Best restaurant in Newlyn! Our second visit here on seperate trips down to Cornwall. The food and wine is delicious and the staff are so friendly, relaxed and welcoming. You need to eat here if you love Italian food, music and wine!

We are visiting the area for a few days, and chose to eat here on our first evening. From start to finish, we could not fault it. The staff are incredibly attentive & friendly, the owner was absolutely lovely too. And the food was absolutely delicious! Between us we had the bruschetta & calamari, the goats cheese pizza & steak, and cannoli to finish…. It was the best meal we’ve ever had, and we eat out regularly in our home town. We enjoyed it so much that we booked to go again tomorrow evening! Thank you so much.

Good flavor, but the size of the pizza was disappointing. left me wanting more even after eating the largest pizza on the menu to myself!

Second time we’ve celebrated a big birthday in two months here. Staff are efficient, polite and incredibly accommodating! Lovely to have a place that is so family friendly and has a good choice of meals to suit all palettes.

Can I give this place 6 stars? We had an amazing meal, this place is special, warm welcoming and relaxed staff, really attentive with no rushing, great menu selection, caprese can sometimes be bland but this starter was very tasty along with hallomi fries, mains of pizzas, melanzane and hake and capers were delicious, flavoursome and great portion size , deserts of cannelloni also sweet and tasty, rare as a family of 5 that we all leave a restarent so satisfied, many thanks.

Me and my partner went for a lovely date night out. What a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic. They did a good gluten-free option for my partner wonderful service. I didn't know anything about wine so I asked for them to recommend me some wine and it was the best wine I've ever had Very happy and I will recommend to anyone

i have been to this restaurant twice now, and each time the service is absolutely impeccable. the staff are attentive, funny, kind, and very knowledgeable on italian cuisine. the food is also the best italian food i’ve ever eaten! couldn’t recommend this place enough.

I love Italian food so when I visit an area I look for just that. Quick Google search and found this nice tucked away place. It's literally right on the main road but you may miss it if your eyes aren't peeled. Staff was friendly, food was satisfying and restaurant overall felt cozy. Value for money!

Had the most beautiful meal here, hard to eat in a restaurant being gluten free but staff were very sympathetic and being coeliac wasn’t a problem, ordered from the special's board, the hake with new potatoes and vegetables and can honestly say was the nicest meal we’ve ever had in a restaurant. Took our two big dogs and were made very welcome, thank you! We will be back

Dinner for five fantastic service the food itself was delicious and the wine great.Going to recommend to all friends and will be returning.

Our bi-annual family trip down the hill to the lovely Bridge. Waitresses were absolutely lovely and did a brilliant job with such a big group (10 of us!). Food was delicious - favourites being the newlyn fish stew, the antipasti platter and pistachio ice cream. Thanks again for having us!

We had to preorder because we were a table of 7 and they were busy, however when we arrived there was only one table of 12 and a couple of couples... despite preordering l, our food took a while. And although most of us were happy, the toscana pizzas were completely different to the description, and the aubergine was in large cubes and still raw. In fairness to them, when this was mentioned they apologised, remade it and took it off the bill, however unfortunately the second one was no better. It must just be the recipe they use, which is a shame as it let's the place down.

Me and my husband visited on our 10th wedding anniversary. We hadn't booked as it was a last minute decision. We are so glad we chose this restaurant. The service was excellent, food delicious, and a faultless experience over all. We would recommend anyone to try here. When we come back in the future, we will be sure to pop in, we are unfortunately not local! We had started eating before I took a pics, oops!

The Bridge hosted our wedding reception and helped to make our wedding exactly what we wanted it to be. They took the time to work out a menu that was perfect for all our guests, including various dietary needs, allergies and intolerances, and the food was outstanding. We always felt confident that Jo and Fab would make sure the evening was just how we wanted it, with all our guests looked after and with minimum stress for us. They were friendly and professional throughout and we really did just turn up and enjoy the evening with no stress. Thanks to all at The Bridge for helping to make our wedding such a fantastic day. We would have no hesitation in recommending The Bridge for similar celebrations.

I walked in unsure if my 3 year old would be allowed in as at first glance it appeared to be a bar as I had found this restaurant on Google while looking for somewhere nearby to get Italian food, The bridge had some good reviews so we decided to try this one and from the first moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed to service with a smile which lasted from start to finish, our child was fast asleep so we laid him down in the chair and without request we were offered a blanket, the two young ladies were very friendly and affectionate they even gave our son some colouring pencils and a colouring book to help keep him entertained as we enjoyed our lovely meals. My wife loved the seafood linguine and I very much enjoyed my margarita pizza that tasted freshly made hot out of the oven. The olives are my favourite, luscious. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere was very relaxed I almost felt at home.

