The jerk stall food great , the staff at the jurk shall great , the younger staff in the pub great , but this was really let down by a rude not sure if she was a manger, God I hope not, member of staff , when asking for thigs it was always huffing under her breath , ot was like everything was a ture, she was that bad our table of 5 , no one wanted to be served by her.

Fantastic venue- we were there for a wedding and it’s was perfect well done guys!

Visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon for drinks. They have Sandford’s Devon Red cider on draught which is always a treat. Fast service, nice spacious interior, a couple of outdoor terraces and it is right next to Parkstone train station.

Booked this location as the online menu looked great, but when we arrived we were given what can only be expected using a Groupon voucher!! Went elsewhere.

I came here as a Sunday afternoon catch up with friends. I haven’t visited for a while so didn’t know what to expect. We got greeted by warm smiles and offered to use their new renovated outdoor terrace as it was a sunny day. They now stock my favourite beer Jubel and lovely new list of cocktails. I ordered the fish and chips whilst my friends went for the traditional Sunday roast and it did NOT disappoint. Great value for money, friendly staff and a lovely new outdoor setting as well as plenty space indoors. Will definitely come again.

I have walked past this pub on many occasions but decided to try it out last Wednesday. Very friendly and polite staff. Food was good quality and served very quickly. It was quite empty but i am sure i have seen it busy when i have passed at weekends. Toilet were very clean, always a good sign that a pub is well. Will deffinately cal in again

I didn't go in here but I saw it from the outside! Big car park, nice 1st floor terracing to three sides, food looked lovely. If I lived local I'd give it a go for sure.

I stopped off here after a very long rail journey, very expensive drinks for the area. Apparently, Green King believes that London prices are applicable to Poole. No wonder that the bar was empty, on a Saturday night.

Great food, brilliant service, staff was amazing, Jack is a credit to the establishment, made our so much more enjoyable, highly recommend it here

Great pub for sports and close to the station. Nice and newer and definitely not an old dated pub.

We were down in Poole for a few days,on the Saturday we were searching for somewhere local to watch the football (OUFC 😁) so went into the Avocet and we ordered some drinks, the guy behind the bar was very obliging and set up one of the Sky Sports tv just for us to watch which we thought was great, a few decent pints later and a 2-0 result made for a great afternoon… cheers guys!

Love this pub, the cocktails are so nice, and cannot wait to have a drink on the terrace when it’s finished renovations!

I visited The Avocet quite sometime ago, after a long session of Bouldering (it was around late May, 2023). From my experience, I really loved this pub! I was with a group of 4 (including myself) at the time, and we had absolutely no issue whatsoever with finding space in the pub. Thankfully the weather was absolutely gorgeous so we had sat in the outdoor terrace which was great! The pub itself was well-maintained and had a real classy look to it, it’d be perfect for any occasion you might consider. I think I ordered the Crispy Chicken Burger alongside some Sticky Beef Rustic Fries which were to die for! The service wasn’t long at all, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I’ll be sure to come back again when I’m visiting Poole! 🍺

We managed to drop in for food when the menu had just changed and what a lovely surprise! The chicken satay, layered potatoe skewers and the chicken liver parfait profiteroles 😋

Toilets stank of damp and mould, vile! N.B. I visited on 22nd Dec 2023 and sat on a table facing the ladies loo. I'm pretty sure there wasn't a sign! Has it now been fixed?

Had a delightful roast here recently - great service and delicious food! The roasties were by far some of the best in Dorset. The service was great, nothing was too much for the staff, and dealt superbly with my dietary requirements too. Thanks all for a lovely Sunday lunch!

I visited yesterday for my friends wake and I was incredibly impressed with the decor, friendly staff, drink choice and food (although it wasn't ordered from their menu) the catering that they provided was excellent and high quality Ingredients. The staff were fantastic too. I would definitely look forward to visiting again when in the area.

Lovely burgers and amazing fresh cocktails!

Fantastic venue and food. New management are super friendly and made us feel so welcome with our dogs. Food was spot on as usual and the new cocktail menu has to be tried. Definitely returning to this wonderful pub.

We so love this lical, in our neighborhood place....so sad that after 3 years, they still have not figured it out. Come, on! My gf burger (which was amazing when it finally arrived) came 40 min after my guest ordered 2 separate , fill in the time orders of chicken wings...(awesome,) The Hope (yup thats the label) Chardonnay was not drinkable, & server happily replaced with a house Pinot .

We heard the roast dinners were fantastic, after a busy day we decided to recharge with a roast and a quiet drink. The service was great, nothing was too much trouble, the food was delicious, we had a chilled afternoon with friends. We’ll definitely be back for Sunday Roasts on a regular basis 😋

Huge pub, nice interior with cheerful and helpful staff. Good selection of beers and ciders. Wasn't sure if they were dog friendly since it's gone upmarket, but they were very welcoming with my pup. Sat on the terrace outside, a really nice spot on a Sunny day. Can't comment on the food yet, but nice pub to have a few drinks.

