Sarisa Indian Kitchen in Isle of Anglesey

Six of our Family met up for dinner. The presentation, freshness and taste of the food was first class. The service and attentiveness of the staff was also superb. This is one of the best Indian restaurants I have eaten in.

From the moment we found the restaurants entrance it was promising to be a wonderful experience . We were not disappointed. Lovely open venue that had a good atmosphere. The menu was varied with some chefs specials that were new to me .Staff attentive knowledgeable and helpful . From poppadums with chutney to starters and mains presentation and flavours were spot on. Chicken tikka saag will never be same again for me as one of the staff recommended I try it with an extra hit of spice and wow my tastebuds were in for a treat! Naan bread was just perfect thin and crispy with bubbles coated in garlic and coriander . All in all the best Indian meal had in a good while with wonderful staff. May only be visiting for a few days but think we will be back for another meal before we leave . Thanks for a wonderful meal and service 😊

Delicious takeaway with prompt service. We would recommend the food here. The king prawn rogan josh was delicious and the prawns with grilled before putting in the sauce. My son had a garlic, chilli lamb dish and my husband had a lamb Madras and both said that they wet very tasty. We also had neat samosa and chicken chaat.

All I can say is wow. The whole experience from start to finish was great. Such friendly staff. The food was presented beautifully and tasted just as good as it looked. We will 💯 be back.

A pleasant meal tonight, all vegetarian. Made a special request for a curry with no onion or garlic and after some negotiations the chef made me a very nice dish.Thankyou ! Shame there weren't more customers.

Booked via phone 3hrs ahead for advertised home delivery. Requested delivery for 8pm ….. delivery eventually arrived 8:50pm. Table service is ok but don’t rely on the home delivery. Especially when you’ve allowed for a delay. 50 mins is a joke when it’s only a 10 min car drive away.

Three of us, arrived when they were thinking of wrapping up for the evening. Totally welcoming, effortless friendly service, sensible price for super tasty, fresh cooked food.

We had a takeaway for 10 people and the food was excellent. The food was ready on time and some of the best Indian food we have tasted. Highly recommended.

Don't bother with the online order service. It never arrives and on ringing they just lie and insist it en route. Which, based on our experience, it most definitely was not!

Absolutely the worst takeaway Indian meal I have ever had (I've had a few!). Overpriced rubbish. Such a shame. We have had lovely meals in the past.

Dissappointed again food mediocre chicken very salty

The flavours were probably there, somewhere, if you could penetrate to them through the ocean of cooking oil that submerged them. These were oil dishes with tangy lumps. This was probably the most unpleasant Indian meal I have ever had. Why, I wonder? The food obviusly has potential, so why ruin it by irrigating it so comprehensively in oil? I shall not be back.

We ordered a takeaway, and were really looking forward to it having heard good things about the restaurant. It was disappointing. I think the food is overpriced and the tastes are very ‘same-ish’. Our biggest dislike was that the dishes were swimming in oil; surely so very much oil doesn’t need to be used in cooking the curries? The website explains how they concentrate on healthy eating; for me, this is not healthy. And then to have to pay another £2.95 for a portion of white rice! For four of us it was not a cheap meal; I rather wish we had just bought curry ready meals from the Waitrose in Menai Bridge.

Yummy food. If you are in Bangor or nearby, you must try. Tried fish pakora, garlic naan, Peshawari naan, butter naan, mixed grill, lamb shank, lamb Biriyani & mango kulfi. Each of the items was tasty.

Tried to book online, received email saying we will get back to you, never did. Turned up and got a table easy enough. Staff were great and very busy. I had the chops which were very disappointing, one piece wasn’t a chop, and had little meat on, the other two were over cooked and under cooked in equal measure. The sauce with the keema rice was very good.

Friendly service. The fish pakora was as good as I've had anywhere. My wife enjoyed the chicken in honey and spice sauce

Lovely food and efficient, friendly service. But be warned, if you open the bottle of water that is sitting on the table when you arrive, you will be charged for it.