The BEST restaurant in the penzance area. I have been many times and not once have I been anything but amazed by the food, the service and the whole experience. The owners are the friendliest and most lovely couple and have made us feel welcome every time. Without a doubt the best Italian food I've eaten. Love you guys!! (My price given below was for 3 courses)

Really the worst restaurant I’ve been to in my life. The food looks nothing like the pictures. Honestly way worst than even frozen food. We left almost all our food untouched and the waitress still asked for a tip, didn’t even ask why how we liked it OR why we didn’t eat anything. AVOID

Amazing meal. Rang up and managed to get a table thanks to a very helpful member of staff although the restaurant was very busy. Antipasti sharing board for starters. Delicious and generous. We had the hake and monkfish off the specials board and pork.lion. All were delicious. Couldn't fault any of them. Service was great attentive without being over the top. A definite must visit if in the area. Excellent value for money and q great atmosphere in the restaurant

The food was delicious and the staff were really friendly. There was a great atmosphere, we sang another customer happy birthday. As it got darker, I loved the way it was lit. The service was a little slow but we were happy to soak up the atmosphere. We ate squid and a king prawn starter, both were speedily served and delicious. Mains were chicken risotto and the pork dish. These were both delicious although the pork was a little chewy. For pudding we had banofee waffle and profiteroles, again both delicious. Would recommend.

Best meal out in a long time. They were busy so explained when we arrived without a booking that there would be a wait. We were happy to wait and the meal was fantastic.Glad we waited. Service was quicker than expected.

Very busy the evening we went and had to wait longer than expected for our main courses to arrive. Would go back again though.

Good service, food of good quality although expensive, 2 pizzas and 2 drinks £44.. Let down by a freezing cold restaurant which demands you to leave your coats on a peg. Not really necessary and let's down the experience

Stopped by for Saturday evening - they fitted us in with no booking. Traditional Italian menu with some nice specials. We had the seafood pasta, blue cheese chicken + shared the seafood pizza (!). Really generous portions, tasty + well seasoned food. Bonus points for extra parmesan! Friendly + personable service.

The service by the team was outstanding, and very accommodating of our young child in a pram. We both had the Chicken Milanese, so am unable to comment on the other items on the menu, which all sounded good. The food was good, but a little underwhelming. We also ordered a side of fries which didn't arrive until over half way through the meal, which wasn't ideal. I'd probably return if I was in the Newlyn area, but wouldn't make a special trip over again.

Good atmosphere & dog friendly. I felt the food was overpriced for what it was, Calzone was doughy for instance, and they had run out of a few of our choices on the menu. Poor selection of beers, nothing on draft, I hate paying nearly £5 for a small bottle of beer (all 500ml had run out - nip to the Coop next door!) It was okay, but nearly choked when the bill came, especially when the owner asked how much service she should add! Awkward.

Food was fantastic. If I had to pick fault it would be that I wasn't allowed to drink my cider from the bottle (I was given a hot glass and chose not to ruin my cider by pouring drink into it). I ended up not having a say in it when it was poured for me even under protest.

We received a very charming welcome and enjoyed excellent hospitality this evening. The food is excellent and special care is taken of every guest by the team, even if the place is packed. The owner takes care of every detail and is absolutley passionate about his job. Really outstanding, I can absolutely recommend.

Me and my boyfriend (now fiancée) come down yearly and we always make a point to book in. It is honestly the nicest places we’ve ever eaten. The staff are beyond amazing, they are knowledgeable and always have time for you. We had the special potato croquettes and calamari, they both where amazing and full of flavour. We finished it off with a fillet steak which cuts like butter. Thank you so much for making our engagement dinner one to remember ❤️ We will be coming again new year and every year after.

Delicious food and attentive staff made this such a nice experience. We had pizza quattro formaggi and melanzania alla parmigiana which was superb. The pasta there looked lovley too. If we are ever in this area again we will come back!

Recommended if you’re visiting Newlyn or the Penzance area. I’m reluctant to distill the essence of this lovely restaurant into two words “pizza and pasta” as it’s light years away from the homogenised variety found on High Streets everywhere. Modern and traditional Italian dishes Co-habit comfortably on a tempting menu. This is authentic Italian food cooked with love. It’s nice to be surprised and we were; by the wonderful chickpea macaroni, not just a delight for Vegans, and the incredibly rich bolognese. Much like the food the chef patron is genuine and in the busy dinner service manages to spend a little time at the tables ensuring everything is as you like it. A return visit is well advised.

We love this place! Delicious food, great atmosphere and the most welcoming staff. There is a new menu with some fabulous dishes like caponata and the artichoke special was delightful. I'm a vegetarian as you can probably tell but great meat and seafood options too which my other half has thoroughly enjoyed. We're locals and this is definitely our go to. Can't recommend highly enough.

Food was very tasty - especially the starters. However, quite expensive. You pay almost 17 pounds for a portion of bolognese that isn't really that big and where there's no apparent added value, be it through local meat or the like. This is very expensive, especially compared to the pizzas (Margherita costs barely £11). It's best to take several starters and share them, so you're better served. Nice service in itself, but it doesn't go the extra mile that you would expect for the price. We would give 3.5 stars, but since that doesn't work on Google and the food itself is very good, we'll round up.

