Spice Island Menai Bridge in Isle of Anglesey

Lovely food and pleasant service, had one vegan with us and they ate some side dishes and had a choice of main meal.

Ordered two starters that were the same but one meat one vegetarian. When the starters arrived, they did not know which was vegetarian and took them away. They were then brought back to the table and probed by the owner in front of us 🙄 It was impossible to tell as they were covered in a yoghurt and tamarind sauce, which was warm 🤢 Instead of throwing them away and re doing the starters, we were left with the choice to eat it or leave it 😮‍💨 That's why I couldn't award the 5 star they should have got. Waitresses 5 🌟 Menu 5 🌟 Actually, restaurant 5 🌟 The only thing that let them down was dealing with the food problem, which is a big issue for vegetarian and vegan customers. We would have returned again and again, but unfortunately, this is a big issue to us as customers. The food has to be right or replaced! If your serving Vegans or vegetarians use different colour bowls, simple! That said, it was a very friendly, pleasant atmosphere with a good turnover of customers, so if you're not vegan or vegetarian, I recommend a visit. I'm always honest on my reviews 💯

Had extremely abrupt and cheeky service by a woman on the phone whilst ordering. I simply ended the call and ordered a takeaway for 7 people from Sopna. Their loss for the sake of a bit of manners.

Good Asian food ,in 3 spicy levels. We tried chicken biriyani, railway lamb curry, malai chicken, and naan. It's value for money. We were 8 people and it's cost only 130 pounds including drinks. The only problem was too much delay. We waited for more than 1 hr while dining in. I think they are cooking live, that's the reason for the delay. I recommend this place if you may have the patience to wait.

Absolutely outstanding meal! We ordered ahead for takeaway, it was ready precisely at the time given, even on a busy Saturday evening. The food was phenomenal, bursting with flavour and incredibly fresh. Wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again, fabulous all round!

I can only repeat what others before me have already said. Everything about the restaurant is perfect, great service, lovely atmosphere and the menu was refreshing, not the usual long list of standard Indian dishes, very unique dishes and 'street food', the railway lamb was amazing. Visited last evening, the food was delicious, we had a, couple of curries that we had never tried, the Railway curry and the Malai curry. Both very different and tasty, starters were lovely and the garlic naan was light and tasty. Service was excellent and the restaurant looked very clean, although I didn't visit the WC which is always a good guage. The atmosphere was very quiet, however it was a wet Monday eve in April. We would deffo visit again

Four of us popped in on Easter Saturday for dinner, and expected an Indian meal. What we received was nothing short of outstanding. Particular praise must be given to the Railway Lamb, a dish inspired by the kind of food served on Indian rail journeys. It was truly sublime. Lamb can be a bit hit and miss in an Indian restaurant, but this dish had rich depth of flavour, and was clearly slow cooked to perfection, allowing the taste of the meat itself to come through once the spicy hit from the sauce had faded. All four of us were genuinely impressed with the evening. Recommended!

Great that they were open on bank holiday Monday. They were very busy but our takeaway food was still delicious and hot. Friendly staff and clean/tidy establishment.

Ordered for 5.30 and didn’t get the food until 5.55. Found the food to be expensive and not really with it when compared to our normal Indian restaurant.

Just had a takeaway from here and it was absolutely fantastic....very tasty well cooked food, ordered the railway lamb its unreal, my friend order the lamb balti, again a really lovely dish. Mixed starters each which again was lovely and tasty. If you are looking for a very good Indian restaurant or takeaway then don't go any further....highly recommended

OMG! Best food in the UK. Forget 5 Stars give it 10. Customer Service beyond expectations. Traditional Ambience with authentic mouth watering food. We have tried all the menu options and cannot fault the food. The food is cooked 100% to your individual requirements just ask the waiter/waitresses. As a family we eat at least once a week whether it is sit down or takeaway and have done since opening. Nice food with good portion and tasty. Easy to order via the website but doesn't accept card - only card on arrival at the restaurant. Service is a 3 due to my having to wait 20 minutes on arrival restaurant (and 23 minutes after notified website "order ready by" time) to receive my order.

Curry fish - highly recommended savoury, fish is cooked well, could be a bit more dry before pouring the curry on top, flaky fish 3. Chicken deshi - too dry chicken, well spiced 4. Prebooked 5 days ago! Some customers were late and just because of that our booking was delayed. Got told that we will call you when a table gets empty ! Just be professional guys dont be another pathetic restaurant that can keep any words !

Worst restaurant ever! They were so unprofessional we booked for our anniversary with 8 friends and they gave us a slot for 9:30 we reach there on time then they tell us to wait another 30 mins or so and they are not even sure whether it will be ready or not because it will depend on other people leaving the table imagine if they didn’t leave until 11? No manners what so ever it wasn’t like we walked in it was booked and they don’t know how to handle their customers

Poor experience. It was like we were in a spicy food eating challenge. Abnormal amount of spice. We weren’t even asked how spicy/mild we want our curry. We eat at Indian restaurants frequently and their level of spice was not enjoyable at all, there was no taste to the food. We called beforehand to confirm if online menu is the same price as dining in, she said yes it is. When we got there it was all 30% more. Very sneaky and dishonest. We stayed regardless. I was then given 2 pints of coke (£4 each!! From a Can) we weren’t asked small or large. I then asked for lemon in my drink, and the waitress came with 2 wedges of lemon in her bare hands and handed them to us. Very unhygienic, no tongs or placed on a side plate. I physically couldn’t take another bite of my food, it was pure burn every bite. Our stomachs feel so acidic and fiery. When we paid the bill and left, we weren’t even given a thank you or a goodbye. I will never return to this place. Very bad experience. £60 for pure punishment.

We came to celebrate a birthday and the staff let us put a few banners up. The staff were very friendly and professional. Delicious food full of flavour. The menu shows a variety of different spices next to the dishes which is great as some of us can't handle spicy food. There is plenty of choices on the menu. Highly recommend Spice Island.

This place is not only the best Indian on the island and surrounding area but its up there with the best regardless of cuisine. We have eaten here 3 times in the last month its that good. The service is great. The 2 young waitresses are attentive and dont stop moving. The food is very good. Its not your average Indian restaurant food. The menu is concise and there are dishes that are refreshingly different. Ive eaten Indian food for years. This is as good as Ive eaten anywhere. If I was going to recommend one dish Ive had so far it would be the railway lamb curry. My only complaint is its a 30 minute drive from home.
