I ordered on Uber eats and the food came hot and delicious, packed full of flavour would definitely order again. I got the half baby chicken and special shawarma wrap. Highly recommend

Can you go round to the back of your restaurant and clean up please. I pass this every day and it's grim. 2 months worth of filth.

The place wants pulled down how anyone can eat in that filthy place wants there head seen to I'm surprised health and safety haven't shut it down look at the back of it before you eat

Uber/The Bake Comment: Food arrived cold & 2 hours after the estimated arrival time and when I discussed with shop they were very rude staff - worst takeaway experience ever, SURPRISED THEY EVEN STILL RUNNING!! Must’ve known how to hide these awful services pretty well as they don’t even provide the same quality of food for everyone and either pick and chose their people or just keep leaving good comments and so on and have mastered the skill of hiding this from newcomers especially. DON’T BE FOOLED PEOPLE!!! , never would recommend and never ordering again!! Funny that when I rang to see where it’s at and questioned if it’s not going to be cold they said no and after arriving 2 hours later than the estimated arrival time, it was so obvious they tried to reheat it with the whole packaging and didn’t even check it as the pizza was burnt and was dried out with crust dried coming upwards (burnt) with cheese looking so gross and they wouldn’t even come take it back and to top it all off the drinks soda cans were missing so definitely go here if you and your guests want to be disgusted and disappointed like we were.🤮 you won’t believe how they treat you inside if you not happy about the services and wish I recorded this whole experience live for everyone to see but if you want to experience something you’ve never EVER have before, then go complain to the boss and see how he will treat you for yourself. Be warned tho and expect aggression from it instead, doesn’t matter how calmly you try deal with them, they will instead try find a way to get away with it but at least I can warn others about how I was treated and take this as the nicest version.

The food is very delicious and the prices are reasonable. I recommend visiting it with family and friends

HORRIBLE AVOID AT ALL COST. This place nearly gave us food poisoning with a rotten chicken. And they tried to say that the smell is from seasoning, absolute joke.

Avoid avoid avoid!!!!!! Absolutely foul! 2 hours late for a start. Ordered a lamb wrap, the wrap was soggy, the meat was like leather and the sauce was so stale it had gone clear!! The salad looked like it had came from a swap. The worst take away I've ever had. Appalling!! Avoid avoid avoid!!!!!!

Great service. They accommodated a large group of us (no reservation) with no problem at all for them. Menu has a great selection of delicacies. The food was excellent. No complaints here!

As much I love Lebanese and this restaurant use to be one of my favourite food but this time not impressed rice chicken falafel completely off nothing fresh .

Will never order from this restaurant again. Over an hour late, had to call 3 times, status on JustEat showed as delivered & the food eventually turned up cold. Upon contacting the restaurant I was told to contact Justeat for a refund or they could send some food tomorrow. Also told 'You're obviously not doing anything tonight and you're bored' because I'd called up to complain. Unbelievably appalling service and all round abysmal way of running a business. Avoid at all costs.

Would give zero if possible. Ordered via Uber eats it’s never arrived person tells me to cancel (they should he can’t Apparently) and still my money taken and no order. Will never order from them again and nothing how they are I won’t eat there either

The takeaway from here and the service and food was appalling. I placed an order online via Justeat at 16.30pm and was given an estimated delivery time of approx one hour. At 17:55pm later nothing had arrived so I contacted them and they informed me the food was on it's way. At 18:17pm still no food and again they said it was on its way ? At 18.51pm still no food and again the same excuse. My worry was that our food was going to be cold but they assured me this would not be the case. At 19.20pm the delivery driver finally arrived with our food. The box was wrapped in layers of cling film to try and keep the heat in I presume ? The chips were cold and hard. The meat was cold, dried up and the lamb was very fatty and chewy. On a plus the salad was the only decent part of it. We have never experienced delays or service like this before and I am not one for complaining as can appreciate it's busy at rush hour but this was ridiculous and I was shocked by the overall service. It's such a shame as we live in Gateshead and are trying to source a Lebanese takeaway that we like and can order regularly from. I have informed Justeat who responded to my complaint efficiently but I will never use this takeaway or restaurant in the future.