We’d heard how good their Sunday lunch is so we went to check it it. It definitely doesn’t disappoint! The meat was beautiful and the veg was fresh and well cooked.The staff are very friendly and professional. It’s a great place to meet up with friends.

Dirty. Avocet: you replied to my review but I'm afraid I lost your email address and it's not on your website. I agree my one word review is not fair so... I was actually referring to the ladies toilet. One was out of order and another one, the door wouldn't close properly. In addition the toilet seat was dirty. That's going to happen sometimes but nit likely when the place is three-quarters empty of clients. The toilet seat is clearly, absolutely ANCIENT and needs changing. How can you not rationalise the relatively small cost of a replacement toilet seat? Go and have a look, particularly at the underside. Husband said there was no soap or hand drying facility in the Gentleman's toilet. Did Covid teach you nothing?

Came here for a pub quiz evening which was fantastic fun, we really enjoyed ourselves! Staff behind the bar were pretty unenthusiastic sadly, but the biggest shock was paying over £22 for a double gin & tonic, and a large glass of house rose! Given the prices for normal greenking pubs this was steep. Shame because the rest of the evening was a blast at the quiz!

Very disappointing in comparison to other Greene Kings. Prices reflect a much more high-end experience but unfortunately food and service did not. We were seated and told there would be table service but we were never attended to so had to go to the bar. All six of us were disappointed with our meals, I have taken a photo of one starter (£8!) Which was described as tacos, but was simply a tiny scoop of cold tomatoes and beans on two tortilla chips, with some questionable sour cream and guacamole. Actually quite shocked at portions, quality and price all round.

This was such a love place for my brothers wedding, the food was amazing and the staff were amazing they put on a lovely spread in the evening and were very helpful, would highly recommend any one having an event there , thank you to all the staff

Was here Friday night for the relaunch and it was truly amazing. Such a friendly vibe bar staff keep checking if your ok or need/ want anything always smiling. The live singers was great and plenty people were Dancing and having fun. I find the pricing relevant for the area and current circumstances. The food was stunning also I’m a veggie and was happy with the choices I had the coconut curry. Very impressed all round

Only popped in for a drink. Kept being told to move, from upstairs in the sunshine to inside downstairs then from our chosen table to a small table. Pay ridiculous prices & can’t even relax to enjoy it, a proper sh#t public house. My mate said the food standard was very poor along with the customer service. I won’t entertain the place ever again.

Booked a table and requested a window table so my son could see the trains ( reason for booking pub) Hadn't reserved us a table, staff rude and service very very slow. Forgot to put some of my order through. Wouldn't return. Far to expensive and very little menu choice

It was alright, I haven't been here since it was 'the cow' and the staff were enthusiastic and cheerful and helpful, the lady who dealt with us was full of life and helpful, even offering to remove one of the burgers from the bill for one of our party. The food (we had a mixture of pies and burgers) was unfortunately quite bland and unexciting with one meal having to be left and comped. My chicken pie was quite small, very little chicken and served in a small casserole dish, it wasn't a bad taste just not much of it. The mashed potato tasted powdered and warm. It's a shame as the atmosphere is good and the staff are great, especially if you like a loud lively venue.

£45 for 2 fish and chips and a pint and a half …. outrageous

The dining room staff had a poor attitude and no customer service skills whatsoever. When we requested a desert menu we were told that the kitchen was closed this was at 9pm. When she took our plates there was no mention of this. The music was playing so loud that you struggled to hold a conversation. It was disappointing at the very least and we won't be booking here again.

Great little pub friendly staff, sadly it's not cheap it's quite expensive more of the price I would expect in Bournemouth center but the team as Nd the decor are lovely so it makes up for this. I will definitely visit again would love to try the food the menu looks good but nice daytime vibe lovely and quiet.

I've been several times after my first visit a few weeks ago and all due to great service, nice ambience and incredible food. This bistro pub has quickly become my favourite and go-to place for food and drinks in Ashley Cross. I've also recommended it to friends who all agree how great it is. I can recommend the ox tail nuggets, korean fried cauliflower, Padrón peppers for starters. The cider-battered fish and chips or the burger as mains and the sticky toffee pudding as the end to your meal. All done with small but effective and delicious twists! A must try! The sunday roast is so good and you'll be well fed on a large sized porption with a competative price compared to the other alternatives in the area. The manager Simon always greet me with a smile and makes you feel welcome and seen from the moment you enter and his team is always professional, kind and effective. Great food, great ambiance, great service..

Poor, to be fair, Rugby was playing on multiple TV's. Drinks were very expensive, No IPA available despite 4 pumps suggesting that they had supply. A curious vibe, something between a working men's club and fine dining, shame as We expected so much better.
