Good atmosphere, great drinks, pool table and music

Love this pub. Alternative music, big selection of drinks and friendly staff. Situated opposite to the bus station in Lancaster. Big beer garden with roofed area.

We called in here just for a pint but stayed longer as the beer was kept so well. Farmyard Sheaf was excellent and all four of us enjoyed it. Service was excellent and they took the Camra card which made it a lot cheaper than other nearby Pubs. Would definitely cone back here when in the area.

Customers who come to this pub are not in a good mood! I've come all the way to Lancaster without a good impression, and if you don't want to ruin your good cheer, don't set foot in the door

Where to start, the punters are fine, absolutely no problem with them whatsoever , great people. However a certain staff (object with no description) and a certain other who manages the place.Well just be prepared for downright rudeness, regardless of the £100's of pounds spent over the years. I and my associates will never step foot in the place ever again and to be honest won't miss the establishment and certain rude individuals, whatsoever. There are much better places to frequent in the Lancaster area than this public house.

Great beers and atmosphere, good jukebox and pool table.

Very nice pub, however a certain bartender with a hat and blue hair was very rude and I felt like a outsider, she must have a chip on her shoulder about students, not a nice person as has to smile more, been called horrible things once. I love this place the beer tastes like angels however this one person ruins the experience

UPDATE - She has said plastic cups for spastics her name is Neve - I have been called a spastic by Neve unacceptable Unbelievable - pub great selection and atmosphere but there is one lady who is just so rude it almost ruins the experience. Not sure if her name but she has long blue hair and tattoos.

Great pub, great atmosphere. Regular live music (usually the rockier / punkier side of music), with good sized space both inside and out.

Great place for live rock gigs, and a lovely atmosphere. Parking is available on cable street..quite big too. It was just £2 after 6pm...

Another pub in Casta's 2023 CAMRA Good Beer Guide. A large open plan traditional pub. Pool table, darts and several TV's. Two slot machines. Music a bit too obtrusive for me and Casta. Good selection of four real ales. Casta took Lord Marples bitter from Thornbridge brewery. There is a back room with another pool table and beyond that an outdoor area.

I was out with a couple friends and we went to the beer garden and were having a nice chat with strangers (as you do) and some bald fella with a long beard very threateningly told us to leave because we were “barred by association” for simply talking to somebody that he had an argument with earlier. I don’t even know if he works there, but that’s not any way to treat customers who had nothing to do with whatever was causing him issues. Extremely unprofessional and immature of him. Ruined our Friday night

Probably the best cask ale bar in town. Service is so good - so is the continually changing choice of cask ale - Windy Pale is a mainstay, lots of small batch Hawkshead brews turn up here but the added bonus is when Lakes Pale is on 👌🏼.

A super spot for live music and the beer garden is well worth checking out!

Re-opened early in 2017 after extensive repairs after flooding the Bobbin is a high point of the local real ale scene. Go for good music and good beer.

A 'right' locals bar, a dying breed. Fantastic staff, cracking choice of beers. Although very much a locals bar, everyone is made to feel welcome. Worth a visit if exploring Lancaster.

Lovely place. Live music once in a while. A darts board and pool table to add to the fun. Clean hygiene facilities and affordable drinks too. Staff are friendly. I like the place. Probably my favorite pub in Lancaster.

My polecat and me had a lovely time in here with some lovely people and very unusual beer's that were very nice to try

This is one of those little gems in Lancaster. Bar staff and sound engineer are amazing. Great venue for a beer and gigs.

Great pub which a good range or beers to choose from at a reasonable price. Good group of people in there too along with their friendly and informative staff. Good to watch the sport too as they have plenty of tvs.

Great little pub at the bottom of town, plenty of choice of beers, ales and cider. With a rotating choice of local ales and beers. Highly recommend anyone visiting to pay it a visit

Avoid as there are better friendlier pubs in Lancaster. I understand the pandemic has been tough for all. This was probably our 6th pub of the evening and all apart from this one we received great service where the staff were friendly and welcoming. One particular female member of staff was sarcastic and basically rude to us. My friend is disabled and we were only asking genuine questions about what beer they had on offer as we could not go to the bar. Her reply "i only serve drinks i don't know anything about them" When she brought the drinks over I asked which was which as they were different. Her reply " If you can't remember what you ordered i won't be serving you anymore" Sorry but I don't like being spoken to like an idiot. I rarely leave negative reviews but felt this was justified. Up your game at the Bobbin or find staff that want to work there.

Peaceful and has open pool tables

First time at the Bobbin and was a really great experience. The staff have really got the new restrictions down, with social distancing, table service and taking details at the door. The staff were really working hard as it was busy, we spoke to three of them and they were all so friendly and professional despite how busy they were. There was a small wait to order drinks that we were warned about when we went in but they were very apologetic and after we ordered we had our drinks within a minute. There was a great selection of ciders on draft and a good atmosphere with rock music playing inside and a big beer garden. New to the area and we'll definitely be back.

Great music, great beers, and great patrons

Been going to the Bobbin for a little while now and have usually enjoyed my experience and normally have a pretty solid time. However yesterday I was given change out of a 20 of which the £10 was fake, of which I didn't know since it came from their till. Few moments after when I try to use this tenner they refused the sale and took the money off me. Whereas I don't mind the amount of money that I have lost the principal of a company giving me a fake note to refuse it to me, makes me feel like I have been robbed. Almost. Such a shame and if it wasn't for this then I'd be giving the bobbin 4 or 5 stars..

Enjoyed my 2 visits had good real ales from hawkshead and kirby lonsdale brewerys.

Quiet clean and cheap, definitely more of a grundge feel but the people are lovely and the chilled atmosphere is a welcome break from Lancasters more overflowing pubs

It smelt like a working man's club and had no lemonade or mixers. The atmosphere was dead wont be going there ever again
