Very mediocre food, almost no veggie options, and incredibly slow service. Probably best just to go for a drink.

Great dinner on Thursday night! Everyone there was so welcoming and accomodating. The steak was amazing and my partner had the hake special which was also incredible. Really look forward too coming back again!

Been to The Botanist after a while. The service was good but i didn’t like the new salt and pepper calamari. The one that was served before was way better and i normally order a few portions just for myself. I ordered only one this time. I would like to have the other calamari back. Overall it was nice as usual

The Botanist hosted my leaving drinks from Kew. The staff were great in coping with the 30+ guests and the reserved table arrangements worked well. The two staff on duty were amazing and kept me up to date with the tab and made sure everyone was served quickly. Great staff and great setting.

Revisit Sunday 8th Sept 2024. Good food again. Friendly and polite staff. Sunday lunch platter for two!! Sunday 19th May 15.00 hrs. Altogether a good experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Sunday lunch superb in quality and value. Will be back.

THIS IS MY GO-TO SPOT. The food is something else - so tasty (even forgot to take pics, couldn’t wait to get started) and great variety. Literally, it’s a hidden gem!!!

The food tastes great, service was quick and excellent and the Atmosphere was welcoming. Had a date there I totally recommend 👍.

I’ve been to the restaurant 3 times now i I’ve continued to love the food, aesthetic and most especially their customer service. I promise to visit again on my next trip.

This pub had been on my must-visit list since 2019, and I finally made it this Saturday for lunch before heading out for a walk. The pub itself is beautiful and clean, with great, accommodating staff who were attentive and checked in on allergies and other details. The drinks were excellent, but unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the high prices. We ordered two fish and chips and a Milanese chicken. While the batter on the fish was well done, the fish itself wasn't fresh, and the chips were stale—a surprising disappointment. The Milanese chicken, advertised with a panko-breaded coating, could have been more generously coated and flavorful. Overall, while the experience was pleasant, the food quality didn’t match the expectations set by the ambiance and pricing.

Such a lovely pub, we had our birthday celebration here this weekend everyone is so lovely!

Just gotten back from a delicious Sunday roast. Had the "sharing roast" between two which was a struggle to finish given how generous it was, but I made sure we did finish it because it was delicious! Followed up by some fantastic deserts! Think best sticky toffee pud I've had in London Staff were lovely and friendly as well.

Had a lovely sunday lunch here, Lock really looked after us and made our visit special!

I spent a lovely couple of hours at The Botanist earlier this week. The service was good and the bar staff were friendly and helped create a lovely atmosphere (enhanced by the smell of petrichor on the air 🙂). I'll definitely be returning and recommending.

Fantastic, beautiful, modern pub with excellent food, beautiful decor and a great vibe. Honestly deserves a higher rating. Had one of the best pub burgers I've had in years, and the fish and chips were excellent too. So many places let you down on the desserts but not here, we had the chocolate torte and lemon tart, both incredible, fresh and dreamy but especially the lemon tart had that beautiful sharpness with the sweet raspberry sorbet and reduction. Sublime. Beautiful place to spend an afternoon. Lovely staff, attentive but never invasive, friendly polite and chatty. Great pub can't wait to come back!

Held my 30th birthday party here. We hired out the courtyard bit. Shaun/Lock in particular were super helpful throughout the whole process, from early planning to clearing up on the night. Beautifully kept pub and delicious food. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone throwing an event!!

Not a good meal . We ordered a Burger and king prawn and crab with pasta . Burger roll was stale and burger was cooked welldone and dry . Shrimp a crab had No Crab in fish . Wasted good money ,Avoid this joint

One of the best pubs I’ve been to! The staff were amazing.

Lock was very helpful, kind and understanding - when I performed there and so were the offer staff, offered outstanding customer service and all customers were very satisfied with their time in the pub. Lock went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed to make my performance enjoyable. It always has a lovely atmosphere, I have been back a few times and will continue to go regularly.

Booked online which was a straightforward process. My wife has some intolerances which they were aware of and helped throughout the evening. There are plenty of different areas to sit so you can either have privacy or enjoy the atmosphere. There was live music for an hour which was really good but you could also be away from it if it is not your thing. The menu had a great choice and the staff were very knowledgeable about the content. No real waiting time, the food was served at good intervals. Food itself was very good, my wife is normally quick particular but rated it very highly. Overall, it was a lovely evening and we celebrated our anniversary. The staff were very relaxed and we were allowed to bring our small dog although some parts of the premises do not allow. A great experience and we will be back.

