The Bell Inn in Thanet

Not our first rodeo at this fantastic establishment. A great a-la-carte menu with some typical comfort food choices, but also offer daily specials that are creative and very tasty. Today we enjoyed Haddock & Chorizo croquettes, Deep fried Brie with Cranberry sauce, Pork Tenderloin with Bubble ‘n Squeak and Black Pudding, Sea Bass fillet with Prawns & Tempura King Prawn, Ribeye Steak with Peppercorn sauce, Mushrooms and Chunky Chips.

Lovely country pub great atmosphere service and food!! Gluten free catered for so well, great menu including deserts I would highly recommend!!

Best lunch I've had for years. Venison was incredible. Eaten in many starred restaurants. This was the best. Beats the sportsman and quince. Superb food. 5 star.

Today we popped into The Bell just for a drink had never been here before a friend had recommended.. went in to ask if our dog could come me and that was yes.. went into the back bar ordered our drink ..girl behind the bar was not very welcoming we sat at a table because there was no where else to sit we where asked to move as it was reserved for someone for lunch.. we asked where else we could sit was told everywhere else was full we would have to stand at the bar .. found the girl very rude and unwelcoming plenty of tables with nobody sitting at them..tall slim girl dressed in black blond hair in a pony tail maybe she was having a bad day ., needs some training in customer service

Fillet steak on the specials board was magnificent staff were attentive and polite, wine was well above average don't have a bad word to say perfectly priced and would recommend highly 5 stars

My family went to The Bell a couple of weeks ago for Sunday Lunch and it was fab. We decided to go as a family of 5 on a Saturday evening with my Mum as she lives local and we were visiting her for the weekend. Food was lovely, the Brie was fab and the Steak and Ale Pie was very good. I was, however, very disappointed with the service, it was not slow, but one particular waitress wasn't very happy, it made us feel a little bit uncomfortable asking for anything and it seemed a lot of effort for her. When you go to a restaurant you do expect the staff to be welcoming, although she was particularly friendly with the locals I noticed! I would go back, but I do think the waitress could do with attending a customer service course!!!!!!

Enjoyed a Sunday roast with friends. We all enjoyed the food, roast beef; roast chicken and roast lamb. And desserts. When we are paying to eat out we want value for money and to be served food that is as good as or better than what we cook at home. We were not disappointed. Absolutely delicious. Service was very good too. Not been to the Bell for around ten years. We won’t be leaving it that long again.

We have been coming to the Bell Inn for many years now. We have always found the food and choice excellent. Today was no exception. Also the staff are so friendly. The rustic feel of the place is fantastic. So cosy, you feel you could stay here all day. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Wonderful British pub from the 1500s with delicious food, pleasant atmosphere and guests as well as a good selection of drinks. Out of the way, our bed and breakfast hostess recommended it.

Another excellent evening of fabulous food again can't fault it. Lovely service and piping hot. Defo recommend any day for food.

There were five of us and our meals were tasty apart from very garlicky dauphinoise potatoes and roast potatoes weren’t crispy on the outside, good sized portions though. Service was slow, didn’t help that the Guiness was down so staff had to nip over to their sister pub The Sun Inn for husbands pint! Would come back but perhaps not on a Sunday!

Visiting a friend and went over for dinner. Food was excellent with generous portions. Service was quick for a freshly cooked meal and the atmosphere was very friendly. Reasonable choice of beers. What more could you want ?

Fantastic food this was our fourth visit and the food is first class we have recently visited Tom kerridge’s pub the coach at Marlow we would both say that the food here is 1st class and as tasty as we experienced there would highly recommend 1st class chef

Once again a visit with my friend from Australia for the steak and ale pie. Booked for 1pm and the welcome could not have been better from our smiling host. The pie was superb, the atmosphere excellent, the seating comfortable and the liquid refreshments great. After our meal we went to the garden to finish our drinks in the midday sun. An exceptional lunch in a great old inn. Highly recommended.

Some recent reviews painted a poor picture of this pub but ours was a good experience. We had meals from both the specials board and lunch menu. Very impressed with the food and generous portions. The staff were very attentive. Altogether a very enjoyable time....
