Me and my friends went there for an early dinner! The best fish and chips ever! Very good price! Ooh and amazing tacos too! The outside tables are the best. You get a cute ambience light after the sun is set. Great place!

Not good this time. we received french fries having ordered chips. sadly the tiramisu gelato was crystalised/refrozen. vanilla gelato was lovely. the food at beach hut normally very good, sadly not this time.

Their fish burger is hands down the best I have ever tasted! Fresh ingredients, full of flavour! I'll always reorder from here! Portion sizes are great too!

Went on a Friday night with my mates for a bit of dinner. Really great food with proper fair prices that you don’t see a lot these days. What really makes this place great though are the two owners, they just know how to have a laugh and make the whole place feel really welcoming. BYOB too, what more could you want.

Top quality Fish and Chips and great portions. Fresh fish fried on order with lovely chunky chips. Great service. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommended.

Lucky to have this as my local chippy. The tastiest, freshest fish and chips (they cook to order) and not overpriced like some other places can be! Be prepared to wait for up to 20 minutes on a Friday evening but it’s worth it.

Ladies and Gentlemen your search is over...this is the best Fish and Chips in London! Firstly, the food is cooked to perfection with the Fish prefectly fried and the chunky chips are the best I can remember having. Not only that, the restaurant is lovelingly maintained, in a charming spot and the owners are nice and friendly in a proper old school London way. And did I mention it is also a BYOB with all the glasses there if you fancy a tipple with your meal. Result! Honestly, forget some of the rare negative reviews on here, one is for the wrong plaice (see what I did there...) and the other is about an unperfect booking experience. I mean, even if it did happen, who books a fish and chip gaff where the the two owners are working hard behind the fryer and till dealing also with walk ins and expects the white cloth treatment. So there you go, the secrets out, this is the best chippy in town. PS - if the owners read this, your guacamole is lovely too ;-)

Checking best fish & chips on Google we discovered the beach hut . I called to make a reservation . A woman answered , saying yes when I said hello , no introduction as to who I was calling , after confirmation that I was indeed speaking to the beach hut .I enquired if I had to make a reservation . The woman laughed and said well if wanted to ?! A little non plussed I replied well yes if it’s necessary . She again replied if I wanted to ! By this time I had decided that with this type of greeting and service over the phone , that I would definitely not make a reservation . I told the woman this and she ended the call by saying , well if you don’t like it …. I hung up the phone . As a caterer myself I was shocked and saddened by this .it’s in the word …. Hospitality . There was none here .

Exactly what you want for your local fish and chip shop! Super delicious and you can sit outside on a nice day.

Been meaning to try this place for a while. Unfortunately we found it to be overpriced and disappointing.

UNFORTUNATELY 1 X CAN OF CREAM SODA DRINK WAS MISSING FROM MY ORDER. VERY DISAPPOINTING SERVICE FROM THE BEACH HUT RESTAURANT. TO MAKE IT EVEN WORSE, JUST EAT ARE RARELY WILLING TO PROVIDE REFUNDS. 😟😞

Been a few years since our visit to London. By far the best fish and chips we had on our multiple visits to the UK. Still dream of them to this day.

I pop in at The Beach Hut at least once every two weeks, and look forward to it on a Friday evening. The staff are really nice, friendly and funny to start with... and I enjoy sitting around listening to the music, and chat while I wait for my take-away fish and chips. The fish is lovely and fresh, the chips nice and chunky. I have to take a bus there and back home, the food is still hot when I sit down and enjoy it... going on my bicycle is a bit quicker.

I've had the fish tacos from here before which were amazing when I had them. But today I ordered 2 small haddocks with chips and I'm thoroughly disappointed. The food was soggy as hell, some of the chips were undercooked with parts of it tasting practically raw. But the worst thing for me is that they didn't bother to remove the scales from my fish properly!! I've got fish scales still stuck down my bloody throat!! I know Fridays can be busy for some businesses but they let that affect the quality of their food too much.

