The Basilica in Southend-on-Sea

We have lived in the area for some time & have only recently ate here. I wish it had been sooner! The food is amazing & the service outstanding. The staff are so attentive, we had Suraj as our waiter & he was so kind & made our evening. The food was so delicious & very reasonably priced. The chef even came out at the end to say hello & gave us complimentary drinks!! We would def recommend here & will be telling our family & friends about it!

Overcharged for drinks, please check bill if you go here. Lovely place good atmosphere but just let down, service a little hit and miss. Wasn't particularly busy to so hard to justify error on bill.

Came here on the off chance we maybe able to get a table and luckily we did! I've passed so many times in the past and thought it looks super expensive but tonight has proven that it's fantastic value for money, the same you'd spend in any other lovely restaurant. The garlic bread was probably the best we've ever had. The portions were huge and so flavourful. Desserts were homemade and you could tell they were made with love. Wine fantastic and the service was wonderful, I always enjoy when they will stop and have a chat. The restaurant is decorated beautifully too, good atmosphere. Thank you so much for making our anniversary meal the best it could be, we will be returning and telling all our friends and family to visit!

I have been on several occasions with my daughter and also my husband but although I had raved about to my friend she had never been. We finally made it and have got another convert!! The staff are fantastic so friendly and attentive without being 'pushy'and the food is not only delicious but of really good quality. Cocktails are lovely especially the Pina Colada which had coconut pieces in it. On occasions there are special evenings and really look forward to going to one soon. There are also plans I believe for a set menu with unlimited prosecco which could also be fun. All in all a lovely evening and look forward to our next visit.

Came here ahead of Paloma Faith concert at Cliffs Pavilion, so arrived around 6. AS expected it was quiet but we had great service from the 2 waiters on duty and they created a good atmosphere amongst the guests We only went in for pizza but got tempted by carpaccio, which was best and most authentic we've ever had pizzas were generous and very tasty there are a number of Italian-style restaurants near the Cliffs. do yourself a favour and take the short walk to Hamlet Court road for a much classier experience but still excellent value

The city has a plethora of Italian restaurants and this one is but one of the many. The decor is pretentious as are the prices for what is a fairly ordinary middle of the road offering. The food is nice and well presented, but there are plenty of other places offering the same for less. We went on a Friday night and of the many tables we occupied the third. We were subjected to lift music which eventually we asked to be changed but the alternative was no better. The food was good but with everything considered I would not go back.

We wanted something to eat before going to the palace theatre and stumbled across this restaurant by chance. What a find it is beautifully decorated the staff are lovely and the food delicious highly recommend .

Attended a Birthday party for 30 people. The food was superb and plentiful although they were catering for a large amount everyone was extremely happy with their order. Myself and my husband had Salmon which was cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Always a heavenly treat when dining here. Garlic bread and Bruschetta are perfect! The “Ham and Mozarella” is a must try. Fresh tuna for my main course. Simply, mouthwatering. My desert recommended and made by the owner himself is a must try. Looking forward to the next meal here!
