Never used the pub b4.. is typical locals bar.. Food was amazing... and staff very friendly.. Would return..

Absolutely amazing food as always and fabulous service from the staff. Really enjoyed my catch up with my auntie same place next time.

Broken toilets continuously no locks on toilets,not everyone's a sniff head

Lively local pub with a good selection of food. The staff are friendly, and the portions are plentiful. We had the sharing platter, good value, and honest pub grub.

I popped in on the off chance to see if I could order some food as a takeaway to take to my Dad as he is currently in hospital. All of the staff I talked to with were so lovely and helpful. The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly, while I sat in and had a drink waiting my order. I ordered the fish and chips and a chicken burger with chips, the food was well packaged, hot and delicious. My Dad was very happy 😃 Fantastic customer service and food. I would highly recommend this place to eat and will definitely be back. Thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very friendly place, staff and customers were all very nice and helpful, I am a mobility scooter user and found everybody very courteous and helpful also we had our little Cockapoo dog with us who loved all the attention and fussing he enjoyed the Sausages too 😀

Brilliant atmosphere, staff behind the bar are friendly, and will suggest cocktails that we may like. Staff are talkative which is nice. I didn't have food that's y I haven't rated it.

I have, along with the family been going there for the last couple of months for Sunday dinner. I have something different usually and have never been disappointed. The roast beef rib is a firm favourite amongst us. Always good portions and excellent value. Only had one issue and that was rectified immediately. The staff are excellent, very attentive and friendly, which makes the atmosphere in all the better. I really do not understand some of the ridiculous negative reviews on here. Looking forward to next visit.

We had our first roast dinner today... slow beef rib roast..was absolutely melt in the mouth... this definitely won't be our last...also the jug of cocktails accompanied the meal so well...wish we could have put a picture on here too...that will be on Facebook...staff were as always polite and lovely 😍 👌 well done...xx

Went for a few drinks with some friends and the whole experience was great. The 2-4-1 drinks deals were really good value. The staff were exceptionally accommodating and very friendly. I'd like to give Jayden a special mention. Exemplary customer service skills and an asset for sure to The Tamar.

The staff were great, however the food was awful and the atmosphere wasn't the best. People were vaping in the pub by the pool table, despite signs to the contrary. Again the staff were brilliant.

Came up with family and friends on the 20th may , had a fantastic time with food and drinks. Especially from Matt today made us feel really welcome always got our drinks ready xx

Great pub with brilliant staff who can't do enough for you. No other pubs where the manager takes time to go round to people to see how they are and make you feel welcome, a great help if you are ever feeling down. A real community pub xxxx

Waited 50 minutes for a steak and burger, the steak was char grilled, asked for rare.The onion rings were under cooked, the chicken wings were slimy. I had to chase up our meal, there was no apology for the wait, no one checked on us to make sure we were okay. Definitely will not be returning.

A nice friendly atmosphere with a great range of drinks, CAMRA friendly, as are the staff and locals, clean, tidy and safe.

I'm afraid to say what a absolute dirty place. The table was wet from previous customer drinks the menus covered in tomato sauce and to top it of the person who served me was serving customer/member of staff before me and was slagging down another member of staff and she was using the dead man's till. Nor very nice to hear whilst ordering food certainly won't be going back

To be clear, this meal was won by my husband, but the review would be the same if we had paid full price for the meal. The staff, as always, are friendly and helpful, without hovering over you while eating your meal. The Tamar was busy the evening we went, but the staff were still extremely attentive, and the food came out as you would expect when cooked fresh. The menu has had some changes made to it from our previous visit, so we chose some of the new dishes, and they were absolutely gorgeous. The only suggestion would be that the soft shell Taco starter could do with a bit more sauce and heat. The ribs, though, were outstanding, the best my husband has ever had. Thank you, Tamar, as always a lovely visit.

Was here before Argyle vs Leicester game, busy but had a table booked, people had occupied the table, staff moved them on. Excellent service. Food very tasty, exciting atmosphere, Argyles home game helped, Tamar managed really well with so many customers... 👌

Love coming in here. Only tried the food once fish and chips, hence 4 stars as the chips were a little underdone. Other than that, great friendly service, the vibe is always nice, also friendly, happy,no trouble..alot of seating, separate eating area, and pool table and darts available..

