The Bengal Tiger in Isle of Anglesey

We had a takeout this evening and i must say it’s probably the tastiest meal I’ve had in years from any Indian takeout!! 5 stars for great food and great value 👍🏻 thanks so much, we will be back 👍🏻

We had no complaints about this takeaway when we visited Anglesey. I had the admittedly not very authentic sounding Bengal Taste (lamb/chickpea) dish and my partner enjoyed her Murghi Massala. Starters were fine and I thoroughly enjoyed the vegetable naan. It is cash only - I was prepared but there is a cash machine at Tesco over the road. Phoning the order was fine too.I would not say it was the best curry I'd ever tasted but I would and will return.

First time in Benllech. Ordered food last night, very easy, just rang, placed order and was asked to collect in 25minutes. They were just finishing it when I walked in. Food was lovely, nicely spiced, heat level as described, very good portions. It was really lovelyOne of us had the special kebab in naan- I've never reccomended a kebab before but it was amazing. Thank you to the staff

After seeing the improved reviews recently, decided to give them a try. What a mistake! Phoned through my order, which was a challenge in itself as they didn’t recognise the dishes, even though they were on their menu, and was told it would be an hour. Arrived on time to be told it would be another 15mins. Returned 15mins later to be told there had been ‘a mistake’ & they couldn’t fulfil the order. No apology, nothing. Brilliant. Off to the chippy....

Ordered via telephone on Saturday at 18.06. I was told my order would be ready in 40mins. We drove 20mins to arrive at 18.40. The man on the counter had to have my order repeated several times even when I said it was a phone order. He had filthy hands. He asked the cook for the order and we were told we it would be another hour. I reiterated that this was ordered on the phone..three quarters of an hour ago.no explanation or apologies...needless to say I would not be waiting and told the man with the dirty hands to cancel...we will not be going again...poor service and someone should point out to them the importance of hand washing...ugh. The place wasn't even busy...chip shop opposite was very busy with a huge queue. Dodged a bullet there I think, can do without upset tummy.

This is the second time we have visited, we try to go every time we are on holiday in Benllech, it was just as good this time as it was the last, worth a visit if you like Indian food

Amazing food. Great flavour. Large portions. Best Indian food I’ve eaten in years 11/10. Don’t hesitate to order!

Came up to Benllech for a few days and unfortunately places had stopped serving food at 8. Luckily this place was still open and we were pleasantly surprised with how nice the food was. Both me and my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed our curries. One of the best Indian takeaways we have ever had! Definitely would recommend!

Tasty authentic Indian food, the building looks too small to produce such fantastic food but it’s just amazing

I ordered a take away for me & my girlfriend, I found it to be a tasty curry, onion bajhee a bit hard, Bombay potato was great so was my curry, no deli-belly. My sister got a takeaway the next night & was equally happy.😀

we’re on holiday and was a rainy day so wanted a curry! only downside was had to wait 50 mins for 1 chicken balti, rice & chips. When we got it, it was amazing. couldn’t fault it, good value for money and really tasty. defiantly recommend!

Lovely food .. variety of dishes ordered, all lovely staff helpful and very pleasant. Only negative, waited half an hour over the 45 minute advised wait.

Since the change of management, this establishment cooks up excellent Indian food, fresh, crisp and beautifully spiced, just perfect.. we love it, see you next week

Having recently moved into the area, we decided to try the Bengal Tiger. The food was well packed and hot, but the poppadoms were soggy and bendy and stale. The curries were both very hot with chilli but lacked any other spice flavourings. We were very disappointed and won't be eating from here again.

We stopped going a while ago, but noticed it was now under new management and thought we would try again. SO glad we did, as the food is fantastic and very friendly staff. We hope the new owner will stay and the locals will support him through the winter.

After having a dreadful meal months ago, I had heard this was under new management and so thought I would give it a go. Huge improvement! Lovely food. I'm not adventurous so it was Korma for me but I must say, one of the best I've had in a while. Decent sized portions and at a very reasonable price. Also, not a long wait for takeaway and food was piping hot. Very pleased and as a local, I will definitely be returning.

