The Bay Takeaway in Conwy

Fish and chips takeaway to share with my husband with curry sauce and mushy peas 2 pieces of very small soggy scrappy fish that didnt stay on the batter chips that had obviously been cooked then fried up again and probably again brown and hard. curry sauce well not a sauce it was like coloured water when I tipped the peas out they were like a sand castle. I have to say at 61yrs old these have got to be the worst fish and chips I have ever tasted. I will definitely not be going g back.

Absolutely atrocious meal. We have never experienced such disgusting food. All the chips were over cooked and tasteless, some were inedible because they were so hard. Did not tell them at the time because we were so hungry from a long journey and the woman serving was over worked and stressed, she kept moaning to all the customers about how over worked she was. The 2 people working there had dirty, scruffy clothes on and the cafe was filthy, the floor looked like it had never been cleaned and the place smelt dirty. Really don’t know how this place had not been shut down. Will never return.

The best fish & chips we’ve ever had and almost everything was gluten free. All the food was fresh and really friendly service too.

Would have been quicker to go and catch a fish and fry it myself. Also portion sizes were poor. Never again

Wonderful fish & chips. Even had a Snowdon IPA whilst I waited. Had 3 x cod & chips & 10 nuggets & chips. We all enjoyed them. Portions the right size too. 👍

Visiting the area,always awkward finding places to eat as I’m celiac, and it was Sunday,A great Welcome , plenty of choice for all of us, Granddaughter decided to be waitress. Which was funny, the food was excellent, service great too. Thank you

All four of us were so hungry and came across this gem of a chippy , ate inside lovely service and a gorgeous chippy tea with pudding 😀

Food was too expensive and portions wouldn’t even fill up a child. Charged us large for meals and gave us small; and to top it all off if we wanted to take forks (which we needed) they would cost 10p each. For a group of people we would of ended up spending an extra £1 on forks. The taste of the food was good.

Dropped off the A55 in search of fish & chips when starving hungry. Found this little gem which was great - good portion, fish nice and crisp. Good taste to it. Plenty of chips. And I brought my own bread for chip butties ! What could be better ?

Tasty freshly cooked chips, lovely sausages and curry sauce. They do vegan chips, sausages and burgers. All lovely too. 10/10 recommend

We were really pleased to find this cafe and takeaway section with two very helpful and polite staff .. perhaps one is the owner who was well informed on gluten free diet. The £5 fish, chip and peas deal was first class, a very good portion and very tasty. We indulged in a portion of gluten free apple crumble, one with vegan ice cream (because of a dairy free diet) and the other with custard. Delicious and well served to keep hot or cold!! We were impressed that there were three gluten free desserts on offer.

I come to The Bay with my elderly mum. Plenty of room inside for her wheeled walking aid. Fish is beautifully cooked, batter crispy and not greasy. Chips and mushy peas excellent. All cooked to order - piping hot. Happy diners every time!

We were due to visit Wales and searched for a place that did vegan fish and chips, The Bay came up as somewhere that did vegan scampi and chips meal so we decided to come here. When we arrived they said they have a seperate fryer to do chips but no 'fish' options. So unfortunately had to make do with just chips.

Best Gluten free choice and food i have had. The non gluten free food also very good. Service good, nothing too much trouble. We now travel to Colwyn Bay to rat there. Definitely recommend the Bay.

We came across this place on our way to Anglesey. Amazing food and service, they even brought the food out to us in our campervan.

Really nice chippy, been to almost all of them in Colwyn Bay and this is by far my favourite. Really nice people serving and the food is fresh, generous portions, decent prices and really tasty too.

Huge piece of fish and the chips were lovely for a very reasonable price. I live in the area, but decided I would treat myself . Much better than making it yourself. Covid restrictions mean you have to stand outside

Outstanding! We ordered gluten free fish and chips to be delivered, which arrived within half an hour. Firstly, we were delighted that we could even get GF fish and chips, and the food was delicious!

We have had many meals here now and it’s a highlight of our visits to Colwyn bay. Amazing gluten free menu. We look forward mostly to the lovely big gluten free cod. Always a good meal and great friendly staff!