The food here had so much flavour and you could tell there was love put in to making it, choices for everyone, including people who are not too good with spiciness. The staff were attentive and served us well and the meal went very smoothly. Would recommend these to anyone in the area looking for great quality Indian food.

Just walked in and given a seat. The food was excellent. I had the lamb curry. The meat just fell apart. Delicious from start to finish. Very polite staff. Very clean. Would recommend you visit when staying in Beaumaris.

Was recommended the Chicken naga curry when ordering a takeaway vindaloo on my way home. If I’m totally honest, I hadn’t heard of it before but was happy to try something new. Well, it was the best curry I’ve ever had! Absolutely delicious flavours and my new favourite! Highly recommend trying this if you like hot curry as it’s full of flavour.

Excellent start to finish! Wonderful service, starters of lamb samosa and a chicken/chickpea dish I'd never had anywhere else were superb. Great naan, great mains, and we've had a lot of Indian dinners in the UK and abroad. Nice atmosphere, bright but quiet. And the music was perfect (nice volume, too). We had a perfect evening there! Many thanks to the chef and staff.

Since being taken over the restaurant is superb. The dishes are delicious and beautifully presented when eating in and the takeaway service is of an equally high standard. We have started going to Sarisa every Sunday evening as it is so good. Really worth a visit.

We were directed to Sarisa as everywhere else had stopped serving food at 9pm (we had been delayed watching the beautiful sunset at Penmon). What a lovely find. The food was delicious. Portions generous. Best onion bhaji and naan I have ever had. Prices were reasonable too. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely return. Only low stars were for atmosphere as the room is large and on a Monday night, we were the only ones there for sometime. Not their fault though. The lovely food and friendly staff make up for any lack in atmosphere.

The food here is excellent. Very fresh and wonderful flavours. Staff are friendly and professional. For early evening, best to book a table, but we went at 9.00pm and were able to sit straight down.

We had lunch today, best food and grill in the town. Chef Kamal has 26 year of experience in Indian cooking. I would strongly recommend this restaurant in Beaumaris.

Found this a bit of an odd dining experience. The restaurant is a little open and I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic dinner. Service was ok until we had to wait over an hour and a quarter for our food (only 3 of us). Food was fairly nice when it finally came. A slightly odd atmosphere also as the head waiter was quite rude to his staff. I wouldn't go back.

We had a take away last night for a large party and the food was superb. Every person commented on their individual dishes being delicious and the size of the meat servings were great. Keep up the great work. Will definitely visit again when back in the area.

We ended up stopping here for dinner at a late-ish hour (for normal places, impossibily late for Island places) and had actually a very reasonable meal, though there were some minor issues with our initial service (order-taking) being quite delayed despite the usual forms of attempting to summon the waiter. (close menus, craned necks, etc.) for an empty restaurant. Drinks and food WERE served very quickly after ordering, and the food was quite good; with a particular focus on very good Na'an.

The menu publicised outside reflected prices different to the one inside which was 40% higher. We were charged £4.95 for table water. One of the staff created unpleasant drama because he had lost his wallet. Not good value for money.

My wife and I ate here on a Sunday evening in March so the atmosphere was a little quiet. The food however was first class, I come from the Midlands so am no stranger to good Indian cuisine. We both enjoyed our meals, the service was great and very friendly, I ordered a king prawn madras but was persuaded to try the tandoori king prawn Rawalpindi. What a dish! Probably one of my best curry's ever! Well done, hope to visit again

Decided on take out, omg so devastated with there're pricing. Doubled the price on what we usually order locally. Won't use again, 😪 zero stars unfortunately

Three of us arrived at 6.30 to enjoy a meal before the theatre. At 7.30 we still had not received our food and were told the takeaway orders took residence. The theatre started at 8. My chicken shashlik was good, but the buttered chicken and the prawn byriani were left. Despite complaining the buttered chicken was charged full price. The staff were over familiar and the whole experience put a dampener on the evening out.

