Outstanding food, great service and atmosphere all at a very reasonable price. Unfortunately there was a problem with the Pizza oven the evening we went but I choose the Risotto Ala Mare instead and I was not disappointed.

We have dined several times at the 1010 restaurant in the Blacksmith Arms pub in Billingshurst over the last 3 or 4 years and always been very pleased with the food, the service and the reasonable prices for the excellent food provided. This time, we were disappointed with the service and are now both reluctant to return. We ordered a 'bruschetta to share, to start and rather than what we normally order - pizza or pasta, both usually excellent and with an authentic Italian taste, this time we ordered a chicken milanese with spaghetti napoletana and I took a dish from the specials of lamb cutlets with mashed potatoes. The problem was that it took ONE HOUR for the main course to arrive. After well over a half hour, I alerted the head waiter and asked about our meal and he said he would check with the kitchen immediately. Which he did but it still took 20 or more minutes to arrive. My wife was ready to give up and walk out but I persuaded her to stay as then, we would not have eaten at all and it was getting late. The food, when it arrived, was good or at least mine was but my wife's chicken schnitzel was overcooked. We concluded that the kitchen had lost or forgotten our order but we didn't even get an apology from anybody which left a nasty taste and in fact spoiled our evening.

A rather disappointing evening. The service was sadly chaotic with our drinks not arriving for 15 minutes; my chosen dish of the tuna burger was not available on the menu but I was only told this at the point of ordering; our starters went to the wrong table; I was asked twice (after we’d already ordered 10 minutes before) what we’d actually ordered for main course; also told that our desserts couldn’t come out at the same time for some reason. The calamari was bland, the carbonara was nice but a small portion and the desserts average at best. I’ve just moved to Billingshurst and had heard good reports about this place, so I’m sad to write this review. The cost of the drinks was knocked off the bill voluntarily, but it didn’t compensate for the rest. Lots of staff who were friendly, but the whole evening just felt totally chaotic.

We were in the area for Goodwood the following day and I literally just found this place by clicking on restaurants popping up on Google. It’s a beautiful building with different seating areas. We got there quite early (around 5ish) so initially were the only people there but by 6 more tables had started to fill up. The service was fantastic, friendly and attentive. The food (which focuses on Italian cuisine) was so good. Great size portions and reasonably priced. The snowdough balls for dessert are a must! My only small gripe would be the small 200ml bottles of Diet Coke but overall we loved the experience and the food and hope to eat here again when we’re back in the area.

This is certainly not a run of the mill Italian restaurant. It is a real gem. I went for dinner with my wife on a busy Saturday evening. The food was fantastic, there were no corners cut in the ingredients used and the portions were not small. The owners clearly take pride in serving authentic Italian dishes. The staff were also attentive and well trained. It was a real pleasure to dine here and we will be back very soon.

Not happy with their 12.5% discretionary service charge, most inconspicuous only noticed when bill produced as an additional charge. This is not professional and most underhanded. The "Sale of Goods Act" clearly states that these additional charges should be advised to customers before purchase so they are aware and either told to customers in advance or be transparent on menus etc and or identified on web site so you do not have to pay and like us demand it is taken off of your bill. We booked a time and about 1 hour later got our meals. Pizzas were very thin on base the edges were burnt and tasted as such and filling on my Pizza was very sparse, as such we will never be visiting this restaurant again. Service very slow and we had to ask for our order and kept reminding them we needed the bill. Poor and regrettable experience from start to finish they need to step up and supply service and food to a much higher standard. We drove 25 miles to get there and seriously struggled to park our car at their car park so be warned about this issue too. I should really report this establishment to trading standards as they appear in breach of Sale of Goods Act.

Booked for 10 of us and loved it. Every course we had was very nice and plentiful. The service was fab and loved the Italian chaps who served us with such enthusiasm. They were great. Good value for money. We shall be back we’ll done 👍

Food is just superb here. I had parmigiana (yummy) and sea bass (also yummy). The only thing I would say is the ambience is a bit basic - it could do with a bit more sophistication in my opinion. It’s a bit like eating in a 1970s M1 service station. But really, if you want great Italian food come here. You won’t be disappointed.

