Visited the Boathouse on our last night in Norfolk and we chose well for our farewell dinner. The weather was terrible so it was lovely to step inside the really tastefully decorated restaurant. The staff were lovely and friendly and gave us a warm welcome. My husband had the mussels which were delicious he had asked for a starter sized helping but he was given the full meal size so I had to help him to eat them. I had the cod it was enormous and also absolutely delicious, it came with Indian flavours and an onion bhaji absolutely gorgeous. We would highly recommend a visit there were so many tempting dishes to choose from. The lady on the next table had the homemade beef and ale pie it smelt amazing.

This place is located at a wonderful setting, right on the edge of a Norfolk Broad. The menu is plentiful, staff friendly and the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. We had lunch, really enjoying our food (Steak baguette and a Cajun chicken baguette). Our son loved the outside play area too, with his pizza as well. Prices are high, but the produce is excellent, so don't let this put you off. A little gem of a place.

My friends and I enjoyed a glorious evening out. The atmosphere was perfect, the right amount of noisy without being rowdy. It looked stunning as we drove down the drive. The inside had lots of character and a warmth feel. The food was flavoursome and we were impressed with the presentation. Wonderful experience and we all agreed it was a place we shall revisit.

We were recommended by serval friends/work colleagues, so we thought we would check it out for ourselves. Very impressed I must say! The staff were attentive and warming, great customer service often lacks nowadays. The surroundings were beautiful and there was a lively atmosphere. We went for the Sunday roast and I must say it’s definitely in my top 3 of Norfolk roasts. I will be recommending to others that haven’t been. Overall a lovely place to visit and we will be returning!

What an absolute treat. We had such a great experience right from the very first phonecall when we booked the table. Such a lovely chat, putting us at ease from the start. A stunning setting for an exquisite meal. My chicken supreme was mind-blowing. There was a different flavour in every mouthful and I know the other meals in our party of six were enjoyed just as much. We liked it so much we have booked to go again while we are on holiday this week!!

Had dinner at The Boathouse while staying at the hotel. We both found the food to be expensive but it definitely was worth it. Highly recommend the pulled pork and the hunters chicken, and their mango creme brûlée is to die for! It was rather busy which affected the wait for our food but even then, we were in and out within and hour and a half! Will be back for more!

Wow! What a stunning little gem of a place! Was there for our friends wedding so booked two nights in the family room (Paddle Away)! A lovely spotlessly clean room with all the quality bits and pieces you would expect from a high quality hotel. Breakfast the first morning was cooked to perfection with first class service and was enjoyed looking out over the grounds watching the different birds going about their business at the waters edge. Onto the wedding! Well I must say these guys are a professional team that don't leave anything to chance. I was assisting our friends (the bride and groom) making sure everything was in the right place for their special day and I must say Belinda and her team took care of everything and made things so much easy for me! Thank you for looking after us all!

We stayed in a room at The Boathouse, on one evening we stayed in for dinner. The food was very good, choice for gluten free was a little limited. Went to the Castle in Caister a couldn't even park, my wife is from Ormesby and we would go to the Eels Foot (now the Boathouse), so drove up the road to have Sunday lunch. It was crazy busy and a wedding was on. Loads of available parking, the line for the carvery looked long, asked if we could eat, was very hungry at this stage and so was the wife and kids. They found a table 4 chairs and seated us in two mins even though we had not booked. We had to clear the table in one hour so we did not pay to dessert (which looked amazing). The line only looks long because they leave a gap for the kitchen. Food was fantastic and I paid £44 for four meals and drinks. Me and the wife sat and digested our meals and the kids went to play on the outside climbing frames. Note this is by open water and my eldest daughter is able to look after her younger brother but it does ask you supervise child, which is a good idea. We even left the table 10 mins early. The setting on the broads is stunning. PS. the wedding look like great fun, shame i'm already married!

Manager fitted us in even though we didn't have a reservation for what looked like a packed Sunday lunch, we had to return the table by a certain time so didn't have a chance for dessert but the carver main course was very good. Chicken pie had plenty of meat and the vegetables were al dente, firm, not mushy as so often happens at carveries. Good range of sauces and vegetables to accompany options of meat or pies, and even a vegetarian pie. If the weather permits the waterside setting is lovely with terrific views across the water but on our visit it was too cool to sit outside.