Wow! This is honestly the best Indian food I've had in years! The staff were fabulous. Nothing was to much trouble. They went the extra mile when they found out it was my birthday by putting a banner up behind me 🤣. If you're staying in or around Beaumaris you've got to go to this restaurant.

As an Indian I would never recommend this 'Indian restaurant' to anyone. The food had no taste, no spice just food colouring and sugar. Some of the food was mediocre and some dishes where just terrible. The curries were unsightly colours. The menu descriptions does not adequately describe the food you are getting. Our food took 50 minutes and was not worth the wait. We wasted £70+ on this terrible food. Very disappointing indeed.

My experience starts with an order online. The reviews on Google seemed good and since we were staying for 1 night it seemed decent enough. We ordered a few dishes, Chilli Paneer, chilli chips, paneer Masala, Bombay Aloo, tarka daal and Honey Chilli Chicken. I ordered for collection and made my way within 30 minutes of ordering. Upon arrival I was told that the naans were not ready so I ended up waiting an extra 20minutes. While waiting for the food, during a conversation with a waiter, they mentioned that the chef is from Birmingham. "Great! I'll get a proper curry" I thought to myself. I found the Chilli Chips, Chilli Paneer, Paneer Masala and Honey Chilli Chicken to be overly sweet. So sweet that I had to contact the restaurant and complain. The waiter on the phone tried to convince me that all of the dishes I ordered were sweet dishes. Now I'd agree that the Honey Chilli Chicken will have a sweetness but I also expected a level of spice. For a dish which has the word "chilli" in, I was not expecting any sweetness from the paneer and the chips. The colour of the dishes was just not nice. You can clearly tell food colouring was added to the Paneer Masala which is totally unnecessary. My theory is that the restaurant is using canned tomato and therefore need to add a little sugar to cut through the acidity of canned tomatoes. The waiter continued to argue that these are sweet dishes and it is what's stated on the website. Upon review of the website the chilli chips said "Chilli sauce topped with fresh green chillies" but the taste had me thinking the chef came from Cadbury World in Birmingham. The waiter refused to even try and remedy the situation instead saying "we cannot do anything as these are the dishes you ordered". After some more discussion, the waiter agreed to refund the 3 dishes within 7 days. I will give credit where it is due. The tarka daal was mediocre at best and the Bombay aloo was bland so at least it was a nice departure from dessert style dishes I experienced from the rest of my order. I will update this to confirm if I receive a refund as my trust in Sarisa has been reduced to 0 after the poor management of the situation.

Very good standard of food and excellent service. The decor inside could do with some improvement. The service was excellent especially from the young waiter from Essex, he went the extra mile and gave us a positive experience.

Stay away, stay away please, if you are looking for an authentic Indian meal and quality food. I am an Indian and I can testify that the food tastes no where closer to good Indian food. We ordered Tandoori Chicken Tikka and our hands got red after eating it. We literally had to wash our hands twice to get rid of the color in our hands. Apparently they are using a lot of red-coloring agent to give cooked chicken pieces a good look. What surprised us the most was the bill. The server told us that they would cook tandoori chicken in a curry. The usual chicken curry is around 10.95. We were charged 16.95 which we found to be on the higher side. The server did ask us thrice about the food (which is good service). So, we would give this due credit to him. However the food wasn't tasty and the price was higher. I would recommend that the restaurant needs to be more transparent in their pricing, and focus on achieving the authentic taste in your food.

Sarisa was recommend to us and we weren’t disappointed!! We had a fantastic meal and would highly recommend. The staff were amazing, in particular Numan.

