Browns in Leeds

Stephen served us today and he was amazing, great sense of humour and made our afternoon. The food was delicious and the Black Forest martini was the best!

If there are several dishes with salmon on the menu and when the menu is handed over, it is not stated that salmon has run out, that is strange. Furthermore, we had a nice breakfast. And an addition: Visited again today (1/18/25). And the salmon was now there: delicious Eggs Royale 👍 And the service (Alisha) was very friendly and attentive. All in all now 5 stars!

Such a wholsome, great place to enjoy some quality food 👌 I love the atmosphere here with familes and friends on surrounding tables having great fun, staff were really helpful with the menus and the place just oozes class. The decor is just right, the extensive menu has everything you would want from classic meals to more diverse different dishes. I'd recommend the baked camembert cheese 🧀 😍, a bit pricey but what you get in terms of satisfaction is unreal. The chutneys, bread and star of the show CHEESE 🧀 unbelievable quality. Just a shame I head to share 😅 The cocktails menu was limited, however from the few options which were available they all were brilliant and tasted great. I would suggest booking a reservation for tables as it is exceptionally busy, reflecting the great job these guys do, I'll be back very soon for many more memorable meals.

Found that half of food wasn't available wen trying to order , then some of starter's was well rubbish like freezer chicken, main meal was delicious but I wanted another wasn't available, the one I had to order was £5 more that should have been given for price of the meal I wanted , otherwise service was fair , lovely guy,

Excellent food prepared by Ed and Joe. I have loads of food allergies which aren't on the common list. This was not an issue for the team. Faultless.

I went for dinner with my parents as they came up to see me at uni and we had a lovely experience!! we had a waitress called bella who made sure we were catered for the entire night and made sure everything was okay. Would definitely recommend and go back again !!!

I too my mother here for her birthday meal the other day, and as it is in December it often get muddled with christmas celebrations, however our server Ruby was incredibly attentive and made my mums day very special! We loved the food and the atmosphere- definitely recommend!

We had Christmas lunch here and it was lovely. The wait staff were all fantastic as well.

Visited today for a family Xmas lunch, paid £95 a head and we were not impressed, service was slow and quality of food was average, left unhappy, will go to our local pub next year 🥲🥲🥲

We came here for brunch on Christmas Eve and it was lovely! The atmosphere was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. Thank you Michael for doing a great job! Well done to the chefs too it was beautifully cooked.

Food was good but service is seriously lacking. Had to ask our waiter to finally come over. Had to ask our waiter for water. He never filled our cups to begin with. The restaurant was like maybe 40% full on a Tuesday at 12pm. For the prices I expect better service.

Customer service by Alice was appalling and very disappointing (considering she is management) very rude and standoffish to answering questions by children. Not child friendly. Was very disappointed and tarnished a family christmas meal. Not memorable for the children. Very disheartening. Providing feedback regarding retraining your staff is not acceptable as memories can not be replaced. Staff should be adequately trained, especially at Browns! It’s insulting when a reply is given just to confirm feedback has been acknowledged !!

Superb. No other words. Shin beef, Market Fish pie, Asahi, and those Parmesan and Truffle chips are to die for. Elsa was epic as always. If you're in Leeds, come her. Amazing!!

We Had a fantastic Christmas Meal Out this afternoon at Browns in Leeds and was served by Alisha who was very polite and courteous and gave us excellent service. Excellent food, drinks and service. Thank you for an absolutely fantastic afternoon.

Lovely pre-Christmas brunch with friends. Food lovely and excellent service. Restaurant very tastefully decorated for Christmas and waiter was chatty, friendly and efficient. Overall it was a really nice Christmassy atmosphere. Only slight niggle is that the portions were quite small for the price, hence only giving 4 stars for food, although what we had was very nice. Will definitely be visiting again though!

Came for lunch with a friend and had some lovely food. I had the prawn and crab linguine which was delicious and with creme brule for dessert it made a perfect lunch. The restaurant was very busy but the service was spot on and our server was lovely.

Fantastic food, Fish Pie had plenty of fish and a lovely topping. My friend had Prawn and Crab Linguine, she said that it was full of prawns and crab meat, very tasty. Had a bottle of wine called Luisella PG Rose, very smooth and refreshing. The décor was very festive and relaxing, we really enjoyed our Lunch, we would eat here again.

Food Fabulous, service at first was poor, but was rectified. Overall good but not as good as The Ivy.

Good atmosphere had a piano player and singer. Lovely christmas decorations. Service wasn't great and clearly staff not trained very well on table/service etiquette. Got thrown our spoons on the table for dessert. Young lad hadn't got a clue and they wanted £9 for a service charge which they automatically added to the bill. Not the lads fault just lack of training and expectations plus attentiveness. Food mediocre and extremely over priced for what we received, a lot on our plate seemed microwaved and pigs in blanket (only 1 tiny one i might add on each plate) was burnt to a crisp. Main course definitely not freshly cooked from scratch. Poor quality. Best part was dessert had christmas pudding which was really lovely. Doubt we will return for lunch or dinner. Have previously had brunch which was nice.

