Ordered through app only received half the order so phoned was told they would send out the rest of the food. An hour and a half later still no delivery was told they did re delivery I have a ring door bell so can see no 1 came to door. When I said this I was still called a liar and was hung up on. Staff are rude and very poor customer service

Food ok, didn't like the atmosphere, they .ade me feel very unwelcome, especially the woman, she told me SIT DOWN, ,I'm a 51 Yr old woman, no one tells me to sit down lol, but she doesn't make you feel welcome, and you wait 1hour for a fish supper. Or more and that was 2 or 3 people waiting for same thing and then a sausage supper was for 1 other person

Found this place in passing and so glad I stopped. Food was amazing. Kurma hoagie was something new and loved it. Pizza was fantastic with a lovely base and toppings just right. The staff were brilliant and very friendly and patient (because the menu is huge and took a while to decide). If you're ever in Dundee this place is well worth a visit.

No chilli sauce ..only 4 small bits in my mixed kebab costing 5.95 nan like eating a blob of dough

Just been here for lamb pathia and keema garlic naan. OMG they're havin a laff! The naan bread looked luminous and I couldn't see any keema inside. The pathia was a deep red in colour and tasted a bit strange. Rang them back and told them then took it back down because sorry I have NEVER come across anything lookin and tasting like this. Just tried the lamb, fatty and overcooked. Lol when I told them I was English and could make better they started gettin stroppy 🤣 Truth must hurt. NEVER will I go here again, and believe me, go at your own risk!

Have ordered food from here many times before, always served by a man named Bilaal who is really kind and friendly. The food there is delicious aswell for both lunch and dinner. I am going to go again tomorrow for lunch. 😃😁

Omelette absolutely rank. Awful went in the bin. Chips overcooked by a mile. Never been bad from here however called. Man was rude. Will not use again

Had a chicken madras takeaway. Was a taste less transparent stew.. other food might be OK in there but stay well clear of the curry!

Terrible Ordered two fish and chips and a single fish, waited 20 minutes for them (cooked fresh) took them home to eat, the fish was sooooo dry and one had at least five small hairs (looked like eyebrow/eyelash hairs or dog hair) also found some bones in the fish too which is never preferable. Chips were okay but oil obviously was not clean. Overall very disappointing and won’t return.

Ordered food from here at 5.25 pm wasn’t delivered until 8.54 this was after me calling several times

Just ordered food from here! Absolutely vile. Everything came stone cold. Tried to phone the shop no answer, everything was also wrong. Asked for a portion of onion rings which were 10 got 3 same as fritters ment to be 6 got 2, ridiculous! Tango ice blast wasn’t an ice blast, knock of. Never again

My son went in whilst I waited outside the window with our dog. He was initially ignored and then when he did give his order to one of the men, the man answered the phone in the middle of it and totally disregarded my son. The place is in need of a bloody good clean too. Went to Marini's instead, friendly folk and good service. 👌

*edit* I tried Hyderabadi tikka kurma tonight and Im blown away. So much so I've returned to edit my review as I only tried a pizza previously The choice of curries is excellent and the in store menu gives you a nice breakdown of what is within if you're unsure. Try the Hyderabadi tikka kurma!

Just had a lovely fish supper, I’ve never had a bad one yet. Calzones are lovely too, we get two meals out of one.

This is the first time the BF and I have gone to The Blue Grotto for food. We were not disappointed! Tonight's feast is a single jumbo fish, single steak pie, fritters, mushy peas, a roll, 5 onions rings and a deep fried mars bar. Oh ya flippity flop!!!! All in, everything was just over £11. Everything was really tasty and all freshly cooked. We would definately come here again for food. Maybe try out the pizzas next time.

Have order a few time from here. Always a good consistent service. Food is great, full of flavour, good size portions. Delivery service,good friendly driver, food always arrives hot. Will definitely be ordering more from here.

Went in on a weekday night around half past 7. Despite their only being one other customer there, also getting a small simple order, had to wait 5 minutes to be served. Staff were all just standing around talking. I was getting a simple a white pudding supper, but took another 10 minutes at least. Not exactly cheap pricing either. Chips were either rock hard little halfs, or oily squashy undercooked mess. White pudding was worse, soggy and tasteless with burnt and dry ends. This chippyhas gone right down hill. Will not be back, especially since there are amazing chippys like the bridge just down the road.

New to the area so thought I would try this chipper, big mistake! Had to wait for chips to fry, so by the time they were ready, my sad little rubbery fish was chewy and inedible. Oh well I thought, at least the chips will be good. Nah, 70% of them were hard, crispy pieces of shrapnel. Won't be going back again!

Ordered two fish and chips by phone. One for me, one for my brother...OH MY GOD! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. I very rarely finish the chips, they're usually cold and taste awful but these ones were fantastic and I can't believe I ate them all. Will definitely be going back here. Frankies and the one next to Coldside Library will definitely not be getting our custom. Thanks so much Blue Grotto.

My go to for a fish supper in Dundee. Big portions and fish batter is nice and crispy. All for a reasonable price. They also offer a halal option too. Highly recommended.

We usually enjoy food from the Blue Grotto and their curry snack boxes are amazing however we thought we would have a chippie tea. My wife had a single fish and I had a white pudding supper, food arrived late and was barely warm. Chips were obviously not fresh and were hard. Terrible, should not have to microwave your chippy but we had to ding it so it was edible......not impressed and won't be back for a while.

Found this place just over a year ago. Have had from both sides of shop, curries, pizzas and chip shop. Food has always been fresh, hot and very tasty. My partners favourite is chicken tikka homestyle bhuna pizza. He says it's amazing!! Service is fantastic, food is ready for collection on time and staff couldn't be more helpful. We have recommended this place to many of our friends.

Made the mistake of going in during school lunchtime. Well staffed with three guys in attendance but they were running a limited menu at lunchtime (chips with cheese, donner, or curry sauce), no staff were wearing masks, and five or more school kids piled in, none wearing masks. The dish of choice - chips and curry sauce was fine enough for £2.50 but I won't be back. Shame, this place was an institution in the 80's and 90's!

Food did take ages for food to come, when it got her it was someone else's order so called after waiting was told the driver will come with ours by then the kids had the pizza that had came as you couldn't give it to the correct customer, he drops our food off and then came back for the pizza, that actually should have been going in the bin and we spent a fare bit on our foods,

Rediculously slow service with solom fryer. Never looked up and never made eye contacts. Horrendous customer service. Blonde helper a total delight but struggling against total apathy from fryer. Over priced, disgustingly greasy. Could not eat mine after one bite and binned it. My parter did eat his and was up during the night wil shots of gaviscon for his stomach. D Do NOT BUY FROM HERE, ABYSMAL.

Absolutely awful. My food still hasn't been delivered and it was supposed to arrive over an hour and a half ago and I have had no communication from the restaurant. When I called for an update half an hour ago they said it was out for delivery so it will be cold if it ever arrived. Couldn't be less impressed if I tried. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE IF YOU WANT TO EAT THE SAME DAY. Rubbish.
