I love this place. I asked them to make a birthday cake for a friend, it’s chocolate and I believe they call it a bit of heaven – it literally tasted like heaven. So very delicious. I stopped in the next day to tell them I had a slice for breakfast! LOL Their service was excellent as well. Thank you so much.

The bread is homemade, the bakers are very good artesans and the staff are friendly. Just there are not many gluten and wheat free options to choose.

A little bakery with good indoor seating. The pastries and hot cross buns were lovely and all the other products looked delicious too. Was slightly disappointed with the disposable cups, plates and cutlery even when eating in. Would go back but would probably take away next time.

As a bakery, 5*. Great range and so well made - we've especially loved the quiche and the peanut butter cookie, but even the stuff that wasn't the way we would've made it is still clearly very well made. As a cafe it's not as good. No actual mugs if you're sitting in, just paper cups and disposable plates/cutlery. No offer to warm anything up, so you have to eat everything cold if you're staying in. Coffee is solid, although there's better available elsewhere in Putney. Nice music and lovely, friendly staff.

They have products of exceptional quality. I totally recommend them.

Love this place. They made an absolutely gorgeous red velvet cake for my boyfriend’s birthday. The team are always lovely and really helpful. Coffee is delicious and the daily selection of pastries and breads are always so tempting even when you’re trying to be good.

Absolutely delicious selection of pastries and breads. The Prosciutto focaccia has been one of the best sandwiches that I’ve had in London. Additionally, my partner and I observed an interaction with an extremely rude customer who was paranoid about crumbs on the floor (have they never been to a bakery before?). The young lady at the counter handled the situation very calmly and respectfully despite this persons best efforts to start a fight. 10/10 customer service!

Bakehouse baguette 🥖 is one of the best things about Putney.

I’ve been there few times for a coffee and cinnamon roll in the afternoon. Coffee is always delicious but the rolls are very dry. I thought it was because they were out all day on the counter but today I went there in the morning and they were still so dry. Very disappointed

Good bread. Friendly staff. Coffee is unbelievably slow so don't order coffee if you are in a rush. Otherwise nice little place

Friendly staff quick service and great food

Come here pretty much every Sunday and always a great experience! Tried so many different cakes, pastries and bread, always so fresh and delicious (their coffee is wonderful too!). Staff are always friendly and give a great service. Our favourite bakery in London ❤️

Cozy and independent cafe. I had a latte and it was great. I can’t say much about the food but it’s my friends’ usual cafe and he said it’s amazing so worth trying next time. There is an area where you can sit and work. Close to the river so you can go around for a lovely walk around Putney

What a wonderful place this is- a local bakery selling great bread, pastries and coffee. What more do you want!

Disappointing. I come every few months and have always been happy until today. I was thinking of some fresh chocolate croissants from Tesco, then remembered this bakery. I decided to go for better quality and to support a local business. The almond pain au chocolat was as hard as a rock at 9am. It had to be at least a day old. Hope they do better and go back to only serving fresh pastry.

Please buy a dishwasher if that’s what’s needed for you to offer real plates and real cutlery for people eating in. The experience of eating off a paper plate with a wooden fork is not nice, feels like you’re at a children’s party, iced coffee in a take away cup too. Doesn’t seem worth the money if you want to sit in, definitely better to go somewhere else for a nicer experience. Service was also socially awkward and slow by the young staff and to top it off the cake was dry but that should have been expected as most items are just out in the open air on display. This place has potential, but best to take away and order early in the morning so that the baked good are fresher and not slowly turning stale as the hours pass.

Extremely expensive. How on Earth one loaf of bread can cost 5.45£? It is staple food guys, STAPLE FOOD. The bread was very good, but I simply have to give 1 Star for that price.

Their genuine service adds to the charm of this authentic cafe bakehouse. Va Va voom indeed!

They bake everything in house, which is impressive. Bread (and food generally) is good but it's not top class.

The staff here are very friendly and special shout out to Harriet, Jack David and Jean. They have a wide selection of baked goods to choose from. Love the upstairs area where it is quiet.

I just visited the Bakehouse for the first time today and let me tell you, WOW! It was absolutely incredible. It was a very trendy and fun atmosphere - there’s even a cute upstairs to gather. The coffee was great. They had oat milk and vanilla flavor for my latte. They also had tons of vegan and vegetarian options. I got a feta, spinach, and sweet potato wrap and it was delicious! All of the bread was EXTREMELY fresh! The owner, Chris, was super friendly and very engaging with his employees and customers. I felt a sense of community sitting in there. Everyone talked as if they knew each other and it’s not something you see everyday! Prices were also reasonable! I will definitely be going back!

