3 of us had the breakfasts and one had a toasted cheese and red onion sarnie, teas coffee and toast. Everything was very nice, bacon could have been cooked longer and broken/chipped tea pot should be replaced but thats just our opinion. We will definately be back.....yum!

From the second I walked in, you're greeted by the lady owner. It's a table service and wasn't all that busy when I visited just after 12. Make sure to have money on you as it's cash only, but because of that, she keeps the price down and the food is cooked yo perfection. Would highly recommend this little cafe to any tourist that's just passing the area. Thank you 😊

Totally agree with Forfar review, this was the best cafe have eaten at for ages. Baked potatoes with tuna and salad, scampi chips and salad. Very reasonably priced. Really friendly welcome and service with a smile. We asked some questions about the painting on the wall of McPhersons Rant and the lady told us so much of the history of it and surrounding area as well as where to get the best ice cream - The Ice Cream shop in Cullen. We promptly went there and had 1 salted caramel, 1 blueberry, 1 banoffee & 1 Malteser cone delicious!! Great tip.

Best cafe we’ve eaten at for a long time! Cosy wee cafe, lovely staff who greeted us at the door, polite and very attentive, just what you want! The food was so tasty, proper old style flavours we love and wish we saw more often. Soup was hearty and flavoursome, and the chicken fricasse was spot on. Really good sized helpings that kept us full all day. Plenty options with a great specials menu too. They had such a great selection of cakes, scones and tray-bakes, we could hardly chose, we actually took scones away with us! Highly recommend if looking for somewhere to eat in the area. Thank you! Visited yesterday and and had great paninis, salad and a side of excellent chips. Service friendly and Corona safe. Just one niggle that stops me giving it 5 stars. They made every effort to make the place safe, wearing masks, no paper menus on the tables, trying to distance in what was a small cafe and with table service only. However, they let themselves down by only accepting cash. In the era of Coronavirus, they really need to take contactless payments only, there's no excuse really.

Once again, The Broken Fiddle exceeds itsself, After the fiasco with The Spotty Bag Shop. hubby decided to try a bacon roll, he was not disappointed, Ooooodles of bacon, and not a drop of fat to be found. He was asked how he would like his bacon to be cooked, and it came just as it was ordered, and it was the BEST bacon roll in Scotland. just goes to show, that The Broken Fiddle always put the customer first. WELL DONE KENNY & TRACY, .........

very nice all-round service and friendly atmosphere. Good food good value. A short walk up or down a hill depending on approach helps to build you up for a nice experience.

Yet again we had a meal to remember at this great little restaurant/cafe. The fish was so fresh it was swimming in the sea in the morning and on our plates in the afternoon, the batter was so light it almost floated off our plate. Kenny and Tracey give you such a warm welcome they almost feel like family. The food is out of this world, and the prices are very reasonable. Take my word for it, The Broken Fiddle is well worth a visit.

A great big Thank You to Kenny and Tracy for the meal and transport you provided for my husbands & mine 32nd wedding anniversary. We couldn't have asked for more, the meal was outstanding, (we both had steak), it melted in your mouth. The dessert was so yummy, all home made by Tracy. I cannot recommend this cafe/restaurant highly enough. The hospitality of Kenny & Tracy puts the big hotels/ restaurants to shame. So, if you are in Macduff or Banff and are looking for somewhere to eat at reasonable prices , look no further than The Broken Fiddle, Strait Path, Banff.

If you have any mobility problems this is not the place for you. It is half way down an extremely steep hill which vehicles are not allowed on. The decor is very tired & dated. The food was home-made & was tasty enough. Service was fast & friendly. The toilets were not the best. The sink in the ladies is just in at the door & if you are a larger person it is a struggle to get in & out.

This venue has sadly burnt down. However we stayed at the Braemar Lodge Cabins and they were absolutely 5 star

Lovely little cafe, run by volunteers. We went in for a light bite. They have a gluten free selection, which is ideal as Mrs B is coeliac. Tea came in a real tea pot 😊 Food was really tasty and reasonably priced, service very friendly. I thoroughly recommend dropping in.

So pleased this place was open during the quiet season. I've never passed without stopping off some some food. The staff are lovely and on my visit before this one, I was on the motorbike and I was experiencing the British summer.....sheltering from the torrential rain the time passed by quickly thanks to a friendly fella manning the gift shop and some nice food. This time I just made it in time for a full breakfast - very welcome after being blinded by low level morning sun all the way from Inverness then dodging the ice in minus 6 degrees C once I hit the ski roads. Bloody marvellous! proper sausage, the black pudding was really tasty and everything was hot. I managed to bag an extra fried egg after many apologies from the lady serving me that the chef had managed to burst my yolk twice so they put both on as an a sorry. I ordered a black coffee which was one of those espresso machine jobbies I really hate for their harshness but this was pretty god. I didn't realise they did cafetieres until the very well spoken gent on a nearby table asked for one! Next time then. Love this place, makes the dreadful quality of the roads seem worth it...in such a remote area it's a gem and the prices are good, too!

Fabulous lunch break! We stumbled upon Dunes and what a find! The staff are great, the view is lovely and the food is super fresh and generously portioned.