Ordered 3 items from here at 8pm, was told they would arrive at 8:50. After it didn’t I called the restaurant enquiring where it was and the woman on the phone said it would be 30 more minutes. After 40 minutes with no delivery I called again and the same lady said it would be another 20 minutes. I asked if it was definitely on its way she said yes and I asked for some compensation and she said no. Another 40 minutes and I called again with no answer. Still have no idea where my food is 3 and a half hours later and experienced some awful customer service

Web order 3 hours late, multiple phone calls to chase and all I got was 2 boxes of salad and a bit of bread! £50 order I will be after a refund.

If you want to experience rudeness from the manger, zero customer care, lying about when an order will be ready, false promises, then this is the place for you. The food BTW is salty, oily and the bread that accompanies it the worst soggy and oily I've ever experienced. The meat came in a pizza cardboard box, it was wrapped in cling film and the steam made everything wet including the soggy chips. I ended up having to pick up the order because they would not given me a delivery time after 1.5 hours had passed. £3 for me to pick upnthe order myself. Compensation? gotta be joking. A miserly couple cans of pop and I had to literally beg for those. If I sound annoyed, then this is me calm. NEVER WILL I ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN.

Absolutely disgusting!!! Can you believe an order expected at 8:20 does not turn up. Then you get through at 9pm to be told the driver will be back soon and be delivered soon. At 10pm to then be told the driver has delivered the food, then just phone Uber Eats… tell the truth and say the driver refused to deliver!! Cannot stand lying businesses!! Shocking service when the person answering the phone did not care!!

Made an order for delivery at 15:20, food hadn’t arrived by 15:45 so I rang the shop to find out where it was. I was then told that there was no order made online, to then be put on to a so called manager who shouted at me telling me my order was in the area yet couldn’t tell me where when I asked (baring in mind I had just been told there was no order). I asked for a refund as I didn’t appreciate how I’d been spoken too and the fact the food was probably not even made yet, to be told they didn’t know how to refund me and that I would have to find that out myself. Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had with a restaurant, never again. Save yourself the hassle and order elsewhere!

I've had much better food in the price range , it's all just a bit tired and could do with a good deap clean especially the loos Plastic tumblers erm The food was okay . Very limited parking. Service was polite but after taking waiting for food we were then told certain items were not available and dinner of our party had already received their food You cannot buy alcohol here but you can bring your own . I had the falafel wrap it was tasty enough but not much substance, tiny flat falafel.

Absolutely disgusting customer service, ordered 2 wraps via Uber eats. Put special order instructions to not put sauce and halloumi cheese on 1 of the wraps. Came with expired sauce on it, bland unseasoned chicken and mozzarella cheese. Called the restaurant saying they sent the wrong order and I want a refund, the MANAGER told me “nothing I can do” and then hung up on me. I called back 3 times to again be hung up on.

Truly atrocious. The lamb was dry and overcooked, pretty much inedible, the wrap consisted of 3 lumps of it and literally nothing else (see photo). Stale, cold, unseasoned chips that were disgusting. The portion size is a joke, wouldn’t fill a 5 year old. Overall one of the worst “meals” I’ve ever had. DO NOT CONFUSE HERE WITH GOSFORTH” I ordered on just eat thinking I was getting it from gosforth which is outstanding, this one is horrendous.

I had heard this place was good so I went along with a friend. The restaurant was cold to the point of being uncomfortable - and it was empty which made me curious as to why on a holiday. This was a few days before New Year’s Eve. The reason for the lack of fellow diners became obvious as the evening unfolded. The service poor. The food was almost inedible. I ordered a Mango Lasi that was served up as a glass of watered down mango juice with globules of yoghurt floating unblended in it. My lamb shawarma had obviously been cooked some time in the distant past and was not yielding to the tooth. It was dried out and tasteless. Don’t go. Don’t waste your money. There are lots of choices for dining in Newcastle. This place in my view certainly isn’t one of them.

