Lovely atmosphere and staff are wonderful loved the cocktails would recommend to a friend if they wanted a lovely little place to go

Not the best experience one can expect. Vibe was great and good music. Part of the bar I believe was privately hired so waiting time was over 30 min just for a cocktail. By the time we were served happy hours have passed. The female Asian bartender also did not respect the queuing system and was very ignorant. I wouldn’t come again on a Friday night.

Cool place, Charlie the manager was really friendly and recommended some great drinks for our group. Alfie and Jodi were also friendly, nice team working here. It’s got amazing music and quality drinks. Highly recommend it!

Great cocktails a real hidden gem ☆☆☆☆☆

This is probably one of the best cocktail bars I have ever been to. Three things I always look for in a bar for which I give 5 stars to and that is great service (the barman was fantastic and really friendly), great cocktails (the Mrs Kipling and Old Fashioned was exceptional) and great atmosphere (music was so relaxing and great vibes). This is honestly the best bar in the whole of Exeter and one I will always keep coming back to. Yes prices are slightly expensive but who cares when the bar is this amazing. Worth every damn penny!

We didnt have food here but the cocktails and atmosphere was amazing Mawgan was also performing who was wonderful a fabalous night

Funky cocktail bar with table service and the occasional live band. Table service is a nice touch, but orders sometimes slip and my group did get a couple of iffy-tasting espresso martinis. Overall though it's a nice atmosphere and they'll even go off menu if you know what you like.

Came in on Saturday night, was greeted by the lovely Ollie who made our last stop for pub golf unforgettable. He was very accommodating and in high spirits despite the large volume of customers on a Saturday night.

Had a fantastic time at the cocktail masterclass led by Charlie (Exeter). Completely recommend to anyone. Excellent music, wonderful bartender, fantastic place. My favourite place in Exeter at the moment!

Nice bar, went for the Pint of science talk. They only had crisps food wise. Quite steep steps to get in, don't know if there is a more accessible entrance somewhere else?

This place is a bit dark, the drinks are on the pricy side but the staff are lovely and very welcoming 😊

The Bootlegger Bar in downtown has a charming speakeasy vibe with cozy lighting and soft jazz. Their craft cocktails, like the Bootlegger Old Fashioned and Prohibition Punch, are exceptional. Delicious truffle fries and sliders complement the drinks perfectly. Every visit feels special, thanks to their attention to detail and inviting atmosphere.

What a hidden gem, loved the decoration, industrial meets your front room. Few leather suites available that are lovely. Staff were excellent very attentive, once we were finished with our cocktails they were immediately at the table asking if we would like another ... which of course we did. Huge range of cocktails, all freshly made and wow they are good. Definitely look out for happy hour, two cocktails for £16 and they are good cocktails so definitely worth the money. Stairs down to the bar so no access for wheel chairs. Toilets were very clean. Live Jazz music on the night was brilliant. Definitely worth a visit and a drink or ..three

It ok, nice place. Not enugh ale choise no real ale.so not for me. But dont let me put you off check it out your self.

The damp smell was overwhelming, staff seemed grump not something we would repeat!

This is a great cocktail bar without being snooty and pretentious. One thing they could improve is their stock of alcohol-free options.

Haven't tried their food, cocktails were refreshing, had their Bootlegger, and some others that can't remember, was drinking sorry, service took some time, other than that, was really good. Great singers and musicians will fill the place with joy, really recommend it! Hope to go back soon

Part of the top 3 bars in Exeter. Amazing cocktails which aren’t too pricey, amazing people and service, the atmosphere is phenomenal 👌 you really feel like back in time

Absolutely cracking venue and the drinks menu seemed to be well put together with a large choice of drinks so cannot fault them on this, I only had a pint of cola as I was on the bike My main criticism is that I personally found the noise level a real struggle as we were having to shout to hear ourselves over the 'musician' who was exceptionally loud. For myself I found the sound levels too much and plain stressful. But like I said it seems a great venue with a good selection of drinks though I possibly didn't see them I'd have liked a non-acholic drink

It was a first-time visit last night, and we are definitely planning to go back. An amazing amount of cocktails, as well mocktails. Friendly, helpful staff and a great atmosphere. The toilets were nice and clean (always a bonus!). Highly recommend. Verity was very helpful.

Fantastic night at the Bootlegger as usual. Great atmosphere with unique music. Niall is always a class guy and makes you feel welcome. Drinks are great, one of Exeter's best for cocktails.

Wicked little spot, staff are all very friendly, Niall in particular was lovely he went above and beyond to make you feel welcome/comfortable. Awesome music and great setting.

We came in at opening on Saturday, were greeted immediately and shown to a table. I believe he may have been the manager on duty at the time took care of us really well, helped with recommendations and provided table water without asking. All of the drinks were really well made and were delicious! I wish we got his name because he went the extra mile and took a group picture of us all without hesitation, so thank you for making our trip to Bootlegger special!

By far the best place to go for drinks in Exeter. I really can't recommend it enough. Really friendly staff who are very knowledgeable about their job. We can't wait to go back again!!