I’m not one to write reviews but the bad reviews for the 10/10 whilst totally entitled differ greatly from my family’s experiences. We have taken family and friends to the Blacksmith's for the last 4 weekends and indeed go tomorrow, The menu is great! Not over priced and the staff and food consistently excellent. On a couple of occasions if a tweak to an order is required they have accommodated the request with open arms. During recent challenging times the 10/10 started delivering which we have also used regularly, often for Sunday lunch, the app is the best I have used! Anyway give it a go.

Very tired lacking ambiance and lousy house red wine! Firstly you are greeted by a smelly owner , obviously a heavy smoker, and no smiles like a normal Italian restaurant. Maybe I have been to Italy too many times but this is not an Italian restaurant, maybe it was years ago? Many say you can judge a restaurant by it's house wine (red) which was really very poor cooking wine which perhaps says it all.

Perfectly decent Italian food but the service is incredibly slow. There were only 3 tables in for lunch and we were still there almost 2.5 hours. Dread to think how they cope when the restaurant is full. Great pizza though.

It’s been a few years since I visited the Blacksmiths Arms but my friend assured me it was very good. Well. I elected to have the prawns for a starter which came served in a heavy tomato sauce, somewhat similar in looks and texture to a tin of tomato soup, which it wasn’t I hasten to add. However such was the flavour that it totally overwhelmed the prawns which were so hot I couldn’t begin to remove the shells until my friend had already finished his starter. For the main course I ordered Pizza Diavola…. The tomato was more like water resulting is such a soggy pizza base it was like slop. Truly awful. To compensate I was given a fee desert of average quality and a free shot of lemonchillo. They still had the gall to add 12.5% service. I suspect it will be another 4 years before I go back.

We had a fantastic family meal, 9 of us in all. The atmosphere is really nice and friendly as were the staff. We all had something different and all enjoyed our meals. Would recommend the Blacksmiths Arms and will definitely be going back.

We went on a recommendation and weren’t disappointed. The pub is a charming olde worlde Tudor village pub, the staff are lovely and the food is wonderful. The pizza made my Italian friend lose the power of speech she was so happy with it.

Stopped here for lunch. Staff were friendly and we decided to sit outside. We were pleasantly surprised to see the Italian menu, which is refreshing change from the usual pub offerings. Drinks were delivered quickly to our table. We chose escalope Milanese with spaghetti and it was delicious. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, big car park. Definitely worth a visit.

We met my wife's cousin and family for high tea/Diner at the Ask in Horsham. I would suggest that a pizza restaurant is in the very casual places to eat given that most consume pasta or posh cheese on toast which are not what you would call high end catering. We had a nice sized table to accommodate the 6 of us. It was good to see that the younger members can still have crayons and colouring sheets to amuse them before and between the arrival of the food. I remember my pasta being nicely cooked with all the pasta submerged in the sauce, there being nothing worse than hard, dried and slightly charred pasta as part of the eating experience, but this was just right. The younger members chose a starter pizza and ice-cream sundae which was just a step too far for one pair of pelican eyes. The staff were attentive considering the busy status of the restaurant and that it was busier than usual for a saturday evening as Horsham had it's fireworks the same evening we ate out. ASK is one of those idea family eating out venues judging by the numbers of families and small parties that were crowding the restaurant. We enjoyed the casual and relaxed atmosphere and the staff did their bit to smooth and speed things along which is important when younger diners are present.

Had two toasted panini meatballs was tasty but cheese and ham was very dry and bland- coffee for an Italian 🇮🇹 deli was not great.

Just awful. Terrible service, always late, pizza tastes like it’s been hanging around for ages (and it has, you can see that in the pizza tracker on the app). They now charge and unreasonable £2.49 for delivery and also won’t let you collect after a certain time, which makes no sense. If you call up to say your order is wrong, they don’t care, and are reluctant to refund - even if they agree they will say if there’s a slice gone you won’t get a refund. How are you meant to know it’s all bad unless you eat some?! Just overpriced crap. Avoid.
