We had our Christmas party night at the Brown Trout. Probably their first one and I have to say it was amazing. We were quite a large group for what I imagine is a pretty small pub kitchen. The food was excellent, the turkey was moist, the gravy lush and the veg cooked perfectly. The service was also really good. Afterwards we had a brilliant band they seamlessly sorted the seating including removing some tables and chairs and still managed to fit us all in. Well organised and well executed. Cannot fault the evening. Thank you to all the team What a great start to the festive season.

Myself and 29 other members of the WI ate from their Christmas menu. The food was delicious, piping hot and excellent value for money. Would highly recommend The Brown Trout for a Christmas meal

Brilliant Sunday lunch after a six mile walk, cauliflower cheese was sublime. Very dog and human friendly. Orchard Pig on tap. Tidy!

Best Sunday dinner I've had in a long time and definitely the best local! Loads of veggie options available, food was amazing and service was really good. Roasties and cauliflower cheese were outstanding. We'll be back!

Lovely roast, huge servings, friendly staff Decor a little bland and outside space a bit scruffy but food was great and with lashings of gravy! Great value!

Absolutely shocking sunday lunch. Ordered 2 takeaway dinners and desserts costing £35. Handed over 3 cold cardboard boxes containing the sorriest looking dinner I’ve ever seen. Freezing cold, barely fill a saucer let alone a plate. Some audacity charging the price they do for them. Phoned to question whether they’d left anything off, apparenlty that’s a normal dinner. Shocking

I ordered 2 takeaway chicken roasts for my son and his wife and to say I am disappointed is an understatement. In all honesty looks fit for the bin .....freezing cold with pitiful portions. He paid 34 pound for 2 dinners and 2 desserts !! On ringing to complain he was told that is a normal sized dinner. Sorry this is not acceptable !!!

First time trying after seeing good reviews on Facebook. A little out of the way but well worth the trip! A family run, local community pub that served a beautiful Sunday roast, extremely tasty and full of flavour. All the staff were so welcoming, accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning to experience their popular steak night and more of their Sunday roasts! 10/10, Diolch 🙂 *PS, don't be deceived by the picture, there are a selection of veggies hiding under the tender and tasty beef including carrots, swede, green beans and hispi cabbage 👌

Only had Sunday lunch here and only via delivery so can't comment on the venue itself or the other food. Sunday lunch is nice quality however portions are absolutely tiny. Can get much bigger size dinners for same price in local area.

This business is confused at what it wishes to be and is caught between being a drinkers pub and a restaurant. I visited on a Friday evening, called in advance and booked a table for 2 adults 2 children. There was no real formal dining area set aside. Find a table, so went into the small bar. People drinking in there with some fruity language, so moved to the lounge. Found a table, ordered the T bone and a sirloin and two burgers with sides. 10 mins after ordering, a member of staff informed us we would have to move immediately after eating as the band would be setting up. In addition to this I had to put up with some local who likes to below out C#N Tuesday at the top of his voice with regular frequency. The food was very nice, hot and well cooked. I paid circa £100 and whilst the food was nice, the ambience was appalling. I would never visit this restaurant again for a family meal. If I was put drinking with some mates and wanted a light meal then perhaps. Certainly not family friendly. All the above was explained to the owner(after he asked how the meal was when paying). He advised It can be a bit fruity on a Friday night (wish he told me, when I booked two child spaces with him) , but if I came back on a Sunday it's different!

Food not great and service terrible. The started portion of dried (which seemed reheated) chicken wings and two for £5 weren’t the best. My fillet steak was cooked rare as ordered, so no dispute there. However, it was served with a balsamic glaze!? Our two guests ordered the fish and chips, the batter wasn’t crispy and the fish itself quite questionable. The waitress seemed to be on a night out herself, one minute spotted with a glass of white wine and the next a pint of lager. It’s such a shame, as the owner has turned this pub into a lovely location. A lot of work needed on their menu and service.

Our first visit was faultless, great food and service, sadly disappointed on our recent visit. Quality of the service was generally good, but no one asked if everything with food was ok, which is par for the course. Had I been asked I would have provided feedback. I had the lasagne and garlic ciabatta. It was a large portion, too big for me in fact but it was also dry, not much meat or sauce, lots of lasagne sheets! To add to my disappointment the garlic bread was also very dry. My wife had the fried chicken burger which she enjoyed and the chips were fine with both meals. I would go back as I have had a good meal previously and the staff are pleasant and welcoming.

We came to the sandwich shop bought a few things absolutely fantastic food and service! We found it on a walk and it was fab! It started raining and we asked if we could sit in the little garden which was presented beautifully! Definitely recommend this place xx

Just had a pint of Leffe (£4.22), service fine, it was half full on a Wednesday afternoon. Toilets tidy and clean, as usual for Wetherspoons.
