Our Christmas Day meal 🎄 (not on Christmas day) The setting and food were spot on. Just the festive, cosy vibes we were after. It's a shame the service was appalling, from the moment we walked in the door. I'm not sure if they were short staffed (although it wasn't overly busy) or just had a few newbies working, but it definitely tainted our visit. Such a shame, as the Wellington really did live up to expectations 👌 The order: Scotch egg - £7 Scampi - £12 Stokes Marsh Beef Burger - £18 Beef Wellington with greens and truffle mash - £70 (serves two) 📅 Visited in December 2023

So sad that this amazing successful personal pub is closing in two weeks and being taken over by an investment capital firm and turned into a chain. Poor staff! :(
