Warm welcome. Strong selection of beers. Cracking atmosphere - we were lucky to be there on a Saturday night when there was a really good musical duo playing in the bar.

Nipped in here for a drink after the firework display. Barstaff miserable and the pints tasted terrible. The only thing that made me stay there were the other customers were so friendly and they had a Log Burning Stove.

If you want to go to a proper pub, the one like your dad took you to back in the day , go for a couple of pints here. Don't have to worry if you ain't got designer gear on just sit back , relax and let you shoulders drop for a while.

What a bloody amazing pub! The last and final remaining public house I've visited in Poynton and I'm absolutely ashamed of myself that it wasn't the first pub I'd ever visited! I've driven past well over a thousand times in the last ten years after the traffic chaos on the mad mile and I've never popped in. More fool me than you I promise! Now... I've never felt so guilty I've never popped in. If you want airs and graces, go elsewhere. This is a no-nonsense pub with a down to earth owner with plainspoken patrons. The locals here are as welcoming as the owners. Considering it was my debut visit and they hadn't a clue who I was they treated me like family but I was just some randomer who came in with a little Jack Russel! I walked in here with my dog and she was instantly welcomed. No other pub in the village except Cask has ever extended the same virtue, we've always been asked to leave or sit outside! I'm really sorry not to remember the landlady's name but she was so nice to our group. I did promise her a revisit so I hope to update the review in due course. Thanks for having us x

Brief visit whilst walking. Firstly Google opening times do not match pub website opening hours!! I went with pub website thankfully so check! One cask beer on only other pump clips turned around. (Very drinkable as a darker bitter) Multi roomed one dedicated to darts & golf club. Outside slightly sad with a couple of tables on one edge of the carpark. Front very attractive with plants.

A really great old style "local". Real ale and a friendly environment, with a good landlady Sally.

Small, cosy pub with a real fire and ale to match. This is a great place to pop in for a quick pint or to make a night of it. Big screen TV's showing the football are a big draw but sports fans don't dominate like they do in some bigger pubs. Well worth a visit.