First, the setting is attractive and the hired staff are friendly and to do their best. The Sunday lunch carvery is well prepared, and I would say a notch above your average Sunday carvery. So, why the poor review based on the fact that the food was actually quite good for what it is and the staff do their best? It really all comes down to basic manners and attitude to guests by the owner. Also, there seems to be a lack of control and systems to manage during the busy lunch carvery (That's why the "chaos" in my opinion). The restaurant suffers from poor configuration and set up for any type of carvery or buffet service. I see this as an owner/management issue and I will re-iterate that the staff do their best in this messy situation. Why do I care about this? Because it makes for a hectic experience and that is not really the point of a Sunday lunch in my opinion. Access to the bar and the line for the carvery are in conflict. You must either avoid people returning to their tables with their plates or other way around and avoid bumping into people carrying their drinks. And on top of that, watch out for the service door at the beginning of the carvery. Following on from this messy scenario, our table decided to have some coffee after dessert. You must order this at the busy bar and then also wait at the bar to carry it back to your table with no information about your order or which tray is yours. In summary, it was not found to be a relaxing experience and I do not expect to be spoken to rudely by the owner about our time being up and it was time to leave. It could have been handled in so many different better ways. So, not recommended if you are looking for a comfortable and peaceful Sunday lunch.

Birthday family meal on Sunday. I pre-booked this birthday meal a almost a month in advance and requested a table by the window and wasn’t impressed to be put in the back room where it was noisy and too hot . With three of us Vegetarian we ordered the vegetable pie, which was awful. The queue to the carvery is ridiculously sited across the kitchen door making it difficult for staff and customers alike. The whole meal was chaotic and thoroughly unenjoyable made worse by being over charged for the children’s ice cream which fortunately we spotted before leaving the restaurant. My advice, do not go there for Sunday lunch !!

Our son was home from New York and we wanted to take him to what we thought would be a good restaurant in a attractive location for lunch - big mistake ! Surprisingly, there were only six tables occupied, inside and out, so we easily found a seat and my husband ordered our food at the bar. He emphasised that all three of us just wanted a light meal ie. fish cakes for two of us, chips and a salad to share and a Ploughmanshe brought it, he slammed it down on our son. Naturally we thought it would all come together but this was not the case. After half-an-hour, our fish cakes arrived but nothing else. We decided to eat the crab cakes as they were getting cold and then there we sat, our son still waiting for his meal and our side orders. Another quarter-of-an-hour went by and still nothing so we managed to get the attention of the waitress to see what the delay was. She summoned the manager/owner whose attitude was unbelievable ! He’d said we’d ordered starters and that was why they came separately, even though we made it clear that we were all eating together and there was no word of apology. By now, we no longer wanted our side orders and our son had lost interest, having waited so long - we thought it was an hour but were firmly corrected and told it was only 49 Minutes!! We were very ungraciously offered a refund and when he returned with it, he slammed it down on the table and stalked off. It is the worst service/attitude w have ever experienced anywhere in the world and we are global travellers. WE WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.

Beautiful location, ample parking, large restaurant but many tables empty although some people came when we were there and were told it was full so don't assume you will get food unless you have booked ahead! Good selection of food butthe food was average, my duck was over cooked and tough, the gratin dauphinois tasteless and dry, not enough garlic and not enough cream. Booked a surprise meal out for my wife on 20th July, when we arrived we were told that we did not have a booking, "very embarrassing",after I showed them there phone no on my phone with the time that I phoned the manager came over and apologised and said that he could find us a table but we would have to finish our meal within 90 minutes as he needed the table for another booking, the whole time we were seated we were constantly looking at the time and did not feel relaxed, to make matters worse the waitresses seemed to be hovering around just waiting to clear our plates away after each course, in fact we were still chewing our food as the plates disappeared.I cannot fault the food but having enough time to enjoy it would have been good. The table we were sat at was one of only about 4 or 5 tables for two people and our table was right in the centre of the restaurant with people constantly squeezing past us, not ideal when you want a relaxing meal.

