We were recommended The India by our hotel. Staff were very attentive and our waiter Mabz was first class. Best Indian food I've tasted in a long time.

I'm so glad my friend introduced us to The India (2). She's been here countless times, and now I see why. Getting a discount through The Fork was a nice bonus too! We were looking for a dinner spot on a Saturday night, and this place turned out to be perfect. At first, I actually thought it was closed with the dim interior lighting and lack of outdoor signage made it look that way but Google said it was open, so we gave it a go. We started with poppadoms, which came with four generous and dips. Most places only offer three, so this was a nice touch. The starters arrived next, and honestly, they were so well-portioned that they could have been mains, just add some naan or rice. By the time our actual main courses arrived, we were already stuffed, but the food was too delicious to leave behind, so we did our best to finish everything. To top it all off, our server was incredibly kind and even offered us a free round of drinks! It's such a thoughtful gesture. We'll definitely be coming back to The India again!

While the Indian 2 has nothing to do with India 🇮🇳, let’s call it Bangladesh 🇧🇩 2 , the food is decent and the beer 🍺 is chilled.

We went to the restaurant three times. First time we had dishes in the a la carte menu, second & third time their express lunch. We were very happy with their food in general but not so much with their service. Their starters like Haryali Tikka were good. Mains like Bhuna Lamb & Thali were delicious. Waiters were also attentive & prompt. However, the restaurant seemed to have a habit of chasing customers off straight after they finish. We were shoved with a bill immediately without asking for it, then came the card machine. I must say we were completely taken aback especially when the restaurant was not at all busy at lunch time. We thought it might have been a one off during our second visit. But it happened again third time round.

There was a group of 9 of us on a late Saturday booking. The service from Papia was impeccable and the food was delicious. Sometimes I find Indian food inauthentic and more sauce than substance, and this was not the case at all here - everyone enjoyed their meals and things ranged from the spicy to mild. The pricing was also very very reasonable. I can highly recommend it!

Food was good, but the rest...... The waitresses were quite stressful, we had barely sat down and had to order food. They get on your nerves straight after your meal so that you can leave a review. Here's the review, here you go......

The food was very good. The service quick. But also stressful, you had to quickly decide what you wanted and that you should rate the restaurant. This type of communication stressed me out as an energy-sensitive person. Furthermore, as a woman, I didn’t feel treated with respect. The waiter was very friendly and relaxed towards the family at the next table. And we sat at a table in the entrance area where the staff was running back and forth all the time, even though we had reserved. Despite the tasty food, I wouldn't come here again.

We just saw a show at Barbican and popped in. We loved how accommodating they were with our special requests. The food was good, but we expected our dish to be more fragrant and spicy. after some consideration we understand it may be more palatable for British people who may not like spicy food? overall it was a great experience and we got a complimentary whiskey to taste from Tanha after our dinner.
