Had a haddock bap and chips. This was lovely. I really enjoyed it

Went in here for something to eat as we had been on the ferry and you get 10% off food when you show them the purchased ticket. Friendly staff and very nice food.

Awesome, fresh fish. Staff are friendly. Sea view location is lovely. Decor and atmosphere could be better. But overall would definitely recommend.

We went for lunch over the bank holiday the boathouse was quite empty?? don't bother staff were okay the food was not the mussels were off batter on the fish was over cooked the chips were over cooked other customers were leaving there food we were very disappointed.

Ordered breakfast and considering there were not that many people in, it took far too long to arrive. My eggs benedict was OK except it was made with bacon, I was expecting ham (my fault for not reading the description but I've never had bacon in eggs benedict). The bacon was very thick, making the whole thing difficult to eat. Service was terrible. We had to ask for cutlery when our breakfasts arrived, and I had to go to the bar to ask for a glass for my husband's bottle of water. Only good thing was the location plus 10% discount because we had a ticket for a boat trip.

Lovely location and views spoiled by miserable, unhelpful bar staff. I didn't mind the expensive prices, I'm always happy to pay for a good spot by the water, but the overall experience was disappointing. Plenty of better options in the vicinity.

Lovely, food and service were great, so good went back the nect day. Will be visiting again.

The food is very good, and the staff are helpful and friendly. It's a really nice place to meet up with family or friends for a meal.

Not for me!! Pleasantly located on the Cattewater Harbour front. Looked inviting from the outside; inside a bit tired though. Signs of detritus from from previous diners on the floors. All a bit broken, cracked, chipped particularly in the loos; also a bit grubby. Service was less than enthusiastic, bordering on disengaged. Sadly the food was less than inspiring/palatable. Probably the worst seafood linguine I have had. Overpowered by a massive amount of, dare I say 'out of a container', not very appetizing, tomato sauce. No presentation to speak of, but did not really matter as I didn't eat much of it! 'Fish & chips' had the thickest batter I think I have seen on similar dishes that go by the same name. The saving grace was that it protected the actual fish from any serious harm!! A bit pricey for what it should have been, so not good value at all. I will not be going back and I would recommend giving this establishment a wide berth!

Took the dog, so sat outside and had s coffee. Friendly staff, nice coffee. Dj there too when we visited , very chilled.

We visited the Boathouse about 5 years ago and it was okay... this time, it was much better. Friendly staff, good food, good atmosphere... and a great place to watch the annual fireworks competition!

Lovely selection of food and the staff are all great and extremely helpful. We were an hour early and asked if there was any chance of eating immediately and they were more than accommodating. Will definitely be back.

Nice place but the staff is horrible. I’ve lost 15 to 20 min waiting for someone to come and take my order, nobody came, i went to the bar to place my order, waited 30 mins for my order. And guess what the chips from a corner fish and chips are better than what i get here

The food was over cooked, oily and just awful. The wait time was excessive. It is very over priced!!!!! The hostess seemed to take pleasure in turning away customers despite the place being less than a 1/4 full while we were there and we were there ages due to the excessive wait for food. The wait staff were aggressive as well.

The food was very bad, mushy and oily. I ordered a katsu chicken curry and the rice tasted like complete mush. My dad originally ordered a seafood linguine and it also came mushy with only one prawn! And they had the audacity to charge £22 for it. He then got it exchanged for scampi which was just as bad and looked lifeless. The prawns are already dead they don’t need to look it too. The atmosphere however was very good and had beautiful views. Our server on the other hand was very aggressive and rude. Overall very bad food and heavily overpriced.

Waited over an hour for food that came out cold and over salted. Even if it was edible it wouldn't have satisfied as portion size is small. Overpriced.

The food had no taste, and the seafood was fried using old oil, which made it unenjoyable. After reaching home, I experienced stomach cramping and nausea. The atmosphere was excellent, which is a positive aspect. However, it wasn't very busy, but the waiter still took a long time to serve me. Additionally, the meal was overpriced compared to the portion sizes.

Went for breakfast the restaurant had about 10 people in it ordered are food and drinks then sat there for 15 mins waiting for are drinks and 45 mins for the food very slow food was OK when we got it Apart from the snotty egg. Such a shame cause it's in a fantastic location.