The chips here are amazing, the nicest chips I've had in a very long time...they look hand cut, cooked in fresh oil, delicious. I was a little disappointed by the vegan tofu'ish - it looked great and the batter was lovely, however the tofu inside was not seasoned...it felt and tasted rather like a block of bland tofu - I struggled to finish it. The seaweed on top was a nice touch but did not add much flavour. If more could be done to improve the texture (to make it flaky) and flavour (perhaps marinate it) of the tofu'ish this could be an amazing dish!

Magnificent views and nice place to sit by the beach to enjoy your food and drinks. i ordered 2 pieces of the donuts, they were really soft, definitely a texture of donuts i haven’t encountered before (not doughy, but more of a cake kind of style). However, i do find the donuts were too oily, with some pockets of the donut absorbing the oil (as pictured + oil-sugar clumps coating the donut) and this has left an aftertaste. 3 stars given for the friendliness of staffs, good texture of donuts, quick service and view. 😊 hope to come back again!

The chips here are sooooo delicious. Probably the best Ive had in London. I tried the chicken burger for the first time and it was better than expected, a really juicy and tasty fillet. I'll definitely order it again. The battered sausage is always tasty, crispy batter. No other chip shop has ever provided this quality. My favourite place for chips. I'm keen to try other things from the menu now that i know how good the chicken burger is.

Takeaway fish and chips. Not the cheapest but quite nice. Just can't understand why fish is wrapped in material that sticks to the batter! So probably better to eat in rather than takeaway .

Delicious!! Freshest fish ever. And a nice place to sit outside. We will definitively go again. We had cod fish and asked for smushy beans instead of chips for the same price and there was no problem. Smushy beans where the best I’ve ever eaten. Thank you for that!!!

My favourite fish and chips in the area!

Fish was great, although they decided to throw the lemon wedge in with the chips, making them taste of lemon, which was disappointing. The burger was stone cold though. Shame as it didn’t taste awful. This place is excellent for the things they do well, but a bit sloppy in other areas. Easy to fix though and still excellent fish.

My order came in an open bag in a bag, chips were ok but the fish smelt of ammonia!

Fish was very oily and in a paper bag alongside chips so was just a big congealed mess.

Delivery was on time but poor service. The food was left on the lobby stairs and the driver left without saying a word. All out contact free deliveries have at least come up to our floor. This was just rude.

Customer service is vile!!! Food is ok. But oh my god the couple who own it and run it are not pleasant at all. Never experienced such rude business owners in my life, all that I have told about this couple have said the same. Majority of the neighbour hood do not like this couple and there customer service!! Good quality with generous portions. Nice chunky chips unlike the soggy greasy ones you find in some places. Delivered promptly.

The cod is so fishy it is difficult to swallow!

I was disappointed this time. I ordered whitebait for a starter, and it was dried up and lukewarm. It had clearly been cooked for sometime, which is surprising as it fries very fast. The scampi was good, the chips were not cooked enough and were quite soggy.

Fish was inedible, threw it straight in the bin.. the smell was horrendous and it tasted like crab sticks! Definitely wasn't fresh! The chips, however, were lovely.

VERY DISAPPOINTED, ALOT OF FOOD MISSING AFTER PAYING SO MUCH WAS ASK BY THE THE RESTAURANT TO REORDER FOR THE MISSING ITEM WHICH I WASNT GOING TO DO. Best haddock and chips I've had in ages.

Coming from a North Eastern Seaside town originally., I generally wait until i go back home for Fish and Chips as the I've tried Fish and Chips once or twice in London which havent' been that great. So when i moved to the area and heard there was a fish and chip shop around the corner. It didn't really impress me based on past experiences. Anyway - one day i couldn't be bothered to cook and thought I'd give it a go via uber eats. Boy was I wrong. This place is absolutely fantastic. It has great portions and really tasty fish and chips. Apart from my home town. This is the only place I'd go for fish and chips _I cant praise this place enough - a great find.

Treated ourselves after a hard days work to some gorgeous food and we scoffed the lot, thoroughly enjoyed it!! Thank you beach hut!!

Delivery was scheduled for 20.15-20.35. There was no update on the Just East site after that, except 'waiting for an update'. Eventually a driver was assigned but we had no idea what was going on. Not good enough.