Ordered food at half 6 phoned at half 7, still waiting for driver they was rude Asif it was my fault they had too many orders I phone at 8pm still waiting on driver he swore down the phone to me. Just terrible service literally was just wanting my food was willing to wait till the unnecessary rudeness.

Be prepared to wait for over 1.5 hours. Our food inedible and smelled like rotten meat. The Bake at Gosforth is far superior, wish I'd never ordered from Byker.

Well been here a few times and a we went to go back at lunchtime asked for a table for 4 and a table for 2 as we could see the place was quite busy still had tables free probably not enough space for 6 hence why I asked for two separate tables. The young waiter said 2 mins and as he said this two other groups walked up and they seemed to have either known him or were family or friends? The young waiter said something to the first group looked over at us and said to whoever these people were dont worry come with me! Sat them at a table which we could have had. As I turned and looked at a member of our group to my to my frustration this happened again with another group! After this we could only see 1 table free!!! First come first served as no booking system???? As I have said we have ate there before quite a few times and the food is average much nicer places in town if you are looking for this food! We ended up at Red Mezze. Much nicer and service was second to none! Actually cheaper too! I can safely say this will be the last time we spend our money at The Bake!

Worst Lebanese in Newcastle- a mixed grill should be more than 3 chicken cubes, 4 chicken wings and a handful of frozen chips. Food arrived 1hr late, bland/tasteless and was cold and soggy. There are far superior Lebanese restaurants in Newcastle, I recommend avoiding this place.

Love the vibes. Sitting right on a roundabout, totally empty except from us, beautiful low hanging lanterns that you can hit your head on, sun streaming through the window, a wide array of puzzling soap options in the bathrooms, a mixture of Lebanese music and talk radio in the air. They have a varied menu with lots of mezze dishes and various meat courses. Not sure our order went through with 100% accuracy but everything we got was pretty good. Special mention for the 90p bread which was unexpectedly great. And also the moutabbal. Getting the bill is mildly chaotic. My kinda joint and I probs would go back.

I ordered food for delivery. Soon I got a call and said to cancel the order because they don't have a delivery driver. I refused because this meant that I will still be charged. They then ok we will deliver the food but the food never came and on the app it says food is delivered. I called them multiple times but whenever I call them, they say that the manager is not here and please call later. Unprofessional and fraudulent behavior considering I have charged money and have got nothing in return. Food is good but they behave like scammers.

I have eaten at this restaurant on a few occasions. Certainly their business is failing. The food is now uneatable especially if you make the mistake of ordering a delivery as they will send you food that was left over from previous day! Never again.

Ordered on uber eats then it got cancelled instantly now I'm being charged because supposedly I cancelled the order and they had made the food? Absolutely scum. by look of other reviews it's a seedy place

Ordered takeaway and after 20 minutes of it being late received a call to say they had issues with drivers and my delivery would be another hour. After an hour I received another call to cancel my deliver. Decided to give this place the benefit of doubt as order before so tried again. Same poor service and exactly the same scenario. Just after delivery is due a call to say another hour. Another hour goes by and cancelled. Appalling service. If the original time or order cannot be fulfilled to don’t take the order! Get ahead of the poor service and treat your customers with respect.

We waited 2 hours for a delivery to be told that there was an issue with the drivers car. Why couldn't they have called and told me instead of waiting one hour beyond delivery time for me to call and get nothing but attitude and bad customer service. Have ordered here a few times and there's an issue with each delivery. If you can't deliver to a certain postcode then don't advertise that you do then expect people to not get angry when you cancel after 2 hours. Massive issue with customer service. Will not order from here again I will take my valued service elsewhere

Poor customer service, delivery took far too long, good quality was poor. £24 pounds charged for a measly kebab that promised to be a platter. Food was greasy, cold and unappetising.

4 vegetarians visited on a very wet Monday evening, the welcome was warm and the food super. Fabulous flatbreads, sambousek and much more - well worth a visit.

