The Blacksmiths Arms in Hartlepool

Had been my local pub for years until I moved away. When we got married we had our wedding reception here. The room was decorated beautifully, the food was amazing and everyone had a fabulous time. Dave is a wonderful landlord.

Went here for a private function and loved it. Such a lovely little pub with very friendly bar staff and friendly locals. Would definitely return to try their menu which looks very appealing!

Great place for a drink and chat.

Was here for Xmas dinner and was not disappointed. 7 courses for £70 and the food was great. A few hiccups here and there but nothing you wouldn't expect during a Xmas service, all of the people within our group were more than satisfied with everything from the welcome, seating, dining, service and atmosphere.

Great food, everything was homemade, service was really good, and staff were very attentive.

I have been a regular in the pub for a long time and for me it's the best and oldest (over 200 years old) in town. Good friendly atmosphere. Great staff. Excellent Beer and food. I have my Sunday lunch every week. I cannot fault it

Great little pub, proper drinks, really good music from the duke box, good staff. Can't ask for more. Homemade pizza van outside and they let you bring it in when you want to eat it.

Family and dog friendly, warm atmosphere, great prices and special offers. Great entertainment, kareoke, bands, quiz nights etc delicious Sunday lunches and speciality nights

Not to bad to be honest , needs a bit of tlc , it was going to close down ,but hopefully the new owners can improve a few things , the staff are very friendly and now it's a free house the drinks are reasonably priced and their is a fantastic pizza van outside , what's not to like . They have live music on now and again and have started doing special food/theme nights , Okay bad points as they were the good points above , no wheelchair access & the parking is awkward but their is plenty of parking space around the corner near the church

Popped in briefly for a pint whilst waiting to collect a pizza from Motivate (the wood fired pizza van outside). We were really impressed with the friendliness inside and they had RoadCrew and Cameron's Strongarm on. Very pleased. Think we will be doing the pizza run with a beer in here more often. Awesome pizza outside by the way! Motivate Stone Baked Pizza.

Visited on a Monday afternoon which was quiet in the back room. Strongarm good and warm and comfortable room

Very friendly place. You can have a conversation with several people you've never met before. Well behaved children and dogs are welcome. Pool table and darts board. Multiple rooms. Food is good but only available at limited times.

Lots of memories here since I was was teenager. Great pub. You can hire a room or just go for a pint and game of pool. Good atmosphere too, homey.

Really nice pub but only had one beer on,food was decent,old couple running the pub were really nice and pleasant but just keep disappearing for 10 minutes leaving people waiting,will call again

Lovely unspoilt cosy pub. Lovely greeting when we walked in - I think it was the owner. We had lunch, lasagne for me and steak pie for my husband. Both were delicious. Great pint too. Prices were amazing definitely going back to try out some other dishes

Quiet pub on the week days. Very well decorated and friendly staff. Pool table and a coin wall. Beer is good prices are also good! Well worth a check out.

Sat outside with the dog. Landlord friendly, landlady brough dog biscuits and water bowl out. Drinks are cheap and wine was nice. Will go back.

A brilliant gig by my cousins tonight in the back room. Good to see the place full. There wasn't a great choice of draught bitters so I opted for Guinness. It's hardly changed.

It is a nice friendly local. Lately it as been really cold as the landlords are not sorting the heating out. Marsdons are good at what they do. They just lack the ability to act on the things that are necessary.
