The Box Cafe in Cambridge

If you want a shot to sip of Turkish coffee or some bona fide baklava, this is the place to go. There's plenty of seating inside, divided up into rooms so you can actually have a private conversation, too. The Western stuff on offer is only OK, but don't go there for that--get the Mediterranean goodies!

I can’t say enough about The Box Cafe, their delicious authentic food, their welcoming atmosphere and the amazing owner Ozzy. Such wonderful food and friendly service. I highly recommend checking them out if you are in Cambridge or the surrounding area. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience.

Nicely decorated, still looks like an industrial estate. Had over priced , very mediocre breakfast ..two burnt aged sausages , one tough rasher of bacon , two eggs , beans and mushrooms. Two toasts. £10 plus coffee. Worth 5 tops. Couldn’t be arsed to send it back. Turkish food looks unappealing andstale. Hanging round all day. Wouldn’t go again. Find a greasy spoon on the main road. In a word. Crap.

We recently attended a wedding celebration at The Box cafe. The mezze dishes were varied and plentiful and just kept on coming. The main event of salmon en croute was amazing as was the plum cake for dessert. The staff were friendly and accommodating. It was an amazing day and relaxed and casual - just as the bride and groom had hoped

Fresh home cooked delicious Turkish food, friendly staff, perfect local treasure. Massive portions, reasonably priced.

I go to The Box often and highly recommend their lentil soup, which is tasty and nourishing. They can provide it vegan with gluten free bread. A lovely Turkish couple owns and runs this restaurant. Whether I go for the soup, meze platter, or coffee I am greeted warmly and have a tasty treat. Lots of seating too, very low-key atmosphere.

The cafe offers English and Turkish breakfast and more during the day. The food is freshly prepared, very tasty and of high quality. There are tables outside where you can sit in a relatively quiet environment Definitely a recommendation!

This place is amazing, excellent food, really friendly staff and run by a very nice family. The choice on offer is very good, everything from simple sandwiches and cooked breakfasts to mezze and other more exotic options. I have yet to hear ANYBODY who has eaten here say anything negative about this place and it has many, many regulars! Tucked away in Norfolk street and not the easiest place to find but if you're near The Blue Moon pub, you're only 15yrds away! Highly recommended 😁😁😁💯

I have had coffee and/or lunch at The Box Cafe many times over the last 9 months. Always, friendly service and good fresh food.

I enjoyed the all day breakfast, good quality produce and perfect size. Coffee was also good. Worth a visit if you’re this side of town. It’s just off the Main Street, we couldn’t see it until we were right outside.

I didn’t know this was a Turkish place until I arrived. I ordered a barak (if that’s the right spelling) - a pastry with feta cheese and other ingredients - spinach and herbs. It was light and delicious, and the staff were friendly. Then two Turkish coffees - delicious and served in proper cups.

This Café is hidden away by the Grafton Centre and few would know it was there. The meals are excellent with a Mediterranean flavour and the Meze is a very special example. The well prepared coffee flavour brings back memories of holidays in the Med.

This café offers an interesting range of tasty home baking along with some superb and surprising Portuguese products. W particularly like the custard tarts and the unusual tomato jam, though not together!

Oh yes I absolutely loved the Turkish scrambled egg with sausage served with a salad. Fantastic. What let it down was the tea. Sadly no teapot and the water did not seem to have boiled so it wasn't really drinkable. But my goodness the breakfast was sooo good. Friendly owner. Will be back

Food and service excellent. Friendly. Agree basic interior but perfectly fine. Quite a lot of room. We have also just recently discovered it and will be back to try out more of the food.

I’ve been living in Cambridge two years now. I can’t believe I haven’t discovered The Box Cafe earlier! Tucked away off Norfolk street it’s classic charm and laid back ambience makes it the perfect place to work, read, hang out all day! Child friendly also!

This is a very lovely café with an outside space in a quiet yard. The food is simple, fresh and delicious, with generous portions (so quality and quantity). The menu includes some sandwiches and salads, as well as some delicious and more substantial dishes. The mezze plate is amazing and so are the various soups inspired by Turkish cuisine. They cater for vegetarians and non vegetarians. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Love this place.

Slightly off the beaten track but still only a short walk from the Grafton shopping centre, this is Turkish themed cafe offering a wide range of snacks and drinks. Basic interior. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices make this worth a visit

A really friendly cafe. Love the local art displayed. Good range of menu choice. Value for money. Something different from mainstream. A little way out of centre of Cambridge, but well worth a visit.