Ordered food with a timed delivery for lunch today. After 3 phone calls, each one being promised it is with the driver, and even "it'll be with you in 5 mins" it arrived 2.5 hours late. Shame because this used to be a great place, seems to have been going downhill for a while now. Food was poor, nowhere near as good as it used to be. Came with leaking olive oil from container all inside the bag. Service is appalling. I once recommended this place to everyone. No more unfortunately.

I have just ordered from this horrible restaurant using Uper Eats app, I have ordered shawarma wrap, it was horrible and makes me sick, half of the chicken pieces was burnt and the other half was not cooked properly, I swear some of them are raw chicken. Horrible experience and disgusting, for sure i am not order from them again, I hope I am not getting food poisoning after the terrible food that I have just eaten

Ordered 2 Chicken Shawarmas. They delivered 2 pizzas and then refused to do anything about it. Never been treated like this by a restaurant- recommend to avoid. The pizza is awful too - ended up throwing it out. Complete waste of time and money.

Do yourself a favour and just order from 'The Bake One Gosforth'. I got a takeaway from Uber Eats: Mango Lassi (Drink) came in a plastic tub just like my hummus did. Genuinely didn't know was it was until I remembered I ordered a drink ahaha. The wrap for my Lamb Shwarma was crispy, rather than soft like the ones I get from Gosforth. Didn't mind this too much though. The Lamb itself however wasn't tender like it is from the gosforth one and nor did it taste as good. Still half decent tasting though. The lamb shwarma by itself was quite dry and didn't taste like it had been marinated long. Tasted like it had been sat there for a while and dried up. Salad tasted nice and fresh. No complaints there. Chicken wings weren't the best. The skin didn't have a 'Char' and was luke warm. A bit slimy in texture. Hummus was poor. Again, didn't taste freshly made and the grease from the lamb had caused a jelly like layer of it to form ontop of the hummus. I understand having Lamb with the hummus will leave some grease ontop but this looked like it had been sat for some time. In the bin after a few bites. The Mango Lassi was good (disregarding it coming in a plastic box and me having to clean up my floor), salad was good but the Lamb wrap was just 'okay'. The rest was of poor quality imo, especially when comparing it to 'The Bake One Gosforth' Delivery was on-time and the lad was spot on. Refer back to my first sentence.

Took order and payment and after 3 hours of saying "just 30 minutes more" for delivery told me they had no driver and wouldn't be delivering. Had to then argue for a refund and took several calls to the restaurant and multiple contacts with Uber Eats. Never again!

Absolutely raging that I didn't read the reviews before ordering. Order was over an hour late with 3 phone calls trying to establish a time. Food wasn't hot, lukewarm at best and just OK apart from the grilled chicken which was nice to be fair. Only 4 pieces though for £7.50. No discount applied which was promised on the website. Halloumi looked nothing like the picture. It's a shame you can't rate the service as zero.

Never again will I order from the Bake. Its shocking how they still have a business, order was over and hour late, food was cold, most items unedible, paid £38 for basically nothing. Chips cold and chewy, halloumi wrap flat and hard, burger barely a burger may have well just thrown a slice of bread in a box, I had the hummus dip which was swimming in oil. Never again. Overall a awful experience with the take away.

We went at the end of the evening on a weekday so I think this factor had a small on the atmosphere but I wasn't too impressed anyway. The food was OK but a bit enigmatic choosing from the menu, so I played it safe with a chicken shawarma. It was tasty but the whole meal was a bit lacklustre, could've been better presented in my opinion, and could've had better descriptions of the food options. No alcohol served here. The place isn't the neatest and looked a bit tired but appeared clean enough. I don't have anything bad to say about the place, just a bit underwhelming. It's in a good position to be a great eatery but I think they could do with a bit of a makeover to smarten the place and promote their dishes better.