We had a family meal with a young participant. Our waitress was brilliant and very engaging. Couldn't help us enough and was very informative about the options on the menu. Friendly helpful staff and very accommodating to my dietary requirements. The wait for the food was average for this type of establishment. Food was above average and we left satisfied with happy young people.

I wouldn't recommend eating here. I've seen the standard of how they put their food together and it's not up to scratch. I'm surprised how they've managed to stay open from what I saw. My violations to good food practices. Have a drink by almeans but you take your life into your own hands eating here.

Always a warm and friendly atmosphere. Good menu selection and dog friendly. Rachel always makes the quiz fun and welcoming for everyone.

Went to the tamar for a family meal as a birthday celebration with a large party! Was well organised from start to finish, spoke to Laura at the beginning of the week who booked us in and handled the deposit and preorder! Arrived on the night table was ready, food came down in great time (no hungry angry kids yippeee) and didn’t have a single complaint regarding food! Meals were hot and great quality! Staff were so friendly & couldn’t do enough for us! Everybody had a great evening and we even got to use our blue light discount- can’t recommend enough! Thankyou!

Always a welcoming vibe coming off the pub with cheap food and reasonably priced drinks. I always have fun participating in the weekly pub quiz and the staff always make the extra effort to create a fun and welcoming environment.

Have only been to this establishment twice, on both occasions I've had a very pleasant experience. The food is good, the staff are helpful and efficient and I would recommend the Tamar to anyone.

Decent pub, good for watching sport and for groups but a fair bit expensive when compared to other pubs nearby.

Came here to watch a six nations game - there was a good atmosphere and the place was very busy. There was also a pool table and a dart board.

Hit and miss with entertainment more miss lately could do with more staff serving when busy

We had been working all day with out a break and went for food to it was OK but the portion was very small and there was no option of a large meal and I thought it was a bit expensive for the size of the meal

Food is always yum for the price. Always very loud though and they need to sort the black mould out....

Went to the Tamar had a good time, but have to comment on the dire state of the men's toilet. Floor always flooded, hate to think what happens below, being on first floor. But the damp and mould was a health hazard. The Tamar is a busy and successful pub it must make enough money to address these problems.

For a Friday afternoon it was busy, food came through quickly and was all eaten with enjoyment...4 year old grandson recommends the Macaroni Cheese and Garlic Bread...but not the salad and dressing lol. Will be back 😍 xx

I don't understand for the underrated reviews but this one of the best restaurant to have a meal, fun and get all great staff with lots of smiles serving you. I enjoyed their food every singe time. I hardly eat almost everyday in one pub previously. Now I'm at Tamar almost everyday with a lot all of dishes choices, great steaks at very reasonable price. I highly recommend Tamar for eat alone or with friends or family.

Enjoy visiting the Tamar, which is 1.5 miles from my home. Caters for all ages with quiz nights on Monday evenings, karaoke on Friday evenings, occasional live music and showing of big football and rugby matches. Serves good, reasonably priced food.

Amazing pub Brilliant food by far one of the best meals I’ve had And the staff are brilliant and go above and beyond not only for new comers like myself but also the regulars Your treated like family But a massive shout out to macy Who served me and my family She is a kind, friendly and just goes above and beyond for the customer No task was to hard for her While visiting I talked to some other members of staff too One I she’s called Mo and after talking and asking why people called her Rachel I understood that not long ago they raised money for a charity and she changed her name from Rachel her birth name to Mo and they do loads of fund raising for that chosen charity Definitely recommend going here

Decent pub, a little bit on the expensive side though for drinks. For that you would expect good facilities but the men's toilets are absolutely disgusting. Soaking wet floor from the urinals and deep mould covering the ceiling. If that's what they're happy for you to see, it makes you wonder what state the parts you can't see are like!

Feel very safe as a vulnerable person the staff treat you as if family nothings to much trouble to helping you very friendly punters made so many lovely caring friends from moment i 1st came in does get busy advisable to book , love it there . Doggies are allowed too x