Turned up without a booking. Was told all tables in the restaurant were booked. Went outside and saw that people were being served food and there were lots of free tables by the waterside. As it was a lovely warm evening we asked to sit outside and were then told "it's not a question of having a free table. It's more a limit on the numbers that the kitchen can cope with!". Frankly given that a large part of the menu is burgers of some sort then that seems a pretty limp excuse and perhaps they need to relook at their business model and attitude of the staff. Anyway their loss was the gain of another local establishment where we had a great meal and were warmly welcomed.

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting friends in the area. Our room, Cheeky Teak (1) was well furnished, of medium size with a very comfortable bed. It overlooked fields rather than the Broad. The bathroom had two shower heads over the bath and the suite was modern. The outstanding room feature was that it had air conditioning - just great for our current heatwave. As we arrived on a Sunday we had the carvery which was very good. Michael and all the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was also good with a wide choice of both hot and cold dishes, cooked to order. We visited this restaurant at lunch time today (half term week). We had booked a table for 8 (5 of us were children). The restaurant was full and there were only two waitresses working. There was also a wedding. We waited 5 mins to be seated and then another 15 mins before we were given a menu or offfered any drinks. We then waited over an hour for our main courses. None of the staff kept us up to date with the progress of our order until we asked. When the food finally came, two of the meals were incorrect. One had chips instead of sweet potato fries and the other came with beans when it was supposed to be just burger and chips. The whole meal was very stretched out. We were in the restaurant 2 hrs 15 mins (not easy with 5 children) for just a main course and one drink (we weren’t offered anymore drinks)At the end of the meal we were asked if everything had been ok, when we said the service was slow the waitress said ‘this is what happens with a big order sometimes’ and ‘they should have pre-empted the fact that it was half term and put more staff on’. I felt that both of these ‘excuses’ were unacceptable and we weren’t offered any compensation for our poor experience.

After enjoying a wonderful afternoon here at the beginning of May, we decided to make a return visit and were not disappointed! Such a beautiful setting with plenty of outdoor seating overlooking Eels Foot Broad, I believe. Again some of our party had the carvery which has to be the best in the area! The beef was succulent and a good selection of veg, my favourite being the spiced red cabbage. The stuffing balls are tasty sausage meat, which is such an improvement on the dry, ‘sawdust’ balls on other carveries! The others had the beautifully cooked fish and chips, so fresh and a decent sized portion. Although we ate just before the carvery closed at 6, the food was still very fresh and plentiful. We can highly recommend the Boathouse for cheerful service, wonderful food and a setting to die for!

What a beautiful setting and the food was good although not special. We had booked a table with a view of the Broad. When we got there asked to wait 10 minutes past our booked time for previous party to leave. Not an issue as we enjoyed a pre dinner drink. However as soon as the diners left someone else just sat down at our table. When we protested to the manager who was very flustered he said they could ask them to move but would we like another table with a better view that was free in 5 minutes. So we agreed and as soon as it became free we went over to the table only to be challenged by another member of staff saying they had promised this to other guests. However we insisted we were not moving. So we had to sit down to a dirty table or loose it! Eventually it was cleaned and we waited to order for 15 minutes only to find we should have gone to the bar to put our order in! We had to ask for cutlery which had napkins welded around them and were in shreds before we could get them off. Then we had to wait nearly 30 minutes for our food to arrive and pretty much the same for deserts. So the place was lovely and the staff pleasant but what a dissorganised scramble! Probably won't book again. Shame really

We wanted an hour for our food and it was disgusting! My friend returned her prawns in tempura as they were cooked in fish batter and my skate wing was greasy, peas were like bullets and the carrots were clearly frozen and not fresh. We eat here regularly as a family mainly on Sundays for a carvery. It’s obviously set in an amazing location on Rollesby Broad with plenty of space for the beer garden and children’s play area. We’ve always had a good meal with decent service, never had a problem. We’ve never felt rushed to leave table which is great having a two year old. The carvery is good value for money and has a really good quality selection of all the vegetables I’d personally like to see, especially cauliflower with cheese, parsnips, red cabbage and meat sage and onion stuffing. Which in my opinion rates this carvery well above The Castle in Caister and Toby’s carvery in town. All the bar and different restaurant areas look fantastic with lovely finishing touches too. Overall it’s definitely worth a regular visit as a local or a tourist visiting the area.