Unfortunately I think we just went on a really bad day... apparently someone in the kitchen had gone home with an injury so they were very short staffed. They didn't have a couple of options from the food and drink menu, we waited an hour and a half for our starters and the 2 people that ordered Tuscan marinated beef carpaccio served with garlic, shallots and wild mushrooms were served under-cooked steak with some rocket and cherry tomatoes. The main courses were very good and the staff were trying their best, it just wasn't a great experience.

The service was good. The food was a mixed bag. The pizza base wasn't the greatest texture and the flavour overall was a bit lacking or not quite right. The spicy pizza had no heat at all and we added extra chilli oil (I think the chilli oil may have been the problem). The Italian sausage and mushroom had too much thyme or something and the mushrooms weren't cooked enough. Starters were good as were the deserts. Some of the menu also seems a bit confused as it mixes Italian with Spanish or French. Might be nice but I'd prefer classic Italian.

Nice Italian food, simple but well done and all served in an exceptionally friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The owner was delightful chap, welcoming like the true south Italian experience. Pizza was excellent, pasta also excellent.

our visit to the Bridge was excellent! we had the seafood linguine and Bolognese, which my sister said was the best she'd ever had. the service was excellent too - friendly, welcoming and attentive!! we were made to feel truly at home!

2nd visit in a week. Superb service and food yet again. Different specials and desserts to choose from. Would highly recommend a meal here. Fantastico!

Excellent and friendly attentive waitress. Excellent menu choices. Dairy allergies catered for simply with no bother. Nice airy dining area. Food served on hot plates, which can be hard to find these days. Very well priced and would of been happy to pay more compared to other over rated venues in the area.

The Bridge at Newlyn catered for our different allergies and we had two absolutely delicious pizzas. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the restaurant itself was well designed. I would recommend this place to anyone for an enjoyable night out and hope that I may visit again someday.

We have just got back from this italian restaurant and I have not had a pizza that good since being in Italy . Staff and Owner very friendly , a lovely place to eat .

Fantastic food - sole and meat specials. The calamari starter was the best I've had. The person with me who had the meatballs starter said you can tell what the pizzas would be like - lovely! Attentive service. Welcoming atmosphere. Cannot fault it.

This is one of the nicest restaurants I have eaten in Cornwall. Its a beautiful restaurant, with chatty and friendly staff, and beautiful, professionally presented food that couldn't be cooked better. A great mix of fish and Italian dishes means there is something for everyone. If you are in Cornwall, you have to eat here

A nice small local Italian restaurant. We didn’t book and was thankful that they gave us a table despite it being the busy holiday season. The service was friendly. The waitress was helpful. We ordered the mushroom penne in a cream sauce and a spicy Mexican pizza. Both were amazing. I would love to have their food again.

Booked here on the first night of our holiday, had two great pizzas, husband said it was the best gluten free pizza he has ever had. Liked it so much we booked in for another evening where we had the specials. Could not fault the service or food either night, would definitely visit again if we were in the area.

Booked a table for 8pm, arrived and were quickly seated. No sooner had we sat down that a pitcher of water was brought to our table. Our drinks orders were taken 5-10 minutes later and our meal order taken not long after. We started with a tapas meat selection and it was beautiful. I'm a fussy eater and even I found everything to my liking. Our main meals arrived around 9:15 my partner had the pan seared duck and I a stone baked pizza, both meals were absolutely delicious and well presented. I finished the evening with a fresh warm Belgium waffle which again was delightful. The chefs and all the staff are a credit to the restaurant. Every single member of staff had a smile on their face, we were served by I believe Emily? And she couldn't have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. the owner/manager? Was very friendly and had a smile on all his guests face with his positive energy and fun antics. We were there to celebrate my partners birthday(we did not inform the staff) and had a brilliant evening So to surmise great food, great staff, great atmosphere, 10/10 one of the best nights we've had in a long time.

We had a great meal here on a Saturday evening. While most if not all places in Penzance were booked The Bridge had a place for us. All the food was very well cooked and tasted delicious. At the time we enjoyed halloumi fries, duck breast special and seafood linguini. Staff were attentive and very polite. Would be great if they had a few more dessert options but otherwise I would not hesitate recommending or returning

The atmosphere is very nice. Friendly people and good service which is difficult at the time of writing this, due to the effects of Covid. Our food was superb. My wife is vegetarian and asked for a vegetarian version of the spaghetti carbonara with mushrooms and peppers instead of ham. It was no problem to the chef and my wife said it was one of the nicest she has ever had! Praise indeed from someone who has tried carbonara everywhere! I had the seafood pizza and can also say it was excellent and the seafood was very fresh and tasty.

Thank you to all the staff; exceptional food and exceptional service. Made space despite being fully booked. Highly recommend this restaurant, seafood linguini was beautiful.
