorrect as well. When my replacement meal arrived, the wife had already finished hers. Incredibly, my replacement meal was still missing 2 items; with the onions rings now doing a disappearing act, and one of the original items STILL missing. I was then told that they were out of this item too... absolutely incredible! Communication between kitchen and front of house was clearly non-existent; and between front of house and the guest equally as bad. I ate, because I was famished... but the meal itself was very ordinary and lacked any meaningful flavour. My wife advised hers was pretty ordinary. When I asked our server, who seemed to be the one running front of house, what on earth was going on in the kitchen tonight; she replied that she'd "like to know herself", and that they'd had several complaints today. Quite telling really; not that I would've shared that information with a guest. All in all, it was a very poor show here tonight. I was not offered any sort of discount in reflection of the meal and service received, but did eventually get one (£6.44 woo hoo) but only when I asked asked for the bill and said I hoped it would reflect the experience received. Won't be in a rush to return.

Had a lovely late lunch at the Burnbrae this afternoon. Food was really nice and our server Jo was fabulous so friendly and welcoming as always.

We have been going to the Burnbrae for a number of years for lunch, but decided to do dinner for a change. We booked our meal for Friday 22/3/24. We were not disappointed, the meal, the service was superb. Our server was Jo (Joanne) she was very chatty and very pleasing, all the staff were. Totally recommend the Burnbrae any time. Great staff, food and atmosphere. I definitely would do dinner again there, and thank you to Jo for making our night perfect🥰🥰🥰🥰

Cozy Pub right next to the Hotel, we been there every day last week sometimes twice. Great staff, the food is tasty but unfortunately the servings are quite small in my opinion.

The ultimate burger was delicious also the presentation of it ,the steak was perfect and the fajitas were so tasty ,Joanne our hostess was courteous knowledgeable and friendly an asset to your place

Going back to 5* food was well presented and very tasty - if smaller portions than used to be. The main 5* is given to the waitress GINELLE she has been missed by all the regulars and it’s great she is back - her service with a smile is world class. Thank you for your smile and professional hospitality.

There seems to have been a wholesale change of management / staff here over the last few months and the vibe is completely different. Hard to put my finger on it but would describe it as whereas it felt like like a local it now feels more like a corporate / chain pub. The real ale selection seems to have reduced - there used to usually be 4 ales on with a couple waiting to come on whereas recently just 2 or 3 on with 2 or 1 waiting and two of the handpumps completely out of use. The previous time we were in there 3 or 4 weeks ago there seemed to be an issue and none of them were serveable so we left. On what I guess is a general Greene King level, the food has become a bit expensive for what it is. The place is also starting to look a bit tired and we noticed whilst sat in the alcove opposite the bar the other day that the carpet is quite threadbare in places.

My husband, daughter and I had dinner last night, just needed some comfort food in gentle surroundings with nice atmosphere after a busy day. We were in Jo's section and she most definitely added to all of the above. We've been in her section before and like every other time she looked after all of us really well. Jo is so lovely and makes a wee quick dinner even better. Thanks Jo! Good grub, reasonably priced and great service!

We had a lovely server and great food... However before we were served our food one of the staff, Lisa, stormed past our table and into the kitchen saying "do i have to do all the f-ing work around here". She then proceeded to glare at us each time she walked past. When she dropped off our food she didn't offer to get any sauces or ask if we needed anything and her facial expressions were rather unpleasant. When it came to paying the bill our lovely server was sorting it out when she came over and instead of helping him or making suggestions told him he was doing it all wrong and watched him over his shoulder and looked unhappy. The rating is nothing to do with the food or our lovely server, we were just unhappy with her actions throughout our meal.

It was OK but definitely more of a weatherspoons menu at more than double the price. Order was wrong and identical drinks charged at different prices. The cauliflower pakora was obviously pre cooked- maybe a few times then microwaved and my main had parts of it missing and not an offer of compensation. One of the girls who served us was lovely but obviously run off her feet and probably on minimum wages. She has no control over the cooking staff. I doubt there is an actual chef working as most of the food tasted pretty bland and microwaved. So if you want weatherspoons at double the price then visit the Burnbrae.

Burns night and NO Haggis. Had steaks and a mixed grill. Steaks were poor and tasteless. No pancakes. So the chief couldnt make pancakes. Gone down hill since Green took over.

Good food, reasonably priced, deals on certain foods/drinks. The staff are absolutely lovely! Jo was particularly cheery, chatty and helpful, we had a great evening. Highly recommend.

Not dog friendly anymore (it used to be!) apparently since Covid not sure what that’s got to do with dogs. The place was literally empty so seems strange to turn away business when they are so quiet. Especially when other Greene King places are dog friendly. You can sit outside with dogs but in sub zero temperatures no thanks. We went to Garvie & Co which was super dog friendly.

Very poor food. Staff were very rude and this was an extremely (at best) disappointing experience. 4 out of 6 meals were close to if not inedible. We will not be returning unless drastic action is taken to address how bad this experience was.

Very positive visit for dinner. Server Lauren was polite, efficient and attentive. We had two kids with us and they were well catered for too. Good value for money. Would recommend to others.
