We have been coming here for years but on the last few visits the service was intermittent and the food not as good as usual. Tonight was the last straw. Arrived 6:25 and ordered poppadoms promptly. I accept the restaurant was busy but with only two staff serving, there was a lot going out of the kitchen in paper bags with those who had come for a sit down meal left to wait. The starters arrived moderately promptly but the onion bhaji I ordered were the worst I have ever tasted in 41 years off eating curry. Cold and uncooked. We waited for the main course but saw other tables who entered after us served ahead of us. We gave them until 7:45 and left. My wife paid them for what we had eaten but there was neither apology nor recognition of the appalling service. We will not be going there again.,

An empty pub has little atmosphere. The meal was disappointing. My wife's fish was tasteless and dry. The batter was good though. The garden peas were overcooked. Chips were delicious but far too many. Not a great celebration of our 54th wedding anniversary!

We stayed here for a day to celebrate my birthday. We did read reviews written here beforehand and were a bit anxious and wondered how our experience would turn out. As oppose to our concerns, it was one of the BEST spa & hotel experiences we ever had :) The hall itself is relatively small but had a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere, dinner was really amazing and breakfast was delicious. Spa is small but it wasn't busy when we were using so it was perfect for us. We will definitely come back again, thank you very much for your hospitality! :)
