The Briggate, Wetherspoon in Leeds

1st visit, as an ex garforth lad who remembers the old city liberal club it used to be, it's a revelation. Top notch beer as you'd expect from 'spoons and the usual food and keen prices. I'll be back when I'm next back home.

Great atmosphere good service great drinks reasonably priced and food was good I'd definitely recommend it.

This is a brilliant pub but prefer the glass blower at castleford better atmosphere

Breakfast was not hot cold fried eggs..but was in a rush..but prices are great.. I will try again...it wasn't busy, get what you pay for.

Regular visitor. The food is very inconsistent. Some days it's excellent, others it's cold and not very nice. Service is good though and you can always get a replacement.

Exactly what you would expect from a Wetherspoon's pub. Cheap and cheerful, good selection of food which is a decent standard, and good for the price range.

Cheap and cheerful. Can recommend the bbq chicken, skinny chicken burger and Katsu curry. Also the breakfast pancakes, if early enough.

Listen it's Spoons! No review needed you know what your going to get. But there are bad Spoons and good Spoons and this happily is one of the good ones. Very busy on Saturday afternoon with the pre loading Leeds bound weekend warriors.

My local Wetherspoons which I visit a few times a week.Friendly staff gr8 food and drink.Parking to the rear and a Quiz Night on Sunday!!! If your I the area well worth a visit.

Placed order at the bar, walk to make our hot drinks on looking around couldn't see cups, I asked the chap next to me where they where to be told you get them at the bar, walked over again said I hadn't been given any cups to be told it was because I had walked away I replied "that I walked away because you said next" so presumed I was finished with, on walking away i could hear the girl bitching behind my back, i then had to rejoined the drink que again, the food arrived and it was stone cold and if you've ever eaten a cold mushroom it was disgusting needless to say I left half of it, first time going and will defo be last.

Very clean and comfortable, sat out on a sunny day. Beers were on form. Chatty staff too

I visited the Briggate this morning for coffee with a family member, sadly I was shocked at the chairs we had to use .They were absolutely filthy and very unhygienic and had not been cleaned for a very long time long time .They were very badly stained and off putting. the said chairs were situated near the entrance to the premises.

Nice cuppa coffee ☕ staff realy pleasent. It looks tired needs freshening .for sure.

Been here a few times this year for food! Never had a problem! It’s decent priced. Always enjoy the food and never been waiting long. You Can order at the table or at the bar. Staff are Very polite and friendly. It’s quite spacious inside so plenty of room for people. Toilets usually clean. It’s definitely an Everybody welcome sort of vibe here! I Definitely Would recommend this place!

Don't bother ordering anything from the breakfast menu nothing is cooked on sight just microwaved to various states of lukewarm the coffee is just about passable but that's the only thing worth ordering If you raise your complaint with the manager you're met with a blank expression and no comment

A typical Spoons. Toilets a mile upstairs with a disabled toilet on the ground floor. Could do with a little spruce up inside. The outside area has had new tables and chairs added. Fantastic prices for food and drink, parking right next to the pub in the public car park around the back. Lots of seating areas, including booth seating, which is great for the kids.

On our way up to North Yorkshire, we stopped off at The Briggate for a bite to eat. It was clearly a popular destination on our visit as tables were at a premium. We found one at the rear of the pub and ordered our meals. The pub was a comfortable enough Wetherspoons, reasonably clean with servers who were happy to help. The food arrived after a short wait, interrupting the ongoing conversation with our teenage daughter about how, like, you know, the program is awesome. And I was like, it's not that good and she was, you know, it is and stuff. To ne honest, I don't recall much detail, I drifted off. The food was a welcome break and the curries were absolutely fine. Cooked nicely, tasty, no complaints at all. We will certainly return if we're ever in the area again. You know, like, it was wicked.

It was overall a good experience, had a good night. Was busy which made it loud but that was nothing on the venues fault. Staff was nice and food came out quick even for it being busy

I ordered the American burger and chips, not well presented on plate, burger was smaller than i expected. My parents ordered fish and chips which they enjoyed. Accessible toilets were dirty, staff members informed and cleaned following this. Good atmosphere although tables not wiped after people left

we are regulars, often coming to this establishment 3/4 times a week. the wetherspoons employees are really really lovely and so personable; they make us feel welcome whenever we come. however, the security staff are among the rudest i’ve ever known. demanding to see my ID when i’ve been here for over 3 hours and have already had my age checked by other members of staff. if this is the treatment that a regular customer gets then i’m extremely disappointed. but as i said, the wetherspoons employees are lovely. it’s just a shame that the security staff aren’t.

I thought Jeremy Beadle was going to pop out. Went for a cheap and cheerful family tea on Tuesday steak night. This is a large venue and I'm guessing you either need more staff at busy periods or you need new staff altogether. The pub was busy but with enough empty tables to choose from, however the majority of the empty tables had either not been cleared of plates etc, or needed wiping down. The amount of rubbish on the floor was actually shocking. Found a table with no table number on it, went to the bar to place our order and was happy with the service at the bar. The waitress came with our food pretty quickly and all portion sizes were small. There was no cheese on our burgers, I asked if we could have cheese and she just said you didn't order it, and walked away. Thanks for that love. My steak (if you can call it that) was so well done I think I'm going to develop blisters on my fingers from trying to cut it, bearing in mind I asked for medium rare. It was so thin. It would have made a great replacement for the sole of a boot or to make a pair of Dr Martins, belt etc. My husband ordered the mixed grill which he said was OK, but to be fair he's used to eating my cooking, so I'd take this with a pinch of salt. We ordered 4 apple crumbles for pudding (just because we had promised the kids we would have pudding too) and this were actually a decent portion size and 3 out of the 4 were really tasty, but the crumble was soggy on all of them. Mine was too sour (I sound like Goldilocks now) and after looking like I could win a gurning competition gave up trying to eat it. This is hands down the worst "meal" we have ever had and this is saying something as we once had a holiday at Pontins.