Filthy dirty,toilets are a disgrace,windows filthy,seating areas filthy,there was no one in the place,no wonder with the state of it,I went in 2 years ago and still no cleaning has been carried out,if I suffer stomach ache tonight I know the reason why,the place needs shut down

What a bizarre experience. As we walked in (to an empty restaurant) the woman at the door told us to take a seat and pointed in the general direction of the tables and didnt take us to one. There was kids running wild around the restaurant which usually would also be a negative but because of how bad the experience this was a highlight. There was warm plastic jugs of water sat on every table, some half poured out that had clearly been left there all day. The waitress (if you can even call her that) was extremely rude and didnt pay any attention to us while we were there. The food was ok, slightly dry. After waiting for at least 20 minutes for the bill the woman told us the card machine was at the front desk and walked straight off and just waited for us. Didnt even look at us when saying goodbye, terrible service, will never come back.

So, first time ordering from this place and it will be the LAST TIME. I placed the order on Deliveroo and was confirmed 14:27. Tracking was not available but ETA was 15:40. I rang the restaurant 15:46 and I was told that the driver “had an accident” and promised me it will be 15-20 mins. I don’t want to sound insensitive but after reading the reviews from other customers, they seem to have a reputation for being late so it’s hard to believe that their driver had an accident. If that was the case, I’m sorry but if it’s not then it shows what kind of character these people work for the restaurant that they had to make up an elaborate lie just to justify their lateness. The funny thing is the restaurant is only 10 minutes drive away from me, I don’t drive hence I wanted my food delivered. The food arrived 16:25 and it’s cold, soggy and just mushy. The food, taste wise, was abysmal. Very disappointing.

Absolutely disgusting! The food was freezing cold and very dry and looked like it had been reheated instead of cooked fresh. The lamb was shredded but full of bones which nearly cracked my tooth and the sauces tasted off. Please don't waste your money. We waited nearly 1 and a half hours when told 45 mins after a phone call which I was told it is on its way it arrived 30 mins after that. I can't understand how they are allowed to sell this food especially for the price.

One star because there was no 0 star option. Very dissatisfied I spent 35 pounds on food that was bad and uncooked. Parts of the order was missing and when they forgot about our order they said the driver ran into problems and then said they’d be there in 5 mins but actually took around 45 mins. When the food finally arrived the salad was not fresh, the chicken was waaaaaaay UNDERCOOKED so it was inedible and the bread was stale. Overall, not the very worst I’ve had but would not order again.

Unfortunately, it's not a patch on what it used to be. It's cheap yes, we paid £30 for 2 of us but the empty seats speak for itself. Gone were days, you cannot even squeeze through & would happily queue to get a seat :( what a shame.

Best lebanese food in Newcastle

The worst experience I have had from the bake. Food took nearly 2 hours to arrive, and once it did it was cold and moist. The meat used in the mixed shawarma was terrible quality. Hard, gristly and in some parts almost inedible. I will not be ordering again.

I'll never order again. The delivery took 2 HOURS. Our children had to wait up until 9pm to eat. I called for an update and was told he'd be there any second. 30 mins later I called again, and the man was incredibly rude, told me he would call the driver and tell him not to bother even though he was apparently on his way 'any second'. Food eventually shows up, and by this time the meat was tough and fatty, and the breads were hard. Refund request was rejected - terrible service.

This is the second time we tried ordering from here, so were absolutely not surprised and yet still managed to get disappointed. Don't bother wasting your money and time. I rarely leave reviews, but this has actually been a joke. Ordered food at 8pm, got estimate time delivery of around 8.50-9.15. Got a call from this place saying sorry food will be 20mins late - okey, no bother, places can get busy that's fair enough (although how busy are you on a Tuesday night???). So far so good. Then the food doesn't arrive till 22.20. Over 2 hours after ordering, on a not usually busy night at all. Everything is cold and not even nice. Partner's food was literally seasoned overboiled rice and 5 tiny pieces of chicken in it - £13 that cost. My wrap was okey, but the for the price of it you'd think it would be bigger. Had the same experience last time, but with even longer wait. Just Eat won't even do anything to refund a delivery 80% of which just went straight in the bin as it was that disappointing.