Booked a table at this very popular eatery. Had the festive set menu for £40. Great atmosphere with old crooner songs about Christmas etc. Really nice guy as a waiter Stephen , and a fabulous Maitre D' hotel.

There were 12 of us and we ordered 4 sirloin steaks among other things and 2was nice however 2 was not they were very fatty and stringy so food wasn’t great. Service was great 👍

Great atmosphere and a safe feeling

It's fine. Christmas was busy as you'd expect and the service team coped well under the circumstances.

Just recently ate here for a work's meal. Was quiet given the day and time and we expected that. Had pre-ordered all food as we had a largish party and all food came out well with no wait for any dishes each course. A couple of vegetarians in the party who were well catered for with several veggie options. We also took advantage of the free cocktails on offer if you signed up as a VIP. That was a nice addition to the meal and I was told they were very good. If there were to be any negatives then I would say one is the service charge at 10% automatically being added. I'm not keen on places that do this. Plus, to be honest they lose out on what is likely to be a larger tip being left. Also it was a shame the music is a Browns set playlist on loop so no option for staff to alter it. Especially for a Christmas meal it would have added more to the atmosphere had the music been more festive. All in all though everyone enjoyed their meals as hadn't been before (I've been for drinks many, many years ago) and I would visit again.

Work Christmas meal - good food options. We pre ordered so the food came out quickly and the staff were attentive. Our server for the day was Will - polite, attentive, efficient. There were several work dogs there so a little bit noisy but still a good atmosphere.

The food we received as brilliant, tasty, and was at the expected temperature. The service we received from Clara was exceptional. She was polite, professional, swift with her service and very helpful. It was a very enjoyable afternoon. If I do have any complaints it would be the location of the toilets and the distance needed to walk in order to get there.

Visited Browns for breakfast on Monday morning, as expected it was quiet, the young lad serving was very polite and very fast with taking and bringing our order. He was extremely well mannered and professional- though it didn’t let our experience down, I wanted to point out how well he dealt with a table of rude ‘Karen’s’. After serving their food, they did nothing but complain from what we over heard as being 1 meal with something burnt - okay, not what you need, however the way they spoke to the poor lad was horrendous, he offered to change the meal and take away the item they were unhappy with but even after some of the food was eaten and had no issue with, AND all 4 drinks had been drank, they walked out with out paying any of the bill. Both our waiter and Manager handled the situation very well, I’d have been very happy with the outcome they offered, it’s a shame some people can’t be as polite, especially this time of year! Sorry we didn’t catch the name of the waiter but well done you!

Would have been 4 stars but the man serving us thought he was clever enough to remember our food order, however as anticipated one meal was wrong when it arrived, it was sorted promptly. Please just write the order down and this is easily avoided.

I can't fault this place. We rarely venture into the city centre for nights out these days, but used to come here a lot when we were a bit younger. On a rare trip out we came back to a place we have always loved and it did not dissapoint. Firstly it was pleasantly buzzing, but not rammed busy on a saturday evening, with a relaxed but vibrant atmosphere. The feel and style of Browns is ever stylish and decadent, and I feel like we are in some movie from the 1930s (in a very good way by the way). Now the service was excellent, we arrived without a booking and were greeted by lovely freindly ladies, and taken and a cosy snug corner of our choice, with no wiating at all. Our Waitress was delightful (I wish we had got her name, but if her manager is reading this she has red hair and was absolutely lovely). Without pressuring us or bothering us, and in the most natural, and relaxed frinedly manner she got us our menus and drinks and left us to choose. she didnt leave us waiting long, yest without pressuring us or being intrusive she checked in, and when ready to order took our orders and in what seemed not time at all returned with our food. I feel like I have waited longer at Mcdonalds (not that i visit there often). We both had steaks, Medium Ribeye for me and Medium Fillet for my partner and we agreed they were cooked to perfection. Along with delicious crispy seasoned fries and melt in the mouth onion rings. The steak was beautiful, crispy and caramlised on the outside, warm, through but pink and tender on the inside, and literally melted in the mouth.For dessert we had the most sublime Creme brulees. And again, we werent pressured but likewise did not have to wait long for our desserts. All in all it was a lovely experience, great food, great service. Thank you so much :)

Visited on Friday for a friends gathering, the first of a few Christmas get togethers. As always the food was pleasant but what really stood out was the excellent service we had from Darcy. She was attentive and actually seemed happy in her work. Thanks Darcy.

My first visit to Browns was amazing! The braised beef was the best I’ve ever had, and the staff were lovely—especially Clara, who was attentive without interrupting. The festive decor created a perfect Christmassy atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!

Came in a week ago for a few chill drinks. Great pint of Guinness and superb old fashioned! bartender Luke was very chatty and gave great cocktail recommendations. Would recommend bar for date night or a few chill drinks.

Platter for 2 starter lovely The surf and turf the steak and trimming lovely but the lobster was rather dry as not much butter and heat lamp damaged/overcooked and dried out. Music was way too loud and our server was too quiet to be heard due to the back ground talking and music We where also left with no dinner plates for when the mains arrived overall a good night let down by some silly mistakes