Breakfast always cold , Luke warm . You have to gulp it down . Went over to Morrisons in Wood Green and there breakfast were hot .

For the past couple of weeks we were unable to get a seat or table to even order any food...! This is due to bad management as I never experience this in other Witherspoons..

I just went for a spot of lunch so I didn't wander around the place. The bit I saw looked a bit "well used" to be honest. Whilst the food isn't cordon bleu it certainly filled a small gap and was rather enjoyable. I ordered via the app, my drink arrived pretty soon afterwards and the food arrived in a perfectly acceptable time Service was good.

Ordered a halloumi salad that should have come with roasted vegetables, but arrived with just tomato and cucumber?

Only had a cappuccino and a sandwich. Good for the price paid.

I only had a selection of real ales. A good range is available. It is easy to find seating most of the time. Better for me on Mondays when it's quiet. CAMRA Members discount vouchers are accepted here. Bus stop very close by.

Food was ok nothing specail could do with serving on warm plates would help, very quick service and a nice relaxed atmosphere much better than other pubs from the same chain.

Just super service from a lady member of staff who saw that I was on my own with my baby grandson and offered to get my coffee for me. Then made it clear that she would be available for a refill. Food was good but child portion for the baby was nearly the same price as mine! It was unavailable and I saved the cost. Ordering on phone was great but the app thinks this branch is in Leeds and it really threw me!

Avoid the halloumi cheeseburger. Very small portion, not heated through properly. Not value for money at all.

Absolutely disgraceful service. Visited here with our two daughters (4yo and 18 months) and we ordered 2 meals, 1 kids meal (18 month old) and asked if they could do a couple of slices of toast and jam for our 4yo. My 4yo is autistic non-verbal. She struggles with eating food but even more so in public places, all she will eat is toast and jam. The young lad serving said "it shouldn't be a problem", and neither did we as we have had this here before. The supervisor happened to be stood behind him, and immediately said in an abrupt tone "no we can't!" I asked why when we have had it before. He said "because the dial is on buns not toast, we can't change it to toast for just one person". I couldn't believe it. They seriously refused to just turn a dial in order to cater for an autistic child. I told the lad serving to cancel the whole order and we'll go somewhere else, which we did. Will never visit this place again. Disgraceful.

The food they served is a joke. Literally the worst meal I have seen.

I can rate food one of highest levels of wetherspoons I visited before, and I did visit quite few. Eggs benedic was cooked to perfection, a lot green leaves 🍃 on top. Plenty sauce and service was sweet as hell.

Big place, so you have a better chance of finding a table. Lots of choice of beers and other drinks. Like all 'spoons, the food is pretty naff, but it's reflected in the price and it's edible. It's in Garforth, which is a nice area and thus most patrons have their own teeth.

Food was fine and served fairly swiftly, tnough wasn't busy. Garforth has regular drinks choice, not as good as most other Wetherspoons we go to! Tables left uncleared towards end of evening and hot drinks machine/ area never seems to be clean?!

What can I say yes it might be a weatherspoons cheap but not cheerful. There was only one lady behind the bar that was very chatty and friendly. The food was not nice at all first burger came out flat cold and so where the chips. I think there is some serious improvement to be made. No one likes to be at work but a smile costs nothing. I won't be returning any time soon.

I’ve been coming here for years but lately I’ve found it to be just a load of crap I can excuse one or two basic mistakes but the quality and consistency isn’t there anymore 4times I had to repeat my self at the till to place my order I was the only one at the till , hi please can I order a lrg breakfast and a late , Yes love if you want to just come to the till , I assumed I was 4 feet to my left ??? Erm ok She then said ok what can I get you , A LÀTE ,& a large breackfast Please Ok love she said where you sitting 422 And what drink can I get you She said ———————————. The State of the nation —————— The hasbrowns were cold like they’d been reused from yesterday Beans were cold Only thing decent was bacon I sat in car and thought about going in to this cafe instead as my last experience was crap in here but I saw a friend going in to I followed him Needless to say we’ll be meeting in the cafe across the road from now Free coffee my cockle it’s weak and naff

What can you really say, it's a Witherspoon's yes there are nicer ones out there where you don't stick to the table and the lighting is so yellow and dim you have to use the torch on your phone. The menu here seems rather limited and some of the options you get at others are not on the app if you select this pub. Believe it or not the spoons on Blackpool beach front beats this place hands down with cleanliness, lighting. If you can deal with the mutation of your DNA then goto Blackpool but if you don't particularly care about sticking to your chair and table and not been able to read the menu then here is fine

Member of staff went out of his way to check in with my elderly uncle, after asking for a glass of mild ( which is not stocked). Excellent service