Easily the best fish and chips I've had in years and a welcome treat to a long tiring Friday. Batter crispy without excessive oil and a fresh well kept haddock, large hand cut chips, fresh marrowfat peas for the mush and generous portions throughout. It is clear this place cares about their ingredients and the quality shows. Will not be buying from other places than this in the future. Keep up the great food!

This order was fine ordered again today 29/1/21 at about 6.30 order confirmed only to receive cancellation notice 50 minutes later. Pretty poor

Ordering from the Beach Hut reminded me of the Fawlty Towers episode in which Basil Fawlty only has one ingredient - Duck - and the menu is restricted to three options - duck with orange, duck with cherries or duck 'surprise'. From the Beach Hut I ordered their promoted fish tacos which I suspect is their fish version of the duck surprise. I have feasted on many a taco in Southern California and while I was not expecting a similar quality I was genuinely bewildered by their twist on these Baja staples. Essentially the tacos consist of the same battered fish that comes out the deep fryer, chopped up, and laid on a bed of wet salad which in turn is prepared on three rather sorry looking tortillas. The dish is accompanied with tortilla “chips” (think Doritos but worse) and a “salsa” which I suspect is in fact burger relish. Aside from the fact that you might as well just be eating a portion of battered cod, the chopped salad (not entirely sure diced cucumber and red onion is traditional in tacos) soaks the tortillas leaving you with a rather soggy and unappetising mess. Unfortunately it is also truly disgusting. If you do decide to order from this establishment which to its credit has been a feature of the Highbury high street for many years I would stick to good old fashioned fish and chips instead of one of their new “fish surprise” menus.

Fish wasn't very crispy, but this could be due to the wait time. Overall tasted really nice and I love the rustic nature of their chips. The major issue, which I'm assuming is Justeats fault is that the food took a really long time to come. For a long time the app was "trying to find a driver".

great chips and they do £1 bags ideal for a quick snack

I’ve ordered from here a few times since finding out about it. I refuse to order chips anywhere else now. I’ve tried the plain sausage, burger, chicken burger and fish and enjoyed them all. The only ‘meh’ experience I had was when the chips didn’t taste as freshly cooked as usual and even then the meal was tasty. I will definitely be ordering again and again I am sure.

The chips were amazing. I do need to order again to see if the chips will be just as good the second time around. The restaurant was out of one of my selections but I got a call from a very polite woman explaining this and asking what I would like instead. Overall very happy with my order.

Extremely rude woman working there who point-blank refused to turn the volume of the music down for a partially deaf customer. After repeated polite enquiring if she could please turn down the music as it was too loud for the customer, she refused with the words: no, I can't turn the music down as this is how we like it. This is so inconsiderate and rude! Never again will this establishment have this customer go there again. She did not care at all. Cannot be recommended. How interesting that the description of the visit the business owner gave does not portray the facts as they happened. A person with hearing difficulties does not necessarily have to wear a hearing aid. That is certainly not the case here. The partner was not "meekly" standing by but it was him who decided never to frequent this shop again due to the rudeness of the business owner. He was not embarrassed at all. I also wonder who the unfriendly bully is when copying in here a review from another travel site whose experience was not dissimilar to the one described above. The fish and chips were delicious and the portion sizes were great. I ordered a small and I actually had a sensible amount of food, whereas normally with fish and chips you get way too much!

We got it twice delivered and it's the best I've ever had in England so far. I had place and it was unbelievably fresh. Can't wait to be able to enjoy the outdoors again and go to the actual restaurant. 🙂

Do not order the tacos. Really sub par - overfried (frozen) prawns with thick batter and no prawn flavour, very roughly chopped veg with piles of iceberg lettuce and what tasted like bottled sauces. Worst tacos I’ve ever had. 2 items missing from the order. Calamari and chips - maybe for the best? Fish and chips ok but can get better from other places. Gravy watery. 1st time to try it and had heard good things but a real disappointment...

The gulten free tofu and chips are amazing, my favourite chippy by far.

Have eaten at The Beach Hut in the past, this was my first takeaway. As always they do not disappoint :) food is fresh, tasty and hot! I highly recommend.

Freshest fish ever! All food excellent and very generous portions. Love eating in and availing of BYO to compliment our dinner. Alan and Miranda very friendly.