It took 2 hours from placing my order to it finally arriving. I rang 3x, once at 20.05, where I was told the driver had left and to wait 10 minutes. I rang again at 20.20 and was told to wait 5 minutes. I said I was concerned it would be cold if it was in transit for this length of time. Again, no arrival, so I rang again at 20.35. They rang the driver while I was on the phone who said 2 minutes. I was told to ring back if it was cold, so I did, but they told me that I should have raised it with the driver(?) and offered for them to come back and collect it. It's 2 hours late by this point and I'm starving so of course I don't want to have to wait any longer. I reheated it myself, which defeats the object. Chips and wrap horrid because of this. Should have just put in a baked potato!

Food never showed up, ordered via just eat. App said order is with driver. So wasted over half hour watching from window from few mins before expected time until few mins after expected time so 40mins. What was supposed to take under an hour and half, did not attempt to update me so I asked via just eat text but still heard nothing back. And if it was to come to over 2hrs of waiting after placing order I would refuse to accept. Now I'm waiting for just eat to send me my money back so I can order from better places. This place was always the best judging by the amount of reviews but I was shocked to open the reviews and see they've done this to nearly every customer over the last 2 months and the same with UberEats. Thankfully these apps will take action. Also they are selling out of date disgusting meat and tiny portions which explains why they offer reasonable prices but isn't worth the food poisoning or the value. Thankfully I didn't get to experience that and I'll never be a customer again, no point having loyalty stamp card you won't get many customers, my family used to love this place, never again! If it wasn't for just eat I would've been robbed. I guarantee your next food hygeine will turn customers away. And hopefully you are removed from these platforms after hundreds of refunds over past 2 months is enough to be kicked out, you probably ignored warnings and are asking to be shut down, hoping that some customers don't speak up. I already know you did the worst Lebanese pizza's in the town, now you failed your good reputation. Customers please do not pay until you get to see the food in your hands, they aren't to be trusted. There are dozens of top rated Lebanese you will find worth the service. And if the owner is reading this, you have review after review of upset customers, please shut down before you are exposed for your filthy service. You have taken thousands from customers and not delivered at all or delivered very very late to the ones who paid a certain amount. Also you definitely lost hundreds of customers, it won't bother you because you are probably planning to shut down

I have ordered from here via. Just eat a good amount of times usually takes super long and food is okay but my order literally didn’t turn up tonight, ordered at 10, said it was delivered as ten past 11, it wasn’t, cut to 1am and still no food, getting a delivery from here usually takes a long time I gave them over an hour extra past the estimated delivery time and nothing wouldn’t even answer the phone and then the restaurant was closed before anyone answered.

I ordered food 19:27 and the expected time was 20:24-20:45 I spent this time until 20:57 so around 40mins when I gave up staring out the window. Meant to take 1hr18mins max to get here but failed completely. So at 21:27 exactly 2hrs I filed a refund through just eat. The app said food was with driver just before expected time but then it said delivered which is false. I should've looked at other reviews but this place used to be the best, I trusted these with the most reviews on just eat so thought they'll be good as always but should've looked at reviews first. Also I asked for a text update which didn't happen and I gave them a full 2hrs and even if it did come that late I'd never accept. So then I had to spend the next hour ordering from a better place and wait for that extra hour more so 3hrs to get my food but the other places always good service. This place has to be shut down, I complained to just eat hopefully the owner reads this and keeps ignoring their customers, it will only get worse. My family used to order from here that's why I chosen this place, but I'll tell them to avoid. People showing pictures of mouldy rotten meat, hopefully council gives them 0 stars. Worst experience, first ever time I had to ask a company to get me my money back and a waste of a voucher on this place, hopefully I get back so I can order from the best places, never again from here, I won't accept apology. 2hrs of my life I won't get back and now waiting a few days for refund. Glad I didn't get to experience dirty stinking meat, thanks for robbing me, you haven't won, just eat wins and hopefully bad reviews, you done this to UberEats customers as well, and if you have personal website I hope the customers avoid you fraudsters.
