I popped into The Avenue when I was visiting Southport on my own. There are quite a few bars on this stretch. I really wanted to try some of them out as I was new to the town. The Avenue really stood out as somewhere that I could get a warm welcome and some quality entertainment. The Guinness was a little more expensive than some of the other bars in the area. However, at £4:60, I felt that this represented excellent value for money. The staff were really friendly and made me feel like a “local” even though I didn’t know many people in the town. The music was excellent. There were two different covers acts who played from about 9pm until about 2:30 in the morning. They played a lot of folk and indie songs as well as songs with a local connection, such as the Coral. I thought the music was really good and before I knew it I was singing along and really getting into the vibe. I really liked the girl who was working behind the bar. She greeted me warmly and she looked after me all night by serving me drinks when I wanted one. She was up for a laugh and a giggle and all of the staff seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as the customers. All in all I would recommend a night out in Southport to anyone. This bar in particular should be top of your list for a night out. I definitely had an unforgettable time at the Avenue and I would recommend a visit to this bar to anyone.

You need to teach your bar staff to not touch drinks people have paid for until they have drank them! a barmaid took two full drinks and then said oh I’ll sort that to which she walked away! Then when asked again proceeded to call the bouncers and say we were disrupting her even though she had taken our drinks! Your bouncers are a joke and very hands on which is a disgrace!! one bouncer struck my partner and laughed Bouncers can not touch customers Your bar is disgraceful and it has been reported to the police but by the sounds of your reviews not much will be done on your behalf anyway cause it seems to be a recurring issue Teach your staff to act appropriately when servicing customers and also your bouncers when approaching people need to be thought to keep their hands to themselves!!

As the end of the evening approached a glass collector took my full drink, I complained immediately & the glass collector apologised, he referred me to the bar staff. He accompanied me to the bar and admitted his mistake to who I’m assuming was the manager. The manager shrugged his shoulders & carried on doing what he was doing whilst other bar staff all turned their backs on me. I protested further but was met with complete ignorance & rudeness. I was not drunk or abusive, I just told him theirs actions were unacceptable. It’s the last time I’ll patronise this place, thieves !

We had my daughters wedding reception here on Saturday, it was an amazing day. The atmosphere and the staff %100 helped to make this day as amazing as it was. The waitresses worked so hard with a continual smiles and the food was hot fresh and tasty. Bar staff also friendly and busy (as we drunk a lot )they were polite and service brilliant. Have no qualms in saying a big “Thankyou “ to all staff at Reuters you helped make the day perfect. X

A dump and a sorry fall from a previous decent venue. A sad indicator of decline of commerce/office workers in area due to working from home and closures.

We found that the drinks at Dapa were decent, but the atmosphere and service was lacking. I didn't find it obvious where to order - table, till, coffee machine? And after standing looking confused and trying to catch the eye of the member of staff, I asked if I was in the right place to order. 'I'm just very busy' the member of staff replied. We had our pick of most tables, so they weren't overly busy, but the service did pick up a bit when 2 more members of staff arrived to help out. They seemed fairly frustrated with each other as a team. Once the drinks orders had been caught up on, things were a bit better. But overall, as somebody who clearly had her hands full, I didn't find the staff helpful or particularly warm.
