Rust & Royal in Plymouth

Nice place and friendly staff, the bathroom availability on the other hand is a joke, busy bank holiday weekend and then expect to spend half your time there queuing for the toilet

The guy behind the bar cleaned his shoe with the soda gun. Enough said

There are only two cubicles for the entire place. There’s always huge queues for the toilets, which are disgusting. The gents is just a sea of urine.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and a decent pint of Guinness, all at a great location.

Didn't try food but drinks and service were perfect. Sat outside with fabulous views. Highly recommend.

Amazing couple of hours sat in the outside seating area last Wednesday (5th June). Staff were super friendly and helpful, and gave us a demo when we asked for a specific drink. Perfect vibe and very well priced for what you get.

Popped in for lunch, the Mixed Platter is superb. The choice of cocktails 🍸 is also very good 👍

Mocha and fudge cake was banging.

Nice atmosphere and well lit tables. Good selections of drinks and the for all us ladies on night out, they have very well thought out and clean duo ladies toilet.

We hired Rust and Royal for a private function, their communication when booking was excellent. I could not have hoped for a better venue.

We have traveled from Yorkshire to visit family and popped in today for lunch, with 2 young children the guys at the Rust & Royal went out there way to cater for them, to add to the experience the food was lovely, will definitely visit again.

Good vibe, good beer and good food.

This place is lovely however tonight we had a disagreement with a waiter where he used a tone. We then proceeded to get kicked out, along it was a stressful situation this seemed very racial motivated.

Ollie is a really good waiter, his service was impeccable and his cocktails were just as good.

A little bit expensive, perhaps they are trying too hard and a bit pretentious. However, the drinks were good and the staff really friendly and talkative.

Barbican pub.. With beer.. And staff that could do with....

We had a cherry bakewell cocktail and melted chocolate brownie. It was exemplary! Would definitely go back!

Small but! Lovely friendly staff with an outdoor area in a prime spot! Beautiful scenery. Clean ablutions which is rare in such a busy bustling location. Sadly I did not eat there and it was just drinks so can't comment - friendly helpful staff make the world of difference these days.

Amazing experience dining there. They took care of me like I was one of their own. Tom in particular showed an exceptional level of service. This is the spot on the marina 👌

This place has a gorgeous bar — copper ceilings and very quaint feeling! I felt safe and that they really followed the social distancing and safety rules for covid.

Started an evening in Plymouth here recently. Good atmosphere and selection of drinks with an outdoor seating area which means you can be part of the Barbican night life.

Lovely setting for an evening. Ideal for a group of friends on the outdoor patio style sofas or for a date. There is a wide selection of shorts, in particular, gins.

Drinks are expensive and not that good. The view from here and the area is stunning.

Fab bar with wonderful atmosphere and decor - although a little on the pricey side. Cocktails very tasty.

Very nice little bar, I can see it getting crowded easy in poor weather but while it's nice the outdoor seating is available. Good service with friendly staff. Prices are as you'd expect down on the Barbican. Interior done really nice too.

Drinks where good still takes ages for cocktails to be made as been alot quicker elsewhere but staff friendly

Lovely interior and booze selection. Friendly bar staff. Only thing was it was early evening so the music was very loud. But such comfy seats and tasty booze. Will defo visit again.

Best place on the barbican for a drink with friends. Not the cheapest, but definitely the most enjoyable.

Nice venue, but pricey for drinks. OK for one drink before moving on.What I paid for around in here, I got two in the Navy pub.

Friendly staff and wonderful cocktails. Definitely my go to place to drink at the barbican. Have not tried the tapas that they have to offer yet. Rust and Royal Is always present as a clean venue even through busy times.

Nice place, good service at bar. Music too loud, asked for it to be turned down three times, just a little as couldn't hear each other talking, but was not. I am all for music 🎶 as well my ears suffered in the morning.

A bit underwhelmed but I imagine that younger, trendier folk might like it. When we visited the barman admitted that he didn't drink or much like gin. He then relied on customers to advice on mixers etc. With the prices charged maybe a bit of training wouldn't have gone amiss. Oh, and the ladies has an unusual set up....

More then what I expected for a 4* hotel! Lush room and nice bar

Five of us went in on Friday 1st. We have been here before and loved it. Great service as usual but the staff cranked up the music and we ended up almost screaming at each other to be heard. We asked for the music to be lowered a little but it was not. It was busy when we went in but when the music went up it emptied out to a dozen people which made it worse. Weatherspoons got our business for the next two hours.

Love the place, its a great location good selection of wines, cocktails and beers. Do a couple of choices of platters (meat, cheese or half and half) and some snacks. Staff are always professional and friendly. Only reason I've given 4 out of 5 is too many Gin choices (I hate Gin) and not enough Bourbon choice 😁

Came in for a rum and a whiskey for my friend. We asked what there was on offer. A very limited choice to start. The bar staff didn't seem eager to want to show what was on offer. I was asked if I wanted ice. So I said no Thank You. Was completely ignored and served Ice anyway. Then was blanked when trying to say things where wrong. For an establishment that states it wants to be sophisticated etc, it's very far off the mark. It's just black jacks with a facelift.