Recommended by the owner of the self-catering accommodation we were in. During the summer it must be popular due to the waterside location, a jetty with boat trips. A modern extension adds to the size of the dining area but remains comfortable, light and airy. Good selection of traditional ales of which tonight's find was from the Humpty Dumpy brewery in Reedham. The menu was tight but varied, I very much enjoyed the baby back ribs (with extra sauce) and the prawn marie salad "hit the spot" according to the better half! Plenty of parking available and accommodation as well.

We were told at time of booking that they would be busy as there was a large party in, but we were assured of a window table for 6 so we booked. On arrival it was indeed busy and upon going to the bar there was no record of our booking and was told that there would be no tables available for a least an hour, there was little in the way of an apology offered so we left disappointed. Being a Saturday night it was quite difficult to find somewhere free at short notice. We did eventually find a restaurant a further 8 miles away. I was less than impressed with how it was handled so will not be visiting again. Shame as it’s not far from us. We found this place by accident last year when a Norfolk artist was holding an exhibition here... we didn't buy any of his work, but we did discover that the Boathouse is dog-friendly, and has a super lunch menu. And it sits on the quietest Broads waterfront you could hope for. Then we came back as a party of four for a Christmas meal, and just a few days ago we were returning from a disappointing trip elsewhere when we remembered: 'this road takes us past the Boathouse!' And again, we and dog got a friendly welcome and a nice lunch. The only improvement I would like would be if there were some way to take a waterside walk... but if there is, I've missed it. This is on our list of 'good places to take people for lunch'.

Attended a birthday party and decided to stay overnight. Beautiful place in idyllic surroundings. The food was superb and very plentiful. Room was spotless and extremely comfortable. Breakfast menu is comprehensive and far from run of the mill. We were made most welcome and will certainly be going back. Very good value for money all round. Thank you to everyone.

We were a group of 10 and stayed for a couple of nights over New Years in a lodge and family room. Price was very reasonable given the time of year. Both the room and lodge were modern and clean and the venue were very attentive to get us anything extra we required. We also went for carvery on New Year's Eve with additional friends. The food was lovely and excellent price. We had a wonderful time in a beautiful setting. Would recommend.

Having eaten here previously, we decided to book for Christmas lunch. It exceeded our expectations. From the guy managing the car park, to the efficiency and friendliness of the bar and waiting staff, to the fabulous food and service, it was wonderful. The organisation of the whole experience was amazing. We are still talking about it today! It was so good we will book christmas lunch for 2018 and also continue to eat here throughout the whole year. Well done everyone!

Visited here with family for Christmas Eve and enjoyed the food however , a little overpriced even for the NON Christmas food . Starters and mains were very tasty as I had cambert cheese for starters and ham eggs and chips for main and sticky toffee pudding for desert however, all of family who had the 'cheesecake' really despised it, they said it was horrible. I then tried this for myself and agreed with them! But apart from that nice decor and restaurant

My family and I went for Christmas lunch today. Having been last year we expected to have a lovely time. Unfortunately it was not the same experience, the staff were very good and the food when we got it was very good . But they obviously tried to accommodate too many people and it was a disaster we stood inline to get our food for a long time as 2 queues were trying to get to one carvery area which spoiled the experience. Would not return due to this.

Dinner was excellent in the bar area. Tempura prawns with homemade dipping sauce, beautifully cooked duck breast in jus with celeriac puree and rosti followed by lemon sorbet. Really enjoyed our meal and one friend was pleased to find they had a separate menu for gluten free meal. We were group of happy diners enjoying pre Christmas get together. Excellent service. Loved the unique Christmas tree made from forged iron with corkscrew at top and hung with hundred empty wine bottles. All in all lovely experience but we were a bit cold as other customers kept leaving the outside door open and no fire in the grate which would have been welcoming on a very cold December night.

Visited last Christmas and again this year for a Coeliac group meal (50 odd people) which was absolutely excellent - beautiful food, superbly served. We had booked to stay the night again this year and as before the room was spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed a light snack in the bar in the evening - very busy but pleasant. Breakfast the next morning was again excellent, served speedily and completely gluten free and safe for me as a Coeliac as well as being good value. The sunset over the broad was beautiful to see. It is a very lovely place.