I live in Benllech and the reputation of the Bengal Hut has been dreadful, the new owner has transformed it, now on my fourth curry, so far I have tried Bhuna, Patia,Dupiaza and a Jalfry,and they have all been outstanding, not only would I now recommend the Bengal Hut to visitors to Benllech but also to the locals.

I was very disappointed in fact I am surprised they can work out of such a place. Won’t be going again

I had a vegetarian dansak which had pineapple in which was odd to me having ordered it numerous times before in numerous different places and it never have pineapple in. My friend ordered a king prawn Madras which he thought was rather expensive for the amount of prawn you got in it.The naan breads where extremely thin with hardly any flavour.The meal I had would of cost £22 in my local area which is down South yet here it cost me £28 which I also found odd.

This is our local take away, and used to produce really tasty food, but we have now stopped going to it! In the past we went at least once a week. On the odd occasion we would get back to find parts of the order missing or wrong, which in a bust place can happen, but the last couple of times we ordered a vegetable curry and twice we got back to find it was a chicken curry (it was even written on the container that it was a vatable curry), when you are a vegetarian this is a big deal. When an order takes about an hour to be prepared you would expect it to be with care. We will no longer give them our custom, which is a shame.

Not impressed at all. Frozen lamb used in curry. I do not know how they can call it an Indian takeaway. I would not recommend it

if your looking for good food dont go here , when i went there the quality was very pour and i recommend you go across the road

The food is absolutely and utterly disgusting, literally dripping with grease all over the plate, kids meals came with out of date cans of drink, chips were soaking in grease and the kebab was the same. Don’t wast your money in this place get fish and chips.

Had chicken madras, chicken vindaloo and chicken balti between 3 of us, totally soaking in oil and all tasted the same!!! Garlic nan over cooked and chips undercooked! Never again..

I ordered take away by phone, and arrived on time to pick up the meal as it was being packed. No waiting about!

Just had a curry from here, it was the worst curry I have ever had. It was very oily and much much too salty. I won't be going back again and I am very disappointed, the whole lot is in the bin. Save your money and get a Tesco ready meal curry instead.

Tasty indian food , very reasonably priced . The aromas coming from the kitchen really made you feel hungry . Great little takeaway . It is cash payment only . The lamb tikka masala was very tasty

The food in this takeaway was amazing. They had they best curries my partner and I have ever tasted, whenever we order a takeaway this is our first choice. LOVE BENGAL HUT❤️❤️❤️❤️

I am local and decided to try the Bengal Hut and support local businesses. For a busy Sunday night in benllech I should have known the fact that the takeaway was empty was a sign of things to come. Customer service lacklustre and waiting time long. As I walked back to the car the poor quality paper carrier bag broke ; badly packed containers fell to the floor. Great start! Once home unpacked food. Poor quality salad and way overdone onion bhajis that I could not cut or chew. Obviously been refried and reheated I did hear the ping of a microwave whilst waiting . I did not eat any of the starter very disappointed. Next chicken dupiaza, small portion size ; chewy tasteless chicken; sauce hot in spice but poor in depth of flavour; small rice portion again I could not eat it. Garlic naan bread was ok but not very fresh. I won’t be going again . I should have gone to usual takeaways in Llangefni Ali Spice or Llangefni Tandoori.

Its curry Jim but not as we know it. Looks vaguely like what you asked for but only if you like a layer of oily topping. Dry tough lamb, odd pink passanda sauce. Hot red chilli sauce (but not in a good way) on Rogan josh. Tough chicken with chewy bits. Thin filled dry pilau naan. Oh and it's cash only. Seriously go elsewhere!

We had a lovely time here after visiting the area with my girlfriend, enjoying the stunning weather and popping in here for a bite after checking a few places out. I have to say I was very pleased, usually a decent portion is all it takes to satisfy me but the flavour was absolutely on point, I’d recommend this place to anyone.

I like my spicy food and the chicken tikka naga naga is delicious!! The scotch bonnet chillis in there really set the curry on fire but in a good way! Will definitely be back for another. Its addicting

Basically.....not great, not good , not average , not nasty .... but ultimately not worth it ! Buy a supermarket jar of sauce and a chicken breast and save 20 quid !!