Tried the new menu at The Bakehouse. I had the new Salt and Chilli chicken kebab it was stunning. Served by Michael was very polite and helpful. Look forward to visiting Mother’s Day with family. Well done Bakehouse

Sourdough is delicious, highly recommend.

Lovely friendly place with delicious pastries, breads and drinks. We sat inside and had a coffee with the most delicious cranberry and brie Danish pastry. They have quite a good selection of cakes and pastries and a few others for the festive season too. Highly recommend it.

Really delicious sweet and savoury things. I had a savoury roll and it looked dense but was so light and delicious - how do they do that?! The bread is excellent and Friday - Sunday get the pistachio croissant, you won't regret it.

Pastries and bread are really good here and staff are nice.

I visit the Bakehouse several times a week. Their bread is wonderful - much better than Gail’s - and the apple tarts are sublime. The coffee’s excellent too. Lovely friendly, helpful staff. I love this place. Putney is very lucky.

Excellent sausage roll and hot chocolate

Went for the pistachio croissant, unfortunately they only make them on weekends so don't make the trek there on weekdays!! Had a cinnamon bun instead which was OK, could have had more sugar and cinnamon but the bread itself was light and fluffy.

Coffee was not good today - very expensive for what it was. Baked goods looked nice but didn't try.

Absolutely amazing!! I found this bakery on Instagram prior to our arrival in the UK, and I was so excited for the pistachio croissants - they did not disappoint (I will dream about those until I fly back across the pond). The vanilla slices and rye bread cookies are phenomenal. Besides the excellent baked goods, I can’t speak highly enough of the service. We felt so welcome and were so well taken care of. I will tell everyone in Canada to visit here on their next trip to England.

I wish I could give six stars! The breakfast brioche is a must. I’ve recently tried some of their house baked bread and will be going back each week to stock up: fresh, healthy, hearty. The staff is very friendly and a lovely spot I will be frequenting!

I recently visited Bakehouse and overall, I had a great experience. The pastries and baked goods were all delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive. The only issue I had was with the freshness of the mille feuille. While it was still tasty, it didn't quite live up to my previous experiences at Bakehouse where it was fresher. While the mille feuille wasn't as fresh as it could have been, the other offerings were all top-notch and more than made up for it. I give Bakehouse four stars and look forward to returning soon.

Delicious bakery selling the most delicious selection of bread and pastries baked the traditional way. All is made on site, fresh with quality ingredients. Nowadays, it is nearly impossible to find such artisan in this trade. Absolute little gem.

I’m all for supporting local business, but was shocked by the level of service from this establishment. No plates, charge £1 for a square of butter, and couldn’t make us feel more unwelcome if they tried.

Fantastic shop, the ladies at the counter are friendly & great at recommending things based on your tastes. The coffee is wonderful & the choice of products is amazing. The freshly baked bread is fantastic, as was the apple tart & chocolate babka that I also ate. I'll be back to try many more delicious goods.

Really lovely local bakery. Everything is baked fresh downstairs and you can really tell! The staff are lovely and the coffee is also very nice. I would recommend the cheese straws, carrot cake, cheesecake and chocolate cookie in particular! 😍🍞🥖🥐🍰🍪

Nice selection of patries and beautiful breads, but no service and only paper cups and paper trays, doesn't feel as upmarket as what I seem to pay for... Fairly wasteful for a small café

I doubt you'll find better sourdough bread in London. I've tried my fair share and luckily I don't have to venture far to get my fix of Putney Bakehouses.

Lovely staff. Delicious pastries and the bread is so good. Proper bread. Pastries and specials change all the time. It’s a great place. We should all support it!

Been to this bakery several times now. Was always impressed by the wide selection of baked goods they offered, albeit on the pricier side. But my most recent visit was really disappointing - I ordered a slice of their Japanese fluffy cheesecake (to takeaway), which came to £3.25 for a rather meagre slice, and, worse still, it was unbelievably hard! As if it had been left out on display from at least the day before… A real shame.

Some tasty baked goods and interesting food items (butters etc) to buy and use at home, but a bit expensive for the size of the cake slices, and they don't seem to have a way to contact them except in person, so not easy to place orders etc. Also one of the female staff members was rude and had a bit of attitude the last time I was in.

I passed by this little cafe so many times and on Saturday we decided to go in : nice coffees, lovely pastries. Quirky interiors, which gives the place a character. Service was super quick even though it was busy.

Very nice and peaceful bakery and coffee shop. I'd consider mostly for takeaway though : the seats outdoor are right on the main street and the indoor is quite small. Indoor style is not great to be honest, it's great for a bakery vibe but not much for a coffee shop. All in all a good shop though.