1st visit as had heard mixed reviews and we decided to go for Sunday lunch with friends at about 3pm. On Sunday they only do a a carvery, not sure if they do anything other if you don't eat meat. Sometimes if you leave it till later in the day the meat and vegtables have started to dry out but we never went to get the carvery until about 3:30 and it all looked fresh as if it had just been put out. The meats were beef, pork and turkey and you had seperate containers for stuffing, crackling and pigs-in-blankets. Great choice of vegtables. If you didn't want meat from the carvery they even had pies you could select, think it was chicken and leek. The price of the Carvery is very good at £9.95 and I think dessert is £6.95 although we didn't need a dessert. The building itself is very nice looking building in a great location.

We were staying in the area and although having to travel to find somewhere to eat can be a pain we were glad to find this place on a recommendation from our B & B. It looks like it could be lovely in the summer-we were there on a dark November evening. The interior has been decorated to a high standard and again as it was off season it was very quiet so we had good service-though having to go up and down to the bar to order on such a quiet night seemed silly. Food was fine-typical pub grub really, not cheap, but fine not adventurous so that's why we couldn't say it was excellent.

Went to this place near the end of our holiday staying at Ingham along with two friends. Must say we found the place to be very nice with an expansive menu. We had booked and attentive staff took us to our table, drinks were ordered and the food order given. All staff were smartly dressed and the table thoroughly clean. Not always the case in these types of establishments. Three of us went for the pan fried sea bass which was very well presented with all the trimmings as per the menu. Our third member of the party had scampi and again well presented. For afters two scoops of ice cream. All in all an excellent meal and we were not hurried in any way. Well worth another visit next year.

We took our friends to the Boathouse in August for lunch and we really enjoyed it. The Pub is right on the water so has a very pretty location. While we were there, they had a wedding in the special wedding venue and the bride and bridesmaids arrived by boat from the Waterside which is their other restaurant which is also very good. Very romantic and charming altogether. We booked ahead and asked for a table near the window(the weather was a bit unsettled for outside which would be lovely on a sunny day). We went at 12.30 when it was not so busy, 1.00 was definitely busier but not too crowded considering it was August. There was a varied menu with plenty of choice. We had delicious food, served promptly and I had a children's meal because it was more suited to my dietary requirements which did not seem to bother them. The bill was very reasonable. Lots to do in the area, Hickling Broad and Horsey Wind Pump and beach are highly recommended.

Husbands birthday and grandsons treat, very lucky to have secured a table as fully booked, but as happens just as we were leaving to go two family members turned up, we decided to go for a drink anyway as the location and setting is so appealing with the broads and views, we did phone ahead and were told two more could not be accommodated, however once there we spoke to a very pleasant waitress who after about five minutes found us a table where we with a little squash and push we were all comfortably seated. A good choice of carvery, pie, fish or vegetarian and spoilt for choice with vegetables, the venue inside is very modern , lots of seating areas and exposed brickwork add to the charm . Very clean and tables cleared and wiped quickly. It appeared to be an area where where families with small children and babies were all together but I do not think this is necessarily the norm. One or two elderly dining who had mobility scooters no problem. Friendly smart chef and staff. Venue is perfect for a wedding.

Stayed in the Captain's Cabin on a Saturday. Room quirky and gorgeous. Very comfy. Good quality toiletries and tea tray very well stocked with everything you could want. Pub/restaurant olde worldy but not tacky. Very relaxing and cosy. Lovely place all over. Lunch was very well presented, generous and delicious. Prawn cocktail for me and soup of the day for hubby. Booked for dinner. You must as its packed. Dinner itself was pork belly for me which was scrummy. Mash was perfect. Hubby had sea bass which was spoilt by the sauce. Overly thin and just tasted vaguely of fish. Service was confused. Had to point out our booking myself in the book 3 times before the girl agreed we had booked. Dinner plates also not cleared before dessert arrived. Breakfast in the morning took over 45 mins to come out even though there was only one other table occupied so it wasn't busy. Tasty but overpriced for what it was, whereas we thought lunch and dinner were worth the price charged. Lovely place would definitly stay here again. Would've given it 5 if not for the service issues. Room rate fab for the standard of accommodation.

