After an afternoon of kayaking and having Dolphins jumping by the side of our vessels we thought our day couldn't get better ......we strolled to enjoy a liquid refreshment and could see the Boy Ashore s fairy lights were twinkling under their sails. We entered to much laughter and aromas from their cuisine which made the amazing atmosphere. We had our very cold drinks which was lovely with baskets of whitebait , served with lemon , dill and a portion tartare sauce. A very enjoyable experience ...... Well done and be proud all concerned

We came to The Boy Ashore on the 24th of Aug and we had a lovely start to our evening. The young woman on the bar was super helpful & the location and premises were great. However after ordering food an older male member of staff who we discovered was part of the family run business very rudely told us to “move up because other people had to sit here”. We were slightly confused as there were already 5 of us and we had told anyone who had asked to sit on our table that they were very welcome to. There were also multiple tables around us that had not been asked to move. Although the man was rude we agreed to move up, we moved up the table & left space on the far side of the bench closer to the speakers. The guy came over 5 minutes later and told us “don’t take the piss”, we explained that we wanted to sit further from the speaker as one of our party was deaf and gestured towards our party member who was obviously wearing a hearing aid. In response, coupled with a lot of eye rolling and rude body language the man aggressively gestured for us to leave. We were honestly shocked and it really ruined our night. We also heard him asking other tables to move, which he did a lot more politely than he had spoken to us. He later came over and attempted a half hearted apology saying that he “did not realise our circumstances”. Personally whether or not one of our party was deaf the way we were spoken to was disgusting. We suggested the man should come back and apologise once everyone was back from the toilet as only 2 of us were left at the table when he came over. In response he was rude again and told us he was “not obliged” to do this then stormed off. As a table of young people (25-28) we understand that perhaps the man may have had preconceptions that we were not going to purchase enough and were wasting table space. However this was not the case and we were all very polite and were peacefully having food and drinks very much keeping to ourselves. We ended up asking to take our food away as members of our group were extremely upset. Whilst everybody else we spoke to was incredibly sweet & apologised multiple times for the way we had been treated I’d like to stress that being aggressive and rude is never okay, especially not when it is completely uncalled for and when the party in question have just spent around £120 in your establishment. Despite how annoyed and upset we all were we’d like to thank the younger members of staff who apologised to us, we appreciated it a lot and this review is in no way reflective of them.

Beautiful view and delicious food - would recommend the chicken burger especially! Slightly on the expensive side but a lovely holiday spot. Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant experience with a rude staff member. We are group of young professionals on holiday and we’ve never experienced anything like it. All other staff members were lovely and very apologetic for his behaviour.

Beautiful beach location with a rustic beach bar Very attentive friendly staff Great food, stunning burgers … so good we had to add more. Portions perfect. As burgers go these were smash, well stacked and full of flavour. Excellent selection of beers, wines, cocktails & mocktaiks. Great beach vibe, highly recommended. Most likely our future go to!

Perfectly positioned on the beach in the delightful village of Aberporth, the simplicity of The Boy Ashore added to its charm. With a choice of local craft beer and lager, combined with great tasting chicken or cheese burgers and monkfish bites, not to mention the delicious potato cakes. A very friendly atmosphere and dogs very welcome, could easily have stayed there longer (shame we had to drive!). Just beware the toilets are a 5 minute walk away in the car park!

This is a fab place, the feel of it is fantastic, the food is excellent, I gave it a three star because for 82 pounds for the two of us for drinks and the food, I expect waitress service and a toilet. The toilet is the public toilet up across the beach up to the car park and up the stairs past the life savers hut on aberporth beach. If the weather was bad your walking quite a distance. Not good. The pictures attached is the trek to the toilet.

A gem of a place. A relaxed style - cardboard food boxes, wooden cutlery, clear your own table etc therefore not somewhere to eat if you're looking for fine dining. Food was wonderful. Chicken burger was crispy yet succulent, lobster was fantastic, my daughter had the best cheeseburger she's ever eaten and my son wolfed his monkfish nuggets down with a big grin. Would highly recommend eating here and can't wait to come again next time we're in Aberporth.

Fabulous spot with views out to the sea, and food equally as wonderful. Loved the Balearic feel with beer, chill and sea air - even sunshine! Don’t miss the smokey mackerel balls and horseradish dip. Chicken burger and fish patty bun also really delicious. Potato cakes with seaweed salt and Aioli the cherry on top. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We came here for the first time in 2 years, because of the happy times and superb memories we have from this restaurant. I am pleased to say that they did not let us down, and are still just as good, if not better, as they were on that summer night 2 years ago. We came in a group of four, and were seated at the back, overlooking the beach. The atmosphere was welcoming and warm, while the staff members were very friendly and accommodating, which is always nice to have after a long day. We had pre-ordered the food online, but were kind enough to let us change one of the orders to a different menu item. As for the food itself, I had a fried chicken burger with potato cakes, which are quite similar to potato croquets or hash browns. The chicken was cooked all the way through but not dry, which is always something I appreciate. One other member of our family had their kids’ beef burger, which had a “rustic flavour but not overcooked” - we were delighted. If you want to have a look the potato cakes, we have a photo attached, but all I can say is that they were far better than any potato croquets you can buy from a store. The outside was crispy, while the inside was a more melt-in-the-mouth texture - there’s nothing quite like it. Our waiter then offered his recommendation of which drink to choose - he recommended the ginger beer, which was lovely. We then moved onto the dessert, which was ice cream with rum-roasted pineapple. I was extremely glad I ordered it as soon as I tasted the ice cream (which apparently uses a new mixture using whole milk, rather than a shop-bought version) and the pineapple (which was lush and quite unique). We are very glad we came here, and recommend it to families or indeed anyone looking for a great BBQ restaurant, with service that is nothing short of exceptional.

Finally managed to get my personal administration in order prior to holiday and booked a table at The Boy Ashore. It was so good I we went back for a second time - but note booking was pretty much essential. Wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and both the children and dog loved it

The Boy Ashore is a true one off - fantastic location and great atmosphere. The menu is short and that’s a good thing as the food is so well done. It’s also a really friendly place. We loved it!

Lovely food & great service. Fresh mackerel & king prawns superb. Kids loved the burgers. Definitely recommend to book. Only downside is the weather 🥶 I would imagine on a warm night it would be even better.

Wow what a beautiful place!! Loved our stay here. Angharad and Rob are just a wonderful couple and make you feel welcomed and at home. The homemade cakes in the room were gorgeous and breakfast was the best. They've done such an amazing job with Caemorgan Mansion it's beautifully decorated throughout. We will definitely be back when we visit the area again. Thank you for having us 😊 and Mwnt was definitely worth the visit.

I would give this place no stars if i could as it is worth a zero rating.Pizza was absolutely discusting and tasted really strange, nuggets were so greasy, some of the order was wrong but in edible anyway.Worst takeaway i think we have ever had.Avoid even if you are starving!.
