Watched the band Auger at the Black Bull. Great night!

Great pub and fantastic hosts. Excellent venue for bands too. Also the best Sunday dinners in the north east

Been coming here for years, always an absolute must when I’m in town. Great prices, I believe £3.40 for a San Miguel cask ale kept very well too. Always a warm welcome from Shev and Maz, also a great place for gigs whether it be watching or playing. Very community driven pub. 100% recommend!

Best bar in Gateshead by a country mile! Fantastic home cooked food, great live bands and a everyone is welcome atmosphere. You can see the love the owners have for the place and it definitely pays off.

A wonderful pub/venue, hosts many great bands and various interesting nights of lovely music. The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming!

Haven't eaten here, but the owners couldn't be friendlier or more helpful, and they put on some great live original music.

People should avoid this place at all costs, this place supports anti hunting groups that regularly have been known to troll and mock a disabled girl online,as well as being a very radical group,nothing to do with anti hunting just pure vandalism and an excuse for another radical movement,also a huge cause of extinction of British traditions,don't suport this bar or the venue

Cracking place for a drink and Sunday lunch, always something to be entertained with.

Go there loads for live punk bands,great sound and atmosphere..

As I walked in I was greeted by a friendly giant of a hound, was served a cold beer, listened to oldschool rock/punk music and had a most excellent meal, what else would I want....definitely coming back

They sell beer, usually with a couple of real ales on offer. And crisps. And nuts. Great jukebox. Great live music too. Also they have a rooftop beer garden.

new paintwork/wallpaper etc in the main bar-very nice relaxing decor now-they like to keep us on our toes thats for sure. Still throwing lots of top bands our way and had some brill nights there-staff, dog and parrots add to the atnmosphere.5 stars

Fantastic, well run pub/ music venue. Beer, food & music is top rate. The gig room has been recently renovated so there is more space. Bands from all over the World have played here. Sunday lunches are legendary. :-)

Traditional pub with a punk feel became the pub for punk music after the broken doll was demolished to make way for the coach stop in New castle hence the doll at the bull with good food

Lovely pub but god give me patience with the social distancing nonsense!! All the rules are in place so I'd rather stay home and drink in the garden 🙄

Friendly bar with nice staff. Mainly a rock/punk crowd but they are very friendly and accepting of anyone. Nice food in a american diner style. Easy access too just a few minutes walk from gateshead metro.

Been a few times, last one was for the Berlin Blackouts gig and it was a belter. Good pint of Guinness too

One of the best bars I've been into in a long time friendly staff and owners decor is amazing good music and they have live bands on over the weekend from around Europe brilliant place and my new favourite bar.

Love the black bull. Been a handful of times now over the past year to see various punk bands. I am always the driver so always have to drink one drink and whatever I can get. It usually ends up being Pepsi. The venue itself is cosy. And run by punks for punks. On a weekend there is usually a few bands playing. But this place is one you can take your mum for a Sunday lunch too. It's just a decent boozer that treats people nice