The Boathouse never disappoints! It was the planned finale of our week in Norfolk and Friday's weather really complimented the ambiance and atmosphere sitting outside overlooking the Broads. As with our earlier visits we had the 8oz burger with cheese and bacon. As always, the best burger I have had. The bun had changed but this only improved it as it held the contents brilliantly. Thank you for providing the grand finale to our week once again! See you next year!

I previously visited the Boathouse back in 2014 after it had first opened and thought it was poor. I visited it again on Sunday the 27th with my mother-in-law for Sunday roast on the recommendation of a Hotel owner from Great Yarmouth. I am not a lover of Sunday roast beef that you could sole shoes with vegetables that have been boiled to oblivion you know what I mean. This was a difference experience to 2014 friendly welcome on arrival, shown to our seats, great choice of drinks. The food was excellent beef that was moist slightly pink and melt in your mouth, pork that was moist and just perfectly cooked, All the vegetables that I had were perfectly cooked slightly crispy and lovely roast potatoes and parsnips. This experience has changed my opinion of a Sunday roast it was excellent. This is a lovely setting and I will be back thanks Jason for the recommendation do yourselves a favour and give this a try.On a closing note just a general observation why is it that some people when they go to buffet style restaurant feel like they have to pile their plates until they overflow and quaff food like it is a new experience, as I said just an observation!!

My niece and I booked for dinner and expected to have a table in restaurant, we were given a table in bar ordering and paying in advance, my niece was subsequently accused of not paying or having had the meal twice as the till showed an outstanding amount. After producing the receipt there was no apology just further rudeness. Our evening was completely ruined by the staff. When we arrived we were told that the table would be required in 1 3/4 hours. As the service was very slow this meant we were expected to eat up and vacate. We had come out for a relaxing g evening but finished up being really upset. My niece has been several times for lunch and recommend to many friends, as an outcome we are both resolved never to return.

My wife and I met friends at The Boathouse for an evening meal on Thursday 6th whilst holidaying nearby and had a mixed bag of an evening. The location overlooking the lake is lovely and the table we was seated overlooking was very good in a large long bar with a good ambience. We started with Tempura Battered King Prawns with spiced giant couscous, chilli and coriander dressing £6.95 (very good) and the Honey and Thyme Glazed Camembert with plum and chutney and toasted focaccia £5.95(good..but perhaps with something spicy to accompany). To follow Grilled Chicken with Cajun Spiced Salad £12.95 (very nice), Hunters Chicken with wedges £12.95 (very good), Scampi, chunky chips, peas and tartar sauce £10.95 (good) and for my wife (now it starts) she ordered starter meal for mains of Smoked Haddock Fishcake with poached egg £6.95....having served our meals they apologise to my wife that they have dropped the egg and will be in a minute so we carry on with our meals...a further five minutes they apologise again and it will not be a minute to when they do serve her we are nearly finishing. To accompany our meals we had a bottle of house Rose £14.95 and pints of San Miguel £3.80. After our mains we decided on us gents having espresso coffee and the ladies a Mango sorbet and ice cream...again us gents are served our coffees and after ten minutes the ladies are still waiting....I go to the bar and ask one of the waitresses where is the desserts and she looks at me with a blank expression...I said just cancel them please and can I have the bill....there is no service charge..good job..but nothing deducted either for offering the bad service to my wife.

I was a guest at a wedding so my review is based on one day only. The Boathouse is beautifully situated on the Broads and a very popular venue. I found it to be elegant, and well designed. There were plenty of places to sit outside and watch the wild life. The food was excellent and well served, but as I said this was a wedding and in a slightly different area to the main restaurant. We are not local to the area & asked where we could eat by some water. The Boat House sits in a Broad & is in a lovely setting. The decor is very nice. & the menu looks good. Looking for somewhere new to try and after reading the reviews of the The Boathouse at Ormsby St Margaret five of us decided to have lunch there. The reviews were certainly correct as we all had very tasty meals. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. It is set in a picturesque spot and our table had views of the broad where outside seating was provided. Unfortunately it was an awful day, very windy and heavy rain, but we will return and we are sure the weather will be kinder next time and we can take advantage of the lovely view. One thing to add, among the various sachets on offer a small pair of children's scissors were also in the basket. What a brilliant idea, I'm sure most of us have spent frustrating times trying to open the sachets - problem solved.

