From the warm welcome (owners and dogs!), to the lovely menu, and fab views a perfect pit stop. Simple menu, toasties, soup & crusty rusty bread, pancakes, breakfasts ... but hearty home cooked and delicious. Lovely moist cakes. Gallery area well stocked with locally painted pictures, pottery, jewellery all good quality. All housed in a very stylish “shed”, well worth a visit. We visited 10 days before Xmas, they are only open Sunday and Friday in the Winter. And shut from the 22nd Dec - Easter, so check the website for opening times.

This place is simply the best. The welcome by the two dogs (now apparently nicknamed Meet and Greet !) is surpassed only by the welcome you get from the owner whose smile and infectious laugh brighten even the dullest, dampest highland day. The Viennese shortbread sandwich is to die for and the coffee is great. The perfect place to stop at the end of the pass.

Bealach Cafe is a delightful and refreshing experience on the crossroads of the North West Highlands of Scotland, at the foot of the breathtaking Bealach Na Ba.Owner Sharon Clark has created something special to delight all of the senses and with a spirit of hospitality that can only come from authenticity – a perfect framework for good food, barista delights and an exquisite playlist of inspiring music. The gallery and cafe combo doesn't always work, but it does here. In fact our visit was so good the first time we made a point of returning during our time in the area.On a more personal note, I left an envelope by mistake at the cafe. It contained what was left of my traveling cash in British pounds. When I realized where I left it a week later, I called and Sharon had found it on the counter, put it aside and took the time to mail it to my home address in Canada.Holidays are made of memories and such are the memories that endear you to both a country and the people you encounter there. Beautiful!

We stopped here for a quick late breakfast. Great setting at the bottom of the Bealach, and a nice cafe and gallery space. I ordered a coffee and a black pudding & egg roll. My coffee arrived and was a tad on the cool side well ahead of my food, and was completely consumed before my roll arrived. Roll filling was okay, but roll tasted like a basic supermarket roll i.e. a bit dry and tasteless. For the cost, I might have hoped for slightly better?

Stopped here before driving the Bealach na Ba into Applecross. Very smart place with a coffee shop to one side and gift shop at the other. We were first through the door when it opened at 10am and the very friendly staff were welcoming and friendly. Stopped off here after a day out exploring/walking in Kishorn & Shieldaig. Its in a lovely location just at the junction for Shieldaig/the Bealach na Ba. There is also a craft gallery on site, and they sell local honey, jams, etc. They have a good and varied menu, I opted for soup to warm me up - red pepper and lentil which was delicious, followed by rhubarb crumble cake (yum!) and coffee. Very reasonably priced, obviously very popular with locals as well as visitors.

This place can turn your day around. Great simple home made food, great coffee and an interesting selection of tea, and a nice building in a stunning location, but what makes it is the lovely woman who owns the place, she really makes you feel like you've made her day by coming into the cafe.