Came back to see a mate - great food and atmosphere. Would definitely visit here again. Never had Bangladeshi food before but happy with the reccomendation

The take away is famous for Indian and blandeshi food☺☺, the food here is very delicious and tasty, they have number of variety of dishes with very good reasonable price, I always come here to have tasty food, my favourite food item is naan, chicken tikka, jalfrigi,chicken korma,the response to the customers are very excellent and very good customer service they maintain high standard of hygiene.overall I am happy to have food here

Absolute shambles. The curry was watered down and tasteless, the kemmanam had no meat we counted 3 peases of small mince meat. The popadoms were even burnt and foul. Weve just moved to benllech so wanted to support the local buisness. We will not be going there again.

As a resident in Benllech i welcomed the reopening of this takeaway. On our recent visit i ordered a lamb shami kebab. What i got was a cheap funfair type 'BEEF BURGER'. The curry was bland and tasteless accompanied by a dry and brittle nan bread. This place is a joke avoid at all costs !

Lived in benllech most of my life, we always wanted a good Indian and we are still looking. Most of the reviews on here a done by staff. We have to drive 20mins away to get a decent indian.no taste at all go else where

Possibly the worst takeaway we/I have EVER had in our/my life!!! Was told 30 mins wait... we waited 2 hours to get our food. My husbands bhuna May have looked ok but tasted terrible. I ordered Chicken rogan josh. But I ended up with a chicken tikka excuse of curry which was NOT A ROGAN JOSH.. and not what ordered Infact it didn’t even resemble a curry just a grease filled disgusting smelly mess!!!!! Both were totally swimming in FAT AND GREASE not even ghee. We got 2 HALF portions of rice undercooked naan and burned onion Bhaji. Neither of us could eat the food as it was disgusting. There where several other people kicking off re service when we were in due to waiting 4/5 longer than promised. Would I eat here again NO... I would rather starve or chew my own leg off!!! Never have I been so disgusted with food or service in my life!!!

Bengal tiger- now called Bengal hut. I visited for the first time yesterday with my family and after a long day at the beach this hit the spot! The kids loved it too. Great staff and even better food. Would defos recommend it, can’t wait to come back when I’m next in wales.

Rude staff. Food is very low-par. Even if it's quick I wouldn't grab it. The Taste of India restaurant in Menai Bridge is so much better, DEFINITELY worth the 10 minute extra drive. I wouldn't bother with this place.

Extensive menu, with a few things we've not seen before. Helpful staff and they take orders from 4pm in the summer, went twice so can't be bad.

I remember when this place opened about 20 years ago . It was fantastic then but having moved away for quite some time I tried it again all those years later to find it was just as awesome as it was to begin with. I must recommend this place .

It's my local Indian and I've never had a bad takeaway from this little gem of a place. Great food at reasonable prices.

The first time we ever went to the Bengal Tiger, food excellent I had Lamb Dopiaza and my husband had Chicken Koria. Papadoms and chutney was great too. Highly recommended. Cash only takeaway.

The Bengal Tiger, without a doubt the best curries we have ever had, and we have eaten a lot of curries over the years! Everything is cooked fresh to order and all the meats are cooked fresh for each dish, so you have to wait 30mins for lamb dishes. The Karahi and balti dishes are especially good, also the vegetable pilau rice. We really can't recommended this place enough!

Just had an Indian from here. Ordered the egg pilau rice chicken tikka masala boiled rice chips and poppadoms. Food was excellent and very filling now I feel like I can't eat for a week and normally I have a huge appetite. Service was excellent also and the guy in charge was friendly chatty with a smile on his face just what you want. Would recommend this to anyone in the area and wish there was an Indian like this where I'm from.

Very impressed with the service, price and quality of our meal. We ordered chicken madras, pilau rice and naan bread. The madras was tasty/spicy but not too fiery..just the way I like. Not been here for a while, but definitely will visit again.

Been here several times in the last couple of months and have sampled a few different savouries from the menu and enjoyed them all. Prices are a little more expensive than Manchester but food quality has been good. No issues with ghee. Will be back next week.

Food was disgusting and there was so much ghee floating on top of the food it made it inedible! All we could hear while we waited 25 minutes for our food was the microwave pinging!! Definitely wouldn't reccommend!

If you are in the are then this is a brilliant curry house to go for a curry at. I would highly recommend.