We used to come here when it was previously Meghana, and it was okay but disappointing. Since these people have taken over and have rebranded. We went the other day to try it out and it really is one of the best places we've been to (weve been to many across the north west). Strong flavours and good balance. Prompt service and kind atmosphere. In the evening it can seem quiet but it does pick up as the night goes on! We are going back here in a few days so fingers crossed!

Excellent food best biryani I have ever had Friendly staff and great atmosphere

Ate here last night fabulous food and friendly service. The Biriyani dish was sampled by a friend who was up from London - he said it was in the top 3 he’s ever had ( and his had a few). We are so lucky to have this place only 6 miles away. Got to go if you are on holiday or a local!!

We felt very bombarded by the waiter… the food was nice but coats grabbed off us as we got in the door… unfortunately lost Christmas present money in the process which sadly wasn’t found…the staff did help look the next day but not found.

Ordered a takeaway here as a treat with it being Christmas Eve, firstly the manner in which my call/order was taken Was very stand offish and to me quite rude, got home & sat down to eat our meals and was not as described on the menu,was very bland indeed,my partner only had 4 prawns in his meal,it was also pretty expensive,Safe to say will NOT be returning, Even if we are local 🤮

5 stars just isn’t enough for these guys, we recently moved to Anglesey & have struggled to find a good Indian but last night we dined @ sarisa! Mohamed was great, he welcomed us in, showed us to the table and even helped us choose the meals & introduced me to bang beer which I’d never heard of before. The chef accommodated my wife’s food allergies & he even came out to see us just to make sure that everything was right? So if you’re thinking of a Indian meal then look no further. The phone never stopped ringing For takaways in all the time we were there which says a lot, and it was a Sunday evening !! For my starter I had mixed grille, chicken & lamb tikka, sheek Kebab and grilled prawn, fresh popadoms with all the sauces.. I had tandoori masala with pilla rice, the wife had chefs special fish, not sure what fish it was but it didn’t taste fishy and it was a semi meaty white fish with a creamy sauce ! I tried it and it was delish. We also had a keema naan bread. To much to eat and eyes bigger than bellies so we took the doggy bag home and I had it for breakfast 😜 Amazing food and we will be back Joolz

From the moment you walk through the illuminated arch way you know you are in for something special and sarisa does not disappoint whether it be the stunning food dishes to suit all palettes delicious and reasonably priced or the attentive and highly entertaining staff sarisa is outstanding and you will leave feeling satisfied and elated.

Spent a really delightful evening at this restaurant , The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our delicious meal . . No hesitation in recommending the Sarisa. It’s great .

Yum! Delicious Indian food, whether you eat in or takeaway. Great staff. Would recommend honey roasted chicken for a mild curry, or pathia for something spicier. Always good fun when we go here!

Absolutely brilliant food with a fantastic blend of spices. The servings were also really generous. Service was quick, friendly and very efficient . The only reason for not awarding 5 stars was the rather bright surroundings that lacked the warmth you expect in a restaurant. If you want top quality Indian food this is the place to go!

Absolutely amazing food! poppadoms and onion bhaji for starter so fresh, for a main I had chicken biryani it was the best I have ever tasted so fresh and chicken was so tender. My Dad had the lamb biryani and he said the same, my mum had the chicken tandoori, just as tasty. Service was really good, very friendly, warm and welcoming, nothing was to much trouble, highly recommended.

Stopped by on a Saturday evening. We hadn't booked, nevertheless we were welcomed and seated quickly. Staff were polite and efficient and the food was very good. I recommend the Lamb Naga. It was deeply flavoured and rich, with a steady and progressive heat complimented by the excellently cooked and tender lamb. If I lived locally this would definitely be my go-to curry.

Food was very tasty. This is the first time we been here since the new owners have taken over and we were pleasantly surprised by the standard of food and service. Starters came out very quickly and hot followed by mains shortly after finishing the starters no issues with the service at all all staff were very friendly. The food was very nice. Looked amazing taste was devine all cooked very well. Highly recommend will definitely go again in the future