We called in on the off chance without booking at 6.30 to be told the was one table for 2 left as all other tables were pre booked. My wife ordered a cheese burger and i decided on the bbq pulled pork burger. Both arrived in good time with a nice presentaion although on a slate which is maybe in our opinion now a bit old hat. Both meals were very tasty but the pulled pork burger was slightly misleading as there is actually no burger just bbq pulled pork, which was very tasty and plenty of it but i was a bit disapointed no burger as the menu states (maybe my interpretation was wrong). Overall we both enjoyed our meals and would return but will examine the menu a bit closer.

This is the perfect venue for a wedding. Everything is perfectly placed - from the bar to the ceremony area to the dining area/disco room and the decking overlooking a private broad. Nothing it seemed was too much trouble. My niece arrived by boat to the ceremony (the children were given a cruise after). The ceremony was the shortest i have ever been to (not a bad thing!)! This was followed drinks - pimms, budwieser or orange juice. On to the meal.....everything was lovely, and all the waiters/waitresses were lovely. we had a tomato-based soup, roast chicken dinner and chocolate brownie. the evening reception was just as lovely. The buffet was burgers and hotdogs which i heard were very tasty ( i was too full from dinner!). If I had to complain about something it would be the number of insect bites i came away with....but this is beyond anyone's control so I advise anyone coming here to bring insect repellent!! But to anyone reading this - DO PAY A VISIT HERE IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! (they also do a carvery in the bar next to the venue!)

We had started to make this a regular meal stop. But on two recent trips when specific tables were prebooked, which enabled wheelchair accomodation on one occasion and second time although a reserved sign on table, staff had allowed a four table to be taken by a couple! Staff apologised and we were compensated but this has sadly let us down and spoilt two special occasions. I feel although food and setting are brilliant , the customer care needs seriously addressing .

A party of seven of us visited the restaurant for the first time over Easter. It was a lovely day and, being Easter, it was very busy. We had a reservation but, no doubt because it was busy, our table wasn't quite ready. We waited just a few minutes after our reservation time so that wasn't a problem. Even so, the host was very apologetic. Each diner wanted something different: some wanted starters, others didn't; some wanted to change their order, others wanted a smaller portion etc. etc. You get the picture. A lot of places wouldn't have been so accommodating on one of the busiest days of the year but the host didn't bat an eyelid. When the food arrived, surprisingly promptly bearing in mind how busy the restaurant was, it was beautifully presented. Nobody was disappointed with their food and everyone commented that it was delicious. It was basic, standard food - the kind of food that most people want in a place like this. However, the Boathouse was different - it was beautifully cooked to perfection and was very tasty. The Boathouse is situated on the edge of Ormesby Broad, so it is a lovely setting. Some people were eating outside but, although it was sunny, it was a little too chilly for some of our party so we ate inside. All in all, I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. The food alone would make me return but the service was exemplary: quick, friendly and efficient.

I’ve known and been to this dynamic and friendly cafe on and off over the last 10 years or so. Whenever I’m in town, I’ll always make a beeline for the Hamburger, always enjoy the great food and drink, and all the friendly and hardworking staff, a special mention particularly to Shirley, Rachael, Claire, Kelsie, Lilly for always providing service with a smile. Now back home, I feel sad to have said goodbye for another year, and only hope that we will keep in touch, and vice versa. The atmosphere, the food, drink, service etc., is exceptional and top class! If you love American food, e.g. beef burgers, breakfasts, ice creams, other meals, I’d fully recommend that anyone reading this should make this your first priority.

The Fig is a lovely and lively venue for a family get together and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I don't think you have caught up for food g for vegetarians yet which is a real shame. Compare the meat brekkie to veggie brekkie. You need to offer more such as veggie sausage and bacon. It's very unbalanced and does not really cater that well for vegetarians let alone vegans. On a positive your prices are amazing.