Simply the best ! Never disappointed at the botanist in Kew. Great service and great atmosphere in this lovely pub in Kew garden. We went for the Sunday roast which was delicious never had a roast so good ! Well done chef. If I need to find something to complain about maybe the gravy was too lose but , the potatoes and roast beef was cooked at perfection. Really recommend a visit .

Just had dinner at this place and left fully satisfied. We had Sea Bass and Chorizo from the specials menu (genius combination), and the Chicken, Ham and Leek pie with creamy mash. Both meals were very tasty and given it's location, a very reasonable price. We'll worth a visit.

This restaurant / bar provides superb dining and drinking in very pretty setting in Kew Bridge. Food is delicious indeed and the service absolutely lovely. Especially if you get lucky to be served by Lock whose personality just brightened up our day , chatty lovely and most helpful to make us feel special in every way. We shall certainly be back in near future. Thank you !!!

More than a meal, this was an EXPERIENCE. Spent the morning at Kew Gardens then lunch with family at this amazing pub. Lach was our server and was amazing. Flavours across the bird were remarkable. We’ll visit again before departing England.

Spent the early Sunday afternoon here with my family for a birthday and it was wonderful. The food was delicious and the team was amazing too! Particularly our server Aaron who was really attentive and even did a little birthday dance for my auntie! Thanks so much guys

Service was great, food was terrible. Overcooked meat (sharing roast), beef was forgotten and had to ask if it was included, vegetables were drowned in oil. Overall a very disappointing experience and honestly I would not return to the Botanist despite living only 10 mins away.

Food and service were lovely. Menu varied, it was a nice afternoon. Beautiful decor.

We were surprised how empty the restaurant was when we arrived. We were sat at a table next to a pipping hot radiator so we asked to move and the lovely staff accommodated us. The food was warm but not hot which was ashame. The cutlery was blunt which made the slightly over cooked beef difficult to cut. The chicken and lamb was utterly delicious. As I said the staff were friendly and attentive.

The food was quite good, just the chicken milanese had too much rosemary what made it taste weird. The service could be quicker but it didn’t compromise the experience

Superb Sunday roast and friendly staff

I had a lovely time for my sisters birthday recently, great food and very friendly staff.

Lovely pub, nice to have fresh made Radler - pretty rare in the UK!! Delicious scotch egg too. Nice terrace area for a sunny day

Service was very slow. Took our order fast but then took forever to bring us some water and our drinks. Food took forever and then starters came and before we had finished the starters the main courses arrived. Salads were ok. The prawn salad had hardly any prawns. The live band was a nice touch. Sorry but I wouldn’t come again.

We had several issues. Although very polite, our waiter asked us for a drinks order before we were even seated. One of our starters did not arrive and although we were offered it my partner had nearly finished his by this time. Our main courses were delicious but my potatoes were undercooked. On reporting this to the waiter he offered to take my meal back to the kitchen but again my partner was part of the way through his so I suggested the potatoes were removed from my bill. I was offered an explanation about how the potatoes were cooked, but clearly the process hadn't been followed since the potatoes were inedible. Were then asked if we wanted dessert before we had even finished our meal! My meal was deducted from the bill, however I would have preferred a relaxing meal rather than the hassle. Additionally we do not understand why we were seated in the old window area at a broken table rather than in the newer more attractive area. We had booked in plenty of time and the place wasn't busy.

This is the first time we came to the botanist in the last year. The staff are lovely but very understaffed. I am afraid probably due to bad management. We found an advance and reserved food and a table. When we got there the pub was empty and they said there were no roasts left even though we reserved them! The time before when we went, we had to order all food the bar as they were understaffed we had to clean our own tables when the food arrived. It was cold. We said we would never come back. The time before that was also disappointing. They said they were very busy and they had no staff. I know it is very difficult to get staff But today the pub was completely empty and they said they had no food. We went over the road to the coach and horses which was rammed and had the most delicious Sunday. Roast we have had in a long time

Excellent food but underwhelming desserts, not too many veggie options, somewhat slow service, pricey but you pay for the location and ambience.
