Food was amazing and staff was very helpful. We came here on New Year’s Day and while it was busy, our waiter Alex was very attentive and we had a great experience!

I have been here before for lunch and have to say that was a lovely experience, but after Saturday night I will not be returning. As soon as we got there it was cold, brightly lit, and just 0 atmosphere. We were brought out cold foccacia (had very clearly been in the freezer) twice, having sent the first round back. The lamb pasta was bland and I hardly touched it, yet nobody asked if the food was OK. The staff seemed totally disinterested and altogether pretty sleepy. Just a total waste of a great restaurant and setting. Dim the lights, put some heating on and get staff who are genuinely interested in providing a good service! A front of house was severely lacking.

My friend and I were there for dinner. We had a lovely table at the window looking across the golf course to the beach. Fantastic view. I had stayed in this hotel many times before and also since it was taken over by present owners. One of the many best things the new owners have done was to remove those curtains which blocked the wonderful views. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would recommend the restaurant. Lovely ambience and reasonably priced. The waitress who looked after us was very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and she was very knowledgeable about all the items on the menu. She really made us feel welcome . If I was running a restaurant this is the type of person I would want to work for me. Thank you Nina you are a real credit to the company.

Spectacular view, beautiful room, excellent service, but food was mixed.. Salad was not dressed and then came back overdressed. Fresh burata was excellent but the Frita was more like bar food. The bucatini was oddly bland and dry.

Outstanding quality of food and service, definitely choose here over other Italian in St Andrews and we have tried all. Little Italy is good and this place has the edge over ambiance, views, quality of food and delightful service, definitely worth the visit, 💯 % And then up to then roof top bar for cocktails and views over the beach and 18th hole of the old course 😊

If you're thinking that The Bridge (named after the famous Swilken View bridge on the 18th of the Old Course which is visible through the windows) is just the dining room in a smart hotel, then think again. The Rusacks hotel opened a new extension last year, and moved their main dining room to the top floor of the new building. Whilst "The Bridge" was their original dining room, it has been revamped into an Italian restaurant. And a terrific one at that. Which means that there are now two Italian restaurants in St Andrews and this is BY FAR the best. And it is - significantly - the cheaper of the two. For a start there is a lot of authenticity in the cooking. The head-chef is Italian, which helps, and the outlook, across the Old Course and beach at St Andrews, is a delight. The other has a view of an alleyway! The menu is a-la-carte, with a range of starters, 7 choices of main course plus 4 (large) sourdough pizzas to which a range of different additional toppings can be added. There are also other choices such as meats freshly cooked to order on a grill. My wife and I have eaten here on half-a-dozen occasions now, and every meal has been consistently excellent. The pappardelle with slow-cooked beef-shin ragu and gremolata is a particular favourite, and the pizzas are generous and flavoursome with the crusts cooked to just-starting-to-char perfection. My experience of eating in restaurants in smart hotels is that they overcharge. This is not the case at The Bridge where the pricing is surprisingly light. At the time of writing, Pizzas start at £9.50 and pasta dishes at £10.50, with the most expensive dish being £18. Trust me when I say that as a resident of St Andrews, that represents FABULOUS value for money. The wine-list, whilst a little limited in choice, offers good value-for-money too. Service is very professional and discreet and this has become our go-to restaurant of choice to eat with friends as it is so reliable and good-value for such quality.

Great food! We really love Italian and enjoyed the food which was of a high standard. My started with Frito Misto,.Spring vegetable arancini, Parma ham and fresh burrata. Mains were bucatini Tuscan pork ( really excellent) Chicken Milanese (wow), Parma ham pizza (very good sourdough base) and pappardelle with beef. Really good! Service was top notch with all the staff being committed to provide a great experience! We go back time and again. Thanks very much!

We chose to dine at The Bridge on Saturday 27th November as part of my mums birthday celebrations, Decor beautiful but that’s about the only positive I can say. Despite there being many staff members working it took a while for us to get a drink order and order our food - we let this slide. Given the menu is very limited (which we did know beforehand) we expected the food to be of a top quality - it wasn’t. It was very basic (at best). We waited and waited and waited for food and when it finally did arrive the sides we ordered were nowhere to be seen - after waiting 10 minutes we asked for these to be brought us. This took about another twenty minutes by which time the food was cold and my sister had eaten her whole meal (they did take the chicken to “keep it warm” but really not good enough service). We had also booked a drinks reservation at the rooftop bar for 9pm which I asked the girl to delay as we hadn’t even had our main by that point (we arrived at 7:45) , instead of calling up to the rooftop and asking them to delay our table which she said she would, I received a cancellation email from the 18 bar! I did NOT ask for my table to be cancelled!!! Anyway, as a gesture of goodwill they gave my mum a glass of champagne (which she doesn’t drink) and £26 off the bill. Personally I wish I hadn’t paid for the two mains that came so late and I do believe a restaurant/hotel of the Calibre of Rusacks should be looking after their guests later. We have been visiting Rusacks for over 20 years and this experience has really put us off. We unfortunately won’t be back! The decor is beautiful which is why I have given the two stars - everything else far below par.

Food was good but the portions were too big. Restaurant lacks ambience, was super noisy and the meal was rushed. Such a shame as it’s an amazing spot overlooking the 18th fairway of the Old Course and the R&A. Used to be beautifully decorated but now decorated like a diner chain. Our entire meal, beginning to end, took an hour. Overall a pretty disappointing experience.

We visited on a whim during a nice New Year’s Day stroll through St. Andrews. We’ve enjoyed zizzi’s before (in Inverness and Glasgow) so we were excited to give this one a go. In a nutshell to anyone reading this I’d give this Zizzi’s a miss due to the incredibly disappointing service. There was one table occupied in the whole restaurant yet we had to wait five minutes to be greeted and seated. We ended up having to provide ourselves with menus and get halfway taken to a table. There wasn’t difficulty finding a table but for some reason she disappeared as we were grabbing our seats no offer of drinks till five minutes later. She seemed to lack interest - which is fair, we thought that perhaps she drew the short straw and had to work New Year’s Day. However, if that were the case, as much as we can understand the bitterness, we as the customers shouldn’t have had to take the brunt of it. We had a rustica pizza - which was lovely as usual. The lasagne however was as disappointing as the service. Small, somewhat standard lasagne for a ridiculous price. A young man took us our pizza and lasagne - he was the only saving grace of the service. He made eye contact, he was friendly, happily got us everything we asked for as extras - testament to the restaurant! The original lass took us our fries and for some reason threw/slammed the plate on the table. We then asked another lass working (who seemed like she might have been in charge) after finally getting her attention for some more fries which she seemed super stressed (at this point there was now 4 tables in the whole restaurant and the young man was the only one seen to be actually working so unsure why she seemed so stressed). She also walked briskly past our table and slammed the plate down. We were taken aback by the treatment and even made a joke that they’re rushed of their feet with four tables so it makes total sense 🙄 Luckily the young lad ended our visit with a typical waiters farewell of thanks and have a good night. Unfortunately we passed the two lasses at the bar as we were leaving, now I’m not sure why did, but I said Thank you and bye as I walked past them and not one of them looked up and said anything. Honestly quite shocked with the incredibly poor service. Even if you’re bummed to be working on a public holiday you can still provide decent service. Borderline hostile and we’re not sure why. Thanks to the young lad. You’re the seemingly only professional there and excellent at your job!
