we have gone to this beefeater for years as it is the best one in surrey. but we where sad that Sunday 11th November they closed for the last time , Whitbread in there wisdom decided to sell it . it was sad to say goodbye to the staff that we had got to know . we wish all the staff our best wishes .

Family friendly restaurant, came out for a casual sunday dessert, delicious menu, and good signature cocktails too.

We arranged to meet friends here as it had a large car park and was approximately equal distance from both our homes. We wish we had gone elsewhere. It was a disaster. Having ordered we waited ages for our meals to be served at our table. It obviously had not all been cooked at the same time as it was apparent some of the food had been left under the heat lamp, which made it not fresh. some of it was basically horrible. The staff did not seem bothered

We go regularly on a Monday, myself, sister and mum. We are always looked after very well by our waiter, David. Tonight he was rushed off his feet and could have done with some help, however, he managed to keep everyone happy and we still had a lovely experience.

Great visit, great service, great food! Although the team are stretched they deliver. Look forward to returning soon.

Absolutely terrible from start to finish. Our drinks order wasn't taken until 30 minutes after we arrived, starters didn't arrive for well over an hour and we had to send two back as they were cold...took another 20 minutes to arrive. Just as we were about to give up and leave sadly the main courses arrived which were average at best, and three meal orders were incorrect. Not only all of the above but this is the first restaurant I have ever been to that didn't actually have any beer on tap...the best they could find was a bottle of warm corona with a glass of ice! When queried with the manager we were essentially told it's not their fault they had so many bookings along with a some kind of a system failure and that were were a large table of 10 so basically we should expect it to be slow. He seemed exasperated at our bringing it to his attention. The actual waiting staff I'm sure are competent and were apologetic, but sadly the restaurant seems to be running in such a way it appeared to make it difficult for them to actually do their job.

I am not sure where to begin with this. The service was very slow, orders incorrect, no draught beer, food luke warm when it arrived. The waiting staff were obviously over run even though the restaurant was not that full. We had small children with us who waited nearly an hour and a half for their food which was not what they ordered when it came. We were at the point of cutting our losses and leaving as the children were tired and becoming restless when main courses arrived. Half of us did not eat our food as we were past hungry and some had to leave due to the wait. I would like to say the serving staff were doing their best and could not have been more apologetic. The manager on the other hand seemed to think it was our fault as we were a large group and should expect to wait and blamed a system breakdown. However after reading the reviews this was not a one off just an incredibly badly managed restaurant. Definitely one to avoid!

Terrible service, staff not on shift and helping themselves to drink and food . Not washing hands going behind bar and into kitchen. Also very rude to customers, I suggest the area manger to see cc tv from the 12th September this will show you how your staff behave . Awful was meeting my sister we are both in our 80s haven’t seen each other in years . A special day ruined cold lamb roast and beef in edible would not recommend any one to go there

I have written nearly 200 reviews and this is only the second time I have written a 1* review. Arrived Sunday 1.30pm for a 70th birthday lunch. Food order taken 55 minutes after arrival and the food an hour after that. No atmosphere; food average but poor presentation. A neighbouring table complained about the service to the waiter, who was doing his best. He said that they weren’t allowed to employ any more staff to improve the service! Really needs closing and rebranded, or at least a new manager. Such a shame considering the potential and its previous reputation.

This place is rapidly going downhill, which is such a shame as the location is so lovely. The garden is dirty and covered in rubbish, the toilets are literally disgusting, and there is never enough staff. I feel so sorry for the staff, as they are always getting grief from unhappy customers, and clearly have no support from management. The whole place needs a refurb, and the food itself (when eventually delivered) is pretty poor too. This place needs some serious help.

We waited ages after ordering and our meals were delivered to our table. We were not advised of the long wait which was unfortunate as we had to be somewhere afterwards at a pre arranged time. The food itself was OK. Completely lacked and organisation and communication with customers. This restaurant has gone radically downhill since we last are here.

Our visit here was a catastrophe. Order taken quickly drinks served within a reasonable time. We waited and waited for our meals to be served. When questioned we were told they were busy. Nearly an hour later the food eventually arrived and not all that fresh. It appeared they were not all cooked at the same time and some of them had been left standing. It was a catastrophe

Our orders were taken quickly and efficiently soon after four arrival. The drinks were served within 10 minutes. However we waited nearly an hour for our food. They obviously had not been cooked at the same time . Some meals were fresh and others horrible as it seems they had been reheated under the heat lamp. The kitchen is the problem at this restaurant and in my opinion the management need to sort it out. It is a shame we were not informed of the long wait for our meals when ordering

Delicious food and exceptionally friendly service at Tattenham Corner, Epson Downs. Gaynor deserves a special mention for her exceptional care for our younger son's nut allergy and attentiveness to meet all our needs to make our lunch experience an enjoyable one.

I was really looking forward to a steak and chips. I was not disappointed. The Sirloin steak was tender and the chunky chips were so good. The waitress Gaynor was alone serving the food but did a good job getting round to everyone.