Boathouse has a good location and atmosphere overlooking Plymouth harbor. The pan fried Sea Bass was delicious, but the prawns were bland compared to tasty ones we had in Portugal! Service could be better. For both reasons, I give it 4 out of 5 rating.

I been to Plymouth loads of times and only just come across this fantastic restaurant. The food was amazing fresh tasty food. The staff are wonderful it's a 100% must ⁰

Booked a table for my birthday a week ago and just got an email saying i have been binned becuase they got a larger booking! Tragic..

Good food selection but main dish was too salty, Crab sub was disappointed just a roll with mayo with poor crab filling. Food was not fresh. Staff was kind and place was overall clean.

5 of us went on fathers day, having booked in advance. 55 minutes before our cups of tea and coffee arrived , after asking why , they had no cups.what? they should have cups for every seating place in there. i know they were busy earlier but, it was half empty at that point... full english arrived just after, but no mushrooms or tomatoes, and they didnt tell us that until we mentioned it. apparently they had ran out. poor management, fathers day stock up for it. and the foods that did arrive were either warm or just cold. a fathers day experience ruined for us all. though the food was tasty but cold. management apologized and refunded us but it was to late. i wont be rushing back.

Restaurant in perfect location on waterside. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food fresh cooked and delicious. My wife said "best scampi for years'. Very satisfied and tipped accordingly. Went on river cruise feeling full.

Great food although toast wasn't very toasted. Think they were busier than usual as service slightly slower. Other than that lovely place and views and friendlystaff. Will be going again.

Stopped off here for a coffee whilst on a walk visiting Plymouth. The Boathouse has a lovely view of the marina and had an excellent menu of breakfast, brunch, lunch & dinner choices! If we had the time we would have definitely returned for some food. Staff were very friendly and attentive

Mediocre food that took ages to be served. The staff were very friendly and helpful but unfortunately we wont be returning. We felt it was very over priced as we only got a snack and it costs nearly £30.

Pretty much the most over priced burger I’ve ever ordered. Burnt, small and £25….. it was £25 coz I added prawns which came out cold….. chips were overcooked and solid! My daughters came out the same but we sent hers back! The wife had a wrap which she enjoyed so that’s why I gave it 2 star. In terms of service we ordered on the app and they never got the drinks orders so I had to go up to the bar and find out where the drinks were. It’s in a nice spot but really poor food for the money

Such a shame - excellently located but food is as bad as it gets. Lazy plates, staff had very little manners or any signs of professionalism. First time and our last sorry. Overpriced

Usually a great little restaurant. Ruined by a 50 minute wait for food that the chef hadn't even started making. He then doused it in enough salt to turn the Barbican into the Dead Sea. No real apologies on wait. Mushy Peas were okay.

Nice place. Staff pleasant but portions are very small. Spoilt the experience for our party. Waited an age for our coffees (again small) prices on website do not reflect menu prices. So overall very disappointing and will not be returning.

Had lunch here, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Really excellent seafood my wife started with the garlic king prawns, l had the scallop with black pudding. Both were really good especially as my scallops still had their roe sacks. For main we had monkfish fillets my wife’s with garlic butter mine with lemon butter and capers. Very generous portions and beautiful prepared by Tegan and Matt. The only downside is if you sit out on the veranda you are expected to order through an app. Fortunately because of my wife’s coeliac condition and dietary requirements the lovely Jess came and took our order at the table. All in all a really great place to eat with views across the harbour .

Sat here a day after our first visit, being taken care of by Marina, who is just as lovely as Sue was yesterday. The boathouse has the location. It has the food. It has the comforts. Any place like this could be successful due to footfall alone, but what brought us back (and will keep us coming back) is the staff. Their dedication to service seems to go beyond doing a good job. It seems to come more from their being ‘people’ persons. It’s the human touch which makes the difference here. Examples: the first sunny weekend of the year, and we wanted to enjoy corona in the bottle. Sue told us we would be allowed so long as we promised to return the bottles. No problem. We wanted lime wedges to put in the top but there were none… so Sue told us she’d get some and find us… which she did. Today, we explained that despite the pleasure of finally having bright sunshine, my partner’s vitiligo meant that we needed shade, which was instantly catered for. Marina genuinely seemed concerned and interested in how the sun can affect such conditions, and was extremely polite with her concerns. In all, yeah, you can get this kind of venue in any place you walk into along the riviera… but you won’t get personable staff like those at the boathouse anywhere else but The Boathouse. Thank you guys. We WILL see you again. X

