Had an amazing meal out here - not only a really good curry, but the service was great too. We had the garlic & chili chicken & lamb curries, with the butter naan, pilau rice and masala chips as sides. Absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced for the quality of food, we'll definitely be coming back

Lovely spot for some lunch. We went last Sunday with our step-father/in law having travelled down from Worcestershire. I enjoyed a well cooked Chicken jalfrezi, my wife a well filled pie and father in law a chicken wrap. Happy to recommned this place.

dissapointing- only 3 pieces of paneer, didn't like the onion bajees but nann bread was nice

I ordered a Sunday Lunch. Food was okay but millions of peas!!! I did not receive the gravy I paid for so that spoilt the Sunday Lunch 😔 for £14?

Always great food and atmosphere and only a stones throw from home. Definitely recommend the curries have not had any of the other food.

Good food and they have vegan meat option in curry as well which is very good for the people who don't eat meat. Worth try this was my 2nd visit and I keep on visiting.

Was taken here by family who live locally, great pub. Good choice of beer and our currys were fantastic. Wish we lived nearby as it would become our regular. Would highly recommend.

I hate leaving bad reviews as I appreciate how business struggle in this day and age, but feel like I need to as to be frank I feel ripped off. I ordered a Sunday dinner the meat wasn’t fresh and had been reheated (it was like eating leather), there were vegetables missing, the bistro gravy was tasteless and the potatoes, Yorkshire and stuffing I pretty sure were Aunt Bessie’s, if not her’s they were definitely ready made. All in all I am really disappointed and feel totally ripped off … avoid t

Sunday dinner- Sadly the food was really poor…2 of the smallest slices of beef that resembled a cold meat pack of beef and the mash was smash that had a resemblance to custard…I would have been better off with a frozen microwave dinner really poor and a total waste of money …please avoid the roast dinner and save your money …will now be cooking as most of the food went in the bin

Walked in without reserving a table. Wow it was a busy Friday evening. Found an empty table and soon ordered drinks and food. While it's not the largest menu, all the favourites are available. We opted for Indian cuisine Jalfrezi and Chilli garlic chicken. Served quickly and fantastic flavours.. lovely atmosphere great to see a local pub thriving. Thanks all.

3 meals ordered and 1 meal was was quite late arriving after the others. The 3 meals were awful. Desserts were poor and 1 was inedible. Overall a poor dining experience.

Very nice evening out with friends

We went here for Sunday lunch, the meat was clearly frozen then reheated in a pan as it had burn marks on the meat. The potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were frozen. Not very much homemade. Quick service & good gravy. Indian food here is delicious but I don’t recommend the Sunday lunch

Stumbled across here for a quick drink while staying at a nearby air BnB. Couldn't resist ordering a few dishes off the menu, freshly cooked and a tandoor oven. Service was amazing. Great idea. Wish more places would do the same instead of serving standard pub grub.

We visited The Bowen’s after our friend recommended it stating it was ‘the best curry around’. He wasn’t wrong, everything about our visit was excellent. From the moment we stepped in we were greeted by a fantastic hostess who knew the menu inside out and helped us select our dishes. The chilli chicken starter is a must try along with a side of the best onion bahji’s we’ve had in a long time. Each curry can be tailored to your preference of spice. Good selection of premium drinks by the bar and all in all a great atmosphere in the restaurant. Thanks again to all the staff. We will be back (again)

Got recommended to the Indian in the bowens by a friend and my god they weren’t lying. I’m a massive fan of Indian food and this was the nicest I’ve had in a while. Very tidy man serving and massive perk that they have premium lager on draft as it’s a bar to. Highly recommended

We've been before in the evening and had the Indian menu, and it was delicious. We thought we would try the Sunday roast....and it didn't disappoint! 😋😋😋 Really good quality food, and very reasonably priced.

Went to the bowens for a curry and ordered chicken balti, egg rice and chips……it was outstanding !!! Had to go back and try it again to make sure it wasn’t a fluke and it wasn’t 😀

Visited here last night family of of 14. Food all arrived together piping hot. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed, outstanding food, best curry I've had in a long time, cant wait to return

Really nice pub good atmosphere

Went as a couple, had starters of chutney tray, lamb curry & lamb balti, mushroom rice, masala chips. Cooked absolutely perfect, best tasting curry we have had & we have eaten in many places. Look forward to returning

Nice pub, decent atmosphere. Located exactly half way between me and my best mate and in walking distance, so we go regularly. Yet to sample the food, but it looks good and specialises in Indian food. Will update once I've tried it.

This is a local, bright, open plan, pub with regular customers in the bar area but plenty of quieter tables around. The owners have managed to successfully fuse together a pub and a curry house. Had a wonderful meal and all freshly cooked. The sharing platter and curry were so good. You could certainly smell and taste the spices but they did not overpower the meat. Try the freshly cooked onion bhaji as a starter- so good. We had onion bhaji (x4), popadoms, chutney tray. Mains: sharing platter (fish goujons, chicken wings lamb kebabs, chicken pieces and curry sauce) Lamb Sag and rice...two pints of bitter - £42 and honestly well worth it

Would recommend. We had beautiful authentic curries which were freshly cooked in a spotless open kitchen. The staff were friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We'll definitely go back or pick up a takeaway if we're passing.

Once again outstanding, garlic naan fluffy and beautiful. The butter chicken is just as it should be, smooth creamy and authentic; full of flavour (my new favourite here) Cant praise this place enough they never miss, need to come in person and shake that chef's hand. 100% best curry I've had in this area and good price too.

Always been a nice pub, however its since undergone a major refurbishment and I must say its very impressive. Lovely place to call in after work for a catch up with friends or to take the wife out for a nice evening.

What a great place to enjoy a few drinks & a lovely meal. Staff cant do enough for you, very personal touch with the service they offer making your custom very appreciated. Suitable for children of all ages, pool table & brillant for watching sport in certain areas of the venue. Whilst a more restraunt like expericne in the other room, the decor is spot on very warm and friendly place. Cant believe its the same building as the former Bowen Arms! Cant wait to go back.

Drove past on our way back home seen it advertised home cooked food, popped in to a uncomfortable atmosphere where asked if they do food was declined. Needs to change the signage, to stop people wasting their time

Quiet local, no longer serves food

Very disappointed. Went there Saturday evening for a meal and it turns out that they have stopped serving food. But the sign is still outside saying they serve food. Yet another pub has gone to the dogs. Wouldn't be surprised if they close very soon, 😔

They serve fantastic food but their soft drinks are really expensive. Bottle of coke £1.75 a pint of squash £1.30

We popped in on the off chance to see if they could fit us in, which they could. Food was lovely excellent selection of meats and vegetables. We didn’t have desert as we were full, only criticism would be it’s quite pricey for one course at £9 if they reduced the price I think they would attract more customers. Also if they advertised regular on Facebook with up to date posts if there menu. This could be a much busier pub with the right advertising on all social media. The daily menu 2 for £12 is excellent value it starts 12-6pm again advertising this daily would be excellent for business!
