Fuimos para el almuerzo del domingo y conseguimos un montón de todo y la carne estaba tan sabrosa y derretida en la boca. La camarera le preguntó a mi madre si le gustaría un plato pequeño ya que los almuerzos normales son grandes, mi madre tenía el plato pequeño y no pudo terminarlo todo. Bueno, definitivamente volveremos.

Solo almorzamos los domingos, pero fue excelente, si tienes hambre, prueba las 3 nueces excelentes para el almuerzo de carne, solo prueba 3 carnes si tienes mucha hambre, de lo contrario, solo obtén una normal aún abundante

Soy un alcaide para ancianos y durante los últimos 4 años he llevado a los residentes a su almuerzo de Navidad aquí y nunca me han decepcionado, a todos les encanta y volverán de nuevo este año. Creo que era 15 por cabeza para el almuerzo de 3 platos, todo es casero y fresco y vale la pena cada centavo, cócteles de gambas con ensalada, pero también una ensalada con la que es demasiado, tal vez reducir la ensalada y poner Un poco más de salsa. Las porciones son grandes necesitan una mentira después. También ha estado ocupado para el almuerzo del domingo, así que reserve con anticipación; de lo contrario, es posible que no obtenga un asiento, las vistas son hermosas en todas las estaciones, los yorkies con salsa de verduras y la carne son perfectos. Acaba de ser modernizado en noviembre de 2018, por lo que ahora es mucho más cálido, los inodoros aún no están modernizados, pero esperamos que pronto lo estén. Steve y su personal son muy amables, necesitan un automóvil para llegar allí, ya que está un poco alejado del país y un autobús solo cada 2 horas o un paseo encantador si está en forma.

Encantador y una cerveza té después del trabajo, 2 filetes por 15 libras por tanto muy agradable. El lugar es un local y muy agradable con un bar separado y zona de comedor. Bien merece una visita, pero también como hago siempre comida y ser conscientes de que es sólo en efectivo - no dejes que cualquiera te desanime y probarlo!

Habiendo pasado muchas veces antes, decidimos llamar al caballo negro en Barlow Village para una comida de domingo y estoy muy contenta de haberlo hecho. Nuestra preocupación por la camarera que les riñan displicente en nosotros por encima de ella como me explicaron que espectáculos no tienen una reserva muy rápidamente olvidado y nos dieron una mesa cerca de una ventana con una vista impresionante. Los entrantes llegó rápidamente y realmente era encantador - cócteles de gambas muy generoso y lo que parecía ser una buena sopa casera. Había una variedad de cerdo, ternera, cordero o pavo para platos principales, que llegó con un montón de verduras muy sabrosa salsa caliente y tuberías - muy agradable. Almuerzo para 4 con una ronda de bebidas costo 46 libras y que realmente era una gran relación calidad-precio. Sin duda volveremos!

Can not fault the good food and service in this pub, I have tried many different restaurants and pubs and always return here by far the best Sunday lunch in the area.

Booked a table for 10 for Sunday lunch (birthday celebration). As some family were travelling down from The Borders and with the closure of a bridge for work, some were delayed. I rang the restaurant to inform them of the delay, which was no problem. We arrived in dribs and drabs to find a lovely table set and ready for us, after apologising for our delay. Myself and my husband have been here before but other family members hadn't. The waitresses were polite, friendly and accommodating. The ambiance quiet and comfortable with background music only. We all ordered our sunday lunch choices which all come out piping hot, well cooked vegetables, choice of potatoes and the meat (whether beef, turkey or lamb) absolutely delicious. Hot steaming gravy too and ample of your plate so need to request extra. Yorkshire puddings, I'm not entirely sure whether these were home made or frozen but great anway. Equally puddings of various choices all devoured in super fast time. I can quite honestly say that every plate put in front of us was left empty (apart from my peas which is personal choice!!). Lovely day was had, with all my family well impressed with the whole experience. Thank you so much.

We arrived on spec so had not booked a table and they managed to squeeze us in on a table for 2. The menu was substantial for a great Sunday roast with a good selection Meats and a vegetarian nut roast on offer. The lunches on offer come in 3 different sizes so there is something for the big eater down to the not so hungry. The larger meal is a 3 meat platter that really is huge. You get to choose from Beef, Lamb, Turkey or pork. This comes with Yorkshire puddings heaps of veg with roast and boiled potatoes. You can also order a plate of extra Yorkshires with gravy and even an extra gravy boat. Trust me the gravy is nice and thick with a lovely meaty flavour and is very flavoursome. There is a children's menu too and a good dessert menu if you have the room. We will visit again.

Have eaten there many times and the food is always excellent Outdoor or indoor dining this trip we only went to the pub for an hour or so with family

We have been here a few times for parties & we love it! Steve the owner is fabulous and the food.....where do I start, I don't think I can justify how nice it is you just have to try it!! Will definitely be trying the steaks one time Worth a visit you won't be disappointed

Never been here before but on the recommendation of a friend myself and my husband decided this was as good as place as any for a birthday treat. Very quiet on the night we arrived. Lovely cosy looking restaurant room with a mixture of seating arrangements ranging from formal dining to relaxing chesterfield sofas. The room was absolutely freezing though, with only one little electric blow heater in the room. I turned this around in an attempt to get some heat blowing our way, but it made no difference whatsoever. The barmaid/waitress was very friendly and swiflty provided menus and offered drinks. Our meal was ordered and after a short wait it arrived. Again the barmaid/waitress was great and made sure we had everything to hand that we needed. Couldn't fault the meal at all, absolutely delicious from start to finish. We both had different steak cuts cooked to perfection with all the delightful accessories to any steak meal, chips, salad, onion rings, mushrooms etc. Couldn't quite understand the seperate dish of vegetables (carrotts, cabbage and swede) which was vastly overcooked and tasteless but we didn't mind as our plates were already full. The coldness in the room was still evident even after our meals were finished and I really wanted to make a hasty exit to warm up. Here's the niggle......When it came to paying the bill I offered my card only to be told they only accepted cash! Myself and my husband then began a rather frantic search of pockets and purse to scrape enough cash together to cover the cost (which we managed). I questioned the reasoning behind this as was told as it was a country pub the manager had never got around to installing the machines needed. Quite frankly this gem of a pub is in the village of Barlow and isn't that remote. I've been to far solitary places and never been told they only accepted cash. I wasn't aware of any signs at all informing customers of this pretty archiac practice (however, I might have just missed them). It was the only downside to a very pleasant evening and didn't spoil it for us really and probably wouldn't stop us returning in the future. Can thoroughly recommend this lovely little pub.