Good local caught fish in a pleasant eatery. Generous portions.Good choices of food catering to all needs. But the seafood including fish is the star. Able to deal with small and large parties

Had beautiful brunch here several times. All the food came together and was fresh and hot. There was a mistake on the order which they rectified immediately without any fuss and were very apologetic, superb service! Reasonably priced for such a premium location, you can see all the boats coming in and out of Sutton Harbour.

This place was perfect- great view of the water and just paces away from the aquarium. Prices were fair, and the amount of food you get is generous- I got the mussels and couldn't believe how many were in there! The staff was nice and let us order from the lunch menu early. The Boathouse Plymouth is a must-see restaurant for great food and a great atmosphere! Here you can enjoy fresh seafood and dishes made with local ingredients. The lobster and fish and chips are especially delicious, so be sure to try them! The interior of the restaurant has a sea atmosphere, and the atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. Also, since it's close to the coast, you can enjoy your meal while looking out at the ocean from the window! Megan our server was amazing tonight, we came for a lovely meal, the food was delicious and Megan was exemplary, nothing was to much trouble, and she went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful evening. Highly recommend!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Boathouse in September 2023. George, the events manager, was so helpful throughout the whole planning process and on the day. The chef created a whole new menu for our vegan guests, which was absolutely perfect. The staff were wonderful, very friendly, and created a lovely atmosphere. We cannot recommend The Boathouse highly enough.

Office party. Buffet food was pretty tasty. Plenty of it. Hard to rate service as the staff were busy pouring drinks. No personal contact with staff. Atmosphere, probably a nice place to go for a meal. When not full of an Xmas party.

Perhaps it's that time of the year but it didn't have any atmosphere due to a lack of people 😂 The staff were helpful and friendly 😁 The food was incredibly average although not awful but two things we wanted on the menu were unavailable so prepare to be flexible!!! Very Overpriced but probably due to the view of the harbour which is great 👍

Wir wollten am Hafen in Plymouth Fisch oder Meeresfrüchte essen. Ich hatte Appetit auf ein Krabbensandwich. Wir fragten bei der netten Dame am Empfang, ob sie das hätte. Die Antwort war, ja, sogar ein großes Krabbenbaguette. Sowohl das als auch die Fischfinger mit Bohnen und Kartoffelspalten waren sehr lecker. Es war etwas kühl an diesem Oktobertag, so dass es etwas zog drinnen. Der Blick auf die Marina ist schön, das Innere des Gebäudes hat eher was von Bistro. Aber alles sehr sauber, nach jedem Kunden wurden die Tische desinfiziert. Also Ambiente okay, Personal sehr nett und zuvorkommend und das Essen sehr gut und durchaus preiswert. Wir können das Boathouse durchaus empfehlen.

Took 37 minutes for our food to come out. The £13 breakfast was 1 bit of toast, 2 sausages, a spoon of beans, 1 bit of black pudding and 2 boiled fatty bits of beacon. Or and some tomato’s. What a rip off!!! Nothing special except the view. I won’t go again

Came here today for lunch, with family that had come down to visit us. We were all impressed with the quality, portion size and taste of the food. I had sea bass which was cooked beautifully. My father in law had skate wing and said its the best he's ever eaten, we both had salad which again was so fresh. My husband had the linguine, he said it was really good and my mother in law prawns. The service was also brilliant, our waiter( Welsh guy) was super helpful and friendly. And my father in law had to tell the chef as we were leaving just how good his skate wing was! Keep doing this....so glad we came. 👌

Great location. Seating both inside and out. Great view of the harbour. Staff are friendly and helpful. It's primarily a fish restaurant - if you don't like fish don't go there, conversely if you like fish definitely pay a visit. Dogs and children are welcome. There are vegan alternatives

Lovely venue and great food. Megan H served us, she was very friendly and provided great service. I would definitely eat here again
